People joke about this topic all the time. I've had people come up to me and
say, "Oh so-and-so could really use you." have you ever wondered seriously what
can a psychologist do for me? When people find out that I'm a psychologist, I get
all kinds of different reactions. Some people want to tell me their whole life
story. Some people don't dare tell me anything
at all. It's just interesting what the perceptions are. You might have been
wondering what can a psychologist do for me. There are different kinds of
psychologists and I can't speak for all of them.
From a basic standpoint, I think my job as a psychologist is to illuminate the
obvious. Which is kind of cool. I get paid to tell people things they
already know. But there's obvious things that are unnoticed. Your clothing for
example. Do you notice it? Can you feel it? Yeah, it's obvious now but before I
mentioned it, it wasn't even noticed. Obvious but unnoticed. The fact that we're
speaking English. Honestly, did you notice? Some of you will say yes to that because
you're not native English speakers. And those are the ones who notice. If you
were raised speaking English primarily, you didn't
notice we were speaking English. It was just obvious but unnoticed. It's obvious
once I call it to your attention. There are processes in our mind that are just
like this they are obvious once they're called to your attention but completely
unnoticed up until that point. One of these processes is called metacognition.
Metacognition is a made-up word. Do we make up words in psychology because we
feel smarter when we can. Breaking it down, cognition means thinking. If we
place cognition right here on this level. metacognition is a higher level.
It's thinking about thinking. And do you notice that you can do this? That's good
news. Because metacognition creates a little space. And in that space, is where
choice exists. Some of the processes that are constantly going on in our own mind
in our cognition are obvious but completely unnoticed up until the time
that they're called to your attention. That's what I do as a psychologist. I
think that's what people in my industry do. We help you to see those processes in
a metacognitive way because once you go to the metacognition level, then we enact
choice. And that's huge. We go through life sometimes not even
seeing that it's a choice. And I can tell you until you see it as a choice, it's
not. You will simply roll with whatever you're programmed, train, taught and
educated to do. And it's not necessarily by choice at that point. It's just your
programming. Programming like English you know, we talked about earlier. I don't
choose to speak English, I'm programmed to speak English. Well, with metacognition,
I can see that, "Wait a minute, English is not the only language, it's not
necessarily the best language. It's just the one that I'm programmed with." Could
we pick another one? Yes, we could. And that brings up all of the issues around...
Well, I'm not used to the other language, I'm not fluent in the other language,
right. So, you enter into a practice process. That's the other thing that I do
with my clients is to create for them opportunities to practice a new language.
A new programming, if you will. Where before, "My life is terrible, horrible,
awful, no good, got stuck in depression, anxiety." Whatever
it is. To speak a new language of, "You know what? My life is awesome. My life
rocks." And I've got the power to improve it from here. Both of those are positions.
But until you see it as a choice, it's not. The world that we work in in
psychology tends to be based around feelings and thoughts and beliefs and
relationships. All of which are affected by our previous programming. Most of
which were not even aware of because we just roll with our programming instead
of experiencing our choice. One of the biggest things that psychologists can do
for you is to help you see the processes that
are going on in your own mind clearly enough that you can get back into a
choice position. And determine for yourself. See, I can't tell you how to
think. I don't have that kind of authority. Plus it would just tick you
off anyway. I just want you to see that you are thinking. That thinking has
predictable results on all of your outcomes. Your relationships, your
finances, your health, your mental health, your happiness. Thoughts have
consequences. I and my other colleagues in the industry of psychology want to
help you get out of your own way. Now, I have to add a little disclaimer here.
Because none of the psychologists that I know, including the one on the screen
right now. None of us have this all figured out. We're just fellow human
beings on the planet. What I've discovered however is that
principles determine all of life's outcomes. And there are certain
principles that by virtue of my practice and what I've been able to do here for a
quarter of a century. I have observed that certain principles determine
certain outcomes with happiness, for example. Positivity. You've heard this.
Forever, right? Just think positive. Does that annoy you too? Probably depends on
who's saying it and why. I've figured out through my practice and what all my
clients have taught me used over these years, why? That is absolutely very
literally true. The positivity is a choice in that it matters and that just
think positive, we'll take the just out of that phrase and it's more accurate.
Think positive. How do you do that? There's 2 processes.
Evaluation and creation. I went over that in another video. And in fact, you know
what? I would be happy to share with you my mini book. In fact, you know what? I
would be willing to share with you a free digital copy of my mini book.
Portable Positivity. I'm not trying to sell this to you. What I'm offering here
is an insight into the principles that I have learned through 24 years
of clinical practice where I've figured out how positivity works and how you can
immediately implement it in your life. I wrote it up as a mini book. There's a
model in here that describes 2 processes in your mind. Evaluation and
creation. You can't turn either one off and your imagination drives both of them.
You can get a free digital copy. Just check down in the description for the
link and enjoy. This is what I do in my work is a psychologist. I've been
speaking specifically about what I do as a psychologist. Other psychologists have
different specialties, different areas of practice. I used to for example do child
custody evaluations for the court. Some of the videos here on the channel are
about that. I don't do that kind of work anymore but I share what I've learned in
these videos so that you can benefit from it. I did a doctoral dissertation on
bedwetting. Who knew? I know more about that than you ever want to know. But you
what? If you want to know what I know, go see the videos that I've done on
bedwetting. Different psychologists have different focuses or areas of practice.
And so, how they can help you might differ from how I can help you. Where I
focus on things like positivity and parenting and relationships and
entrepreneurship and productivity in the workplace. See, those are the things that
light me up. Another psychologist might focus on research or on a particular
educational approach that helps to maximize learning or whatever it might
be. It's just like any other field or industry where there are different
subspecialties. Poked around a little bit and see what you can find out about the
particular areas that you're interested in. Or leave me a comment down below, send
me an email. Engage with me in ways that I can help to answer those questions for
you too. I'd be happy to do that. Hey, Live On Purpose family. I am so
impressed that you're still here. That you're listening to the outro for this
video. And because of that, you get a special bonus. Don't tell anybody else.
But down there in the description is a link where you can get a free copy, a
digital copy of mini eBook. Portable Positivity. Check it out in the
description. Thanks for watching.

we're highly anticipating the scan tomorrow I want to know what the blood
work is I want to know like how I'm responding if I'm responding like I
want to hear that because I feel like that's the first step and then that kind
of like sets the tone for the rest of the stims and then I go back again on
Sunday so we'll see it just goes really fast she's got like 22 follicles I don't
expect to have that many if the seven I have continue I'll be okay with that
I'll be okay with that
hi thanks for clicking on Simply Tanika I am Tanika if you are new here welcome
hit that subscribe button let's hang out awhile if you are returning welcome
what's that fertility BAM we got to do what lets get those babies ladies hey
Pam how are you today is Thursday November 15th it's crazy I wasn't gonna
vlog today it's like 8 o'clock at night and I debated and then I randomly
watched Phil and Alex Alex and Phil and they did a nighttime vlog and I was like
hey I'm just gonna hop on here because I have a lot on my mind so a couple of
things are happening one it's snowing in New York like not a little bit a lot of
it if you follow me on instagram you saw me out there like I was drenched so
that's happening which I think that's a sign I don't know when I was in school I
had an English look like Community College back home I had an English Lit
teacher Bill riddles Berger who used to say like rain and snow is like
penetrating the earth he always made sexual references which is random
because I knew he had an affair with one of my relatives but that's another story
hopefully he's not alive anymore he was super old back then anyway but the other
penetration so I was thinking like the day that I went in for my scan it was
raining remember like my baseline scan and then it's snowed overnight and so
tomorrow but usually like the snow is all of you you know you've got all the
crops up like even the blueberries and whatnot which are in season right now
you've gotten them up everything is under ground all the work that you've
done is kind of gone underground and I feel like that's what's happening with
my eggs is like all the work you've done they're underground and they are just
waiting for the seasons to change right and so then when spring comes it like
starts going we're speeding it up because of the medication and so spring
is gonna be next week and we'll see how well they grew but I don't know why that
just sort of resonated with me and so yeah that's what I'm going one
I'm making dinner I'm doing regular food as Cheyenne's that I'm doing rosemary
potatoes chicken and the skinny asparagus I don't know if they have like
I've named pencil asparagus I think is what they are I'm doing that she made
fun of me she was like are you doing real potatoes or cauliflower and I was
like no real potatoes are there Road potatoes I'm not doing food restrictions
I was better about my water today I think I got two liters and I would like
to get one more so I was much better today and just gonna do like another
smoothie I think with avocado spinach and like some maca and good fertility
stuff I did workout this morning I got in 30 minutes didn't get in as much as I
wanted I thought today I get to do a long day of exercise like two hours but
I'll do that on Saturday I slept I was tired I told you guys less and I was
tired I went to bed after my shot and I slept probably until I think the first
alarm went off
that's the honking it's there backed up out there I'll show you guys in a second
my personal alarm went off like I think at seven o'clock I didn't actually get
out of bed till 8:00 so and I probably went to bed at 11:30 right after my shot
so I got over eight hours of sleep which is unusual for me but I'm listening to
my body and going with it this is a vessel I've been talking to the babies
I was talking to Genesis earlier where we were texting and he was I told her
you know she was like I see two babies I was like me too
I don't know if they're twins or not because it could just be the two eggs
but I've been talking to them I know their names I have their initials and so
I told her the initials are d DM for both the boy and the girl and she you
know she's crazy she was like I need their initials to be ASAP
and I was like okay we'll work with that but yeah she's getting ready to go on a
cruise so safe travels honey she's already probably back by the time she
this pose but anyway she's out and about and keeping me in good spirits and for
kosha from lifelong commitment the Alexander's have been keeping me in good
spirits so yeah I'm actually not stressed I'm excited now like I don't
know how to explain it um and maybe excitement may not be the
right word I am highly anticipated anticipatory highly anticipating the
scan tomorrow I want to know what the bloodwork is I want to know like how I'm
responding if I'm responding like I'm want to hear that cuz I feel like that's
the first step and then that kind of like sets the tone for the rest of the
stems and then I go back again on Sunday so we'll see I have to get up and do
that and then I'm now I should be on time for my AED CPR training it's the
AED is a defibrillator and then the CPR is I don't know where you resuscitate
which I think is good there's a separate one they do for infants and I'll
probably take another one I took one when Cheyenne was little and but this
one will be like a nice entree back into it if you will I will do that and have
get a certificate in that and then I'll figure out yeah but I'm getting excited
my house is hot mess calm that half of the house is not so bad the table is a
mess and I have a bunch of shredding I want to do I want to get things
organized as I mentioned I'm off next week so I definitely want to get my
bedroom but my closet organized I want to set up a place where I can have the
crib I think I showed you guys occurred before I'm doing like half crammed for
co-sleeping so it will slide up against the bed and basically it just becomes
like an extension on the bed but then it also can slide up against the wall so I
want to have like a little area for that and a little dresser so thinking about
those things talking to the babies and again I don't know if they're coming at
the same time but they're inside of mommy right now and so I'm talking to
them whether they are you know one born and then twelve months later sixteen
months later the second one's born or they're both coming at the same time I
don't know but I know they are both inside of me so I'm talking to them
telling them that I love them and that I'm doing good things to take care of
them and just being connected with my body overall which is nice
I talked to blue earlier he was Gordon play out in the snow and walk around the
park I loved making snow angels I didn't get to do that today because it was
already dark when I got off but hopefully there's still snow and clean
snow on Saturday I want to hang out with him and we can make snow angels I don't
know if I told you guys this when we went to Target I had to get the teething
rings cuz I wanted those for my shots and he kind of rolled his eyes I was
like can't you just use an ice cube and I was like no cuz it's gonna stick to my
skin and anyway we went over there and it was funny because coming out they had
like this little sweater I don't know if it's like a fisherman sweater or it's
some kind of a Shetland sweater I were sweater I don't know anyway they had a
child version and he like stopped and admired it was like oh I have one of
these and as I guess they have cute clothes at Target it was just a cute
moment and I imagined that a baby boy will have one too he's gonna be a sharp
dresser she's gonna be a sharp dresser no matter what so yeah I'm excited
I'm to have the baby here and address the
baby first we can't get the baby on board so I'm really just focused on that
and taking care of myself like I haven't stressed myself when I wanted to sleep I
slept I've been eating really well I've been
exercising so I think we're in good shape
tomorrow I will not get to get up and exercise just because I have to be at
the clinic at 8 o'clock and y'all know I am NOT a morning girl but um I have yoga
tomorrow night and I sent our note that I'm stemming in so I can't do like
anything - bindi at the waist but um like laying and so it's restorative yoga
so she just is gonna pick two poses for us to rest in and she'll modify for me
it's a very small class I know some of you guys asked how come I never take the
camera there's only like 4 of us in the class she does it in her apartment I
can't really film in there and it's kind of like a sacred space like I don't want
to be worried about angles and if it's makes sense to you guys like I just want
to be taken away so that's why I don't ever film in that but anyway I'm going
to do that she'll adjust for me that should be good and then I'm gonna come
home so tonight I'll film the shots tonight I want to talk about that
because someone else had questions about it putting on the ice pack I'll do it
all properly tonight menopur still burned last night someone said to put it
in slower and it wouldn't burn it's still burn it's not crazy it's just
uncomfortable it's not like wow it's just like heat and it's not even heat
like if you bite into a jalapeno that's how you know hotter than you think it's
not even that hot it's just like an a discomfort like a warm liquid stinging
liquid going into your leg so yeah oh and somebody asked me that I did the
unpacking video posted today and someone was asking why is the mini pur in an ice
pack or not in an ice pack menopur is meant to be refrigerated and i
double-check this i went on their website it's meant to be refrigerated or
in a cool dark place but cool dark place temporary I don't have any cool dark
places as a no because it's colder now so the heat is cranking in the apartment
so all of the places dark are not cool if this would have
been earlier in the year um it would have been cooler in here but we're
cranking the heat so I guess in the video it looked like my stuff was not in
an ice chest everything that was in that box was in an ice chest and maybe it's
the way that I edited the video but basically it was an ice chest with a box
on the outside of it and so when I opened the box I just took the lid off
of the ice chest everything in there was a nice I mean even the needle holder the
sterile pads all of that was packed in with ice and so the stuff that was yeah
and it's the rest of it is in the refrigerator the stuff that needed to be
refrigerator isn't the refrigerator so although the Conal F says to inject at
room temperature so I take that one out first and leave it sitting which is why
I inject myself with the menopur first and then the gonal-f
just to give it time to get to room temperature again it's super warm in
here so I'm assuming room temperatures like a normal room and not the hotness
that is my house so yeah that's kind of that on the meds if you guys have any
other questions about the meds let me know down below I'm learning everyday
and my dosage that was another question a question so my dosage is 450 IU of the
gonal-f and then 300 of the menopur so that's why I'm doing two packets of them
in a pure they're 150 each and then 450 so my pins are 900 per pin so I get to
use the pins twice right two times one on one day one on the other to get to
the 900 so that's kind of that with the mags I don't have the instructions yet
on when I use like the doxycycline I still don't have the no.4 I've had a
million conversations with those class today the one pharmacy didn't have it
the second part of C the e script was not going through they wouldn't take it
over the phone they're in Georgia the only other option was a hard copy which
anybody got time for that so we moved it to I called it in and sherry at who was
in charge of like medication prescriptions going out at Columbia said
she would send it to camp Metro which is a New York
fertility pharmacy Metro and the other Z chemist is the one I use she said let's
just send it to both and see if they have it I called Z chemists and they go
through a vendor they ordered and she looked it up in her system and she said
two of the vendors don't have it one of them does I need two of them because I
need to get to ten thousand and the way that no Burrell is packaged it's one
package has five thousand so you need two and those are intramuscular because
I was like I have autotrol but the average ro is subcutaneous so that's the
one shot that's gonna have to go in my butt buttocks through the muscle which
I'm a little scared to do that one so I'm gonna have to look at some videos I
know I've seen you badass ladies do it I just got a I got a look at it I believe
one of those intramuscular shots is what butterfly poet injected herself with
what the blood came out and I'm that's freaking me out but I'm gonna try to aim
for the top and then a lot of you guys had said why don't you go and have blue
do your injections every night no first of all we don't live in the
same residence as you know getting up there and back every night would just be
crazy now it has to be around the same time I'm doing it at 11:30 because that
made sense for my schedule so to trek up there to get a shot and check back to
get a shot at 11:30 and come back home that just doesn't really make sense and
no offense to all the ladies who have happy husbands who are injecting
medicines that would just be nerve-racking for me quite frankly to do
it every night I see the men doing it and they're like kind of shaking and
fumbling especially like the first time my anxiety is too high for me to do that
like I would forget my own what I have control over is myself and that gives me
a little bit of anxiety but not as much it's same thing like even with driving a
car if I'm driving I'm fine if someone else is driving it freaks me out I want
to be the one in control so it's just easier for me to do it like I see some
of these videos in the men their hands are shaking and they're like I just like
no mm not gonna do it I'm not gonna do it and the injection part is not hard
it's the mixing I think that's a little more nerve-wracking as I do it
I get a little more comfortable each time but the the injection some I'm
gonna do those myself let's see if we can come over cuz I said I take you to
the window it's dark out now can you guys see that so those are all the cars
that are backed up which is why I'm sure you've heard the honking oh there's a
lot of light coming in there we go see that they're all I mean it didn't snow a
little bit it's not a lot look at the inches on the top of those cars but that
traffic is bad it's been there since I came home and they're just like hooking
and doing all sorts of tomfoolery but yeah all right no New York so yeah
that's kind of what's going on I am gonna I have the oven on Saul right now
I just looked at myself because I was trying to look at the light no I'm
distracted I have the oven on for the potatoes I'm going to go and get that
started and then I'll see if I can drag Triana and we can have dinner with you
guys and chat up a little bit I'm curious as to her thoughts on this
process and maybe she'll share some of that with you guys as well she's seen me
do the injections or you guys saw that video but yeah I don't know you guys now
it feels like it's going to super fast I thought I was gonna get to be psycho
buddies with someone with June 1 of the famine ected on Instagram but she was
like three days ahead of me and she's already gone in first I can scan like
she they think you should they're tricking her on Sunday and I haven't
even gone in for my second ultrasound so it just goes really fast
she's got like 22 follicles I don't expect to have that many if the seven I
have continue I'll be okay with that I'll be okay with that and you know I
know it goes down so if I have seven and then how many will actually fertilize
then how many will get today three how many will get today five do you guys
know about that because I've been reading about that the doctor mentioned
it a little bit when she was talking about the FE T but it may not fertilize
even though we're doing it C may not fertilize so that's the first step well
first is the eggs have to come out there have to be follicles that's one eggs in
the follicles ovum there have to be ovum in the follicles then they've got to get
them out then they only want to see the ones that are mature they try to gauge
how many are going to be mature by the e2 right so if I have seven we'll say
seven times 150 where's my phone we'll do this now I'm just gonna do the
calculator really fast so if I have seven seven times 150 we want the e two
to be about 150 per Fawley that means at the end of it all I should
have e to that is 1050 during that time they will also monitor the size so they
want it to be between 18 and 20 that's what we were talking about before not
having one that's too dominant or becoming a dominant follicle if that one
starts to grow out first and it's like a 22 they're going to have to trigger me
because that one is going to below their Shabo it's gonna break through the
follicles I don't know why that I keep saying that guys there she blows anyway
it's gonna break through and that's when ovulation happens and so it puts
everything else at risk so to try to reduce that risk mitigate that risk if
it started to get that big they will have me trigger and they will schedule
the retrieval so it's all kind of a dance at this point we want to keep them
between 18 and 20 we want to check the e2 so that it's about 150 per follicle
because that indicates there is a mature ovum inside of there and then timing it
all out remember when nurse Christina said so that they don't get ahead of
each other so they all are about the same they
you want them all to kind of rise together and so it's going to be a
matter of tomorrow how are the seven growing are they about the same size or
is one taking the lead and taking over what does the e2 look like does it
indicate that there are actually ovum's in there that are developing because you
could have some that are not developing that will not be mature etc so then once
we get to that place we're gonna take them out and they're gonna analyze them
to see if they are mature of the ones that are mature so saying you know in a
case I'm not gonna use my numbers because I'm not gonna speak any
negativity into existence potentially so let's just say there's someone who has
30 eggs retrieved this young 27 year old woman who you know has got everything
going maybe she doesn't have her tubes or something's happening but she's got
30 eggs released 30 eggs retrieved they look at them all and let's say only 20
are mature so that's 10 that are gone because they're not mature so they're
not in the running anymore we've got 20 now they fertilize them let's just say
they're doing it see they can do XE is intracytoplasmic something it's where
they take one sperm one great-looking sperm and injects it into one of them
which is what they're going to do with me the other one is they put all of the
eggs and a lot of the sperm in a dish and they let them go at it and let the
sperm try to penetrate it on its own because I'm older XE is good because
it's going to help break through the pellet Kunda I think I'm saying that
right I'll insert the word down here it's Pelican dope Ella kudi anyway the
outer shell of the ovum it's gonna help it break through it's thicker as we get
older which makes it harder to fertilize right so they're gonna help out they're
gonna the embryologist is gonna break through with that one great looking
sperm it doesn't mean it will fertilize so but it gives it a better chance so
then they wait to confirm fertilization fertilization is that those two separate
entities have now come one one all of our chromosomes all
of my chromosomes and all of the donor chromosomes all together and have
created honking horns now I have created a new human being that is where divinity
comes in right whatever your beliefs are something divine has happened for those
two to unite and become something new so now they're going to give you a
fertilization report so where were we 20 we had 20 so we put them in the dish do
the EXCI let's just say all but to fertilize so now we have 18 18
fertilized eggs which are now the embryologist and everyone else is going
to call them embryos there's a very technical reason why they're not yet
embryos but you'll see it in a community that call them embryos they call them in
babies they're called there is a developmental stage when they
technically scientifically become embryos but for the sake of our
conversation their embryos now so we've got 18 embryos they want to watch them
grow they have to divide at a certain rate and so they look at them again
they're gonna let them rest you don't want to touch them too much so the the
standard is to look at them at day 3 which is why you'll hear like day 3
they'll say day 3 blesses us it's not technically a blastocyst yet it usually
doesn't become a blastocyst till day 5 it's really a morula at this point but
you want to see that division and this is happening the same as in your own
body if you're not doing IVF when it gets fertilized it's dividing it's not
even in the uterus yet which is why you normally shouldn't test until at 6 days
after you
honk down your horn I don't know why they that's a New York thing in
California we don't do that that car is not going anywhere there's no need to
keep honking like that anyway in your own body
it's fertilized and during the same thing that's when it's traveling down
the fallopian tube and into the uterus those first six days after ovulation
they're it's nowhere near the uterus which is why in this case scientifically
they've put it outside so what would be happening in my fallopian tubes are now
happening in this petri dish in the lab they fertilized we've gotten to day
three let's say two more did not make it in our scenario so now we have 16:16
left we're watching them we're hoping praying they're gonna leave them alone
for another two days they will come back on day five and look to see how many
blastocysts are there let's not speak anything negative into existence and say
all sixteen are there all sixteen are there and they're fine at some point
they've done some sort of grading told me what it is was it what it isn't what
you know they looked at the outside they look at the appearance the grading is
all based on how they look because we're not dissecting anything we're not taking
it apart so we can't analyze like how many chromosomes none of that's being
done it's all like them looking through a microscope how fluffy it is how the
exterior looks how its separated how it's not separated now keep in mind what
they're seeing in the dish part of that will become the baby part of that will
become the placenta which is why the PGS testing is controversial because you
don't know when you take those cells if it's the placenta or the baby and it has
been shown that those tests and actually they're not even called tests they're
screening it's called PG as pre genetic screening and as with any screening
there is a large opportunity for failure it's just like when you do if you do
screenings in pregnancy to see if there's a likelihood for Down syndrome
or etc it's not as conclusive as if you do a test write a screening is just to
rule out based on oh how do I explain that based
on very general concepts let's just say it that way keep it moving
based on very general concept they're screening in they're screening out and
saying move forward or not based on that they will tell you you know based on
what we've taken the screening results are and they've taken a cell out of an
entity that has five cells or six cells or eight cells thereabouts and they
can't tell if that cell is the baby or the placenta as I said so that's why I'm
not doing PG assessing among other things I just want my baby back inside
of me I also want them to stop honking but that's probably not gonna happen
um let's go into the kitchen and see what I can do what's this oven and what
I got going on although I'm not well lit every way okay we're in the kitchen I
did the dishes earlier so they're drying over here I'm going to that's hot
because the oven is on I'm gonna put the potatoes in and mix them up for the
rosemary not a good idea to do that with one hand but oh whoa we're down to
sixteen they look great and figured out the great we're gonna put placements of
them back in the uterus based on these grades again grades are all visual here
are those asparagus can you see that light those are like the skinny ones I'm
gonna do those in a pan right after I do the potatoes I'm gonna start the
potatoes and I'll do the chicken and the
asparagus and potatoes I've got the rosemary come back I'll come back to
that so we've got 16 we'll pick the best ones based on this external criteria
that's visual grading and then we'll figure out to put them in or not like
that's best case scenario there are obviously scenarios where
there are no eggs there are scenarios where they don't fertilize there are
scenarios where they fertilize they don't grow scenarios where there are
eggs they fertilize they grow they stop growing they don't make it to day five
they all of those things happen they make it to day five they put them back
they don't grow so there's a lot that can happen between now and then I'm
trying not to be overwhelmed crazy or consumed easier said than done
it's hard because I understand the risk I understand the realities there's so
many people hitting me up in DMS on Instagram it's crazy
I don't think sometimes people realize how their words can cause anxiety so I
try to take it in stride because I think they're coming from a good place with
like there's a couple of people who are hitting me up hard about donor eggs I'm
like they wish they would have listened and I don't know if they're venting
sharing reminiscing or if they're inferring that I should do that wow I
see Pat Knight is I've said this a million times I have to do what will
make me continue to be a woman with no regrets right I will regret it always if
I don't try this if I don't try with my own eggs I will regret it
and so I'm going to do it I'm not gonna have a situation uh I should've would've
could've either way I should have would have could have listened to the doctor
my first re and just done donor eggs I'm not gonna have a situation was I could
have would have should have tried with my own eggs and I didn't I'm going to do
what feels comfortable I am doing what feels comfortable for me I don't judge
anyone for what they choose for themselves I don't and so I hope the
ladies who are sharing this not projecting onto me I hope they're
not productive never me I hope they're just sharing what their experience is
but it does make me a little anxious to hear it over and over again and to see
other ladies who are not having successful egg retrievals or who are who
are not yielding as many as I thought etc etc however that's not in my control
it's something I can change it so there's nothing I can do I've done
everything I can to prepare myself I fully believe like losing the weight
helped lower my FSH like beyond the patch beyond everything else that was a
lowest FSH I've had to date 5.5 was amazing the lowest I had before that was
7.7 and that was after a month of like working my butt off but I did remember
my weight was lower than and so the weight that I am now is the weight that
I was when I had that low or FSH so I think that played a factor into it I
feel like I've eaten really well especially the last 60 days I have done
exercise like I am in the best fertility shape of my life and so we'll see again
there's divinity involved and so I pray I stay on my knees I am like let God's
will be done and I know so many of you are praying for me and with me I'm also
praying for you and with you I thank you so much I love you guys so much I don't
know if I've said that recently so much this would be a much lonelier scarier
journey without you so thank you for rocking with me thank you for sharing
your stories with me as well all right let me get this chicken going I don't
want to be up all night I will see if I can get shy and come and have dinner
with all of us and we'll talk to her for a little bit and then we'll do my shots
I will be off to bed bye ladies

WHAT HAPPENS at the live event for The Online Course? A PEEK INSIDE!! VLOG 171 - Duration: 12:08.
- [Man] We've got some fresh new young talent
doing some things that I know you haven't heard before.
- [Man] One, two, three!
Listen.
(upbeat jazzy electronic music)
- Good morning, vlog.
We're on our way to DARETOGROW,
the live experience for The Online Course.
I am psyched!
(relaxing electronic music)
(beeping)
I've got butterflies.
I have done this before,
but you're still allowed to get butterflies.
Well, well, well, who do we have here?
You're shaking with excitement.
I love it.
We've literally just arrived.
There's probably about five, six people here already.
Oh, I'm so excited.
Like, you guys know if you've been following
DARETOGROW the vlog, this is my dream.
To stand here, look at this, we're all set up.
I have no idea how many people are coming.
Because if you don't know,
I've said if you don't know,
I'm super excited.
If you don't know, I run this big online course,
and I do it twice a year.
I'm out of breath from running up the stairs.
And as part of the course, you come for free
to a two-day live event in Manchester
for the chance to meet me, meet Alice if she's around.
She normally comes to all the events.
And meet everybody on the course,
because an online course is mint.
I'm a massive fan.
Mint.
But when you couple an online course
with meeting these people in person
who you're changing your life alongside,
you're watching them do their lives,
you're watching them on the journeys,
friendships are made here.
Like, actual long-lasting friendships.
So this is the room all set up.
10 people might turn up, 30, I don't know.
(soothing instrumental music)
So before we even get set up,
we're going to get a quick photo for social media,
because this is the perfect opportunity
to tell people about what we're up to
and share in the positive vibes today,
'cause we are hyper.
- [Woman] I'm actually thinking you might be best on here.
(camera shutter)
♪ Woke up this morning and rubbed my eyes ♪
- Completely random poses, you never know.
(upbeat electronic music)
Yeah.
I know what I'm saying.
Yeah, oh I've got a plan of what I'm going to do,
but I used to have scripts and everything,
and I'd memorize it.
Alright, tell Louise.
Go on, how you tell me.
(murmuring)
- [Woman] So then you're going to stand, like, here.
(murmuring)
- Alice has recruited Louise to get a picture of us,
but Louise doesn't get half as much instruction
as I get when we're taking photos.
Because Louise is good, you said,
and I'm not (murmuring).
Ooh, you look good.
- [Woman] So can I get (murmuring)?
- Yeah, wherever you like.
You tell me.
It's your photo.
- [Woman] Yeah (murmuring).
Put your feet in.
Come on, girls.
Work this camera.
(upbeat electronic music)
- Who here is afraid of public speaking?
Is anyone afraid of public speaking?
Put your hand up.
Who's terrified of public speaking?
Who's terrified?
Louise?
Yeah.
Great.
Both of you come to the front right now.
(audience laughing)
(audience cheering)
(upbeat electronic music)
That is a wrap.
So we've been going all day long
from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
And today just been thinking about vision.
Where do you want to be 12 months from today?
Did a guided visualization,
and everybody's left absolutely floating on cloud nine.
But because running an event is such a buzz
and you're so in your head,
there's nothing we can do tonight but go to the cinema.
So going to go watch Bohemian Rhapsody,
have some food, switch off,
and get ready for day two, marketing.
(relaxing instrumental music)
(murmuring)
- This is fun.
- This is fun, hey.
Did we swap sides?
I feel like (murmuring).
(laughing)
- [Woman] We should've planned it.
- So let me just give you a bit of context
as to why we've done this.
So me and Alice, actually, we are independent.
We have our own businesses.
We make our own money.
We pay for our own things.
People think when they see Alice
that I'm in The Be Platform,
and people think that Alice is in DARETOGROW,
but it's very independent.
And Alice's approach to business
and life is so different to mine, you wouldn't believe.
And it's incredible the conversations we get to have
about life, business, marketing because of it.
So just as an example,
my whole strategy is vlogging.
Huge for me.
Building an online course.
Huge for me.
Alice has retreats, she does one-to-one coaching,
she does mentoring, all sorts of different things.
She does moving parties.
Very, very different.
So I thought, for some of you in the room
who are following Alice or know what she's up to,
you might want to ask her questions directly.
(upbeat electronic music)
- I really believe that when you're surrounded
by the right people that you naturally will just
blossom into all you were born to be.
Even today you're probably noticing
how much easier it is for you all to just
feel confident to take that next step.
So with the retreats, it's really about creating
an environment where women feel safe to be themselves.
And then once you've had that experience,
like even today you might be having it,
once you have that experience,
you can't help but go and find it in your everyday life
because it's such a gorgeous, addictive feeling,
that it's like, wow, that's possible.
I can live a life surrounded by a community
that wants me to grow into all I was born to be.
So with the retreats it's just giving people that experience
and obviously we do meditation, we do Kundalini.
Some people here have been to the retreats.
We do lots of dancing and gratitude things.
But the main thing is creating
an environment that's almost addictive.
So the last retreat some people went,
people were crying because they didn't want to go home.
They'd experienced what it felt like
to be surrounded by incredible--
- [Woman] That's a surprise.
(laughing)
- But for the first time, they were like,
wow, they could just be themselves.
They could step up into living their purpose.
But once you've tasted that, you won't go back.
You won't compromise, because life is so good
when you get to experience your truth.
And so, whether people know that about my retreats,
although I advertise (murmuring)
but that is my purpose behind doing it, yeah.
(murmuring)
- [Woman] Yeah, I'm going to book.
(laughing)
I'm in!
(upbeat electronic music)
- I'd probably say your clients are going to come to you
because you live a good life
and you've got results.
So like, a lot of my clients come to me
because they want to run their own business.
They want to run retreats.
They want to run women's groups.
They want to have their own online program.
And so our job as coaches,
we can only help our clients grow
as much as we grow ourselves.
So if you've never, for example, for me,
if I've never sold out a retreat,
I'm never going to get the type of person
who wants to step up
and sell out a retreat,
so it's thinking about how can I step up
so that I'm attracting a higher quality of client?
And I with coaching, you can actually attract people
who want what you've got really.
And it's like with you, you'll be drawn to coaches.
You know, you're probably drawn to Lisa
because she runs an online program
or she's got the marketing skills.
You're not just here for fun.
There's something about Lisa's life that appeals to you--
- It's my hair.
(laughing)
- It could be your hair.
But, you know, I mean, there's a reason why.
I'm not going to attract someone who wants
maybe an accountancy business,
or they want to walk horses or whatever.
That's so random; I don't know where that came from.
But attract people who want to build retreats,
or they want to run some sort of events.
- But loads of people join DARETOGROW
and then go into Alice's retreats, or join (murmuring),
and I think lots of people are on both of our programs
and some people tell me things about Alice.
I'm like, where did you find that?
How do you know that?
But just to add a bit of context
to what you were saying before,
like, with Alice and what she's done,
and her qualifications and everything,
and even with me, what I've done,
in sharing content to others (murmuring)
there's a huge part of her life and business--
- [Woman] That's hilarious.
- Yeah.
And it's hilarious because it's fun, it's easy to read.
It's like, by showing you what she's done,
she's showing you the methodology
of how she overcame certain things,
and you don't need to say to anybody.
So for any of you with qualifications,
you don't need to say you've got that qualification.
And if you don't have it,
you don't need to say you do.
Just show people what you know,
and that's where the whole thing about
helping people have a mini-transformation,
that is the proof that person needs.
So you said it doesn't matter what qualifications I've got.
I want in 'cause I've already given you something
where you're like, ooh, cool, what else?
(upbeat electronic music)
- [Woman] Oh, there we go.
- [Woman] There we go!
- [Woman] Okay, ready?
One, two, three! (murmuring)

What to do when your OP isn't what you expected. - Duration: 1:41.
If your child hasn't gotten the OP that they need to get into their dream
program it's not the end of the world they don't need to panic, they just need
to do some work to prepare on the alternate pathways that they can use to
get into those dream programs. Don't be scared of making the wrong choice
just enter into your first year doing whatever you think you might like, once
you get into the university it makes it a lot easier for you to be able to
transfer. If your student hasn't finished high school and is looking at entering
into university after a year or a couple of years break there's a couple of different options for them.
Rosi left year twelve without finishing she
was in her final semester but she has now made the decision that she does want
to pursue study and she has now sat the test for tertiary entrance Queensland.
They could explore a tertiary preparation program or a tertiary
preparation pathway through organisations like UQ College all the
way through to attending TAFE and undertaking part or a whole certificate
course and then using those results and that educational experience to move into the university space.
During Jack's course admissions and selection process
we had a minor hiccup which was unfortunate but the great thing was one
phone call to the faculty and they were onto it straightaway and we had an
outcome and a resolution within seven days my of first phone call.
So what we encourage is for you to get in touch if you're unsure about your QTAC
preferences and where your dream program should sit, get in touch with the
university and we can help you through that process.

[Level Rewards Review 2018] What Is Level Rewards? - Duration: 15:38.
Hey guys, Rigo here with a-level rewards video
We're also going to be going over what is level
rewards and and well I'm just gonna be talking about how how they how you can make money with level rewards you know how
How they give you money what it is you?
know it's it's it's not very complicated guys, but it's a little bit of a different way of making money online and
it could be you know it could come it could come in handy to people who
we don't have money to get started to have a little bit of money to get started you know if you want to just kind level rewards review
of invest a little bit or or there's ways to not invest anything at all
But the investment you know we're talking about like $1 sometimes with certain offers so
It's basically just for someone who for people who don't have a lot to invest or don't have anything to invest at all
You know just to kind of get you guys started on making money on learning how to market
on you know it's just kind of a kind of like a side hustle you can do you know
So but it's a great way to make some money on the side level rewards review
it's you know it's a great way to make some money on the side so you can invest that into another business you know and
scale that business so it's it or you know if you need some bills that need to get paid you know by
you know you need some bills or you need some Christmas gifts for for Christmas
You know it's just it's it's a good way to make some extra cash on the side guys so
So what is it what is level rewards?
well level rewards
Basically has these offers from let's go ahead and hit over to the offers here level rewards review 2018
Offers from a fortune 500 companies from huge companies here Dropbox is like a billion dollar
Billion dollar company but yeah so there's different offers guys big companies
Will pay you
To to get leads for them so just again leads there there doesn't need to be a sale
So you don't need to make a sale here
You can try out an offer and you keep it for 70% to 90%
of the time if you don't keep it that long then you won't
It won't you won't get credited the offer guys so don't if you try if you're trying out an offer
don't cancel it right away wait I let at least you know like level rewards 2018
70% to 90% of the trial so if you know if you're you got a 10 day trial to whatever offer you choose to do
stick with it like seven to nine days you know
Make it probably eight would be a little bit better stick to it eight days and then you can cancel if you want you know
we're not level rewards isn't telling anyone to
to try to an offer and counsel if you enjoy it keep it you know trying out what I I
did this offer click your scores and I checked out my credit score you know which was very cool I think
Yeah this is free guys
Yeah, because I remember one offer cost one dollar and then that was it and then I cancelled it and it was just one dollar
But this one it's just free so I guess it's free
cost one dollar one dollar
Free no card required some of these
Will require a bank card guys so you know don't freak out about it these are big companies
They're not giving away your information to anyone level rewards 2018
So but this one doesn't even need a card here so you can try that one out so that's what I mean
And sometimes they might I already have I'm not I already I'm on like a level ten
I think so and I'll go over that right now over the different levels and stuff so you know just be patient but um
Some of these you will need to be at least on level one so you can so you can do the the free
No card required ones some of them might it just it all depends guys
Some of them require you some of them doesn't matter you're not on any level you can just do them I
believe that's the way it used to be I don't know if things have changed like I mentioned I haven't
promoted this in a while but
Guys, it's not hard like I mentioned you know a dollar most people have a toddler too you know it's just you know buying
An Arizona I see you know just don't buy one next time you have stolen there's your dollar
I'll be a guy's some of these offers are free others you know cost money but you know that depends it's up to you you
can check them out yourself and decide what you want to do
So, what do I mean by levels so level rewards right
Actually did I I don't think I finished mentioning AAB yes so some so big companies out there
will
Give you a commission for just
Just getting a lead so level rewards that's what basically what they do they they you know they work with all these
huge
companies and then they
they get offers from these huge companies and
They're basically giving us the offers and then when we try them
You know that we try them or keep them that's you know up to the individual
but they get paid money from the companies to get us to do office for them
So they get paid money and then when we offer you know get other people to try these offers for them what is level rewards
Then level rewards will give us a percentage of that money
So that's basically how it works guys, that's how they can
That's how level rewards will send you money
without like a commission being made or without with a free offer you know you don't you don't pay any money and then and
Then you get someone else and that person doesn't pay any money either but level
Rewards can give you money can give you a commission even though there wasn't a cellmate at all guys
So that's what's really great about level rewards there doesn't need to be a cellmate and you're still gonna get paid
Which is awesome guys because I know some people don't like to sell they have a hard time closing a sale but here
You don't really necessarily need to make a sale you guys can just share offers and then you know let people know that oh well
You know you don't have to you just have to try out an offer you don't have to buy anything you know there's if you what is level rewards
Want to try it or an offer or you see something I bought a domain through level rewards through GoDaddy you know
And that's just something that I needed but I got I got to I
Got to try out that offer do it and I got some points for it. So let's let's go ahead and head to the
overall we're already here um
to the points to the point system here so I am on level 10 which means
that I have basically
one point
equals a five dollar Commission that you
can make from someone
So one point and all these different offers so these are the offers that I have like I mentioned I did Go Daddy
So all these different offers are worth different amounts of points
so click your scores, that's what I told you guys about that I did
click your score I did that offer and
I got 2 points for it right so each point equals 5 dollars if you get someone to
to
make to do an offer
Whatever point that offer is worth that's how much of a commission you will make that's how much money level rewards will send you and
by the way they can send you to a PayPal account to your bank account or to an Amazon Amazon gift card
So yeah guys I hope I'm not making this too, confusing but it's very very simple if you guys if you guys
created crea why join level rewards
Try out an offer like I mentioned I tried out all of these offers right I tried out all of these offers
So I am at level 10 if you add all of these up. I am at level 10
So, I have 10 credits here you guys can see I can make
$5 for every single credit there so I can currently earn up to
$50 per referral why is it per referral because it's up to the referral
what level they reach so if they only reach to level 5
they can only make
$25 per referral per person they refer so let's say that I'm on level on level ten right and
Then I refer someone and that person gets up to level 15 I
can only make a commission up to level 10
He level levels 11 12 13 14 15 all those levels all those commissions I won't get because I'm not at that level right
So you miss out on those commissions guys you'll be missing on
15 dollars I
Would be missing out on 15 dollars because each level is five dollars
Five times no I would be missing missing out on twenty five dollars actually because each each point is five dollars
So that's five points five times five equals 25
I know this sounds a bit confusing guys but it really isn't it's not it's very simple each point is worth
Each point is worth five dollars so
like I mentioned on my level 10
each one is worth $5 so I can earn up to
$50 per referral
so each
Person that I refer into the program
That starts trying out offers you know they want to try it offers they want to make some money I
can make only up to
$50 because I'm on level 10 if they go past that then I don't receive those commissions and they go on to level
15 and 20 I won't make I will make my Commission only up to level 10
after that I don't get the Commission guys
So that's why it's important to to try out offered yourself you know get up to level 5 if you want before you start promoting
to other people get up to level 5 at least that's what they recommend you get up to level 5 and
Then you can start promoting if you promote and you're not on any level then
You won't make any Commission guys if you're on level 5 then at least you can make twenty five dollars from each person you refer
Right, because you get on level five times five dollars each point it's 25 dollars so
So yeah that's very important. That you join level rewards and you level up as soon as
you join level rewards go through the offers page again like I mentioned um
it's very why join level rewards
It's simple guys you just you know it's you just go to the offers section you give you first of all you create your account
you go to the offer section and then and
Then you just see whatever you like you know there's anything you're interested in you know check it out
It's just big big companies like I mentioned most of them will need a bank card so
You know just be aware of that so there's a bunch a bunch of offers here guys
whatever you want you know you choose whatever you like
so
So yeah guys, that's pretty
much it that's what level rewards is I'll make another video on how I made the money that I have made which is
thirty-five dollars but I made it with
You know little to no effort very easy I'll show you guys how I did it in another video
Because this video is already too long and it's probably gonna take me a little bit it's not hard to explain but I
tend to go on in HoN guys so
So yeah it's pretty there's pretty much what level rewards is you
Can make and you know there's people making a lot more than I did I've made $35 but I haven't really promoted it at all
So that's that it's it's very simple guys you just have to know you know
Some days some things that you should be doing so and then there's training by the way there's training let me see if I can
Get down here there's some training here they provide these these uh
Landing pages for you so you can send these to people you
want to refer and then they can create their account and they'll get credit credited to your account
So let's see this is the well let's just wait for it to load here a little bit
So this is the sales page it's very cool it's free you
Know sometimes you have to pay for these things but this one level reward provides two different ones to you for free
So this video goes over basically what level rewards is and you know just kind of showing you
How it works?
It talks about level rewards you can register here
You there's a support group you can use and everyone shows them payment proof
Sub level no more worth paying them when, when I've gotten received my payments may come in like less than an hour guys
they're really fast straight to my PayPal account so they're really really fast why join level rewards
So you can join the Facebook support group here the training side here there's even a training set
Which is very cool so you can go through that and see
you know get some
valuable training and how do you know how to work level rewards
More income proofs or just people getting paid
more income proof here you know here Lauren so Hoffman to two thousand seven hundred dollars two thousand four hundred to Shelley and
People are posting their payment proof all the time on the Facebook group guys so you can you can join
You just go through this page of two thousand and thousand learning people making you know money every day
21. June 21 22 23 24 just as you guys can see it's a very very cool
Cool program very it's a difference you know kind of a different concept and the usual online marketing guys so
It's you know it's all about offers like I talked about that you know I think already I think you guys get the picture
But it's a different way of making money online
there doesn't need much of
an investment
It through some offers there's no investment needed
Some offers it's just a dollar investment and you can start you know turn that dollar into you know thousands here so
hundreds thousands it just depends on the work that you put in guys
So this is a very cool level rewards review 2018
sales pitch here you know fortune 500 companies
Talks about all it talks about the program basically what it is how you can get paid so really it's a really cool sales page
but
yeah guys
That's pretty much it little rewards that's how what it is that's how it works you know it's it's it's a form of CPA marketing?
So but it's I just think it's a very cool because there needs there doesn't need to be a sale made
There doesn't need to be a cell mate and you still get paid so you know not too. Many, businesses are like that
So, that's extremely cool for people this is because I'm you know
I'm trying to help you out guys out trying to it because a lot of people say they don't have any money to get started
In my other businesses so this is kind of my answer to that, okay?
Well you know let's see you
Can make some money with this you know even if you don't have a lot of money. So so that's what it is
I'll be making some more videos on
What rewards guys that's you know time goes on level rewards review
so if you guys want more information I should have a playlist from a while back that I'll be adding this video to
So you guys can check out more information on
Level rewards there so that's pretty much it guys I'll leave
My link below you guys can create your free account with level rewards by the way another cool thing that's free
another cool
Thing with level rewards is that it's 100% free so
You guys can create your free account and check it out you know check out all the offers and yeah
pretty simple guys you guys have any questions I'm gonna leave my facebook link my email
my link to level rewards to create your free account and
It's pretty much it thank you for watching my level rewards review video and I will see you in the next one bye Road

What does 'undetectable' mean? - Duration: 3:05.
Undetectable equals untransmittable.
It's the idea that has changed the world of sexual safety.
We now have tons of evidence to
show that people who take antiretroviral
medications can reduce the
amount of HIV in their blood to the
point that they can't transmit the virus.
It's one of the most important changes in
years in the fight against HIV and AIDS.
What does undetectable really mean?
The number of copies of HIV in a millilitre
of blood is what's called a viral load.
When taken properly, antiretroviral meds
reduce that viral load.
A low enough number means
you can't transmit HIV to anyone else.
How do we know that?
Researchers in Europe followed
almost 1,000 serodiscordant couples.
That means one of the partners
was HIV-positive and the other negative.
They looked for couples who didn't use condoms
and where the positive partner was taking
medication to suppress HIV.
The results were clear.
Not one person contracted
HIV from their positive partner
over the four-year study.
A follow-up study focusing on male
same-sex couples was just published in July.
It had the same results: undetectable
means untransmittable.
So let's back up.
What is undetectable?
First of all,
what we call undetectable is actually detectable.
Back in the '80s and '90s,
HIV viral load tests weren't nearly as good as they are now.
They needed hundreds or thousands of copies of HIV
in each millilitre of blood to show a positive result.
New HIV tests can show a positive result
with as few as 20 copies per millilitre.
So back then undetectable
meant something totally different
than what it does now.
But the name stuck.
After six months on antiretrovirals
most people will have a viral load of less than 50.
For the sake of clarity, most scientists now describe that level as
undetectable even though it's actually detectable.
So is taking antiretrovirals the same as being undetectable?
Usually, but not always.
Modern antiretrovirals are very effective,
but they don't work for everyone.
That could be because they're dealing with other health complications,
they experience serious side effects
or they can't access healthcare regularly.
Many people also deal with social barriers.
There's some troubling research that shows
less viral suppression among Indigenous
people in Canada compared to other people taking antiretrovirals.
Because of all that, the best bet
is six months on antiretrovirals
and then regular testing to make sure
you have an undetectable viral load.
So, is undetectable really equal to
untransmittable?
The short answer is yes,
but what's most important is that
everyone has access to regular testing
and medical care.

What Are The Principles Of Effective Communication? - Duration: 11:48.
So, if you ever experience a situation where you just cannot communicate with a
person that's important to you in your life. Either they don't understand you or
you don't understand them. Today we're going to talk about what are the
principles of effective communication.
You know, one of the most frustrating things that a person can experience is
when you have something important that you're trying to communicate to somebody
else and they just don't get it. They don't see it the way that you see it.
Have you had that experience where you've had an idea or you learn
something new and you're excited about it. And you want to go share it with
somebody else. And they just don't see it. They don't feel the same way that you do.
I remember one of the first times that this kind of really dawned on me and hit
me about one of the principles I'm going to teach today is when we were starting
our residential treatment program. We had to get approval from the city in order
to meet code, the the city had to approve a residential treatment center within
the boundaries of the city. Well, I was really excited about opening our
treatment center and I saw this Center as being a benefit not only to the girls
and the families that would come to our program but that it would be a benefit
to the community as well. This was in 2008. The economy was struggling and I
knew that we would be able to provide jobs for people in the community. And the
things that we would be teaching our students would also be things that would
benefit the lives of our staff who would be working with us. And so, all I could
see in my mind was win-win-win for this. And so, I went to the City
Council, presented our idea to them and I was so frustrated and disappointed when
members of the City Council did not want this residential treatment center in
their town. And they had all of these reasons for not wanting it. And I
remember coming out of that meeting being angry and being frustrated because
the other people couldn't see what I could see. And then it dawned on me.
It really isn't or wasn't their responsibility to see things the way
that I saw them. In their mind they had their own beliefs, their own mindset of
what they thought was the best thing for the community and they saw what I was
offering is something that would be something negative to the community. But
I realized then that it was my responsibility to figure out how to
communicate to them what I saw and in the way that I understood it. It wasn't
their responsibility to understand me. It's my... It was my responsibility
to figure out how to communicate effectively with them. So, with that, there
are 2 parts of communication. There's the sending of the information
and then there's the receiving of the information. It's pretty simple and yet
there is so much miscommunication that goes on in our lives. I'm sure you've
experienced situations where you thought that you were on the same page with
somebody else, you had had a conversation a discussion about something. Came away
with an agreement or perceived understanding only to find out later
that both of you understood what you had talked about in a different way. And the
outcome was not what you thought that it was going to be. One of the reasons for
that is in communication, we tend to rely very heavily on the words that we use
and yet our words, really only make up about 7% of all of our communication. All
of the rest of the communication is made up of body language, our tone of voice
and all of those other things that come into it's also affected by our own
filters. So, depending on the place that you're at and what's going on in your
mind, you may be in a negative State. And therefore, everything that you hear is
going to be filtered through that negative filter. And so, I might be in a
positive State and my filter is totally different than yours. So, I may be using
words that mean one thing to me but they mean something else to you. So there's so
many different things that affect the words that we use and that communication
going back and forth. So, one really simple technique that you can use when
you're wanting to communicate an idea to somebody else is just to make sure that
they understand exactly what it is that you're trying to communicate with them.
So instead of just assuming that they understand what I said and just moving
on, after I've made a statement or explained my point of view, the best
thing that I can do is check in with them and I can say, "So, share with me what
it is that you heard me say. Or will you tell me what you heard me say? Or what is
your understanding of what I just expressed to you?" That then gives the
person an opportunity in their own words to share back with me what I just shared
with them. And that gives me an opportunity to make sure that they understood it in
exactly the way that I was trying to present it. If not, then it gives me the
opportunity to clarify and then ask again. And that back and
forth can happen until there's a clear agreement on both sides of what was
stated and what was being communicated. Now, if I'm on the receiving end of
communication, the same thing occurs, right? That I think that I understood
what the person was saying and often times, that I misunderstood with that. And
so, one of Stephen Covey 7 Habits of Highly Effective People is... And this
is one of the tools that helps improve relationships is seek first to
understand then to be understood. So, oftentimes in conversations, we're so
busy trying to get the other person to see things the way that we see them and
to understand things the way we understand. That we're not concerned
about the other person's point of view. And because of that, we create roadblocks
or miscommunication because if both of us are just interested in trying to get
the other to see it the way that we see it, we're never going to come to a common
understanding. And so, if I'm on the receiving end, my first goal is, "I want to
make sure that I understand what it is that you're communicating with me." Too
often when somebody else is talking, we don't even completely hear them out
because we're thinking about what we're going to say in response. Instead of
hearing the whole message and making sure that we understand it completely. So
there will be time later to share your thoughts, your opinions. But in the moment,
when the other person is talking, focus on making sure that you understand the
message that they're sending. And once the person has finished talking, then
when I'm on the receiving end, I can actually do the same
thing that I could do if I was the one sending the information. I could say to
the person, "So, I want to just make sure I understand you correctly. So, what you're
saying is..." And then I share back to them in my own words my understanding of
their thought idea or opinion. And again, then we can go back and forth until we
get to a place where both of us know that we have that common understanding.
So, 2 principles of effective communication is (1) make sure that the
message that I'm sending is the message that the other person is receiving. And
if I'm on the receiving end I want to make sure that the message that I'm
receiving is the message that's being sent. One thing with this when you when
you begin to do this in your conversations and in your relationships
is it may seem to slow the conversation down a little bit and it may feel a
little bit awkward at first. So, just begin to practice it and it's
probably more important to do this in conversations that are important. So if
you're having a serious conversation with somebody, these are 2 tools.
Whether you're on the the sending end or the receiving end of what you can do to
make sure that the communication and what's happening in that discussion
ends up in a way of where both sides understand what the other is saying and
trying to and the message that you're trying to get across. In just casual
conversations, the more you practice it, the more it will begin to just be
natural. That in your discussions, you're autopilot now is whenever you
hear a message from somebody else, you just check in and you just say, "So, what I
heard you say is..." Or "I just want to make sure I understand this." And as you do
this, your communication with others will improve, your
overall relationships will improve and your effectiveness in working with other
people will improve. Thanks for watching today. I encourage you to try and
implement what we talked about today and to make sure that these are the message
that you're sending or the message that you're receiving is what the other
person is saying or hearing. And let me know how this works for you. If you have
other things in your life that you're struggling with or that you would like

Jazz Phrasing - This is What You Want to Know - Duration: 10:21.
(jazzy guitar music)
- Hi everybody my name is Jens Larsen.
You probably know the feeling of writing a line
using all the right arpeggios the target notes,
it's moving forward and when you play it
it still doesn't really sound that great.
In fact it doesn't really sound like jazz at all.
At least is something that I remember having had
troubles with once in awhile when I was studying.
And there are actually some rules about what
makes a great jazz line and what
doesn't really work as a great jazz line.
So in this video I'm going to cover one rule that
you really need to check out for this.
I'm going to cover some examples of how you implement
that into your lines,
how you use that when you are writing something.
And I'm also going to go over an example of
Wes Montgomery because he really gets this right.
If you want to learn about jazz guitar,
improve the way that you solo,
check out some interesting arpeggios and chord versings,
then subscribe to my channel.
If you want to make sure not to miss anything
then click the little bell notification icon
next to the subscribe button.
First I'm going to cover how to construct lines
that are easier to phrase well and get to sound good.
And then I'm going to talk a little bit about
How to get those into your playing through listening
other people and hearing it in your own playing.
I'm going to do that by covering a few bars
from a Wes Montgomery solo.
(jazz guitar)
This is really about how you phrase your 8th note lines
and especially it's about where you put the accents
in the 8th note lines.
And in this first example is actually an example of
a line that doesn't really work in that respect,
because here the harmony's clear it's clearly D minor G 7
C major 7 and we are hitting all the chord tones
in the right place but at the same time,
the line and the melody doesn't really pop.
We can't really put any nice accents,
because what we have here is phrasing wise is this.
Do da do da de da de da do da.
So do doo do do doo do.
Everything is on the beat everything is heavy.
It sounds more like Megadeth
than it sounds like Charlie Parker.
If you think about how Charlie Parker line sound
or how a Bebo line should sound then you're
probably coming up with something that's more
like (bebopping)
So I use sort of singing as a reference here
because I think very often even without thinking
about it if you start trying to improvise
some rhythm on top of a tempo then
you already have an idea about what it's supposed
to sound like.
And you just need to tap into that when you're
trying to come up with lines.
(jazzy notes)
In the example where our singing a phrase that
sounds more like bebop then if you slow it down
you can hear that the accents I'm doing.
So you can hear the line is really just a flow
of 8th notes and then some notes are popping out
and getting an accent.
And even when you can't hear what notes I'm singing,
that's just the main idea of what is happening.
And that's really what makes it sound like a bebop phrase.
So we need to figure out how to construct melodies
where we naturally can put those accents on the offbeat
within the bar.
Let's just take a look at a few examples.
I'm just going to do some examples on a C major 7
and then show you how you can easily add those tabs
for accents to your lines.
The rule that I am using here is actually quite simple.
Melodically what has to happen is that we want to have
a high note on the offbeat and that means that it has
to be high on the note that follows it.
And that's what I'm doing in this example as well.
I'm starting on the B going up to the C,
and then the next note after the C because I want to
give the C an accent
then the next note has to be lower,
so I'm going down to B.
And then continuing down the arpeggios.
This is really just a C major 7 arpeggio.
And then so I have an accent on the on hand right?
And then I can do a similar idea here where I skip
up to A and I give that an accent
and go down to the G and then further down
an A minor arpeggio.
So A minor 7 and then ending the line on the D.
Now we can do the same but then to try to get an accent
on the two end and then the four end,
instead of just on the one end and the three end.
And here I'm doing that by first playing
C major 7 arpeggio.
So then I want to create it so that I want to have
an accent on B so that means that the next note
I play after the B has to be lower.
And I'm putting off down to an A.
And that gives us that accent.
And notice that when I'm doing this and this is happening
throughout all these examples.
I'm staying in one position so it's only going to
be pull offs and hammer ons I can do.
But actually in this case because I'm moving down
it's only going to be pull offs.
You can also do this with slides,
but the idea is that I'm using legato to get the accent.
And I'm doing that by picking the note that needs an accent,
like the B here and the pulling off to the A,
because that's naturally going to make the A
a little bit softer and it's gonna help the B stand out.
So that's the accent on the B if I then continue
from the A I'll move up the scale and then up to E,
pulling off down to D so that gives the E an accent.
And then just finishing the line with this fragment
where I'm ending on the two end on the G.
And here I'm mixing another verse so first we get an accent
on the two end so we're really just starting on the G
and then I'm playing sort of the G major chord pattern,
pulling off from the high D down to a B on the third beat.
So there we get an accent.
And then I'm adding an accent on the three end as well,
by playing the A pulling off to the G.
So down to the E C
and then from E to D with a
pull off which gives me an accent on the one end.
And ending on the B.
And of course you can do the same with the
two for one like I am doing in this example.
So the first part is just an enclosure of the root
of the first chord D so E and C sharp down to the D,
then up the scale skipping up to C.
And then I can pull off to B on the G7 and that way
I'm creating an accent on the C.
And then moving up further through the G7 arpeggio
So D F G and here the G is not given an accent
because the next one is an F.
So then further down the scale skipping up to A,
and again A is a high note so it's higher than the
G that I'm resolving to and I can use a pull off for that.
Then ending on E.

(jazz guitar)
Besides knowing the rules and knowing how you can construct
phrases that sound good like this it's also important
that you start working on recognizing it in the music
that you listening to so that you just get it
into your ears and that way get into your system.
Because in the end you cannot think about phrasing when
you're trying to solo.
This has to be something that's really just in your system,
and that just comes out naturally,
and is already in the lines of your playing.
Otherwise if you have to think of it while you are
playing then you're probably not going to be able to
play anything that makes any sense.
So now I'm just going to take a look at this fragment from
a Wes Montgomery solo.
This is just the opening phrase of his solo on four and six
off the Smokin' at the Half Note album.
And he starts with really just sort of a blues phrase
like this sliding key of D up to and that's half notes
there's not accents involved in this.
That's also something that's kinda clear about especially
Wes's playing is that sometimes he'll play phrases
that are really sparse and then you don't have all the
8th notes and all the accents.
You don't have to worry too much about it.
At the same time the next phrase that he plays
is really clearly even though it is like G minor pentatonic.
or key minor blues.
It's clearly a line that has that accent because we get
an accent on the B but on the C,
and especially also he is using the pull offs so.
And then adding the D afterwards.
Then the next part is just a G minor 11 arpeggio.
The first part doesn't really have any accents.
After the eleven and then we just get this phrase
where we get the accent on the three end.
And if you listen to this and if you try to play along
with solos that you know
and in that way try to copy their phrasing
then it's gonna get a lot easier for you to get
this into your playing so one part of this is
understanding how it works and figuring out why
some of the lines that you are making doesn't work
and give you a way to fix it.
And the other part of this is really trying to imitate
solos and trying to recognize good phrasing in
the solos that you're listening to because once you
are aware of it you can start getting it into
your own playing but you need to be able to hear it
and you also need to notice it.
If you want to check out another video on the great
phrasing of Wes Montgomery and also how he is really
extraordinarily good at constructing melodies
within his solos then check out this video where I'm
analyzing a few lines from some later passages in
this solo on four on six.

KERCH STRAIT: What Western Media Won't Tell You (From the Man Himself) - Duration: 6:59.
[Putin]: Regarding the incident in the Black Sea.
It was a provocation, undoubtedly.
A provocation that was organized by the current authorities.
I think even by the current President.
In the run-up to the Presidential elections in Ukraine, in March of next year.
The ratings of the current President are on number five, I think.
He even has a chance not to enter the second round.
That's why something needed to be done to aggravate the situation.
And to create insurmountable obstacles for his opponents.
Above all from the opposition.
Why do I think this and why am I sure, even, that this is how it is?
Look.
An incident happened in the Black Sea.
It was really a border incident, not more than that.
But what happened in 2014?
When Crimea decided to join Russia.
That was an entirely different story - a massive one.
Or the more severe events during the civil war in Ukraine in the south-east.
In Donbass and Luhansk.
With the use of tanks, heavy artillery and even aviation by the government forces.
War, essentially!
And no kind of martial law was introduced.
But now a small incident in the Black Sea
and they have introduced martial law in the country.
But clearly this is done in the run-up to the Presidential elections.
It's an absolutely obvious fact.
But now regarding the incident itself and the provocation, more specifically.
And this is definitely a provocation.
Look. In September of this year,
quite a similar convoy or fleet
of military ships of Ukraine
went through the Kerch Strait, under the Kerch Bridge in the Sea of Azov.
They fully fulfilled the agreements and requirements.
They reported their makeup [of ships], who is going, where they were going.
We gave them a maritime pilot and calmly led them to the designated destination in the Azov Sea.
What happened now?
They did not respond at all to the requests of our border officials.
They entered our territorial waters.
Pay attention to the fact that they entered the territorial waters that existed even before Crimea joined the Russian Federation.
So in that location where the territorial waters always existed.
Precisely as Russian territorial waters.
Not responding to requests of our border officials, they started to move towards this bridge.
On the proposal to go to the anchorage - they didn't react.
On the proposal to receive a maritime pilot, even after their violation of our state border,
they still were proposed a maritime pilot!
Silence... nobody answered, at all.
So how should the border officials react?
Military ships, in violation, entered the territorial waters of the Russian Federation.
And they don't even answer! Nobody knows what they are about to do.
How should they act?
If they acted otherwise, they should have all been put on trial.
They fulfilled their active duty,
their order.
Actually, they fulfilled their lawful functions in defense of the territorial integrity of the Russian Federation.
I think they would have acted the same way in your country.
It's absolutely obvious.
Moreover, it appeared that among the members of the crew
there were two members of the Ukrainian Security Forces
that actually were the ones conducting this special operation.
And they admitted that they were members of the Ukrainian Security Services.
These are obvious signs that it was all prepared beforehand.
A provocation that was counted on to use as a pretext to introduce martial law in the country.
This has nothing to do in relation to attempts at resolving relations between Russia and Ukraine.
This is a game on aggravation.
This is an unscrupulous game within the country.
With the goal of suppressing political opponents.
You know.. sometimes it's strange to look at, but I'm used to a lot of things.
But today's Kiev authorities successfully sell anti-Russian sentiments.
They have nothing else left and nothing to sell.
I have a feeling that whatever they do,
it gets away from them.
If they demand babies for breakfast, they would probably be served babies. They'd say: 'Why not, they are hungry, what is to be done about it?'
But this is a short-sighted policy.
It will not lead to anything good.
Because it makes the current Ukrainian leadership complacent.
And it does so in such a way that it discourages them from doing normal political work within the country.
And from introducing a normal, economic policy.
They have economic problems and in the social sphere and in finances.
With an outstretched hand they are begging for money in the IMF.
But some day the future generations will have to pay it back.
And from the point of view of relations with other organizations; there's also nothing good happening on that front.
Regarding long-term perspectives,
whatever happens or whoever would be in power in Kiev,
the Russian and Ukrainian people have always been and will always be brotherly and close people.
This political foam will dissipate.
The Ukrainian people will one day assess today's authorities.
The same way that the Georgian people rated the actions of Saakashvili.

okay now a wet active pattern is going to continue for the west over the next
few days across the Pacific Northwest California and northern central Rockies
now the heavy rain precipitation will continue today across California as a
frontal system moves across toward the central Great Basin area by tomorrow
precipitation will shift mostly to the Great Basin area now we had an upper
level disturbance dropped down yesterday from Canada and this system will bring
light snow and freezing rain to portions of the Dakotas and Minnesota now this is
light snow and freezing rain now the High Plains southward into the southern
plains can expect temps well above average for the next few days expect
below average temps though in California and the central Great Basin because of
the active weather pattern out west now with mostly normal temps that's going to
be for the Pacific Northwest and mountain range I know a lot of us on the
East Coast and mid-atlantic her it has been cold cold cold but by this weekend
we're going to warm back up into the 50 60 s and by Sunday it might even be 75
at now as we move ahead to the month of December the 1st through the 5th of
December this is what it may look like that's right now we're going to start
with this weekend and the storm going on so we'll turn this on right quick and
the storm system is tracking northeastward from the eastern plains
and mid upper mississippi valley this weekend is going to bring in ray of
significant weather to the eastern half of the country showers and thunderstorms
and the warm sector of the system will produce some areas of very heavy
rainfall and potentially strong to severe confection so we could have some
bad thunderstorm severe thunderstorms coming up we'll have to keep our eyes
out and watch on it now locations to the north west of the surface Lloyd track
may see a band of heavy snow along with brisk - strong winds and we've had winds
already today looked like some mores going to be coming up the first week of
December now low pressure upper troughing that initially moves into the
west will produce areas of rain and higher elevation snow a short wave
energy ejects eastward and there is considerable uncertainty right now over
the coverage intention being type of precipitation over the eastern half of
the country by early mid next week now the southern stream trough and upper low
approach in California later in the period will likely bring an area of rain
and mountain snow Tuesday or Wednesday by that area expect high temperatures 20
May 10 to 20 Fahrenheit above normal from the Gulf Coast to the Great Lakes
during the weekend coming up ahead of the strong storm system affecting the
eastern half of the now some morning may exceed 20 Fahrenheit above normal
much colder weather will settle in across the western US courtesy of the
amplifying upper-level trough and then expand eastward now we could have
anomalies of 10 to 20 Fahrenheit below normal for us and that will expand from
the Great Basin through the Rockies and intervene so much of the lower 48 should
see below normal temps by the middle of next week
the first week of December now talking about the thunderstorm activity coming
up for this coming weekend this is Friday around 8 a.m. it's just beginning
to start these might have a little severity to them but not nothing out of
the ordinary we will move up to around 2:00 p.m. Friday afternoon we can see
that in northern Louisiana much much is going on and this orange band looks like
it could have some confection in it 8 p.m. Friday night big time here it all
comes over in Texas Oklahoma Arkansas lots of possibility of severe
thunderstorms up in here as they move over into Mississippi just got some rain
going on in western Tennessee at this time so we will move on up to around
10:00 p.m. now it's really the popping up the different little pockets of
confection or beginning to expand some we will go up to Saturday around 6:00
a.m. seems to die die down just a hair as they move on across to the east this
is Saturday around 11:00 a.m. Saturday morning Florida Panhandle you guys right
in this area you could have some heavy thunder shower activity going on 4:00
p.m. Saturday afternoon we can see it moving right on across this is going to
last through Sunday now at least so will hop on over to around midnight this is
midnight Sunday will move to around 11 a.m. Sunday morning
looks like a very heavy thunderstorm going on here down in the panhandle of
Florida at 8:00 p.m. Sunday you can see it's moving on out to sea now so far I
don't show Maine up in here but Maine's not gonna have any also Long Island at
some point you could have some severe thunderstorms over here in the Panhandle
again these are moving up into Alabama and Georgia as you can see and by
midnight Monday morning it's just getting over to me stretching all the
way through okay this is 3:00 a.m. coming up Monday morning they will
