Abdolkarim Soroush: Were the Shia Imams infallible & did they have knowledge of the unseen? - Duration: 6:53.

I should tell you all in this way that,

Shia and Sunni

are two interpretations of Islam.

Like I told you in the beginning,

that the history of Islam is nothing but a history of the interpretations of Islam that were made

We should never give the impression that, the Messenger of Islam was an unsuccessful man;

and that after him, his nation went entirely in a wrong path;

on a path that he wouldn't approve.

That there is just this one minority remaining,

in which they are on the right path that the Prophet was on.

No! This nation that the Prophet produced,

which today is basically 90% Sunni

and 10% is Shia,

they are all Muslim.

Of course, they have their own interpretations of Islam.

Shiites used to say good things,

although in practice they've done bad things.

As Shiites, we have to know this.

The saying of the Shiites was originally this;

so that we don't lose the Prophet, we have to take hold of Ali.

Are you listening?

This was a very good plan. It was a righteous saying.

I'm not saying that all of them were saying this with such clarity, purity and bright manner.

But if we want to understand the gist of their message

and sincerely explain it, it's this;

Okay now that the Prophet has left this world,

in order for us to have accessibility to the Prophet,

which way is most assured?

So were many claimants to this.

There were many different sayings.

Contingencies and incidental affairs also emerged.

Okay so Ali perchance did not become the first Caliph,

Abu Bakr perchance became the first Caliph.

This all could have happened a different way, turned out in another way.

In all this, none of it has to do with any principle of faith or pillar of religion

These were all contingencies of history;

Such as Ali was killed in such a way,

and I don't know, the Khawarij coming to the battlefield

and scheming and committing criminal acts,

However this was eventually what happened.

Ok so one group used to think to themselves,

we want to be the followers of the Prophet;

the real followers of the Prophet.

Now who's door should we go to;

and from where should we obtain assurance,

that we can most soundly, most cleanly, most properly obtain the teachings of the Prophet?

Their assessment was that, well

we can refer/lookup to Ali.

He would more conveniently and more safely lead us to the Prophet.

And others similarly in other ways.

This was the summary of their message.

One of the Shiite/followers of Imam Ja'far as-Sadiq ( the 6th Shia Imam),

asked him: what is Shi`ism?

He said this same message.

He said when differences of opinion emerge,

I take that word that Ali said;

It is a more confident way, a safer way.

Really, this is also what I am now telling you all. This is Shiism.

The rest of the things you should all forget about;

such as the Imams being infallible, such as the 12th Imam existing or not,

this and that..

These, these are not even a part of original Shiism.

This idea of infallibility... Imams would teach to their closest friends;

They never wanted wanted people to have these beliefs of infallibility.

Many of the followers of the Imams,

in their own time understood them as imams or scholars that were pure, or pious scholars;

there was nothing more than this about them that they believed.

We today are Shiites that are extreme/exaggerators.

Remember this.

We are the people of extremism/exaggeration.

This is the heritage of Shiism that has unfortunately been left for us.

I wrote about this Shia salutatory prayer that commonly exists called Ziyarat Al-Jami'a Kabira,

they sing this at the sacred sites;

this is a program of the extreme Shiites.

In order to know an extreme/deviant Shiite,

the exaggerated things that they say about the Imams;

that's where you have to read. That the sustenance of creation is in their hands,

When we are raised on the day of Resurrection, we will go to them,

they will check our deeds and accounting...

and such and such..

This is a prayer program of an extreme/deviant Shiite.

And we Iranians are extreme/deviant Shiites.

Remember this.

Shiism in the beginning was not this. It was not this.

It was a moderate thing;

It had a representation;

They were scholars that were pious/abstemious,

that we name them as Imams.

And both Shia and Sunni agree that they were people who pure, righteous;

there was not a smear in their lives, they were learned.

Their sayings were worth following; but things such that they received revelation,

inspiration, that they were infallible

etc., they had knowledge of the unseen..

these things you should abandon.

These were not in Shiism. These infiltrated later,

these things were invented by extreme/deviant Shiites.

By this reason, Shia and Sunni in the beginning didn't even have much of a difference.

Such as today how they both oppose each other,

or how they (Shia-Sunni) opposed each other in the Safavid era,

is also not how it originally was. It wasn't like this in the beginning.

Imam Ali himself named his sons Umar, Abu Bakr..

Imam Jafar Al-Sadiq himself named his daughter Aisha.

I had a friend who said he used to sit with a scholar,

and one of the believers went to the shrine of Imam Musa Al-Kadhim (the 7th Imam) for intercession prayer,

and Imam Musa Al-Kadhim didn't engage with him.

He said sir, I was a follower and friend of yours, how come you don't pay attention to me anymore?

He said because you had a daughter and named her Aisha.

So then this friend of mine who had read history, went to the scholar and said but sir you know that Imam Musa al-Kadhim himself had a daughter named Aisha..

He wondered why did this scholar get mad at me? He wouldn't speak to me till the end of the sitting.

He didn't have any answer for me.

These type of sayings came later,

Imam Jafar Al-Sadiq himself was the great grandson of Abu Bakr,

would he supposedly insult his great grandfather, curse him?

Shiism was originally this that emerged;

It had a righteous, moderate, and sensible origin.

I'm not saying everyone spoke like this,

I'm speaking to the Shiites of this time that

it was such an origin and it was such a sensible idea hat existed.

And no one could have opposed this.

Then later it went towards the issue of war, the issue of power,

And extremists/exaggerators, these deviant Shiites came

who muddied the waters/contaminated the teachings which till today the water has remained muddy...

Royal Family News_Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have DIFFERENT royal roles to Will and Kate - Duration: 3:24.

meghan markle

meagan Markel secrets exposed in new TV Megan Markel and Prince Harry have

different royal roles - Will and Kate for this reason megan Markel and prince

harry returned from their 16 day Australasia tour this week and after a

successful trip the pair is likely to undertake considerably different royal

duties than to that of William and Kate according to Royal commentator Claudia

Joseph dot Prince Harry 34 has now returned from his trip with Megan Markel

37 where the couple explored Australia New Zealand Fiji and Tonga the Duke and

Duchess kicked off their royal tour in Sydney on October 15th by announcing

they are expecting their first child royal commentator claudia joseph

believes the success of the tour now means megan and harry will follow

different paths than the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge who will remain

touring Britain rather than the Commonwealth Miss Joseph told Sky News I

think this trip really showed the different paths they are going to take I

think we are going to see more and more of William and Kate as Team GB for

obvious reasons and Harry and Megan I think will be team Commonwealth I think

they will do a lot of touring they have a natural affinity with people they are

both very bubbly and very relaxed and I think that is what is going to happen

the Royal expert also referred to a moment on the tour when Harry and Megan

broke protocol and took their shoes and socks off to walk along Australia's

iconic Bondi Beach dot Miss Joseph warned Harry and Megan could take it too

far and be seen across the globe as celebrities rather than royalty she said

William and Kate have been spotted with their socks off as well and Camilla also

walked along Bondi Beach in her tights she didn't have bare feet but I think

there isn't quite the protocol that everybody thinks but equally I think

Harry and Megan especially and to a certain extent William and Kate they do

want to behave like us and they do want to be normal as much as they possibly

can whether they will take that too far and become so accessible that they take

away from the mystique of royalty which I think the Queen has done so well is

the fact that she doesn't talk about herself

. you don't see what is going on and the inner workings behind the scene and the

more accessible that they are perhaps the more they will be treated like film

stars i mean we have seen that with the photographs in the south of france of

kate sunbathing the comments follow a new study which finds that kate the

duchess of cambridge is the most influential royal in the united states

in terms of her style UK consulting firm brand finance surveyed 1515 americans

across the country to gauge their feelings towards the British royal

family brand finance director Alex hay said in the report the monarchy is one

of the most defining features of brand Britain and the Royal impact on the

desirability of British luxury brands cannot be overstated endorsement by any

royal but particularly the Duchess's is like the mythical golden touch and can

transform a brand's performance overnight but mr. Hays data also showed

both - s's are highly influential in the u.s. the research cites the Kate

Middleton effect as a key reason for the Duchess of Cambridge's continuing

fashion influence

Refrigeration experts from Bort de Graaf have turned to Alfa Laval's semi-welded technology. - Duration: 3:41.

My name is Jacob de Graaf. I work at Bort de Graaf Refrigeration Technology.

We are one of the most innovative refrigeration installers in the world.

And we are specialists in CO₂ refrigeration systems.

The most challenging thing working with CO₂ is the high pressure.

You need a heat exchanger for ammonia and CO₂.

This heat exchanger is the most crucial part of your entire system.

But it's also the part that will give you the most trouble if you have issues with it.

We tried all sorts of heat exchangers, but we had issues with leaks.

Alfa Laval came to us with their semi-welded heat exchanger.

And when they said, "we guarantee that there won't be any – never ever

whatever happens – there won't be any leaks from the CO₂ to the ammonia side."

Then we said "well, we just have to go for it."

Our customer in this specific case was a poultry processor. One thing they do, and this was

the main reason for building the installation, is freeze a large portion of the chicken.

And they asked us to build an installation that could freeze 110 tonnes

of chicken meat every 24 hours – from fresh to -18° Celsius.

We needed to extract every last percent of efficiency from the installation.

There wasn't any margin for error in this case. If you have a leak in such an installation

you will have to stop production, if you are very fast, for 2-3 days.

But it could even take a week or more.

Based on our experience, we chose to work with Alfa Laval heat exchangers

which we know do what they are designed to do.

We started the system, and we were like, "yeah, finally something that does what was promised."

We feel like working with Alfa Laval is a partnership.

Alfa Laval brings in their design suggestions in a way that you feel that they're cooperating.

We often complain that our suppliers don't really add value to our knowledge

that we know more about the product than they do. And that's not what you actually want.

It's nice to know how stuff works, but if you want to go to a higher level

you need a supplier that can help you achieve that higher level.

And I know that Alfa Laval they really know what they are doing. Alfa Laval wants their product to perform.

They want us to be able to get the maximum performance out of their products.

What we have learned from this case is that, after trying all sorts of heat exchangers

we finally found the heat exchanger for cascade systems that suits us.

That does what is promised, and on which we can build for the future.

Why Do Comets Have Tails? - Duration: 2:03.

Comets are small celestial bodies that orbit the Sun, made of frozen ammonia,

methane, water ice, carbon dioxide, and small rocky materials. They have very

highly eccentric elliptical orbits - much more elliptical than the planets in our

solar system. As a comet approaches the Sun, the Sun heats it up melting and

vaporizing it's icy materials. This releases the cloud of dust and gas

around the nucleus and is known as the coma. The particles are then blown up by

the solar radiation and solar wind forming two tails. The dust tail composed

of dust particles and the ion tail made of gases electrically charged by the Sun

which typically glows blue. Short period comets with orbital periods of less than

200 years come from the Kuiper Belt, a disc composed of mainly icy bodies that

stretches out from Neptune's orbit to about 50 au from the Sun. Long period

comets with orbital periods of more than 200 years come from the Oort Cloud. The

edge of the Sun's gravitational influence 50,000 to 200,000 au from the

Sun. Comet leftovers create meteor showers. Comets form a dust tail or a

meteorite stream and when the Earth passes through the stream, we see a

meteor shower. Periodic comets are indicated with P/ followed by the year of its

discovery, a letter indicating the half month in which it was discovered,

followed by the number indicating its order of discovery. A second periodic

comet found in the first half of January 2015 would be called P/2015 A2.

Non periodic comments would be indicated with C/

instead of P/. Scientists have discovered about 5000

comets so far and there are more out there. Some of these comments are

Hale-Bopp, Hyakutake, Lovejoy, Shoemaker-Levy 9, and Halley.

Thanks for watching and keep looking up! :)

These Amazing Geniuses Have No Education - Duration: 9:11.

Do you really need a formal education to prosper or just become incredibly intelligent?

It depends what you study, but in most disciplines, if people are committed enough, they can certainly

teach themselves.

We call these people autodidacts, and sometimes they outshine folks with formal educations.

"The importance of the individual life may always be denied by the 'educator' whose

pride it is to breed mass-men," Swiss psychiatrist Carl Jung once said.

Autodidacts are often mavericks, their minds far more capable than the teachers that might

have taught them.

They must work harder, as getting your foot in the door or being published is not always

easy without embossed certificates and contacts made at institutions.

They are a special breed, and today we'll discuss some of the best of them, in this

episode of the Infographics Show, Ten of the world's most brilliant uneducated geniuses.

Before we start we'll add a bit of a disclaimer.

We are not saying that these people had absolutely no formal education, only that for the most

part they were self-taught.

Albert Einstein failed some exams and was likely not even understood by some of his

teachers.

He read Immanuel Kant at 11-years old!

Not an easy thing for an adult.

But he did have a formal education.

Bill Gates left Harvard, but we can't call him a bone fide autodidact.

Today we'll focus on people that really did do most of their learning outside of schools

and universities.

As we get to the end, you might just be very surprised who changed the world without an

education.

10: Michael Faraday Who would have thought that this man born

into poverty on the mean streets of South London in the late 18th century would end

up becoming one of the world's greatest scientists?

He discovered electromagnetic induction and was responsible for the electric transformer

and generator.

As it says in one of his bios, "This discovery was crucial in allowing electricity to be

transformed from a curiosity into a powerful new technology."

How did this happen?

Well, it wasn't from going to school.

He left school at age 14 without much of an education and spent the next seven years working

as an apprentice for a bookbinder.

But it was his avid reading of scientific books where he gained all his knowledge.

He eventually got his foot in the door at the Royal Institution, which is a British

organization dedicated to scientific research.

From there the only way was up and into the halls of academic history.

9: Mark Twain One of America's most renowned intellectuals

whose quotes, or aphorisms, people still frequently use today.

He is probably best known for his novels "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer" and "The Adventures

of Huckleberry Finn" but his wisdom and understanding of human nature was arguably

unsurpassed at the time.

He was much more than a mere novelist, but a social critic and phenomenal man of letters.

Twain was a critic of formal education.

He is famous for saying, "I never let my schooling interfere with my education."

But he wasn't always against formal education, just the way it was taught.

He mirrored Jung in that he believed it created mass-men, and was too narrow in its focus.

To prosper one had to read and be more curious.

As for his education, it stopped after Elementary School.

At age 11, or possibly 12, he became an apprentice at a printing firm.

It wouldn't be long until his own words were being printed.

8: Benjamin Franklin How did a boy that left school at the age

of 10 become a man most Americans agree is one the most important people that ever graced

the new land?

The founding father not only helped pen The Declaration of Independence, but he was what's

called a polymath, meaning his skills were almost never-ending.

He wrote, he invented, he was a statesman, an activist, a humorist, a scientist, and

all in all a major figure in the American Enlightenment period.

One of 17 children, it's said his parents couldn't afford schooling, but that didn't

matter as the boy was said to be a voracious reader.

Like Twain, he also became a printer's apprentice.

He ran away to Philadelphia at age 17 and it wasn't long until he became involved

in community activism, knowing how well printing could further that activism.

He soon got involved with publishing newspapers, among many other things, and you can see his

face now if you get your hands on a $100 bill.

7: Jimi Hendrix OK, so you weren't expecting this man to

be on the list.

But can you deny that Hendrix wasn't a musical genius?

Has there ever been a better guitar player?

We want you folks out there to be inspired, so you need to know that Hendrix grew up with

often violent, alcoholic parents.

He left school without anything resembling a decent education, aged 16.

But he had been playing guitar since the age of 11.

So, this is not a case of read, read, read, but practice, practice, practice.

We could also have added David Bowie or Bruce Springsteen, but the list of great uneducated

musicians is endless.

6: Nikola Tesla Mr. Tesla isn't like the other people on

this list in that he did attend university.

But we are calling him an autodidact as he was a drop-out and never had any outstanding

formal qualifications.

The former gambling addict ended up working as a draftsman and was a long way from being

one of the greatest scientists ever.

But he gradually worked his way into his chosen field, despite a nervous breakdown, and ended

up as chief electrician at the Budapest Telephone Exchange.

He worked from the ground up and soon made a name for himself working for the Société

Electrique Edison aged 26.

11 years later he would form the Nikola Tesla Company.

5: Alan Moore We could have mentioned many, many novelists,

big names like Herman Hesse, Henry Miller, Truman Capote, Joseph Conrad, but we thought

we'd talk about Moore as even you non-readers of novels will likely know him.

Most writers will tell you that like music, you have to practice rather than study.

The British writer has written some of the most profound comics ever written, often way

more insightful than anything out there.

Moore is called an occultist and anarchist, and he is the creator of works that were turned

into blockbuster movies.

Some of those include, "The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen", "V for Vendetta", and "Watchmen."

He began reading avidly at just the age of five, and by the time he was in his early

teens he was accusing the education system of brainwashing students, stating its function

was not to inspire and share knowledge but to teach "punctuality, obedience and the

acceptance of monotony."

He took LSD, sold LSD, and Moore has said that's why he didn't get into university

as his school had warned them that he was a "moral danger."

For a while he worked as a toilet cleaner and lived on a council estate (the projects

in U.S. terms).

He never stopped reading, writing and drawing.

We'll leave you with these lines of his, "Everybody is special.

Everybody.

Everybody is a hero, a lover, a fool, a villain.

Everybody.

Everybody has their story to tell."

4: The Wright Brothers Every time you get on a plane you can in some

ways say thanks to these two guys.

Ok, so many people were working on flying machines, but these two brothers invented

the first airplane and they did it without much of an education.

Both of them went to high school, but they didn't formally graduate.

Again, like others, they got into printing, but their passion was inventing.

One of the brothers, Orville, once said, "We were lucky enough to grow up in a home environment

where there was always much encouragement to children to pursue intellectual interests;

to investigate whatever aroused curiosity."

3: Leonardo da Vinci Leonardo da Vinci did not only paint some

of the world's greatest paintings but he was also a remarkable scientist, mathematician,

engineer, and more.

Again, we can call him a polymath.

We might even compare him with the Wright Brothers?

That's because he is the person who first drew up a concept for the helicopter, and

also the parachute.

He didn't have much in the way of an education, but aged 14 he apprenticed with an artist.

We could also say that he was eternally curious, and if curiosity kills cats, it is also the

fuel for intelligence, creativity, and to some extent a useful existence.

2: Richard Branson Can we call billionaires geniuses?

Most of them made their money because they came from money.

Take the case of British billionaire Richard Branson.

He wasn't exactly from poverty.

Still, this dyslexic teenager deserves credit because he didn't even finish high school

(expensive private school) and left at age 16.

His headmaster told him that he was either destined to make millions or end up in prison.

You could say Branson was a mover, a quick-thinking entrepreneur with an impervious confidence.

Still a very young man he started a student magazine in the late 60s and then started

selling records under the label "Virgin."

The young lad would one day have planes flying through the skies and he would own an island.

His attitude can be summed up with this quote.

"You don't learn to walk by following rules.

You learn by doing, by falling over."

1: John D. Rockefeller We finish with an another billionaire, John

D. Rockefeller, whose net worth in today's money was said to be at 1.4 billion, making

him the richest man ever.

He was born into a working-class family, with a tough and shrewd father who taught him the

value of money and how to be cunning.

John did some school, but not much.

Instead, aged 16 he became an assistant bookkeeper.

He gradually built his own empire, and was a proponent of the unpopular term Social Darwinism,

meaning it's a dog-eat-dog world and some dogs are just built to win.

When he was 86 he wrote, "I was early taught to work as well as play.

My life has been one long, happy holiday."

We could have included so many more brilliant people on this list- artists, scientists,

thinkers, engineers and business people, but they all have the same things in common: dedication,

perseverance, curiosity, and they all read and practiced just as much as they played.

We hope this is some inspiration to you and that you have learned something.

Can you add to the list?

Do you believe anyone can make it?

Tell us in the comments.

Is it like Busan's Seed Hotteok?

No this is Seoul's Life Hotteok and it's the Hongdae Store

Such a smooth insert of advertisement

Scream for Hotteok!

So embarrassing

Thank you~

Wow it's really good

Do you want a bite?

I'd love to

This tastes better

Is there a lot more to go?

How far is it

Are you going to kidnap me??

What would I kidnap you for

You never know!

You can still put me to good use

Still worth 'using' 35 year old

Is it here?

Is it here? No it's not

I don't think you know well

Isn't it because you wanted to go on a date with me?

Why would I go on a date with you? I just spent 2000won on the Hotteoks

He seems sad LOL

Anywhere with you is close distance

I have goosebumps

Hyunsun's POV

I'd get goosebumps too

Should I resign?

Finally arrived at the store

I know this person

He seems like a drunk man LOL

Pick things you need ASAP

Can you recommend me some sunscreens?

Something expensive

Cheap ones!

Can I try that on?

It's hard to test the samples since I'm holding a camera

It's nice

Apply some on my face

Me?

Yes

I went to the bathroom and didn't wash my hands

That's too much

Put it on just half my face

It's okay if you didn't wash your hands~

Nope it's not okay

What do you guys think? Is this one good?

I think your lips are the problem

Really? I guess it doesn't have much colour right now

Hyunsun's lip recommendation!

This is really good

Gives off a Valentino vibe!

Gian84 also uses this

There's colour in the middle

Apply it on my hands

Can you apply it on my lips

Today is a good day~

Goes well with his skin tone

A person's entire look changes through this one lip product

I want to put some more on

It's really n ice

There's two colours to this

It's like this!

It's to hydrate and add colour to your lips at once

The colour goes well with my skin tone

Grapen Triple Handsome

I'll take these two

I normally use lip products form Nivea and such

Those have 0 colour in them

I thought guys shouldn't 't have colour in their lip products

Guys also need colours in their lips

It's so the person looks more lively and don't look sick

Their entire appearance changes

I looked fine with clear ones too

No no

We'll just listen to her

I do look different after applying it

I think this is that..

The lips that call for a kiss

Hyunsun is buying~

Thank you

He's happy~

Give it, it's mine

Ask politely!

Just stop and take it

Why is he running LOL

How dare you leave your owner behind?

I got what I wanted

I'm sorry

He seems really satisfied

For guys, all we need is sunscreen and something on our lips and that's good enough

I like this

This is why you need to shop with girls

I agree~

I can't bring you around every time

Date some girls!!

I'll do that myself

I'm happy

I'll treasure the presents that my owner has bought me forever

If you lose it, you're dead

Are your hands cold?

What's with this guy

Do you want me to buy you mitts?

No I have Chang-heater

He can't think straight LOL

That's cute

He reacts right away

This one? Buy all the colours

She forces him to leave LOL

Is there anything different about me?

He's excited

You're always good looking

What's different today?

Did you straighten your hair?

That's not it

This is your third guess

I'm not sure what it is

I'm going to go perform now

He wants to leave this space as quickly as possible LOL

He's so annoying

You look the same

Just say it once

(mouth..)

(drinks..?)

No LOL

YouTube Monetization: I May Have to Wait Until WHEN!?! - Duration: 9:01.

- Your channel still under review for monetization, is it?

Yeah, I think you're gonna have to wait until.

(ominous music)

It's gonna leave a mark, is that.

- vidIQ. - vidIQ

- [Announcer] vidIQ.com

- And its not just the wait time

that you've got to deal with

because YouTube has new buzzword

and it goes by the name of duplication.

Hello vidIQers, my name is Rob and welcome to vidIQ,

the YouTube tool and channel that aims to help you get

more views in less time by educating you

on your YouTube journey.

Our Chrome extension, which is free to download,

will help you research YouTube, analyze videos,

audit your channel and take actionable steps

through the link in the video description.

Now the hot potato we've been juggling all year,

as represented by these socks, is YouTube monetization.

There's finally been another update,

you're not going to like it, so let's take a look right now.

This post titled Recent YouTube Partner Program Reviews

and Removals including duplication

was posted a couple of weeks ago

and was hidden away in the Google product forums.

We'll return to this top section later,

first let's get to the important section

about channels still under review.

It states we know many of you applying for YPP still see

channel under review in the Creator Studio.

This means our review team has not come to a clear decision

during the initial review, so we're putting extra effort

and resources into reviewing your channel multiple times

before making a final decision.

We are hoping to share our final decisions with all

of these channels by the end of the year.

In the meantime, the best thing you can do

is keep uploading original content as the more info/content

to review, the better.

All the best practices and policies shared above

are relevant for you too!

So, yet again, YouTube have set themselves a time frame,

two months to try and get all of those channels currently

in review out of review by the end of the year.

We're going to canvas your opinion on

that particular question, but we think we already know

what your answer's going to be.

The problem is YouTube's track record on delivering

on this particular promise hasn't been good.

When YouTube introduced the new monetization requirements

in February, which are of course, 1000 subscribers,

4000 hours of watch time

and you have met those requirements,

one of three things would happen.

You would get accepted into a program,

rejected or moved into review 'cause YouTube

needed more information.

The problem was, many channels didn't get any decision

as we moved into summer.

I think, at this post, YouTube had realized how much

of a backlog they had created by these new requirements.

- So, by the end of June, if a channel

had been waiting 30 days or more,

they will be reviewed by the team.

- The problem was, a lot of those channels

did get a decision and that was to be put into review

and they have been there every since.

So we're not just talking about channels

that have just entered the in review stage,

these channels have been there for six months,

maybe even an entire year.

Now YouTube know that this is a hot potato,

well, actually this just a pair of socks,

but they do know that monetization is a huge issue

for many channels and YouTube users.

So they posted a video about this.

Unfortunately for some video creators who were

right in the middle of this in review process

this video may have done more harm than good.

- And do we have a rough ETA for how long

that secondary review might take?

- We're hoping most of that will be done with in

the next couple of weeks, actually,

but, yes, we'll keep people updated

and we'll communicate as much as we can.

- And I know some of you at this point are going ooh,

if there's one thing YouTube

has failed on in the whole saga, it's communication.

Because once you submit your channel for review

there is no one you can contact at YouTube about this.

You wait, and you wait and even when you do get a decision,

it can be vague and downright unhelpful.

Now, okay, an automated email, such as this one,

that puts you in review, we can accept.

But when the following email, which rejects a channel

from the program is also automated,

this is where frustration can start to mount.

At this stage a video creator doesn't want

to read general guidelines and policies.

They want to know exactly what videos

and what content is causing a concern for YouTube.

- In this case, the final call's

always made by a human being.

We use all kinds of systems, machine-learning stuff,

of course, to give those people information,

to give them signals about

what's going on with a given channel.

But a person who makes the final call.

- And I think, for most video creators,

this is what it boils down to.

If a human is going to review my channel

and make the final decision,

then I, as a video creator deserve a human response

not a automated response, but something that tells me

what policy I'm maybe not following

and which videos, precisely, are the ones causing the issue

so that I can go and rectify that

and apply again in the future.

It won't surprise you to know that we had a lot more

to say on this subject so we posted a comment

on that video from Creator Insider.

There is a link onscreen now.

Do go check it out.

Now while we did say there was no official way to contact,

hang on, right.

While I did say there's no official way

to contact YouTube on this topic,

there are a couple of suggestions we do have

which may jab then in the right place.

The Team YouTube Twitter account is there

to answer questions so you have absolutely nothing

to lose by firing off a quick tweet to them.

We also made a tutorial video about how you can use

the feedback tool within YouTube to ask them

what's going on with your YPP application.

We're delighted to read of success stories coming

from this technique so if you want to know more

click and watch the video onscreen now.

Alright, let's now say that your channel has been in review

and you did get a response

but its that dreaded duplication.

What does that mean?

- A lot of time that refers to content

that's coming from other sources,

where the creator really isn't adding much to it.

So that could be videos from other platforms

or it could be TV content.

- On the surface, that sounds relatively straightforward,

however, there is some really important wording

in the forum post we showed you at the start of this video

that sheds more light.

It says it's important to note that duplicative content

is not just about copyright, the spirit of this YPP policy

is to make sure we're only allowing channels into

the program when the content adds value,

and is original and relevant.

There's two crucial elements there.

First of all the spirit of the YouTube Partner Program.

This element adds judgment to the requirement.

So not only do you need 1000 subscribers

and 4000 hours of watch time,

but your content has to fit the spirit of the program.

And that gives YouTube carte blanche

to say whatever they want, in effect.

And I can understand that.

What it also tells us is that you could

be using content legally from other sources

if its creative commons, for example,

however, if you the video creator,

add nothing to that conversation or that content

then that is against the spirit of YouTube.

And again, I completely understand

that from YouTube's perspective.

- Videos where the channel is

just collecting public content,

the video uses a computer generated voice,

a channel re-uploads other people's content,

and generally, like, content farms that just,

you know, are producing content to try

and kind of game the system,

will not be monetizatable.

(cow moos)

- Now I know what you are going to say at this point,

aren't I guilty of this exact thing in this very video?

I am indeed using clips from

the Creator Insider Channel for this video,

the difference is fair use.

In a nutshell, fair use allows people

to use copyrighted content without the owner's permission

if it meets various guidelines that,

due to the nature of video content,

can be very subjective.

We feel the video you are watching now

is both educational and transformative

from the original we have used.

In other words, it adds new meaning to the topic

rather than copying it,

and these are two fundamental aspects of fair use.

We could do a whole video on this topic itself too,

but to start you off you should check out this page

YouTube have dedicated to fair use.

A link is in the video description.

Now the lines are very blurred here,

I am probably going to spend

about 10 hours making this video,

but then I'll go onto YouTube

and find Fortnite Montage Channels which probably take

half an hour to put all the content together

and none of it's theirs

and its still monetized.

And then you'll see other channels

which are just putting on WWE content

without making any changes

and they're somehow getting away with it.

And then on the flip side we have other channels

being pulled up for duplication where their content

is 100% original and there seems no explanation for that.

I think the only I can give to you is that,

if you're gaming the system and you know you're doing it,

the more likelihood you're going to be caught up by YouTube

and your channel won't get monetized.

In summary then, you may have to wait until 2019

to get your channel monetized

and YouTube have been a lot more aggressive

with duplicated content.

We will, of course, continue to cover

this hot topic on YouTube.

We have our playlist right here,

and I know you always have some awesome stories

to share on this topic.

We want to hear them.

Let us know in the comments below.

Does General Electric's Ugly Earnings Report Have a Silver Lining? - Duration: 4:28.

Chris Hill: General Electric's third quarter profits and revenue came in lower than expected,

and let's face it, the expectations were not that high to begin with.

You tell me, what's the headline here? Is it that?

Or is it the fact that the quarterly dividend has been cut from $0.12 a share to $0.01 per share?

Taylor Muckerman: Yeah, that stings a little bit. They say it's going to save them about $3.9 billion.

So, as a shareholder, I think that's a good thing.

The dividend yield hasn't been enough to keep up with the share price decline.

Even though you were getting that few percent over a year, you're still down 50% depending

on when you invested in this company.

I think to move forward, they're going to need that $4 billion.

They have to handle the insurance claims on their GE Capital, which could be up to $15 billion.

The Power business, which is their largest, still down 33% in sales in the quarter,

and turned into an operating loss. This business is definitely still struggling.

They could use that $4 billion. I think that they could hopefully put it to better use.

They're going to have a full investor update early 2019, similar to what Flannery did.

The new CEO, Culp, he's going to come out and lay out his plan.

So far, it seems like they're still going to continue selling off the Transportation business,

spinning off the Healthcare, and paring down their two-thirds ownership of Baker Hughes.

Maybe that changes early 2019, when they announce their plans moving forward under the new leadership.

But, yeah, I don't think the dividend cut is a negative thing.

I think it had to happen. Hill: It's absolutely the right move.

Larry Culp has been CEO for about an hour and a half, I'm sure he and his team are fully

aware of the fact that there's a whole swath of investors, institutional and individual,

who look to dividend-paying stocks, and when those stocks stop paying dividends or significantly

cut their dividends, they're going to jump ship.

Larry Culp isn't waiting until 2019 to at least share some of his plans.

Part of his plans was taking the Power division and splitting it into two separate units.

One is going to be gas products and services.

The other is going to be nuclear power conversion, grid solutions.

I don't know anything about that business, but I have to imagine that if nothing else,

this is going to provide greater insight into those divisions.

Muckerman: Yeah, to see how they're doing, and also hopefully some greater focus within

the divisions for the employees themselves and management.

I do think it makes sense to split them.

Natural gas turbines and steam and nuclear are two vastly different businesses.

No real reason why they need to be combined, other than they're power-generating.

Natural gas, kind of struggling.

Seems to be a lot of supply out there vs. the demand for these natural gas turbines.

They did have a little hiccup with Exelon and one of their nuclear turbines that had

some faulty equipment, so they had to go out there and shut that plant down.

That's a bad look for them in a sector that's quite dangerous, with nuclear power, when

you're talking about a malfunctioning unit there. They get that turned around.

But, down 33% in your biggest division, that hurts, especially as long as they've been around.

Hill: One other thing that caught my attention, before we move on to the big oil stocks,

Larry Culp kind of drew a line in the sand, talking about, "We're not raising money.

We have no plans to do any sort of capital raise."

I really hope they don't have to, because they don't appear to have a lot of other financial

levers they can pull. They've already cut the dividend down to $0.01.

It's not like they have a lot of other options.

Muckerman: Yeah, we'll see if that $4 billion can carry them.

If they have to go hit the debt markets ... and, issuing equity when your share price is down

this far, not a good look, either.

Hate to see him have to rebuff on his word this early in the game.

Incyte Stock: Shares Have Taken a Beating in 2018 – Here's Why - Duration: 5:04.

Shannon Jones: Let's turn our attention to our third and final stock.

Todd, this one, for me, there was so much writing on this stock.

The company is Incyte, ticker INCY.

It's not so much the stock that's scary, it's what happened earlier this year with a drug

that literally every investor had been watching, especially those that have been following

the cancer immunotherapy space. They had their lead drug, Epacadostat.

Essentially, what they were attempting to do is to see if they could take this drug

and combine it with big players like Merck's Keytruda or Bristol Myers Squibb and Opdivo,

and combine these drugs to have the combination effect of added efficacy by joining these drugs together.

But what we saw in the trials was, that wasn't exactly the case, and things just started to fall apart.

Todd, what can you tell us about that?

Todd Campbell: I think the IDO inhibitor should have been called Uh-Oh.

Jones: [laughs] Fair enough!

Campbell: Yeah, there was a ton of excitement leading up to the trial results that came

out earlier this year that IDO inhibition could be done alongside of some of these other

immuno checkpoint therapies that had been so successful in oncology.

That's the PD1s and PDL1s that we've talked about on the show in the past.

Matching these two up with slightly different mechanisms of action to be able to allow the

immune system to go out, find these cancer cells, and destroy them.

And there was some early data that looked really, really encouraging.

As a matter of fact, it was so encouraging, Shannon, that Incyte basically jumped the shark.

They went out and started up a ton of late-stage trials combining their drug with Keytruda,

which is Merck's PD1, to see whether or not they could reshape how we treat various cancers.

They went into the bad news with ... I had it written down earlier, I think it was

something like eight different late stage, registration-ready studies.

And exiting the trial, where it came up short, it just didn't work.

It didn't work in metastatic melanoma.

They ended up having to ratchet back that program almost entirely.

I think they still have a couple lung cancer trials that are going on in combination with Keytruda.

But they even downgraded those from registration studies to Phase II mid-stage studies.

Really bad news all around for patients and investors who were excited about the IDO space.

And shockwaves, too, that cut across to different companies.

Bristol Myers abandoned their IDO program after the news was reported.

There was another company, NewLink, who was working on IDO inhibitors.

They're trading at like $2 a share now. At one point, they were a $50 stock.

Jones: I think it was actually 18 IDO combo trials going on at the time.

Incyte's IDO inhibitor was the furthest along, so the readthrough to the industry was just tremendous.

There was so much hope going into the space.

As a matter of fact, Epacadostat was at one point #3 on EvaluatePharma's top 10 list of

2018 launches, with projected close to $2 billion in peak sales.

There was a lot riding on this.

With that being said, though, of the three stocks, I think Incyte was probably best-prepared

to have these setbacks.

As you know, being a biopharma investor, no matter how encouraging early stage data looks,

oftentimes, when you get to these bigger trials, things just don't work out.

But Incyte has, thankfully, approved products that are blockbusters and can lessen the blow

of what happened with this drug.

Campbell: I think, out of the three companies we just talked about, this one is most likely

best positioned to bounce back and regain some of that ground.

It does have a pipeline, it does have products on the market right now, including the blockbuster Jakafi.

So, it can withstand that hit. It's disappointing, though.

Obviously, having your shares cut in half in the span of a few months is never something

that investors want to see.

We'll have to see where we go from here with this company.

There is some competition coming from Celgene and Fedratinib, potentially, as soon as late next year.

We're going to want to keep an eye on that, as well.

Have You Found True Love, Not Just Attraction? - Duration: 4:20.

Have You Found True Love, Not Just Attraction?

True love is completely different from merely attraction.

Typically, attraction is just the beginning or early stage of love.

However, attraction doesn't always lead to love.

Sometimes, it is just to keep you from the real fact.

You'll waste your time, sacrificing everything from someone you like, but it turns out it

is just attraction that leads nowhere.

It is important to look carefully at the signs of true love, so you will not have to waste

your valuable time.

But before that, please subscribe, click the bell and watch this video until the end to

know the complete information.

Here's the 10 Signs You've Found True Love.

#1 - You stop wondering about someone better.

It is a nature of people to be in constant worries of not finding true love.

That's why, they wonder if there is still someone better than their current partner.

This actually doesn't have to happen if the person has found a true love, because worries

are simply gone knowing you are in a healthy relationship.

#2 - You stop searching for love.

There is only one person who can give you the proper love, and this guy or girl is definitely

not just your attraction.

If you rely your life so heavily on this person, you've found a true love that you can rely

on.

Try to not let go of this person.

#3 - You don't flirt with others.

Another sign when you've found your true love is, when you unconsciously stop flirting with

other men or women.

The reason is because you want to keep your relationship at its greatest condition, and

you don't want to disappoint your partner by flirting with others.

Another reason, you are not interested with anyone else.

#4 - You don't want to show your attraction to others.

You don't bother to waste your time, energy, and effort to attracts people anymore.

It is because you only want to show your attraction to your partner alone.

She or he is the only one to spend and think in your life.

#5 - You want to bring happiness.

It is something that people in a relationship tries to do.

However, somehow you feel sincere and you don't feel burdened even the task is massively

difficult if seen from other perspectives.

You really want to make your partner happy no matter what.

#6 - You don't expect something in return.

Continuing the previous behavior that typical people will do after finding true love, you

also don't expect something in return.

You really like helping, and giving your valuable time just for this person.

#7 - You can trust this guy.

Finding true love can be indicated by how much you can trust this guy to be a lifetime

partner.

If you cannot even trust this guy when you are away, this person is definitely not a

trusty source to be your lifetime partner.

#8 - You work great together.

How many times you fail to work something out together?

A simple work like doing a housework together can be a real challenge for couple that has

no love.

The reason is because either of you don't know what each likes without bossing out each

other.

#9 - You are inspired.

Inspiration can come from various sources, and one of them is from your partner.

However, true love motivates you more than anything.

For the better, you don't feel burdened with the struggle that you are going to do.

#10 - You laugh each other jokes.

The last indicator that you've found your true love is when it is so easy to laugh because

of your moment.

Happiness is around you, and it is real.

This is when you finally earn your true love.

Well, those are the 10 signs you've found true love, not just a random attraction.
