Google Pixel 2: 1 Year Later - Duration: 4:30.

Hey there, Alex here.

I know that most of you are probably more interested in the Pixel 3 at this point, but

today I want to talk about the Pixel 2.

If you've seen my review of the phone last year, you probably know that this was one

of my favourite phones.

So before the Pixel 3 gets announced, I want to do a quick revisit of the phone.

The design of the phone was never great to begin with, and at this point, the large front

bezels makes it look older than it really is.

But in day to day use, the bezels actually makes it a lot easier to reach all parts of

the screen.

So meaning, it's nicer to use one-handed, even if it's not the best looking.

The other thing I'm not a huge fan of are the materials used.

Despite being a metal phone, the Pixel 2 has a sort of plastic coating.

It does feels quite nice, but comparing it to the older Pixel, I actually prefer the

metal finishing.

Anyway, you probably notice that I've covered mine up with a dbrand skin to protect the

phone from wear and tear, so it's not a big deal.

I also have a popsocket as well that makes using the phone one-handed even easier.

Not sponsored by the way, I just happen to really like these accessories.

Pixel devices has always been about software, and it's the same for the Pixel 2.

When you look at the specifications of the phone, there isn't really any stand out features.

No insane amount of RAM, no bezel-less QHD screen, no dual camera setup, no variable

aperture, you get the idea.

It's all still really good, but just not great.

There is no wireless charging as well, it's only rated at IP67 instead of IP68, and even

though it has stereo speakers, it doesn't really sound that amazing.

However, because of the software, this is still my favourite phone to use, even today.

It runs Google's vision of Android, which is almost like stock Android but with some

extra features.

Things like telling you what song is playing in the background, and the ability to squeeze

the phone to launch Google Assistant.

I don't actually use any of those features, but what I do like though, is the clean Android

experience, and being first in line for the latest software updates and security patches.

It still feels extremely snappy even today, and battery life is actually still decent,

easily lasting me a day of use with around 4-5 hours of screen on time.

There is another unique feature of the Pixel lineup, the unlimited Google Photos uploads

in original resolution.

I take a lot of photos, so having the ability to upload all of them without taking up any

of my Google Drive storage, is a godsend for me.

The only downside is that unlike the first Pixel which seems to provide this feature

for the entire lifespan of the phone, the Pixel 2 will only have this feature till the

beginning of 2021, which is just slightly over 2 year from now.

So for folks who are planning to use the phone for as long as possible, just take note.

Anyway, you'll still get the unlimited high resolution option after that, which is slightly

compressed, but still excellent looking.

Phonearena did an excellent comparison a few years back, I'll put a link in the description

below so you guys can check it out if you want to.

This photos backup feature is perfect for the Pixel 2, simply because of how good this

camera is.

Over the past year, I've tested newer and more expensive phones, and I still like the

images taken by the Pixel 2 more.

The way it processes details, colours, and dynamic range, just looks more appealing to

me, and I'm not the only one who thinks that.

Here are just some photos I took with the phone, and I have a link below to more of

them in the description below.

1 year later, this is still one of my favourite phones around, and if your needs are like

mine, I think it's still a great option, especially if you're not looking to spend

too much on a brand new phone.

It's not perfect for sure, but the user experience is good enough that I can overlook

some of its shortcomings.

I'm pretty excited to see what the Pixel 3 has to offer, but I'm still so contented

with the Pixel 2 that it's going to take a lot more from Google to convince me to upgrade.

Thanks for watching this quick revisit of the Pixel 2.

If you've enjoyed it, be sure to leave a like, and subscribe to the channel for more

content in the future.

Thanks again, and see you guys on the next one.

Google's Project Steam could be the future of gaming - Duration: 2:42.

Thanks to Google's new streaming tech you can already play Assassin's Creed Odyssey for free from a Web browser, and that's just the start

Game review: Super Mario Party is a great icebreaker It's generally agreed that the future of video games is being able to stream them directly to any device, with no need for a powerful console or smartphone to run them on

What isn't agreed upon is when this will start to become the norm, but when it does happen it could be Google – not Sony or Microsoft – that's leading the charge

Google has announced a new technology called Project Stream, which is used to stream large amounts of data, including video games, via their Chrome web browser

The game they've used as a test is Assassin's Creed Odyssey, which a select number of gamers in America will be able to play from this Friday – if they have a broadband connection of at least 25 megabits per second

'The idea of streaming such graphically-rich content that requires near-instant interaction between the game controller and the graphics on the screen poses a number of challenges', reads a Google blog on the subject

'When streaming TV or movies, consumers are comfortable with a few seconds of buffering at the start, but streaming high-quality games requires latency measured in milliseconds, with no graphic degradation

'  'We're inspired by the game creators who spend years crafting these amazing worlds, adventures and experiences, and we're building technology that we hope will support and empower that creativity', adds product manager Catherine Hsiao

Obviously, the service won't be free all the time, but Google gives no indication of when and how it might evolve into something people pay for – or whether they'll be partnering with existing console manufacturers or going it on their own

Google Doodle dla kibiców futbolu. Kim był Ebenezer Cobb Morley? - Duration: 3:47.

Ebenezer Cobb Morley - ojciec zasad piłki nożnej uhonorowany w nowym Doodle. • Fot

Screen z Google.com Kamil Rakosza 16 sierpnia 2018 Każdemu kibicowi piłki nożnej wypada znać jego imię

Choć z pewnością niewielu o nim słyszało. W czwartek 16 sierpnia, w najnowszym Doodle, Google uhonorował Ebenezera Cobba Morleya - ojca współczesnej piłki nożnej

Ebenezer Cobb Morley urodził się 187 lat temu w brytyjskim Hull. W wieku 22 lat przeprowadził się do miasta Barnes, gdzie założył klub piłkarski Barnes Club w 1862 roku

Rok później, jako prezes klubu wystąpił o utworzenie organizacji zrzeszającej inne drużyny futbolowe

Dzięki wysiłkom Morleya 26 listopada 1863 roku doszło do pierwszego spotkania The Football Association w tawernie wolnomularzy w Londynie

Organizacja do tej pory sprawuje pieczę nad piłką nożną w Wielkiej Brytanii. To dzięki pomysłowi Morleya można było później stworzyć platformy obsługujące rozgrywki na poziomie międzynarodowym

Whiteboard Wednesday #4: How to save money on Google Shopping with CSS | Clearhaus Learning - Duration: 3:41.

Hi, and welcome to Whiteboard Wednesday.

My name is Dennis Cassøe, and I'm the CEO and co-founder of WakeupData.

Today, I'll like to tell you a bit about the thing called CSS,

which is a new service that Google has launched,

that actually stands for Comparison Shopping Service.

which is a new way whereupon you can get your ads on top of the Google search results bar.

Why would Google launch a new service when they already have Google Shopping working

as well as they have?

Well, the reason has been that in the European Union they got fined 2.4 billion last year,

by the European Commission, because they have a tendency to show their own ads

and thereby removing other comparison services from the search pages.

To be able to deviate that problem, they decided to make it a bit easier

to get other companies' products shown up here from other comparison services,

but back in January this year, it was still 99% of all adds that was show on the top of the Google Search page

was based on their own engine, the Google Shopping engine.

This wasn't good enough, and they were forced to find a new way of doing it

that would make it easier for more comparison services to get on top of the Google Search bar

with those shopping ads.

So they launched this CSS. The CSS service means that if you're a price comparison service,

you'll get around 20% discount on the ads that your merchants are sending up to the Google Shopping site.

What this means is that if you usually go as a merchant and send your products through Google Shopping,

it means that if you spend 1 Euro on the ad, they will spend 1 Euro on the ad up here as well.

But if you use a CSS provider, you'll spend 1 Euro, get the value of 1 Euro,

but 20% of that Euro will go to the CSS-providers.

This has become a new way of displaying ads, and you might say

"why would I want to use a CSS-provider, while I'm already sending my ads up through Google Shopping?"

Well, the main reason is that by using this CSS-provider, you usually get a big chunk of that money back.

So by spending 1 Euro for the ad up here, you'll end up receiving back 20% of that Euro

that you can then spend on another ad.

On top of this they launched a bonus scheme that, initially here in the starting phase of the CSS' life,

that gives you up to 20% discount more if you spend more than 500 Euros on your merchant account

on the Google Shopping ads.

You might say "what impact does this have on how my ads are displayed and my campaigns?"

Well, the main thing is that if you have a Google Shopping campaign running over here,

first of all, you'll have to setup a new one,

and this means that you'll lose the history you have running on the campaigns.

Second part is that on top of these ads, right now it shows "by Google"here,

but by using a CSS provider you'll see their name there.

If you're using ours, for instance, you'll see "by BestPricession"

So, the main difference is actually just a new change up there

and you'll end up saving a lot of money on your ad spend.

If you haven't already looked into this topic, you really should spend a bit of time on it,

because if you aren't doing it, you can be pretty sure some of your competitors are,

and that means that they'll get their ads cheaper compared to you

and therefore be able to either bit higher or have a better cut on their ad spend compared to you.

Thank you for listening.
