for you tonight I have deck the halls and jingle bells
and then I'll be painting a candy cane scene I don't like the way the shadow is
on my hair there let me fix the lighting a little bit I guess it's just how it's
gonna be okay there I fixed it so hello again and welcome I hope you have a
great time during the sing-along and then I'll be painting a candy cane scene
with some dollar tour dollar store paints and the dollar store canvas and I
hope you have fun tonight so let's get started with the first song

I almost didn't get in the lyrics but I just I made it through as best I could
and you know it's live so if I make a little flub you know it's live oh you
know jingle bells was not a Christmas song originally that's what truffle
shuffle is saying hey truffle shuffle yeah I didn't know that it always seemed
like a Christmas song to me but it is Christmas mentioned in that song I just
sang the whole song but I guess it's kind of just a winter song so you were
on another video and you're waiting for me lol thanks truffle I'm glad you're
here I'm glad you're still here Peter and H
top oh it was a sleigh racing song that's why it's saying at the end crack
the whip okay now I get it so what I have next for us is a painting scene and
I'll be painting a candy cane scene so let's go ahead and go to the paint scene
here okay so here I am up I have two cameras now I have I don't remember the
name okay it's a razor Kiyo that's going to be filming the painting and then my
Logitech is still filming me so you can see that I am painting this live
hopefully so
you're not even sure that it was sung during winter truffle that's a good
thing to look up on Google cuz like Google knows everything right okay so
let's get started on the painting I'm going to be doing a candy cane scene
I'll be using the red it kind of looks orange e on camera but that's red and
the green and I might be using the black or the gold I'm just not sure yet and
I'm gonna music move my microphone over a little bit because it's in my way so
I'll probably just turn it and let me know if you can still hear me alright
let's see I'm just gonna kind of turn it a little bit just so I can see my paint
my paint in canvas so okay so can you all hear me okay still okay so I have a
cup of water to that I filled part the way with well with water and I all
the brushes I got from the dollar store got from Dollar Tree the canvas I got
from Dollar Tree and the paint's I got from Dollar Tree and this canvas is a
it's a six by eight and that's kind of like the packaging that it came in there
was a dollar the paints were dollar and these set of brushes right here were
a dollar and then this brush came with the paint's so yeah so let me just go
ahead and start painting I saw somebody do this they put their brush in the
water first to get it wet a little bit wet and I'm just gonna dab it on the
paper towel that way it doesn't soak up all my paint but I'm not sure if I want
to use this little brush when I start the candy cane because I want to use a
bigger brush and by the way this is my first time painting on canvas and I'm
doing it live so let's just see how it goes right so I'm just gonna for
pick this brush it's like I'm a flat brush and then we're just gonna see how
this goes right open up my red and I hope it doesn't fly everywhere on me
well I did put some paper towel underneath here so let's go ahead and
open that red I got some on my fingers that's a fun of painting right it gets a
little messy I'm just going to dip that in there I'm not sure if I'm picking it
up too much or not but we'll find out right
so let's just get the red going I figure I'm gonna do like a red and green candy
cane this one's kind of I think I'll do the inside of it like of the color and
then if I want to you know make it nicer or I'll outline it or something I think
I'll use like a finer brush okay so I'm going to start with the red and I'll
leave space because I'm going to put in green too so I'm going to kind of leave
space for the green
doesn't have to be perfect right it's just my candy cane so I always say that
when I paint or draw it's mine so it can turn out the way I want it to
I don't want this to be upside down so I'm going to turn it around because I
can see it right side up so I'm going to challenge myself and I'm gonna paint
upside down for me it's gonna be a challenge do let's see is this gonna be
an epic fail
okay so it's kind of looking like a candy cane
what I could do is I could just like get this started you know and then I could
always like touch it up right as its drying
I'm kind of looking in the camera something that way I can tell if it's
looking like a candy cane or not
it kind of is let's kind of like do this
yeah that's looking pretty good let's kind of straighten this out a little bit
more for the bottom okay I'm getting towards the bottom let's just do one
more for the red
okay that looks like a candy cane yeah kinda looks like a candy cane okay so
let's get the green in here next and I'm gonna wipe off this brush and rinse it
off I don't want the paint to dry on the brush so I'm going to dip it in the
water it looks more orange than red yeah it's probably the color of my camera so
but it is red actually in real life so sorry about that
I could probably change the color of my camera let me see can I change the color
of my camera when we go into filters and let me add like a in effect let me add
color correction let's see if that works oh that's not the right one that's the
wrong camera I know what color correction I'm not my camera for me I
like color correction for my razor kiyo okay let me go into filters and add an
effect filter for color correction and let me see if I can get that to look
more red
because it really needs to be more red you know okay let's see what we can get
out of this the contrast I guess does that
does it just look brighter or does it look any redder let me know if it looks
any red or to you okay that looks more red now how's that truffle I guess I
could it just makes it brighter okay and I think okay brighter is good I think
and then is it getting more red now it looks more red to me on the screen looks
a hazard orange now pretty funny okay does that look right now I'm gonna wait
because it usually takes a few more seconds to get an answer about that okay
that looks more red to me now and now I need to make it brighter that looks more
red to me how about you truffle is it still Dukes of Hazzard okay it's
not as bad okay well let's go back into the color correction one more time and
see if I can do it there's got to be you know a way I can do that so I'm going to
do that and the advanced filters nope not that one okay
how could I forget what I was just doing where I got that from oh okay
yeah colorsource okay I'm going to add the colorsource to my razor kiyo so
yeah and filters and color key okay oh
yeah
there's always something right oh that looks really red that looks red to me
now okay I'm going with that looks red now
okay I'm going to wet my brush again it's in the my water it's kind of right
like red now I'm just gonna go to my green and I hope I don't get green all
over me or spray the paint everywhere okay now I did it I'm probably getting
it on my fingers I have red on my fingers okay so let's do the green
because it's gonna be a red and green candy cane
and then I'll go in like with the fine brush and fix it how I like it I think
the other paint is almost dry so I'm just taking like this fan brush you know
I'm serious I have never painted on canvas before but it's like you know
I'll just use my other brushes to like tweak this away I want it you know okay
good I'm glad it looks better now I love technology when it works right I bet on
which color I'm choosing you know if this turns out good I'm gonna hang it up
on my wall after I'm done with the candy cane I'm going to put in some Holly to
like just like spread it around like paint some Holly
I'm gonna use the fine brush for that so oh good I'm glad I'm glad trough oh oh I
accidentally got green on the red see I'm not paying attention okay
let me clean this brush my water is pretty dirty I'm going to add more water
to it maybe I'll make it more diluted
that's the water I'm supposed to drink til okay I'm gonna let that dry and then
I think I could go back over that with red and see okay I'm gonna use the free
brush that this came the paint's came with and just see how that does and I'm
gonna do a little bit of touch-up with the red just dip that in there in the
red no longer Dukes of Hazzard orange anymore should look red oh thank you
very much Peter you know I think that sometimes we limit ourselves and and
what we can actually do if you just try stuff you'd be amazed at what you can do
you know seriously so I'm just doing the touch-up right now to fill in the gaps
because I used a wider brush earlier so now I'm using the narrower brush the
skinnier brush I called it narrow I don't know I'm not a I'm not a like a
professional painter or anything so I don't know all the names for the brushes
so I'm just calling it how I call it yeah art expresses your feelings and
thoughts I so agree with that Peter I so agree with that it's just such a
good release you know I'm leaving some gaps because I want to touch up with the
green on some of these gaps you see if that's dry know that green still oh it
looks like it's coming off because it's wet yeah that green where I messed up
it's coming off when I'm dabbing it with my finger because I was just checking to
see if it was dry but it's coming off now yay
live and learn okay donut I dipped it in if I start talking while I'm doing stuff
sometimes I just totally lose track but if I'm just sitting here like I'm like
being totally quiet that's no fun right so let's see if I make any more mistakes
okay I can go over that spot where I messed up with the green with more red
oh it's 12 13 lunchtime here in Australia I have to eat it has been a
pleasure to be here well it's been a pleasure to have you here Peter and I
hope you can stop by again next week I'll probably be doing this again 7 p.m.

it's probably not too bad for my first time painting on canvas I try not to
pressure myself into making things perfect because they're not going to

okay I think I'm done with the red touch-up I think I'm just going over the
middle part though to make it kind of darker red so
I really do hope this turns out pretty nice to hang it up on the wall so we'll
see how it turns out okay now I'm going to touch up with the green to shape this
candy cane a little nicer and I'm going to use the extra brushes that I got at
the dollar got at this all from the Dollar Tree store except for this cup
the water and the paper towels but everything else is Dollar Tree you got a
phone call okay thank you so much truffle I'm glad you liked the candy
cane thank you have see later truffle okay so I'm going to touch up the green
now around the candy cane just like fill in some gaps here and maybe fill in the
green here because it looks like the cannabis is really absorbing this paint
I think this paint is an acrylic
it's it's a dollar dollar store paint set
all right

yeah the canvas is really absorbing this paint so I wanted to go over the green a
little bit more and make it darker
I thought this would be a nice decoration for Christmas
and as it dries I can see if I want to put more paint on it or touch it up or
just leave it be you know I think this campus is already treated with the gesso
or gesso on it it's the white that you see on there I kind of want to blend my
brush Stokes because I don't want them to dry like
too severely looking I'm just kind of learning as I'm going okay so that was
fun the candy cane is pretty much done so I'm going to I think it's done until
it dries so now I'm going to start painting some Holly and what I'm going
to do is I'll start with there is there's another brush that's a little
bit longer it's about about the same but I'm going to wet it and what the brush
before I start and I'm going to it for the Holly I'm going to start with the
berries first and put the berries in there and then I'm going to do the
leaves around the berries so there's like three berries there for the Holly
and let me just put the the red paint brush down and grab what I want it to
touch the side of my okay and then I'm going to grab let's see I'm going to try
this flat brush I don't know if that'll make the leaf too big though well let's
try it I'm willing to try it okay so let's try
the holly leaf it's still a little wet from the last time I use this brush and
let's go into the green
and make the holly leaf
grab some more paint here I want the points of the leaf to show
and I don't want it to look like a pine leaf I want it to look like a holly leaf
so I need to fill that in a little bit I guess yeah I guess that kind of looks
like a holly leaf huh and what I can do is I can like I was talking about
earlier I can touch up with the finer brushes too so so let's get a second
leaf in here this Holly leaf here going
okay looks good
painting and drawing really helped me a lot with fighting perfectionism because
I mean as hard as you try it's really not going to turn out perfect it's just
going to come out as you're doing it so you just kind of like accept what you've
got here you can do some touch-ups but you know if you touch up too much it
could kind of mess it up so just say okay it looks pretty good and I like it
enough and then we go from there
I kind of like this kind of like drawing painting on canvas I'm not drawing I'm
painting kind of like painting on canvas it's fun okay there's one holly leaf I
think I want to make the leaves a little bit bigger so that the the berries don't
look like they're floating out in space
right I have to be careful not to like mess it up I could make the berries
bigger I might do that see if I go in too much - to try to fix
it messes it up so let's make this leaf
bigger that's not to be out actually
so I'm making the other leaves bigger now - because you know but some could be
a little smaller than others but I think the Holly is usually pretty symmetrical
okay so I'm going to make the berry berries bigger now
and I wanted it to be able to be seen that there's a few berries there and not
like just a clump so I don't want to connect them I was debating on whether I
wanted to do a background color but I just left the background white this time
I was looking at glitter paints Hey T how you doing I'm looking forward to
your livestream later I think I'm going to use some should I use black to define the
leaves maybe maybe not
okay now what I want to do is I want to grab the skinny brush and define my
leaves a little bit more I wanted to find this one and put some points on it
I don't want it to be too much water in it it's going to be a huge leaf
these are smaller and this one's a big leaf okay I kind of like that you know
and then I want to I think put a paint stroke there in there for the the leaf
like the the veining that goes up like that yeah I'm doing good T
it's Monday again right okay so let's start another holly let's do a smaller
one right here on the bottom and I want to try to keep this one smaller
okay and let's grab my brush I was using to make the Holly Leafs again leaves her
leaves leaves I guess not leaves leaves
okay yeah I can talk all right
let's start some smaller Holly leaves there
I'm trying to keep them small Oh looks pretty good so I'm looking at it right
side up or actually upside down and y'all are looking at it right-side up
and mine is upside down
okay let's start another leaf here
it might be fun I need to learn how to do like blend my colors I don't know how
to do that I'm still like a novice at this so I'm just using the colors as
they are
and it's gonna turn out as like it'll just turn out what its gonna turn out
you know
I'll make the berries bigger again let me wipe off my brush here I don't want
to um I don't want to waste my paint cuz these paint puds or pots pods pots peat
pots I don't know I really don't know the terms I'm just like a novice painter
here so need the berries bicker veg fun it's fun to paint let's put one more
Holly up here and let's just make this one two leaves
I think I got a little bit green on my brush but oh well it just made the red a
little bit darker so guys I'm kind of find it out about this mixing stuff as
I'm going you know I could add more berries to this it doesn't have to be
just three this one will have four
gotta make that one bigger this one will have four that will have three this one
could have five yeah that's what I want to do so I'm gonna do it t are you still
going to do the lemon challenge tonight and eat a lemon okay so let's make the
leaf right here
let's make the veins and the leaves on that one I forgot okay
you forgot to pay one what's up with that
okay let's put a leaf here highly leaf
I don't know if I'm going to add no I'm not going to add another leaf there I'm
going to leave it because it the canvas ends right here so the grid and the red
and the green are really pretty but I think I want to add some more color to
this like kind of I don't know just add like a design on here I got it got green
on here can't care anyway oh you didn't make a list before going to the store or
rip a double it all works out I think I got some paint spray on my
canvas here okay so what color should I add just to like jazz this up should I
put some like blue snowflakes or something snowflakes aren't really blue
but the sky is blue so White's not going to show up
so let's see about making some snowflakes I gotta clean off my green
brush my water is looking really nasty there oh good night eh top thank you so

of looks like a asterik right now and need to add more dimension to it
snow flakes are pretty symmetrical aren't they so I gotta try
to get my snowflake to be kind of symmetrical that looks kind of cute and
I'll add some gold around it just to make it look like it's twinkling or
something okay so that's my blue Hey hi good news travelers that's supposed to
be a snowflake it kind of looks like a flower okay I think I want to fix my
snowflake make it be kind of bigger
I'll add more of these on the page so it's not there by itself it my snowflake
looks like a flower maybe if I add some lines going this way
so how you doing good news travelers are you traveling
lately
doesn't really look like a snowflake I'm going to add what am I going to do I'm
just gonna fill it in it is not a snowflake
it is something but it's not a snowflake I'm filling this in now
it's like a blue Sun now no travel for a few months okay okay I don't know what I
want to do with this blue blob up here you know what I couldn't eventually do
is I could eventually just turn my lemons into lemonade right what I'm
going to do is I'm going to take my big brush and I'm going to add a background
color now and the whole background color I just wiped my brush so it doesn't the
paintbrush doesn't take up too much
doesn't absorb all my paint I mean I'm just this way I've learned some things
by watching people paint month by first time painting on canvas so see the fails
and you see the good with the bad so there yeah now I have a blue background
color and I can what I do know about painting is before it dries you need to
be happy with the paint strokes and if you're not happy with it you change it
when it's wet I'm going to have to since I didn't do my background color should
have done it first it would have made life easier but what I'll have to do is
go around my my painting itself with a finer brush so I don't mess that up what
I what I'm happy with I want to keep there you know
thank you about the blue background looking good it helps the make this
painting pop doesn't it though just the plain white it just needed something
right needed a background color so how's mr. bean doing my favorite little dog
well besides my dogs Winston and pebbles

using my other hand trying to be ambidextrous is that the word for a
ambidextrous I think oh you miss pug Monday's T yeah it was really like I
had fun doing pug Monday's but my puppies are getting older and it is very
very difficult to keep up with two channels so the puppies went on
retirement and I will show you my show Winston and pebbles when I get a chance
they're probably just laying around right now
yeah I'm really liking the blue here I'm really liking this is fun I like
painting on canvas this is my first time painting on canvas I don't know if I
mentioned that good news travelers arty so it's an
experiment for me how old are Winston and pebbles
Winston is oh my gosh I have to think about that for a second here okay so my
my middle son cuz it's like Winston is like 11 years younger than my middle son
so my middle son is okay Winston is 13
and pebbles is 11 I don't know why I was thinking 16 but it's like you know pugs
can live up to 16 anywhere from 12 to 16 so I think Winston I think Winston is 13
I think and pebbles is 11 yeah you know darn it I thought about doing a
background-color and I didn't but a good thing I didn't because with the mistake
with the snowflake now I have a blue background I should have practiced
painting a snowflake and I didn't I practiced painting a candy cane in
Hawley on paper before I did the canvas you want to see my my my practice the
practice looks like a huge mess see that there's my practice that I did on a
piece of paper with the paints because I had never used these paints before - so
it's like a whole bunch of firsts yeah yeah they're getting up there good news
they're getting up there yep
yep yep yep it's almost 8 o'clock I will use a skinnier brush to go around the
leaves and the candy cane I'll do the sides too when this dries I'll paint the
sides of the canvas when the strides I'm trying to paint it all like horizontally
to get the brushstrokes horizontal we'll see how that turns out right yeah yeah
it is fun to try new things have you tried anything new recently you have to

I don't know if you're supposed to do like the background in horizontal or
vertical or whatever I guess it just you know I'm kind of like I don't want the
brushstrokes to be severe now so I'm just kind of like blending this
brushstrokes so hopefully that makes it better where it's not so severe so let's
try to while the paint's still wet let's just try to make it so there's not so
many brushstrokes on the background maybe kind of blend it I don't know I
think it looks better yeah blending those brush strokes like that let me go
like I like a horizontal or something yeah that works then it's not all not
all horizontal you know what are the blue names with two all oh hey I'm Eric
how you doing the blue names with the tool I'm sorry what's the question
I don't understand the question maybe it's just me or my terminology or what
Oh looks good okay thank you I've got these paintbrushes from the Dollar Tree
and I'm using this wider one right now wider flatter one to cover more space as
I'm putting in the background and I was just kind of like I had my brushstrokes
going horizontally but now they're drying and I wanted to blend them more
so now I'm going kind of vertically I'm just saying what I'm doing is I'm going
I'm pretty new at this I'm not a professional painter it's just for fun
Oh blue names in the chat oh all the blue names they are they are moderators

Slayer yeah the ones with the blue wrenches our moderators and they're
people that I've known for quite a while and what they'll do if there's somebody
in here that's I don't know cussing up a storm or or being obnoxious or being
rude to other people a moderator can like crack the whip get rid of that
comment warn people let them know that they're out of line right okay so
now I'm going to pick a smaller flat brush and put in some more background
color
you know I would have like I said put in the background color before but since I
made a mistake on I was trying to make a blue snowflake oh this this flat ones
not working out it's too big and I don't want to get rid of my leaves so I'm
going to pick a smaller brush to do some fine work here get all I have green in
this brush so I'm just wetting it and getting trying to get all that green out
look at how nice dirty that paint water is because I've been using it so yeah
would you like to be a moderator good news travelers I've known your channel
for quite a while I kind of you know for I give people some slack you know if
they say one cuss word I don't mind you know it's people you know nowadays it's
like part of their vocabulary you know but if they're being rude to others
that's not cool
so I'm trying to not wreck my holly leaves while I'm putting in this blue
background so let's see how this works sorry my voice is getting all
high-pitched that's just me oh you don't care sure all right let's see if I can make
you one from here okay I added you as a moderator so now you should be see the
oh thank you yeah I try to keep things fun and light and you know yeah get it
you know people I mean we we work hard and we don't want to be joining in
something that is getting rude or obnoxious right kind of want to relax
and enjoy enjoy you know okay these brush strokes I'm not liking so
I'm gonna go over with the wider brush here I kind of like can't I like
painting it's pretty forgiving you just let it dry in and then go over what you
want to go over with it right so that's looking pretty good
okay so let's keep doing what we're doing

I was going they have instrumental music going in the background but I ran out of
time while I was setting up and I will have background music for when I paint
or draw or color or whatever medium I decided to use next week I might want to
try to use chalks I like to experiment with arts you know why not right yeah I
really like this blue too and you know what I wish like these are dollar store
paints so it doesn't tell me what colors these these actually are so I just know
it's blue so it's blue you know it looks like a
royal blue you know okay let's go around I don't want to ruin my nice candy cane
don't want to ruin it but yeah you know it seems like you can kind of just go
over with another color if if you mess up when it dries I think oh this this
paintbrush too big I think this one has blue on it yep I'm glad I put paper
towels down I figured I would need them because paints are kind of messy you
know
let's put down
this could take a while but it is a live stream so and live streams take a while
and I want to keep going and and show you what this is going to turn out well
how it's gonna look when I'm finished when I'm done so let's just keep going
yeah paper towels are our friend we ran out of paper towels earlier today too
my husband went back out and bought some he went to one store came home I tried
to send him a list but it didn't go through app wasn't working so he just
tried to get what he thought we needed and it's like oh we need paper towels so
I was like okay we went back out to another store got the paper towels you
know so that's life right good thing it's not snowing here I know it's it was
snowing and like Western middle Western Illinois but we're in Tennessee so my
oldest son goes to college out that way near st. Louis and they got a bunch of
snow the other day so you know I'm I try to blend as I'm going be instead of just
letting it dry because I think the paint will actually I won't waste paint
even though I still got it from the Dollar Tree I still want it to last
right every every bit counts oh yeah of course I didn't think there'd
be any snow by you goodness travelers it it rare it doesn't ever snow in Las
Vegas probably rarely ever does like never ever and then if you get it is
probably melting like right away
oh it you live in Chicago it snowed but the wind is worse than the actual snow
yeah I knew I liked just layer yeah I grew up in Chicago area even though I
live in Tennessee now I had lived in Chicago like a big part of my life grew
up there graduated high school got married in the Chicago area married a
military man so then we moved to a few other states after that you know
yeah the wind is it worse than the actual snow yeah that windchill had to
get you and then if it's really when do you want it's no I know
blizzard conditions uh not be able to see where you're driving it's like
forget that so it snowed and and really it's actually snowed there in Vegas wow
I am so shocked Oh Bridgeport yeah I grew well I lived
in Chicago area in Chicago when I was real young went to grade school till
about fourth grade I think Chicago itself and then we moved to the suburbs
after they are like Arlington Heights area yeah hey hi I can play with us
toysreview glad you can make it to the live stream I'm painting now earlier I
sang a couple of Christmas songs and just painting a candy cane I thought
about painting this background first so it'd be a whole lot easier and let it
dry but then I would think that maybe the colors when it would come out
different so it all works out

hope I'm not losing most of my painting here while I'm going over this I'm
touching up with a fine brush and a flat brush going over the paint strokes yeah
so these are just dollar store paints can you believe that they're actually
kind of nice but I haven't used any other paints before so I don't have
anything to compare it to so you know then it's gone pretty well I think
this kind of the premiere of my second camera I have a second webcam pointing
down at the painting and the webcam I usually use my logitech it's pointed
towards me I'm looking down most of the time are annoyed because I'm looking
down at the canvas so come play with us toys review is asking how long have I
been on YouTube I have been well in January I'll be doing videos for two
years so beginning of January will be my two year anniversary for uploading
videos but I originally started a channel in 2013 but I did a couple
videos and they weren't getting any views and I didn't know what to do I
really didn't like know how YouTube worked so then I deleted the videos and
then I wasn't on YouTube for a long time from there and then I came back on
almost two years ago so almost two years how long have you been on YouTube come
play with us toys

is coming up Oh your son pushed you to start a channel for him
how old does your son
I probably have seen him on your channel if he's in the videos
oh he's 5 oh that's such a cute age my sons are all grown up 5 is such a cute
age I trying to paint the blue around these berries without losing my painting
here and your daughter loves doing videos too she's one almost two that's a
fun age is she getting into lots of things you
have to barricade and like bolt things down does she climb on things but I have
like all boys so I'm never really sure how girls are at that age
sorry not Kerry Kerry's okay oh I know I'm sorry I don't understand

you know I think about it I got all this stuff at the Dollar Tree the canvas was
a dollar the paint was a dollar that extra brushes were a dollar so one two
three this is only costing me three dollars to do and then it's something
you know that's original my own nobody else has this you know
nobody else is gonna have a painting like this maybe they don't want one but
yeah something I could be proud of my first canvas painting
okay so toysreview saying she's very good I think the videos would we do help
learn the simple things like colors and numbers she picks it up really fast
it's really nice that kids now they have so much available to them for learning I
mean you hear about how bad like the internet can be but it's actually
there's a lot of good about it too right
Wow I'm almost done with this I just have a little bit more fine work to do
around the holly leaves down here let's just keep going for it you know want to
keep going until I'm done so we can see what this looks like
oh I'm sure you could do a good job
you probably do an abstract right if you can't do like certain things like
specific things he had always did an abstract right there are stencils at the
paint store - I noticed when I was because I you know a god tell this at
the Dollar Tree but I also stopped by the craft store
I stopped by Michaels and they did have a sale going on but I didn't end up
buying anything but I did notice they had stencils
I would think Hobby Lobby would have things like that too and you could use a
stencil and paint with that
so I like preformed for you already it's just fun I think it's just so relaxing
to do this type of thing it's therapeutic you know makes me forget
about the stresses of the day like when my butt dogs were barking at everything
and they wouldn't be quiet
I just kind of go over with my flat brush over the brushstrokes that I don't
want to see dry a certain way while the paint's still wet okay I'm gonna try and
paint without losing my holly leaves don't lose my honey leaves let's paint
between those berries now I have like
four berries on this one three on that one and five on that one so kind of just
mixed it up right you know
I'm trying to look at the chat so I can keep up with the conversation so I hope
I don't miss anyone's comment because I do want to chat with you all oh thank
you so much toys review I keep adding more blue and
and changing up the brush strokes kind of like making it go like in an X
pattern now I had it like all horizontal at first and then I didn't want it to
dry that way so then I started like just blurring up the paint strokes
wherever I see some of the white canvas poking through I am painting over it
okay I have one Holly left to go over with the blue paint let's do it go ahead
and go for it
I hope I don't take away the leaf too much

I can kind of define the leaves even better now with going over it the blue
just kind of cover up where I want it to
I think it's turning out pretty good
okay I want to go over the blue with my fan brush was a small fan brush oh wow
yeah I kind of like this so let's go over and a little bit more blue here
what I'll end up doing when this dries too is there are the edges here I'm
gonna paint those too but we we don't need to do that live do unless you know
someone else pops in on the live chat
okay what I want to do is the candy cane is cute
but I'm going to take another fan brush here and get all the water out of it I
don't want too much water and I'm going to go over the candy cane one more time
I do like the way the Reds looking but the green because I did go over the red
twice and I just need to go over the green one more time and the candy cane
yeah I like that it's looking better now not too much white popping through it
anymore
that's starting to look like how I want it to look basically
and I don't want the brushstrokes to be too big so I think I'm going to switch
to the smaller brush because this fan brush has given me brushstrokes that are
much too big so I'll just go to a smaller brush which I have did I have a
smaller brush oh no I don't have a smaller brush with them green in it I'll
use the brush that came with the paints
and now I can just use smaller brush strokes and then I won't get those long
brush strokes that are in my candy cane and just kind of DAB it on there dabbing
it on there thick
okay some dabbing that on there
yeah I like the way that's looking it's not such a light green anymore not
seeing those long brushstrokes anymore in the candy cane and the green
okay I am almost dying with this can you believe it
unless I want to touch up the holly leaves try not to get my nice shirt on
my painting because then right it'll probably get ruined
I'm not sure how these paints wash up I've never used them before so I really
don't know how that will go
well I really like that now let's see
okay it looks like there's some white Pekin throwers it there right there
that looks pretty good okay okay oh I missed the middle part of this Holly but
down here
yeah
I think I'm going to do with the green as I'm going to draw on the lines for
the leaf
it's kind of cute but I think there's too much of a contrast so I'm just going
to fill this in with a little bit more green I think it's better to have the
brush strokes go with the shape of the leaf so that was good
now let's fill in the other leaf and do the same thing put in the brush strokes
the way that the the leaf would be growing okay now just a few more leaves
to go
I'm just building upon these leaves making them a richer green so if you
feel like drawing or painting a candy cane painting and you need an idea of
how to do that and the mistakes and not mistakes and the good with the bad
you can join me and every Monday I go live I will have two songs and then I'll
do some kind of paint or drawing or some kind of artistic thing
and you just never really know how it's gonna turn out because I'm doing this
live so it's just gonna turn out how it's gonna turn out that's how it's
going to go
okay so all that's left to do is well after I paint the site all those paint
the sides now I can take a the big brush and blue
okay paint the sides how you can see it
let's see okay you can see that
the sides might need a couple coats but you'll you know you can see
because it'll give it more of a finished look I think to paint the side
so that's one side to paint it so you can basically see how that's going and
I'm getting some paint on the top so I want to blend that in don't want it to
look darker there so as this dries I may add a little bit of touch-up here and
there but that's basically here we go candy cane seen on canvas my first time
painting onto canvas with Dollar Tree paints all I need to do is sign my name
later all finished painting the sides
and let's sign my name let's get a nice brush from the extra brushes I purchased
from the Dollar Tree
okay let's get the all the red paint out of there you can tell I've really used
this water a lot
okay so let's sign my name I think that's good enough and let's get the
black and I don't think I can sign my name upside down so I need to turn this
around and I'm going to put my name down here in the bottom right and dab that
into the black paint never sign my name in the paintbrush before let's see how
that goes
you know I'll probably just put my initials
and then when that dries I may just go over it a little bit with the blue
because that is looking really dark you know why don't I go over that with the
white is too dark or maybe you know I'm going to take a piece of paper cuz it's
still wet maybe take a Kleenex or something yeah oh good that helps I just
took a Kleenex that helps lighten it up a lot cuz I had a lot of black paint on
there yeah I want my my initials on here not to take away from the painting I
just want to kind of blend okay cool so just the right-side up
okay so I got my initials in there I may just want to go over my brush strokes a
little bit more on the painting just depending on what I want to do I hope
