Study With Me*勉強しよう*Vlog Edition - Duration: 3:02.
My mother made Sukiyaki for dinner last night, and ate it for lunch.
Sukiyaki is a very popular Japanese meal that is easy to prepare where the meats and vegetables.
Because everything is made in one pot.
After I ate lunch, I watched TV for 2 hours.I feel guilty about it.
It's just one of those days. So I would like to catch up with my studies.
Its about 8 p.m. And I'll have dinner from now !
It's 23:20 now. And I'm getting sleepy. I think I studied for about 8 hours today.
I had a more productive day than expected.

The Real Life of Stand Up Comedians - Chat with Me - Duration: 24:47.
Welcome to "Chat with Me" where we bring in five diverse individuals to talk
about very important topics and our very important topic today is "The Real Life
of Stand-up Comedians." So I have brought to you five very funny, very wild and
crazy guys and gal. Would you mind introducing yourself? Hi, I'm Heather Shaw.
I'm a female comic. That's questionable. Oh yeah. That's a thing. We do comedy.
that's my intro. Hi I'm Mike Herlihy and I'm a traveling road comic. I've been a
road comic since 2010. My name is James Yon. I'm a stand-up comedian. I have my own
talk show and my own radio show. A talk show? I'm gonna ask you about that. Hold that
cause it's just introduction. Don't get into the meat yet. We are all stand-up
comedians. That's why we're here. My name is Dewayne Williams. I've been
doing comedy for about a year and a half. Born and raised in Louisiana. Been here seven
years. Settle down. Is this your match.com profile? No. Black people meet .com. I'm Ken Miller I've
been doing comedy now for 12 years. I'm originally from North Carolina. I live in
Orlando now and I'm like Mike I'm a road comic as well. I'm probably on the road about
40 weekends out of the year. Well, that's what I tell my wife. What in the
world just made you decide one day like hey I think I'll be a comedian? Like, what
were you a class clown first? Yep, that's the one common thing I
think we have in all of us. We have low self-esteem. Always trying get people to make people laugh and stuff more in school class
class clowns. I think we all were that. Yeah, when I was in 10th grade my biology
project was ten minutes of stand-up comedy. It was awful but, yeah I was
like I didn't do a project my teacher was like, "okay cool give me 10 minutes" and I just
talked about how my mama whooped us and how my best friend was fat. They probably felt sorry for you.
And I got an "A." I was different I wasn't the class clown. I was like the quiet kid
who was too shy and I sat back and watched everything and. So that's what
I was thinking like they're on the news like the neighbors are like...
I'm glad we went this way. I'm off the watch list. Class clown. That's all it was. Got through with
my work most of the time for other kids so I had nothing else to do but clown. He had to be funny
because he doesn't have a hairline. He really doesn't. Look, it's got to be different for you than starting you know ten
years or plus. Yeah, I actually first started in 2012. I did two open mics that
November. I know but I'm saying. I stopped after that. I was like I did okay
but I was so scared of failing that I stopped for all of those years. And we
appreciated that. Come on. That's had to come up with all of you at some point
like that fear of failure. I started comedy when I was 19 and I bombed so bad I wound up doing Chris Tucker's DefJam.
I was so bad I did somebody else set and I didn't do comedy again for 10 years.
I just started yesterday and it's like fun. How long ago did you really start?
I think four years. Four years ago. Yeah. So what what do you think is the
most challenging part about it? Being funny. No, no you guys are pretty funny.
Just keep working at it. Coming up with new material? I think the most
challenging part right now for us, because we're not famous, is it just to
get people to support. Yeah like your people come to the show and see us but
oh my god you is so funny why haven't I heard of you? I said because you guys
will come out and support some dude you see on the internet before you
support some local guy. That's how we met because I came to see
Preacher. Yeah. But I will tell you what, sorry preacher, I was like I really think
Ken was funnier. No, this is a true story
and the reason why I think that is because I had seen all of the episodes
that Preacher was on so I had already seen a lot of his work. He'll tell you
that. We will have shows and afterwards people be like "oh my gosh you're so
much funny than Preacher is" and he'll turn around and say" but I made more money."
Preacher has me programmed in his phone as the funniest man on the planet, so
when I call him it pops up, but but to me this is my thing I think getting people
to support live and local comedy or coming to see a comedian that you never
seen before you know instead it's a comedian you see on TV all the time.
That's an excellent point. I think to me that's my biggest job. PSA for the day.
Friends and family started supporting us when we started so many years ago they're like
"yeah I'll come see you," but now we can't do that we can't give away tickets. My
momma won't come see me now. You can't even give her a ride like she won't get in the car. And she lives with me.
It's so true like going to see somebody you know. You buy tickets you purchase
for people you know, but then when you don't know a name you're hesitant, but I
think that's an excellent point. Notoriety.
Once you have notoriety, people will kill themselves to get a ticket. People will pay
20 bucks to see you. Now your family, you're saying was
supportive, but was that the case for everybody? I can't imagine like walking in
and be like "hey mom I'm gonna be a comedian" and them being like...
Look I was going when I was 18 I was going to New York. I said when I graduate
high school I'm gonna be a comic. My mama said no you're not. You're going to the army and
I said yes ma'am and I ended up going to the army instead
of going to do what I always wanted to be a comedian. Did you make like the people
in the Army laugh? Yeah that's why I never got in trouble.
I actually could've been court-martialed for something
but I was, I was a funny likable dude and and I think it took me to good places. I got
to work in the White House for five years travel with the President.
Clinton and Bush. Bush this is like this is like '99-'04 so this you know...
I didn't tell anyone. Yeah. Have you told anyone yet? I mean
well when I was young, no I didn't, I didn't tell anyone that this was what I
wanted to do. All my other dreams got shot down. Only thing really enforced in
my family was education, going to school so I place... and that's not important...you a liar
and then I was in a band. The only thing I stayed with was playing the trumpet
so but comedy I kept that to myself. So what changed a year and a half ago where
you were like this is it, I'm going for it. Man, something in my mind just clicked. I'm
like what are you doing? Like I just was I work it, I work in entertainment now at
the theme parks at Universal and stuff so just being there and seeing all my
friends doing all that entertaining stuff I'm like bro what are you doing
you're supposed to be doing comedy what are you doing and last year it just
clicked. I went back to open mic and ain't stopped since. It's a drug. I mean
actually cocaine is a drug. Laughing is a drug. I think that's a thing like for anybody
that's single out there I think we, not we I'm not single sorry honey
but I think that one of the best traits in a human being is their sense of humor
and if you don't have a sense of humor then just you ugly. Yeah, if I didn't have
a sense of humor I would never have sex. My wife does not like me because I'm beautiful. No. I
make her laugh so she doesn't notice all this. Yeah, I've never gotten a woman off of looks. I'm cosmetically challenged.
I thought you were gonna say you never got a woman off. Let him finish his sentence Heather.
Look some people see my wife, my wife is Miss Atlanta
So people see my wife and they'd be like how you pull that off? I say it's gotta be
the comedy. It can't be anything else. You see my body. What my body look like Dewayne? Your body awful.
Myke, what do you think of his body? No, no.
Every time I see him he says your body awful. I'm eating better. Wait a minute what do you mean his boobs?
We have the same size breasts. We really do.
Myke, how about you? How has comedy been for you?
Oh comedy has treated me pretty well actually. I lucked out because you were
talking about you know how your family feels about it. I'm the middle of
three boys so automatically there wasn't much hope for me, like they just no one I
had...middle child, you got forgotten... yeah exactly so I was left alone to do whatever I wanted
and actually both my brothers live at home with my parents right now so I'm
the comedian and I don't live at home and my dad's like you know what I had
three boys, I wanted you to be doctors, I wanted you to be lawyers...
you don't call me looking for money. Congratulations! But you said you're on
the road like most of the time. I am which is the only reason I'm able to have two
children, because if I had to spend all the time at home I wouldn't have
children. And I would say Myke is one of the best comedy writers in the
game. Yeah you guys all write your own stuff? Yes. Yeah. I steal. I think that's the way.
Can I just say you have done leaps and bounds for female comedians. "I'm a female comic, I'm sorry."
"And by the way I steal." I take Paula Poundstone's bit and run with them.
Paula Poundstone. For anyone under the age of 40 she was a female comedian.
She still is. I believe so. I'm just kidding. Being on the road, does that give you new
energy like being in different clubs and being at different places? It's
funny because I joke about my kids a lot but truthfully speaking I'm... I have now
in my career the career I wanted when I was like Dewayne's age. Like when you're
in your early 20s you want to be on the road, you're dreaming of traveling
everything but now if I gotta get on Frontier Airlines one more time.
I think Frontier airlines just bought all the movie theater seats from when the movie
It's like sitting on a lawn chair. I'm like yo, this is the worst bro.
The opinions of this panel are not the opinions of this show.
This show is sponsored by Frontier Airlines.
I'm with Myke so because as a parent as well and you want to be on the
road then you get on the road like man I'm ready to go home yep like I can't
sleep in hotel rooms anymore like I have to take an ambien now like I just, I don't know
But you can use the same material when you're going to different places
but you I mean you perform at the same place pretty frequently. Yeah I'm at
improv a lot but then I love being on the road like you know I'm about to head
out next week to Arlington, Texas. I was just in Illinois at Donnie B's amazing
Club and it's great to go meet new people, get new fans. Yeah. But when I walk
in my door and see my family I'm happier than I am when I'm out. And we will actually drive if
it's less than four hours to get home we'll go home. Yeah, I'll go home. it'll be
one o'clock in the morning and I'm like man I'm going home just to sleep in our own bed and
the club owner will be like James we got you a hotel. Yeah, yeah I'd rather go sleep
in my bed with my wife. One on your bar tenders can have the hotel. I will tell you
this though it's kind of tough because my oldest son is eight and he's been
pretty much aware of what I do for a living since he was like three or four.
He's like oh my daddy tells jokes and his mother is college graduate
well-educated everything else so now he's coming home with all this homework
and he's like I don't want to do my homework and she's like well you're
gonna need it and he's like daddy doesn't do math. I'm like, he's got a point.
Because she's a stay-at-home mom so she's the one who
went and did the right path got the degree everything else and could go
get the great paying you know business type job and instead I'm the one out
there just telling penis jokes this weekend for money. Do you make enough money doing comedy?
We all have hustles. I've got four jobs. For real I got four
jobs. I got four too. But they're all they're all like comedy related. Comedy
related. How did you all have time to show up here for me today this is like.. but
they all have to do with comedy and we all love what we do but at our stage where
we're not famous (there's no money it) we have to do something else. How often do you have to
rewrite your jokes like do you have to come up with a new set all the time? Make
writes every day. I'll write all year. With what's going on in the world right now it
lends itself to be. No, no. What's going on? What's going on Heather? Yeah. There are vegans in the
world. Whoa, wait a minute. Do you add that into your set, being a vegan? No, I don't I should though.
actually really should. I don't talk about being vegan. That is true. I've never heard anything about you being vegan.
Tell me a little bit about being a female comedian and
how you got started and what it's like for you. Um, I got started actually my
first open mic was with Preacher hosting which is really cool at the Why Not
Lounge. I didn't get to experience that that much but he was there. The Why Not Lounge.
The Why Not Lounge, it shut down. Yeah, I really like it.
There's...it's I don't, I don't find it difficult to be a female in comedy
honestly, but I think that's cuz a lot of people look at me like one of the guys
because I'm gay. Yeah I know guys. I'm coming out with it mom yeah I don't find
it that difficult but I have heard from like more straight women in comedy
that it's it's more difficult for them. They get
hit on a lot. I see that a lot where I'm like oh boy. Anytime a new female starts in
comedy it's like woosh. Usually the advice we give new comics. It's like hey
as much as it's fun don't date your coworkers. What's gonna happen
is either you're gonna get more famous or she's gonna get more famous and
either way it's gonna cause some issues. Heather don't have a problem because Heather's
funny. Heather also would check you. Yeah. Heather you probably won't put up with
that crap so... No, no. A lot of people think I'm a bitch but it's because I'm
just not gonna. Where does your material come from like how do you? It's not, I'm
not like a storyteller, like Ken is a really, really funny like he can do like
long story bits I'm more like really goofy one-liner, odd weird stuff that's
not true. Yeah nothing I say is true like from personal experience it's all just
goofy stuff that I say I mean I do talk about having like no boobs, that's true
as you can tell. Now my eyes want to but... I'm up here. I want a shirt that say's that
like "I'm up here." Yeah, yeah like jokes about that like I have two backs.
Anyway I do have nipples though but yeah most of my jokes are just goofy and
silly. And did you always know that you wanted to be... yeah yeah I've always
wanted to do comedy. It's the only thing I really enjoy doing. As much as we say you
know we have problems getting people out to the show because we're not famous the
nice thing about not being famous is exactly what you're pointing out once
you put that 45 minutes set on Netflix or HBO now all of a sudden audience come out to
see you because they know you but they want to hear stuff different.
Where as a lot of my set is the same 45 I've been doing for the
past six-seven years, but you're traveling from town to town
so people it's new to that yeah so as soon as you put that on TV or a CD or a
DVD or you know it's burnt yeah. You gotta come up with new stuff. It's funny because like all five
of you panicked when I mentioned what's going on in the world today. We're not
going to talk about it, but do you have to be very careful when you write your
jokes to not talk about politics? Yes. Let me tell you we're in Florida right now
and I was in Sanford and it was 2015 and at one point you can make all the
Trump jokes you want and everybody thought it was hilarious, but I went back
to Sanford in 2016 and somebody made a Trump joke and I told people don't do it
anymore I saw the change, when they mentioned Donald Trump people clapped
and applauded and they were not laughing at all, so for us it's very dangerous to
use material. They tell me no politics. I don't have any in my set. It comes down to this is where fame
factors in like if you're more famous and people are coming out to the show to
see you they want to hear you know Bill Byrd's viewpoints on things they know
what they expect from him that's what they want to hear whereas if you're
playing the rooms that most of us play most of the time people aren't coming
out to see us, you know, the comedy club in the town on the Friday or Saturday
so they're coming out just rolling the dice on who's gonna be there, so if they
come in and you're doing you know anti-trump or pro-trump
you've already alienated half that audience and you don't have the luxury
of knowing they were there for you. They're just like that unknown person
said something I don't like plus the other thing I found with politics
nowadays is at least when Bush was president you can make
little Bush-isms and people laugh because they're like oh we get it he
sounds like that. I have to say that I've yet to come up
with something that I made up that Trump said that someone in the audience doesn't
automatically start defending, like well here's why he said it...I'm like woah I made that up.
I thought that was crazy.
So let me ask you a little bit of a serious question. I'm sorry I know we're
not serious. We can't do that. Yes you can. Yes you can trust me. I got you. I got you
So there's been a stigma for many years, especially in the wake of
like Robin Williams and stuff like that that comedians in real life are either
depressed or have had a difficult time and that's why they use laughter. Is that
something? I will say that comedians do comedy and we're not okay. Meaning no one
does this job because they're fine emotionally. No one gets up to do
stand-up. Yeah I'm seeing a therapist. Man yeah. Are you? I'm number eight of 11 kids
you know I grew up in a home my mom was emotionally abusive, physically earlier on,
cuz in the black culture you get given the ass whooping is what, that's what you do
no it's not, it shouldn't be what you do and you grow up and it kind of messes
with you so in my in my life now I realize the way I talk to people, how I
act with people it was how I was raised and it's not the right way to be with
people so I just think it was time for me to go see, I ain't gonna cry, to go sit on the
couch and talk to somebody you know I mean so I just started saying just just
to talk and get things out. I don't think it changes me as a comic, you know. I
don't think all comedy comes from a dark place. A lot of people think that comedy
comes from a dark place, some of it comes form a great place. I do a lot of jokes about being a
dad and being a dad isn't a dark place. Now I would do some jokes about going
through a divorce, that's a dark place. You know what I mean, so not all comedy
comes from a dark place, but for me you know it's therapeutic like you say from
some type of pain. Yeah. Everyone agree? You gotta be crazy to do this. A lot of people are
like I would never do that. You are getting front of a group of people that don't know who
you are and make strangers laugh. That's crazy.
We are all people so like the people in the crowd they go through the
same things that we go through so it's just like we're showing them hey I know
what you're going through was rough and is rough, but you can laugh at it. You're just
taking it and turning it. You can laugh. If I can do it, you can do it. Let's laugh at this together.
And that's our job to make people laugh about stuff you don't normally laugh at in a
way that doesn't offend anybody, but it entertains. I think everybody here I know
Ken we've had these talks before there are shows you go up and do and afterwards
you're selling your merch or shaking hands after the show and the reason
comics stick around after the show is because we need that little hand shake
every once in a while you'll get it I remember this happened to me and I was
up in Boise and some woman came up to me after the show and I'd done a whole
bunch of jokes about my kids and one of the jokes I do is about how much I don't
like my second-born and everything else and blah blah blah and this woman comes
up to me after the show and she just, she's like can I just say thank you so
much. I'm like why? She's like my husband and I we lost our
five-year-old last year and this is our first night coming out and automatically
I'm just thinking all I did was talk crap about my living kids for like an
hour and she's like no she's like just some of your stories
like so much brought back some of our memories of you know her and everything else and this
was our first night actually getting out and laughing in a long time and just
like and you don't think that. You think I'm just doing this gig in Boise and
then after the show it meant so much more to someone in the audience or are you're
doing a joke about when you were a kid growing up and one guy comes out he's
like dude my parents were the same way. I always think that as comedy some
of our job is just saying things on stage that people thought they were
alone in, you know, and you say it on stage and all that familiarity that
universal...that's why I talk a lot about queefs...
You're the one who wanted a female comic on the show. I wanted a female comic.
You had the same experience?
Where somebody came up? Yeah but you know man I needed that. I was having a bad
week or I had a bad day you know to a lesser
degree on what Myke was saying, but it was great. And I make them do that. if you
want to do a show with me and it's over I go let's go out and thank everybody
because they could have been anywhere. I learned that from Myke Herlihy being on the road with him and I
started doing it in my show where I tell everybody after the show can you do me a
favor you just let me shake your hand and say thank you. I learned that from
Myke. Everybody after every show if you're on the show with me I'm like alright y'all
let's get our ass out here shake these hands and kiss these babies. Thank them for being there.
You have to know whether you've been doing this for a
year and a half or for 10 years or for however long, whether you're on the road or on stage
you guys are making a difference, truly because for me to be able to take those
few minutes and when I came to your show I was feeling that energy for a good
couple of days. Where was that? Improv. Yeah Preacher's back for New Year's again this
year. So we're gonna have to wrap things up, but if you can tell me really quick
where we can find you. Yeah anywhere on social media you can find me at
Heather's myspace. Oh you can find me on anything social media Make Herlihy, Myke with
a "y." Okay. Same thing anything on social media James Yon. You have a show what's your
show? it's called the "Lowdown with James Yon." It is on Sling TV and... Not the down low
Does low that the show Dwayne hosts from his basement.
I invited you to my show... Yes... can I get an invitation to your show? I

Hopped outta bed that rem the best I had I caught a case you know I beat the odds again
Call up my girl I hope she answers its collect (Hello)
Slip on the slides Im ready to ride

Move on the low So I don't talk bout what I got
Ah yea I been sticking and moving
Ah yea I ain't got nothing to prove em
They ain't gon help you thats a fact Did it myself I got investments coming back
Where my broker at?
[Chorus]
Truth be told I love when they don't like me
They think its messing with my psyche They wanna try me, I beat the case I'm on a high key x2
Truth be told I love when they don't like me
They think its messing with my psyche They wanna try me, I beat the case I'm on a high key x2
[Verse]
When I wake up in the am Lacing the vans
I just might go get a tan They wanna know bout the brand
Look at my face Currency flip on the gram
I ain't bout living it safe Took off the brakes
Burn out a 458 Hit up my vato to graze
You know they place Carne asada my plate
I count my blessings everyday On the block we don't play
LAX to MIA Do it all in a day
Stack my chips Frito lay
Only few know my way Got that code in my veins
Poppin the top and im letting it bang
[Chorus] They don't like me
They think its messing with my psyche They wanna try me
I beat the case I'm on a high key
Truth be told I love when they don't like me
They think its messing with my psyche They wanna try me
I beat the case I'm on a high key
