Hi and welcome back to another video today, I'm going to be showing you how to do some fringe work
I had promised that back a while ago in a video that I had done
how to do some different types of fringes and there's a lot out there
We have lots of cover. So you do have to know how to make your own
peyote bracelet base
and this is 6 wide
however long you want it you will have to know how to attach your button
But leave the loop because I will be showing you how to decorate it
when you do your peyote pull a lot of thread
And I'll show you what I mean
right now
I'm gonna just show you on these large beads that I had rolling around there of size 6
But they're really kind of they're kind of junky
So I'm just gonna pull a little piece of thread to show you so I picked up one two, three four five six
Six beads and I dropped it down halfway down three yards of thread. And yes, that's a lot
We're only going half way down and then it kind of will flip my work like this
And if you're a beginner, I'll leave it down
So our tail is coming out there working thread is right here
We'll pick up one skip one and go into the one right after that and pull
Pick up one and
We'll skip one and go through the next one
It's just picking up one skipping one
Now we'll go through that last one and then give it a good pull and like I said, these are just some
Not not good quality beads at all. So it's not going to look perfect
But you want them to look, you know a little bit neat here
Okay, so now
We always know we started with 6. So now we know we always have to add 3 in. So we're gonna go through this one
Pick up one go through this one that's sticking out here two and
Then three and
Then I pull and I always
Flip my work
So my working tail is always up here. I can pull a lot harder and keep my tension really high
So you pick up one and now each one that's sticking out right there
That's where you're gonna put in a bead
One two three, etc all the way down. So I'll go two and
then three and
Like I said, I pull and then I'm gonna go and flip my work again
run back down
one
Two and our third and
That's all it is. That's all you'll do
for the entire
duration
Or the length that you want
Like I said, we have a lot going on here
So you would do this to length and then at the end you would leave a lot of extra thread because you have three yards
on here
So just leave that attached and go all the way to the end
And
I still have quite a bit of thread here on mine and
I'm just gonna talk a little bit about the types of beads that I have before
I add the loop because I'm right in position to add the loop for this
beautiful button that I've been saving
It's just outstanding and all the fall pretty colors I thought would look nice together but
I'm gonna show you you do make kind of a mess when you're doing one of these fringe
excuse me drop bracelets
but it's really worth it. So I went and just
picked through a lot of my beads
some Swarovski I've got some of these just a beautiful drop
tree of life charm
Butterflies, some shell
Beautiful beads here
and
Just some rounds. I've got a whole bunch of fun things to show you how to use these
Then with this pattern I just did
two rows of the brown
Two rows of this beautiful color
two rows of this and I just
Alternated I kept going back and forth because I wanted to really pull the colors out of that that button
So I'm gonna get started just going to kind of not cover everything up here
So when you're ready at the end you want to exit the middle
So one two, three, four, five six six beads. So I'm going to use these two beads to attach my loop
so I'm going to pick up one two three and then a size 8 and
Then I'm going to pick up enough beads to encircle that button and it is pretty large. I think it's a 22mm
So I'm gonna pick up
quite a bit for
I'm only being quiet because it has to be an even number
Twenty seven twenty one, two, three, four, five six, seven eight
I'll try 28 and just to test the fit. We're just gonna go right back through though size 8
Only and I'm gonna kind of just hold my finger in
Place like this and I'm gonna see how that fits and I want it to be a little looser
See, it's too tight right there
How you can see the thread stretching a little
It's too tight. So I'm going to add on two more and so then I should have thirty
So one two, go back through the eight
And now I want to even my work out
So I'm gonna pick up three and we're coming out of this 8
So I know I'm going to bring it around and go back through this 8
And pull
Go through the next 8 and then up one
Two three
That size 8 right there
Plus one more
11 and we are going to begin the peyote and I'm going to do a different color
I'm gonna do this pretty teal. And again, it's just picking up one
Skipping the next going into the one right after that
Picking up one
Skip one go in one
Do that all the way around hopefully I had thirty on there cuz I did not double check my count
and we'll do this all the way around and I think this just dresses it up and makes it look really pretty and
sometimes I will add fringe on the end here
which also looks beautiful because you could either wear it on the top on the top of your wrist or on the bottom
Cuz the button is just so beautiful on its own
And I will put a link as to where I got it if you like
That glass button
okay so we are almost there
And this also strengthens
the loop too so you don't have to worry about
Reinforcing it by going through it over and over again
because we're gonna go around one more time with
some size 8
So here's my last stitch and I'm going to go and run through those two 11's right back down into the work
So into these three 11's right here
Through this 8
And then the next 8 or just I'm just weaving around just like we're reinforcing
And
Then we'll come up
These three 11's plus that one 8 this time I want you to exit that new 11
So go through two and then the one that's sticking out and now we're ready to add I'm gonna use this dark
this dark 8 and it just flew out of my hands and
I'm going to just peyote around
This whole area adding in one of these beautiful beads
Just like this
So it's just another layer and
Also reinforcing
There are tons of way ways
to do fringes
I'm not going to be able to cover every single one but I'm gonna do my best to show you all the different unique
Things you can do with fringe it's a lot of fun
Okay. So here we are at the very last stitch. You can see how that just dressed the whole thing right up
And will just run right down the 11 the 8 and go right into the work at this time
I'm going to have you step out
one two three 11's
And then have you step out
That edge right there
And see how pretty that looks
And I'm gonna back off a little bit. I'm going to pull back a little bit
So I have more room here because I told you it does make a mess
And I don't want to like overload you
All right
So now we're exiting this 8 right here
I'm gonna turn it so you can see like this and now anything goes here
But let's start off with something just straightforward and simple
we're going to pick up
I'm going to pick one
Two three four
five
11's a
size 8 and this beautiful
Beautiful pearl. I've been just hoarding forever and
I'm gonna put
One two three 15's on the end because I like the way it looks when it makes that little pico
So we're just gonna skip those three 15's and go back through the work
so through the pearl the 8 and all those
11's
Into the 8 where we started
And
It'll look just like this
And now we're coming out that 8. no we are gonna go right down the one next to it and
This time I want to add this is the part where you just have fun, I'm gonna add one
Two three four and then this dark brown and a beautiful crystal
And one more 11 because that's what's gonna hold the crystal on and see how its
Budding up right next to that pearl. I don't like that. I'm gonna take it off just backing out
Gonna make it a little longer
So one two, three four five six
seven eight
nine
then my
beautiful bead there and I
one 11
We'll see how that looks. That's perfect. So we'll skip that 11 and we're just gonna run right back up through all
These beads I'm gonna try to do in one shot upside down here
and pull
And then we're coming out that 8 so we know I need to go right down the one next to it now
Let's make a short just a little short blunt one
And I think I'm gonna use
Let's see, I'm not pretty leaf
Alright, I think I will just do
That's the hard part is deciding what you want
Because I know I want to add one of these beautiful flowers in here somewhere so I'm gonna just pick up a
Size 8 this beautiful flower
another 8 and then three
11's and we're gonna drop it down
We're gonna skip those three 11's and go back through the 8
the flower and then the 8 and
Right back into the work
Give it a good pull just like that and then go right through the next one
Come right out that next 8 next door and give it a good pull
So now I know I want to make a longer one, so I'm going to go and pick up
That main color. I don't know why I'm really loving this color
So I'm gonna pick up
Two three four
Five six seven eight nine ten and
Then one 11
of a different color and now I'm gonna flip my work just so I can show you a little bit better
I want to do a few branches like a few sprigs off of this one
so skip the 11 and then go back through just two 11's
skip that teal one and go back through two and give it a good pull
So your works nice and tight and I told you I always make a mess so it doesn't shock me anymore, so
We're gonna pick up now one two three and then a 15
Skip your 15 and go back through the three back through that row and just two more 11's
Hold on
Pull and see how it's starting to make little sprays and sprigs. That's what I'm doing
So I'll show you again one two, three a size 15
I'll drop it down
I'm going to skip that 15
Go through the three and then go back into the original work through two
And do it again 1 2 3 and one 15
Skip that 15 go through those three and then run all the way up
Into that 8
Give it a good pull and then we'll go down the next 8 and that's just gonna give us some texture and
Like I said as we go along I'll explain more how to get the fullness that I'm looking for
But when I wear this, I want certain beads to be in certain places
So it's comfortable and I also want like this tree of life
Charm to hang somewhere around here.
So keep your design in mind as you're going alone when you're making your beautiful
fringes keep that in mind of where you want certain special items and and
you know other things that you're
You've been holding on to for a while like like I do
So we'll continue now and I'll show you just will do 1
1 2 3 and then I'm going to do 1 2 3
love these big ones and then
I'm going to do that blunt square right there and just one 11 to hold it on
I'm gonna drop it down and see how it looks in there and I just want to make sure it doesn't get lost
And I think it is gonna get lost. So I'm going to swap out switch out
And I want to put brighter ones and there so I'm going to do 1 2 3 4 5
1 2
3 I'm gonna do a really bright bold one this Swarovski square and
then
one 11
That should make it pop. Yes
So we'll skip that last 11 just go through the square the 8's the 11's
all the way up through the 8
Pull come down the next 8 give it a good pull and
That's looking really pretty so far
Excuse me
Sometimes the simplest ones are the prettiest sometimes the ones with the spray
Just make it look even more fuller. So that depends on you and what you you like I like adding a
Lot of things here and there I'm gonna run up and down a couple times to do
The design that I have in my head, but here's a really pretty swarovski that I'm going to add in there.
So i'll do two this time
1 2 11's the Swarovski and just one 11. This is how short I'm gonna keep it
skip that 11 go through the Swarovski
two 11's plus the 8 and
Then go right back down that 8
And that looks stunning and now let's do another spray again. So or you know spray or whatever
That's what I call them because it looks just like a spray of beads
one two three
Four five six seven eight nine and ten
and then just a pop a color on the end and
I am going to turn the work because it is a little bit easier for me to show you
So just skip that 11 go right back through two
And I'm gonna pull just to make sure it's tight and now I'm going to pick up one two three
one size 11
Skip one size 15, excuse me. Skip that 15 and we'll go through the 11's and
Then back through the work for 2
and now say you want to do one two, three and a small round and
then a 15
You could do that, too
That would look beautiful. Skip that 15 and go right through that tiny round
Through those 11's and then back into the work for two
Two beads
Just like that and I think I want to use this pretty gold
Gold leaf I've had forever so I'm gonna go one two three
that
Pretty leaf and then one 11 to attach it
and
then I'm gonna skip that 11 and
run through the leaf the three 11' s
and
Then all the way up
And it's very hard to see here that's the only thing the glare
Next door and let's see where I kind of shake it around see what do you like what you want to add
I know I want to add more of that color
that beautiful teal
I'm gonna go 11 and then I'm gonna do just a simple little Rizo bead
Just like this
And then I'm gonna do 11 more

7 8 9
10 11
This is just another way you can do it
coming out that 8
Skip everything and just go right back through that 8
makes a pretty loop
we'll go down the next 8 and pull and that way you have a little bit more texture movement and
I think it looks stunning, but I want to put now a really bold pop of color in
So I'm going to use that beautiful
Swarovski, and I'm going to do one
To two size 8's the Swarovski and then two more and just one 11
and
Skip the 11 and go back through all the beads
into the work
Careful not to get tangled or caught up
And give it a good pull and then go right back down the one next to it and you'll do that the entire way down
And then I'm just gonna do a straight forward long one right now
5 6 7 9 10 11
size 8 I want this to be pretty long
And then
This beautiful crystal and this 11
Okay, because right now
We just skip the 11 now, we're just gonna run right back up through
All the beads, but right now I'm out of thread
So I'm going to show you that really quick too
So you get a good pull and now I'm gonna you've up
into the work
Very carefully just weaving away from that area that I just put on up through these 8's
Like this
And I'm gonna get to the top. I'm gonna go down and
then back up and
Down and I'm just gonna keep weaving in kind of locking that thread on itself
Making sure it doesn't get tangled.
I throw no knots in this project
I'm just weaving away cuz if you're throwing not in the top especially you're gonna see it
So this way works, just great and if you're nervous you can pull if it's moving at all
You know, you have not locked it good enough. So keep going
I'm gonna do just two more and
then mine feels
Very very secure and then we're gonna add thread the exact same way. So
I'm gonna go ahead and
Carefully
Burn that off
Grab another piece and just a comfortable amount just about a yard
Because when you you're working with fringe, it does get tangled up in there
So I'm only gonna work in little
Little pieces today
So I'm just gonna dive right in to the general area that I want. I'm gonna go and I'm gonna leave a tail
just about this big about three inches and
then I'm gonna go down and weave
Down so as I go down now, I'm gonna go up the one next door
Back down
Keep going all the way down
And I'll show you right now what I mean by you can tell if you're attached
So I will
Weave into this one
And this 8 because my goal is to come out this 8 so we can continue adding the fringe
But I'll stop for just a minute and I'm gonna pull really hard on this
It is see how it moves
It's not tight. You're not locked in yet
See you will have to keep doing that until you can pull and you absolutely feel no movement at all
So I'll go up and down
This is just again how I add in thread other people may do it differently. You may use knots that's completely up to you
So I'm here
Right here where I want to add the fringe. I'm gonna again pull if it moves I'm going to tighten it from that end
So, let's see, I'm gonna pull really tight
Okay, and it's not moving at all, but I'm still gonna bury this tail so I'm gonna pop a needle on to the tail
And I'm just gonna weave away
The same way up and down
All the way up and through the work just away from that area and
Then here is where I'll go into the work a little bit pick up that 8 and the one next to it
So I'm just kind of making like a square
and
Locking the beads upon themselves
Pop out and burn and you're done there you've added in a big piece of thread that you won't have to worry about
Almost burned my new piece
And now we can continue and this is what I love this is designing
This is my favorite part is you get to do whatever you want. It's yours
your art
So, let's keep going
We're gonna go by and I'm going to pick up some more of those teals so I'll just do one two, three. One two
Three a size 8
this beautiful round and an 8 and
just
one 15
Like I said, this is all your design. I can't work upside down anymore. I'm sorry. I tried
Scootch that over
So just skip that 15
Go through all these beads
straight up
come off that 8 and
Go right back down then next 8
Okay, you know what else can I show you let me see you can do let's do another
See what else I have in here
Let's do another one two three, four five
Six seven eight nine
Ten eleven, let's do another
One of those sprays but let's add some
Rounds in there. So we're gonna skip that eleven go through these two
And this time we're going to keep them shorter because if the rounds are a little bit bigger and they're 3mm
So I'm going to pick up around
One eleven
It's the same thing. We're just going to skip the 11 to go through the round
And back up in to two
And we'll continue all the way up
Just like that, so I'm gonna pick up a round and an 11
I'm gonna skip that 11 go through the 2
And
The 2 on my main row and I'm gonna do that one more time, so one more round
One 11 and I know I'm running short on time, but I could do this all day long. This is so much fun
get out your favourite beads beads that you've had for a long time or you've been wanting to use and
And make yourself something beautiful
And so that's what it looks like more
Bulkier with the rounds. So carrying out that top it. I know I have to exit in this direction
And so there are a few examples there's still like so many more I thought I would have more time
Especially to show you how to add that centerpiece
But you get the idea now how very very easy it is
I'm gonna keep going just a couple more three and then I'll do one
I'm gonna do that pretty blue
and
then
three 15's because I want to make a little pico one of those little designs at the bottom
I think it just looks really pretty so you skip all those 15's and go through the work
All the way up come out that 8 pull and then go down
And then next 8 and pull and see how it goes. It's just that little bit of decoration right there
And now I'm gonna do like a short one with a pop of color though, so I think I'll do this
really pretty
pearl
and I'm gonna keep it really really simple by just putting on an 11 a pearl and 11 and
Then a 15 and run right back up these
beads
Into the 8
And so I know this one I'm gonna make longer just because that's the way I like it. I don't want to lose the fluff
So I'll do one two, three, four, five six, seven eight nine
Ten. I want to see what
This looks like ten
Because they think it's a really cool, I love it so I'm gonna put that one right there
It's a really cool pearl
And like I said, I have so many containers with
tons and tons of leftovers
very unique beads from other projects
So now I'm gonna brighten things up a little bit one, two three
one two
And how about that orange I don't really brighten it up and
Then we'll do one two three 15's
And I don't think I'm gonna like that orange in there. So I'm gonna add
This color it's like a purple Moroni
maroon looking color Moroni
That's not a word
I'm sorry
Alright, so we'll skip the 15's and we'll go through the 8's the bicone all the way through the work to poke out
that 8 right there and you'll continue that all the way down until you have
your beautiful fringe work
I'll just show you like that's how it'll look when you're wearing
Just like that
so
beautiful, so
comfortable if you decide when you run down one side that you need more areas that need to be filled in and
It's so simple you just run back down
You share that same bead and you do the same technique and that's it
And you get this amazing. I can't wait to finish this and post pictures because I love these colors together
