Youtube daily an Apr 2 2017

Today I got the following email

this email is from

studio@caseyneistat.com

of course

it's really cool

to get

an email like this

and to actually be recognized

and that one of the biggest stars on youtube

says

you know what

you're doing a great job

and he's not only

an icon on youtube

but also a really big inspiration in business

when he firs started the vlog

he did so to show the life

as an startup entrepreneur

it's kinda the same that I want to do

with this channel

so the fact that a person like him

recognises my work

is awesome

but what I think is weird

and I guess all of you find weird

is that after 11 days of vlogging

a big start like Casey finds this channel

that's the question i'm asking

it's pretty simple

he didn't

I sent the email myself

It's 1st of April

April fools!

I did a pretty good job

I copied his writing style

it's actually his email adress

Send an email to studio@caseyneistat.com

and it will reach him

So this suddenly turned into a video about source criticism

and fake news

It was so easy to do this

It wasn't only easy

but it's also factually correct (kinda)

That's his actually signature

It's a font he would probably use

It's his email address

I sent an email from his adress

Turns out, it's way to easy to generate fake news

even on april 1st

It's a lot of people believing this

So far 21 people

has commented, congratulated and actually believed it

The main reason the believe it

is probably because it's a stupid thing to joke about

how awesome wouldn't it have been

if it was true?

I gain nothing by joking about it

I should probably find better april fools pranks

I believed this was so crazy

that no one would believe it

but it actually to realistic

Casey could probably have done something like this

it could probably be true

so I'm sad it isn't

The possibility to

shadow what he does

and learn from some one as great as him

would have been awesome

so that's probably why people believed it

it sucks that it isn't true

I dont know what more to say

I think it really fun

I think it really fun to create a prank like this

and that people actually believe it

what isn't cool

is that it isn't true

I don't know what to say

If you know Casey Neistat

please show him this

and the mail

I really want to make this a reality

even tho it was just for fun

so if you know casey

or know how to get him

to let me do this

Thanks for watching

please subscribe, like and all of that

and I will find a better prank for next year

President Fuchs makes an emotional concession to the Gator Nation - Duration: 0:42.

I appreciate all the comments I've received today regarding my declaration that we will

drain the University of Florida Swamp and that our campus will be alligator-free.

After further consideration, I've concluded that maybe it's best we remain the Florida Gators.

So effective immediately, I'm rescinding my executive order to drain The Swamp, and

I'm issuing a new executive order.

We will proudly forever be the Florida Gators!

And we will fill The Swamp with tens-of-thousands of Gators.

Happy April Fools' Day everyone.

It's great to be a Florida Gator.

Go Gators!

Q and A (Part 1) ⎮ ASL Stew - Duration: 16:51.

- Hello, I'm Jill... -... and I'm Jenna. - Welcome to ASL Stew!

(hand slap... ♪♪♪)

- Hello, hopefully everyone is having a good day so far.

Today, finally we are doing a new Q and A.

I know we asked you guys questions a while back

and it's taken some time, but we've finally found the perfect time to go ahead and do it.

So now we're gonna answer some of your questions.

- Yeah, we'll try to answer as many as possible, as many as we can.

Some we have to do research on and we'll let you know those later.

- Okay, the person's name is Leslie and she's asking Jill,

"How can I qualify to work VRS?"

- Okay, so when working VRS, there's no specific qualifications you must have.

Some companies do require you to be certified, some may not.

I'm not 100% sure of other companies.

But, what you do have to do is take a... test.. a screening for that

and if you pass the screening, you can work VRS.

I would say in general, you should have probably graduated from an ITP

unless you already have a lot of experience before entering the ITP.

Also, it'd be good to have a lot of diverse knowledge before you get into VRS,

but I would say generally, if you can handle diverse topics,

and people, and you pass the screening then you qualify!

Okay, this is from Caitlyn and they said,

"My son is five and he is missing the bone structure in his middle ear.

His first language is ASL and when people ask, I say he is hard of hearing.

Recently his teacher told me to never use the words

hard of hearing, especially not hearing impaired

because that's considering him having a disability."

She said "As a mother I don't see him disabled at all."

She said "The teacher said call him D/deaf, that's it."

"So I was wondering, do I have to call him and does he have to say he's just D/deaf?

He still has some hearing and I thought the word D/deaf

was exclusively for people that don't hear at all.

Not trying to be offensive, but I don't know."

So maybe you can answer a few questions.

Answer, is hard of hearing and hearing impaired... are those offensive?

Do you have to call yourself D/deaf? -- and what does D/deaf and hard of hearing mean?

- Okay, umm it's kind of a layered question so I have a few different answers.

First, "hearing impaired", yes that is considered offensive.

Just because it implies that you're broken.

There's something wrong, and you need to fix it.

Which that's not the point... so.

But D/deaf, hard of hearing -- really it's kind of up to you

and/or your child how they develop their identity.

The only difference between D/deaf and hard of hearing is

D/deaf tends to emphasize that you're D/deaf.

It doesn't necessarily mean you have no hearing,

like for myself, I'm Deaf and can still hear some and I call myself Deaf.

Hard of hearing tends to be more of a mild hearing loss.

Typically it means you can talk. Some people can use the phone.

There's some loss, but it's not profound.

But again, there's kind of some overlap in that area

so really it's kind of up to you as an individual -- how do you label yourself?

Do I think I'm D/deaf? Do I think I'm hard of hearing?

Also, there's lowercase and capital D/deaf.

So, lowercase (deaf) is just a hearing loss.

Capital D (Deaf) is a cultural connotation that use ASL.

So what I would recommend is don't worry about it right now.

Just let your child develop and when he feels comfortable,

ask him -- you can explain exactly what everything means to him.

Then see how he feels, which matches him and then go ahead and use that.

- Yeah, but hard of hearing is not an offensive word.

I mean, I know many people who call themselves hard of hearing and it's fine.

It's not offensive at all.

- No, it's just hearing impaired, that's the offensive one.

- Okay, the next one is from Terry.

They asked, "What is the best way to practice signing by yourself

if you don't have someone to practice with?"

- Just repetition really. Just keep signing.

Watch different videos of Deaf people signing and try and see how do they sign.

Then kind of look at your own signing and see does it match that?

It doesn't have to be 100%, that's a stylistic issue.

But, in concept are you matching how they sign?

You can look at English sentences and try and translate them.

How would I sign that?

Really it's just using the sign language over and over and over.

That will help you pick it up.

- Also, if you want more in depth, we made a whole video about that.

All about that topic. So I will leave a link down below

and also I will put it in the cards. I think it's up there... or over there.

Somewhere up there... I think it's over there. Is it over there? Right over here.

I think -- not right there. (laughs)

But, we'll have that video for you, or the whole video specifically.

There's a whole one about that.

- Okay the next person is from Instagram.

It is from 11_gracie112 and they said,

"How long have you been an interpreter?"

- I have been a professional interpreter since January of 2008.

That's what I remember.

- So almost 9 years. - Yeah pretty much 9 years, almost 10 years.

Woo, I'm old! Yes, I'm very old.

- Yeah, you have a lot of white hair.

- No I don't. She does though.

- I can see it right now.

- Okay, the next one is from _.its._.chris._ .

They say, "What is your position on hearing people

getting involved in Deaf culture and learning sign language?"

- I mean, I would say in general, really it's just important you're respectful.

If you want to learn sign language, you want to be in the community,

just make sure you show respect.

Whatever the Deaf person tells you -- if they give you an explanation or something,

go ahead and accept it.

Don't criticize them or say "No I'm right!". That's not the right way.

So, it's best to be respectful and pay attention to what others are saying and just go from there.

Then it's perfectly fine. That's fine. So nothing wrong with that!

- Okay next question is from lizbethcalfro and she says,

"Does Jenna have any interpreter pet peeves?

Anything I should know before becoming an interpreter?"

- Just pick one? - You can name a few.

You have nothing because all interpreters are perfect right?

- ...right.

- So number one, when you're spelling words... spell them clearly!

Don't go like asldthunalkjno. Spell them clearly so that I can understand them.

The second one, don't fall asleep.

It's happened before -- it's actually happened to me!

- I'm sorry, it's not funny.

Yeah, they fell asleep.

Ummm, I would say don't assume or take over for a Deaf client

or say something without the Deaf client's permission.

Let them say it, don't assume. Let them lead the conversation.

You're just mediating. That's all. You're just translating.

You can go ahead and say something if there's an audio cue or something like that,

but don't assume and take over and say "Oh no, let me go ahead...".

Let the Deaf person go ahead and be empowered.

Don't take that away from them. So, that's a really big one too.

I mean, I could list probably a lot but I think those are the most important ones.

- Yeah, maybe we could make different video talking about

things I wish interpreters would do, or wouldn't do.

- That's a good idea. - Yeah we'll put that down.

- Okay, the next one is from yoot.jpg and they say,

"What is the outlook for interpreters, or people who want to become an interpreter,

who have a disability? If they have a wheelchair, or service dog,

or something like that, are they still able to do a good job?"

That kind of thing. What do you think?

- Well the answer to the end is yes.

You can become an interpreter if you have a disability, depending.

I know some interpreters who have part of their leg missing.

I know some interpreters -- well I know one specific interpreter

who only has I think 4 fingers like this and like that maybe (born that way),

but they can still interpret just fine.

Umm, I personally don't know any specific interpreters in a wheelchair

but I don't think that would matter.

Ummm, I mean... as long as you can be clear, it shouldn't matter I guess.

I mean I would say if you're missing an entire arm,

I don't know if you could become a professional interpreter

just because it would be hard to be clear,

but maybe in some situations you still could.

- Like for example, if you want to be an interpreter

maybe you could be a voice only interpreter.

Just taking things in receptively and doing that.

- Yeah, if you have a voice problem then maybe you could sign only.

You know -- for example, there's CDIs -- I mean it's not --

I'm not saying the CDI is for that reason, but many CDIs don't voice.

They're there for another reason obviously, but they don't voice.

Maybe they could have somebody else there.

You could maybe have someone else voice for you.

Really it's just going to depend on what your, so to speak, disability is.

Maybe you can speak with a company - if a company was to hire you for a specific reason,

there might be limitations with your work.

You could work with other interpreters. Team a lot with people who are willing to do that.

So it's really just going to depend.

I would say, maybe try and see -- figure out what your abilities and strengths are

and then if you pick up sign well... maybe you could --

if you want to become an interpreter, maybe you could talk with an interpreter agency.

Even if you don't know sign that well now, just say,

"Hey I have these specific disabilities, would it be possible to speak with the agency later on

if I were to pick up sign and have good skill?"

See what they say! I'm not 100% sure,

but just because you have a disability does not mean you can't be an interpreter.

Of course not!

- The next person is ladymagic_31, they ask,

"How do you handle awkward situations while interpreting?

How do you maintain professionalism?"

- Well, I mean awkward situations are going to happen.

Most of the time, I just try to keep neutral as much as possible.

I mean I know sometimes it's gonna be awkward and there's not much you can do about that.

But I mean, if you laugh a little or something -- if everyone is laughing

and you snicker, it's not really a big deal.

To maintain professionalism, again try to be as neutral as possible.

Don't try and show too many facial expressions.

If you're disgusted or something like that, just try to be a neutral as possible.

I think that's the best thing you can do, but it happens sometimes.

Okay, the next question is from girloftheseas.

She has quite a long paragraph talking about being involved -- owning a store

and having D/deaf people come in as customers.

But the question is, "As a hearing person, other than learning sign language,

what do you think would provide a better customer service for your community?

Is there a way of making a store or public place more D/deaf friendly?"

- Well, I think the best thing you can do for accessibility

is if you have any sort of videos or TVs, make sure you have the captions on.

That way people can see and understand what's going on.

If that's impossible, maybe if you have your own video

that does not have captions or something like that,

have some sort of text or flyer or some sort of summary or transcript or something

making it equal for D/deaf people so they can read it or something like that.

That would be really great!

Umm, also I would say for all of the workers, just make sure they have paper and pencil ready.

If you don't know sign language, that's perfectly fine.

Just have a back-up way of communicating ready.

I think that kind of thing would be good, really. Yeah.

Just make sure there's good lighting, it's really bright

so you can have good visual communication.

If there's any sort of pathways or something, try to make the a little bit wider if possible.

Just because D/deaf people tend to walk side by side. It's just their generality.

- Just in general an attitude. You know, don't be scared or ignore D/deaf people.

Make sure the employees are aware of what being D/deaf means

and what being D/deaf doesn't mean as well.

Just having awareness I think is a big help. - Yeah, that'd be good.

- Thanks for asking that and trying to improve your store or place.

The next one is from lizbethcalfaro, and she put down a link of a video

and said "Please, please, please react to this."

So I just looked at it because I didn't know what it was

and I've seen it before. It is from Wells Fargo.

It's a commercial I guess... and it has --

there's 2 women learning sign language and at the end

it has the 2 of them and they're adopting a younger deaf girl.

Saying "Hi, we're going to be your moms. We love you."

So she wanted us to react to that.

- I think it's a cute commercial.

Yeah, it shows a good willingness to learn about

the deaf child's language and learning sign language.

So it shows they're making an effort and really are motivated.

So, I think that's really nice to see. It's cute.

- Yeah, and of course lesbian mothers, we're like "Yessss, so cute!"

At the end the little girl's so adorable. I'm like "Ohhhh!"

She's cute. So I like it. I thought it was a really good representation.

Plus, of course, lesbian people adopting woohoo!

Okay, so we have quite a lot more questions left

so we're gonna go ahead and do a part 2 and release that later.

So, now we are going to end the video for today.

So, hopefully you liked part 1 of the Q and A.

I'm happy we've got a lot of questions so far.

I'm sorry it's taken a long time to answer them. - Yeah we got quite a few.

We try our best to answer -- we will! It just may take some time, so part 2.

Trump Just Made An Announcement About Obama's Future That We've All Been Waiting For - Duration: 2:01.

Trump Just Made An Announcement About Obama's Future That We've All Been Waiting For

Donald Trump has just announced that when he becomes President on January 20th,

he will immediately convene a panel of investigators and appoint a special prosecutor to investigate Barack Obama for his many crimes against America.

The announcement, which came through his official Press Secretary and not Twitter,

comes just after Obama made the ridiculous claim that he could have beaten Trump in the election:

"Mr. Trump believes President Obama is guilty of breaking the Constitution many, many ways,

including writing executive orders to avoid legislating illegal actions, hating America and siding with the terrorists

and conspiring with our enemies in Iran and Palestine against the good and noble people of Israel."

This is it, Patriots! Just like we've been saying along with no evidence to back it up, Obama is a traitor.

Now that trump has issued an official statement it's definitely real.

Trump's panel will be led by the unbiased Mike Huckabee who has already chosen Governor Sarah Palin,

Huckabee will also be adding a tribunal of civilians including Jon Voit, Scott Baio and Former Buffalo Bills Head Coach Rex Ryan,

It's gonna be a wild ride, patriots! Time for Obummer to pay for his crimes

We won't stand by and let him take away none of our guns, fix the economy,

add millions of jobs and save the auto industry without paying dearly for it.

He's a Muslim fascist communist dictator socialist from Kenya and Trump will make him rue the day he ever decided to run for President.

An Inheritance Incorruptible - Sabbath School Lesson 2, Q2, 2017 - Duration: 8:00.

"An Inheritance Incorruptible."

Last week we had a quick pick in what Peter's life was after he met Jesus.

Now that we know who wrote the letters that we will be reading for the next three months,

it only makes sense to find out and to determine who it was addressed to.

Then we want to know, what motivated him to write it?

What was the message conveyed and the issues he opened up talking about?

I'm really curious to know what was in Peter's mind in these early stages of Christ's church.

Yes, the historical context is important if you want to properly understand the message.

And this week we're basically looking through chapter one of the first letter.

So Peter the addressor, writes two official letters to the addresses, namely

"To the God's elect, exiles scattered throughout the province of Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia and Bithhynia."

So these were people who were living in those provinces and geographically today this is Turkey.

But who were they?

Were they pagans? Gentiles?

Definitely not!

Were they Jews, or were they newly converted believers?

There is no definitive answer,

there are evidences for either one.

But, most likely these were people consistent of both groups, Jews and newly converted Gentiles.

What was clear was that they were the elected from God.

The letters were not merely a public letter, but disclosed messages, specific and exclusively for the followers of Christ.

So, the author is Peter and he presents himself as an apostle of Jesus Christ.

He writes to Jewish and/or Gentile believers in a specific region, and he calls them "elected".

The lesson makes a point to clarify that God doesn't choose who is to be saved or lost.

This is our choice, but He also knows us very well so He knows.

This is a very interesting topic, however, it's not the center of the lesson.

The next question is what did Peter have to tell those believers,

who were one of the first ones to join the legacy of Christ, His church.

First and foremost, his intent to lift up God and His promises,

God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit,

and His promise of inheritance incorruptible and undefiled one that does not fade away reserved in heaven for you.

After all, most of the recipients of his letters simply believe the testimony of Peter and those who had seen Jesus.

To us it seem like those people were one hand stretched away,

from seeing Jesus, from meeting Jesus very close.

Where in reality they apply the same trust and the same faith,

as we do today in what they were hearing from the apostles and what was demonstrated to them.

Think about the time of these letters, it wasn't popular to be a Christian then.

It was a choice that was making sense for many of them and decision that they did because they believed,

in the messages from the apostles,

they wanted the values that Jesus was preaching and they desired His return, but life was harsh.

There were persecutions, there were issues, so Peter finds it important to encourage them,

and to remind them about their hope.

Jesus' resurrection won an inheritance for us, secured our salvation.

And Peter makes a point that all prophets from the ancient testament,

they search intently about this grace that we are now enjoying,

and that in fact, they were us when they spoke about those things.

Grace and salvation, rebirth of hope, things that even the angels long to look into.

Peter also talks about Christian motivation in Chapter 1:13-21,

Three motivational points of what really drives our behavior as Christians.

First one, God's character,

overwhelms our mind and our heart.

Second point, our Father is a judge and He will bring justice.

And this brings so much hope and expectation of the future.

Everything that we believe has value!

And the third point is, we are redeemed!

Jesus gave it all, He paid the price for our imperfections, so now we can

forget the past, focus on the present and in the future.

Motivation was important in those days of suffering and persecution.

For us to be constantly and consistently loving in the many things that we do, we need a solid and permanent

power of motivation.

And Peter knew that from experience,

he knew it from the divine, personal touch of Jesus.

He carried this experience and he wanted it to be owned also by those who were elected by God.

Motivation is very important.

Okay, we have made a decision some time ago, but do we still want it?

Is it worth it?

Is it the right decision?

So Peter is saying, you guys now should be able to see it even better than you did before.

You should be able to see what is right and wrong, what is good and bad.

You have been opened to a different hope, to higher standards.

Yes, it's a struggle, but don't be slaves to these desires that you have been set free from.

Look at God and aim there.

You know that God will judge and that right will be re-established.

These things will change!

And remember the price that was paid for you.

This shows how valuable you are, how important you are for God,

does anyone else really care as much for you?

Peter makes some great points.

The first chapter of the first letter ends with a heartfelt appeal.

"Love one another deeply, from the heart."

It comes as a conclusion of all the thoughts preceding in this chapter,

as the wisdom of all said above by Peter.

Usually you would expect something like this coming from John,

who spoke of love so often and with such persistence.

Now we discover that Peter saw also everything hanging on love and grace only.

After all he was commissioned to "feed the sheep of God."

And Jesus showed no other example but of love and sacrifice.

In the opening of his letter to the believers scattered as exiles,

Peter encourages them by referencing to their inheritance.

He asks them to remember, he motivates them,

And then he commissions them to look out for each other.

Join us again next week for the lesson: "A Royal Priesthood"

Story Time - A Boy Who Deals with Self Hate by Being a Mean Pirate - Duration: 10:13.

- This is the story about a young boy

who dressed up like a pirate for a year

to hide an enormous scar on the side of his face.

Hey everyone, welcome back!

For those of you that don't know story time with Nate

is when I tell a story off the top of my head.

Nothing, and I mean nothing has been pre-written

which means things can get a little crazy.

So if you're new to this channel and that sounds amazing,

please hit that Subscribe button below right here.

Right here.

Today's story takes place in May.

One year ago today, a young boy named Frank

was diagnosed with a brain tumor.

One month later he had surgery which saved his life.

However it left an enormous scar on the side of his face,

a scar he would have to live with for his entire life

and he would have to confront that fact.

The first day of school three months ago,

he was considered a war hero.

A battle scar on his face had seen death

and confronted it and said "Not today!"

A week later he started to be teased.

The bully of the classroom called him Frankenstein,

and not in that cool sort of way,

in that way that said you are deformed,

something is wrong with you, you are an outsider

and you will never get in.

This weaned on Frank.

The next Monday he came to school dressed as a pirate.

He had that pirate hat cocked on one side,

the skull upfront, an eyepatch,

and he had this long billowy tan shirt.

He had boots that went up to his knees,

and he even spoke like a pirate.

When his name was said in the roll call one morning,

"Frank?

"Frank, are you here?"

"Arr," he said.

Dressing up like a pirate allowed him to be someone else,

allowed him to deflect any sort of negativity

that was directed at Frank the person,

'cause he was no longer Frank the person,

he was Frankie Black Beard, the pirate,

the most evil on the seven seas.

He stole treasure, he found doubloons in the sea,

he had a parrot on his shoulder and a wooden leg.

It wasn't about deformity, it was about how much gold

he had and how many people feared him.

But the more he became Frankie Black Beard,

the more he lost himself.

The more outgoing he appeared, the more disconnected

from that empathetic, kind, smart Frank inside.

His grades started to fall, he started not talking

to anyone but his self during recess.

He would go on walks around the school

talking to himself in that pirate jolly voice.

"Arr me matey!

"Go walk the plank."

He would walk up to every child in school

and tell them to walk the plank.

In fact, he would sometimes push them

towards this imaginary plank in the concrete.

It became so bad that the principal

had to call Frank's parents and says,

"Frank, Frankie has been pushing the other kids.

"No, I know he's been through a lot

"but we can't have that kind of abuse."

So his parents sat him down that evening and said,

"Frankie, we will allow you to wear that costume,

"but we cannot allow you to hurt other people."

And then he sat there, silent for five minutes straight,

five minutes and 20 seconds straight,

and when he finally spoke he said,

"But why can they hurt me if I can't hurt them?"

It was the most poignant, devastating thing

Frankie's parents had ever heard

and they just couldn't bring it upon themselves

to punish Frank for pushing other children.

So he continued to push other children till on day,

the day of the story.

On May 12th, he while walking around the school yard

bumped into a girl,

a girl he'd never seen before,

a girl dressed up in a lion's outfit whose name was Poppy.

"Hi, my name is Poppy, rrrrr," she said.

Frank didn't know whether to laugh

or to cry or to hug her, but he sat there,

dumbfounded eyes open big, and smiled.

"Arr, he said.

"My name is Frank."

He didn't say Frankie Black Beard.

You see he saw something in this little girl

that perhaps she didn't even see herself.

So they sat down and ate lunch together,

a peanut butter and jelly sandwich,

and he offered her a carrot stick.

She chomped on that and said,

"Lions don't normally eat veggies

"but this one is good."

In that lion voice of hers.

"Arr, you're welcome," he said.

Slowly but surely he started turning

into a kind pirate, Frankie the Kind,

and she no longer roared at people.

She stopped roaring in that conversation

with Frank that one afternoon.

Turns out Poppy, the lion, had leukemia.

Her skin had grown pale and she had lost her hair,

which is why she had a hoodie on that had ears.

She had a nose plastered on her face with whiskers.

Every now and then she came to school

dressed in orange stripes.

They spent the rest of the school year

eating silently together in the recess.

On the last day of class they promised each other

they would do one thing.

You see Frank had been told by his teacher

that Poppy would not be returning to school next year.

Leukemia was fatal turns out.

Frankie wasn't told bad, he was told that she was moving,

but Frankie was too smart and understood

what she will not be back meant.

And so, the day before the last class,

as they were eating their sandwich,

as he offered her carrots, as they conversed in silence,

he broke that silence and said, "Poppy, tomorrow

"I'm not going to wear or be a pirate."

She sat there in silence and understood and the next day,

the next day they both came to class without costume.

Frank was wearing a button up, blue collared shirt,

tan and his hair was quaffed perfectly with comb

that his mother hadn't used in years.

He had red cheeks.

He was happy.

He was happy for the first time in who knows how long.

Long before he was spending months in the hospital.

And Poppy while weak came to school

in a pink, flower dress.

She had a school paddle that had red stripes,

a bow tie in her hair and a pony tail.

She, too, had red cheeks 'cause she was happy.

She was struggling to walk.

Oh, I just realized that she doesn't have any hair.

But it turns out that she had a wig,

a beautiful wig that had been given to her

but she had never worn it before

because she was afraid to be teased.

She was afraid it would be pulled from her.

But today, she no longer feared.

You see that lion had taken away that fear,

she no longer needed to feel pain.

And that was because Frankie and Poppy had developed

a recognition for each other and that,

that would last a lifetime for both of them.

Poppy would pass away, Frankie would live on,

that scar still deep in his face,

but when he looked in the mirror,

he didn't see a pirate, he saw a lion,

a courageous, brave lion

that would not be hurt by words anymore.

That is the end of the story.

I kind of flubbed a little but when I said she had hair

but you see how I turned it around.

That just goes to show you this is truly happening as I go.

I hope you enjoyed it.

If you did and you aren't a subscriber,

please feel free, I hope you do anyways,

to hit that Subscribe button because these videos

That was a good story, I like that story.

I will see you next time.

Don't forget that I love you.

Sidechain trick: Using an EQ and peak controller to sidechain only the low frequencies - Duration: 3:08.

In this quick-tip video you will learn how to sidechain using an EQ.

Many professionals often use this trick when they need to sidechain important elements

such as their leads.

Using an EQ for the sidechain allows the low end to cut through without causing the leads

to lose rhythm.

A typical sidechain will lower the entire volume of a sound when the kick hits.

This way, only the low frequencies will be sidechained, allowing the rest to cut trough.

So let's get to it:

Make a kick.

Route it to mixer insert one.

Then, let's make a pad, and route it to mixer insert two.

We're now going to sidechain this pad to the kick, so load the peak controller as an

effect on mixer insert one.

Next, load an EQ on mixer insert 2.

Now, decide which parameter you want to automate and then right click on it.

Select "link to controller".

Select this one.

You can use these knobs to fine tune the amount.

Instead of using your main kick, you can of course use a ghost kick instead if you prefer

that.

2017 TBR UNWRAPPING #26 | AN EXCITING APRIL TBR?! [CC] - Duration: 7:21.

Hey, BookTube. It's Sylwia. I know I

recently did a TBR unwrapping but I've

read a majority of those books. I need

something to read, actually, which is why

I'm doing this TBR unwrapping. I'm

waiting for some of those other books to

come in for me on audio from the library.

So, today we are opening up 12 books.

We're going to start with a fantasy. This

is thin but it's very heavy.

[groan]

Two Christmases ago, my mom went to Poland

and my family members, they wanted to buy

me presents, so we asked them to get me

Polish children's books, except my Polish

reading level is belowww what children can

read, so even though I'm a fluent Polish-

speaker, I can't read Polish very well.

I'll try it, but this sounds like it'll

be exhausting. Let's open up a book from

my "random" wrapping paper which means I

have no idea what genre this is.

Oh! Okay.

This is a new adult romance, and i

haven't read many "good" new adult

romances yet, however this is supposed to

be one of the better ones out there, so

I'm going to read it and I will let you

know. This is my last fantasy tie-dye

wrapping paper so after I unwrap this

one, there will be no more tie-dye

fantasy in my unwrappings.

Oh, I know what this is! Okay!

I was wondering where this

was. This is Dreaming the Eagle by Manda

Scott. This is about Boudicca, if any of

you know about history, Boadicea, I

believe, is an actual historical figure,

but dreaming the eagle is a series.

There's a fictional Boudicca. So it's

based on the real person. I am in the

perfect mood for this since. I am kind of

in a fantasy mood. Let's open up another

fantasy. This is a mass market so I'm

assuming this is going to be Lies of

Locke Lamora, but it might not be because

i don't remember putting that in this

wrapping paper.

I think it is?

Nooooo! Oh, no, no!

The Golden Compass. I actually have two copies of

this in the wrapping paper so we will

get this one over with. This one I

borrowed from someone. I borrowed this

exact edition from two different people

and I don't remember which one of them I

borrowed this one from and when I asked

them, they don't remember either, so I

don't know what I'm going to do with

this. I've tried to read The Golden

Compass a couple of times and I didn't

like it any of the times. When the movie

came out, I loved the movie, so this will

be the last chance that I give The

Golden Compass and then it's out, it's

over with. Let's open up a contemporary.

Oh. I hope this is- [gasp!]

I hope this is Ocean at the End of the Lane but I think

this might be

Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe.

Oh my God! I haven't read this yet which I

know is, like, breaking all sorts of rules.

I cannot wait to read this.

[exhale] My heart's not ready. This is the second to last

historical fiction. Oh, I can see through

the cover. I already know what this is.

Let's open it up!

Yup!

So, this is one of those

books that I don't expect that I would

enjoy very much but all of you guys love

it. Actually, I've heard great things

about Ruta Sepetys recently so I think

I might enjoy this. Huh. Let's open up a

horror/mystery/thriller. This is also

the second to last in this wrapping

paper, but the last one is Under the Dome

so it'll be a while before I unwrap that

one. Let's check this one out.

What are you?

You look new. [GASP!] This is gonna be

The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer. Yes! Okay, I think

I'm gonna like this one, but again I

think I'm gonna like a lot of books

that I don't like. These are my either

classics or literary fiction, and also

this is the second to last one in this

wrapping

paper, and the last one in this wrapping

paper is The Hunchback of Notre Dame

which I will be not unwrapping for a

long time.

Oh.

Okay. Heh, heh! Catch-22. I will give it

a chance. This book does not belong to me.

This is a book that I borrowed from

probably the same person I borrowed The

Golden Compass from. I will give it a try.

I have low, low to minimum expectations

of this one. I want to open another

contemporary. This one is mass market so

I'm going to assume this is The

Undomestic Goddess by Sophie Kinsella.

We'll see. We'll be able to see by the spine if it's yellow.

It's not yellow ...

[GASP!] Oh!

Oh, even better! Oh, I've been hoping that I

unwrap one of my Sarah Dessen books. I

have maybe five wrapped up. I've only

read one of our books and I really

enjoyed it. How to Deal. I think this is

two books in one so for those of you who

have more information on this, please

explain to me how this works. Is this two

books in one where they're halfway apart

or is this, like, two books in one

combined? Like, how do I read this? Can I

count this as two books? Let me know. But

I'm very excited about this. This is,

again, my "random" wrapping paper. I have

the most books wrapped in this kind, so

sometimes I like to open two at a time.

I'm hoping it's Ocean at the End of the

Lane. I'm really ready for that one.

Oh, it could be.

No, it's not.

What is it? What is it?

Ooohh!

Okay.

Antigoddess, hahaha, by Kendare Blake. I don't read a lot of urban

fantasy so this will be a little out of

my comfort zone. I think I was trying to

buy The Goddess Test and I bought this

by mistake. I don't know, we'll see. Let's

open a very thin contemporary.

What are you?

Oh!

This is a book that I got for free. The Addict:

One Patient, One Doctor, One Year By

Michael Stein. This is going to be one of

those books where it's either going to

be really "bad" or really "good". And as

usual I end these videos off with a "most

anticipated" book. This, I will most likely,

almost safely assume this is a manga.

Let's see what it will beee.

Yeah.

The next volume in The Ancient Magus' Bride,

Volume 3. I have a review of

volume one that I will link in the card. I

am very pleased with this unwrapping. I

don't know if i was able to properly

convey those kinds of emotions because

I've had an exhausting week, but I'm very

excited about these books. I will be

reading these books next, so tell me

which one are you excited for me to

review. Come talk to me in the comments! <3

How To Travel Around London and Buy an Oyster Card - Important Tips! - Duration: 5:26.

Recently a friend of mine was in London and didn't know which Tube ticket to buy or whatever it is

that you use to travel on the buses and tubes in London

now if you're from the uk you can just use your contactless credit card

about which more later, but if you're from abroad, you just arrived

And you don't know where you live, what your name is,

or where you're going; you probably don't want to pay all those foreign bank fees on your transactions

So it's probably easier to get an oyster card

now don't be that person who hangs around for ages and gets in everybody's way

First thing you want to do is come over here and hit get new card

You can decide here how many cards you want, but there's only one of me

So I want one new oyster card

hit confirm

You then have to decide how much money you want to put onto your oyster card

It's pay as you go

so it depends on how many journeys you do per day and

Then it'll cap it as a day travelcard

Now a lot of people panic when they first arrive in London at Heathrow for example

and say look, do I buy a weekly pass, or do I buy a pay-as-You-go top up

now, so I think the best thing to do is when you arrive just stick 15 pounds credit on to an oyster card and then

that buys you some time to decide what kind of the journeys you're going to be making after that,

So start with 15 pounds. the oyster part is a five-pound depo sit, which you pay

and the pay as you go Cedit is 15 pounds so altogether it's 20 pounds

now don't worry, you'll get your deposit back when you return your card

plus any unused credit as long as it's under 10 pounds

and VOILA!

why nice fresh oyster card ready for use

Now the left side of the escalator is for people who are much busier than you

So as far as londoners are concerned

if you're standing on the wrong side you basically have no human rights

And you will be ploughed out the way by people like me

Excuse me get out of the bloody way please!

Your're on the wrong side of the escalator.

Did you honestly not notice that everyone was...

alright!

Pretty obvious isn't it?

I didn't see the signs

On no account must you speak to anybody

make sure that you keep your head phones in...

You're not allowed to speak to me

We're in London

Oh, you're not a Londoner

I keep meeting northerners, what's going on

They actually speak to you on the tube.

you really are amateur, you haven't even got your headphones in

amateur

Excuse me. I'm going to stare at my phone now

So if you're in a real hurry, you can just swipe your credit card or your debit card as long as it's got this

Contactless symbol on it

now that will work in exactly the same way as a pay-as-You-go credits on an oyster card

but you don't have to top this up at the machine or anything .

you just take it and you just scan it straight onto the machine

and don't be one of those people who gets in the way and stands in front of the ticket Gate. Sorry

Remember you can't use cash on the bus so you've got to use your card

The thing about the oyster card it that you can use it again and again and again

and if you use its a 50 times in one day

it won't go above a certain amount so you can just continue using it all day long. They call it a "capping"

I think it's mout sort of six or seven quid or something

I Particularly like the number 15 bus because you can get one of these old routemasters, and they're really good

They follow a route all the way from trafalgar square past the royal courts of justice

The monument

Sweeney Todd's [Barbershop]

and it finishes up by the tower of [London]. There's so much more space on these as well

I just feels so much more comfortable and you can even open the window here

look at that

I hate those horrible new ones

this seat over here in the corner ....my friend used to call it the molesters seat

weirdos and pervs used to sit in this one. I rather like it

You can sit at the back of the bus [and] just sort of observe everybody gets on from over here

thank you.

You can even use it on the boat, but it does cost a little bit more

But you really have to remember to swipe out

It's very important otherwise you get charged extra

Sometimes the gates are already open

and a lot of people think I know I won't get charged if I just walk straight through

But that's not the case you'll get charged eight pounds!

some stations Don't even have ticket gates

so make absolutely sure that you touch in and out properly otherwise you can get absolutely skinned on the fare

be careful

You can even use it on the emirates airlines

Excellent

it cost's £3.40 for an adult and £1.70 for a child if you have an oyster cost

In many ways there's no need to pay for one of those expensive guided tour buses

with so many joolz guides online

You can just access them on your phone

and with an oyster card you can get around London for a reasonable price

If you enjoy my films do please subscribe to the channel

Bon voyage!!

Xiaomi Mi 5C Review - Duration: 18:12.

Hey guys this is Richard.

As you might have noticed, Xiaomi has released the Xiaomi Mi 5C, joining the family of the

Xiaomi Mi 5.

This phone is a little different though.

Instead of using the chipset from popular manufacturers, they are using the Xiaomi surge

S1, their first in house chipset.

The Mi 5C looks different from its counterparts.

It's nice that they are trying make the 5C have a refreshing design.

But I'm not entirely fond of the plastic strips at the back of the phone.

The back is made metal and has rounded sides, it feels quite good on the hands.

On the other hand it feels very slippery and I recommend a case along with it.

The front display has a 2.5D glass edge but I don't see any news about the type of glass

it's made of.

There is a piece of plastic in between the display and the metal body.

There are 2 antenna bands each on the top and bottom, but I prefer the design of the

previous Mi 5.

The form factor is small with the 5.15 inch display, using it one handed shouldn't be

a problem for most people.

Power and volume buttons can be easily located and have a nice tactile feedback.

A single speaker grill sits at the right of the Type C USB port.

It's small and has some loudness at maximum volume.

Holding the phone in landscape mode will definitely cover up the speaker.

In the Audio settings, there is an Equalizer option and you can also assign buttons for

compatible earphones.

The home button also acts as a fingerprint sensor, it's raised up and easy to feel with

the fingers.

The top right is where the LED light is and you can do simple customizations with preset

colors.

The camera module is placed behind the plastic strips and it's great that it's not protruding.

But what I am worried is that overtime the plastic strip will get scratches easily and

it's going to block out the lens.

I wonder about this design choice and hope that the strip will be resistant enough.

The Xiaomi Mi 5C packs a 5.15 inch FHD resolution display and it's rather refreshing to be using

a smaller device after being used to bigger displays.

The black bezels are quite minimal as compared to other Xiaomi phones and it doesn't really

affect viewing experience.

Xiaomi knows about the unsightly black borders and is taking steps to reduce it in size.

Small display with FHD means higher PPI.

The contents on the screen is full of detail and very sharp.

It's using a LED backlit display and the colors are very vibrant and the display is bright

enough to be used in direct sunlight.

There is an option to adjust the contrast and colors to your liking.

Viewing angles are great with little loss of detail and the capacitive buttons are backlit.

Both the navigation buttons are labelled as a dot and you can choose either one as Back

or Menu button.

The unlock speed of the fingerprint sensor is really quick and almost instant, almost

100%.

But merely tapping of the home button does not unlock the device when the display is off.

You will need to press the home button to wake the device to trigger the sensor.

It's kind of funny that their mid range phones has this feature but their flagship range does not.

Hope Xiaomi will fix this in future.

There is a IR blaster on the Mi 5C where you can control your home devices with the

Mi Remote app.

It's missing on the Mi5S and it's nice they brought it back.

The Xiaomi Mi 5C only comes with 64GB of storage and 3GB of RAM.

Out of the box it has about 53GB of storage free and there is no support for micro SD card.

This phone also does not support USB OTG and it does not detect the Type C USB Thumbdrive

when I plug it in.

It comes with dual SIM support but it only supports China telecom TD-LTE.

Initially, inserting my SIM card does not detect any network.

But after searching the internet for some work-around, I found an online thread that shows

how to unlock the FDD-LTE bandwidth on the Mi 5C.

After following the steps, my SIM card can now be recognised.

The link will be in the description below.

Other specs of the Mi 5C are, 2860mAh battery with fast charge, Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi 802.11

a/b/g/n/ac, FM Radio, 12MP back camera, 8MP front camera, GPS and all the common sensors

like proximity, compass and gyroscope.

The main feature of the Mi 5C is the new in house chipset by Xiaomi, the Pinecone or Surge S1.

The GPU used is the Mali-T860MP4.

Running benchmarks on 2 different battery profiles, Balanced and Performance, yield

quite a significant difference.

42626 on the Balanced setting and 57537 on the Performance.

There wasn't any noticeable differences in real life usage though.

Gaming on the Mi 5C seems like it's able to take on demanding games quite well.

Loading times was relatively quick, no stuttering or slowdowns that I noticed.

Playing Dead Effect 2 with default settings was good.

But when I set it to extreme settings, it wouldn't load at the start and the menu started

to lag a lot.

While in the game I managed to change the settings and the game fails to render the scene properly.

Well if you don't mind gaming at default settings, I guess it's still quite alright, but Xiaomi

has to check on this.

The phone does get quite hot when gaming for longer durations.

Everyday multitasking was good with the 3GB of RAM onboard.

No signs of slowdowns but apps do launch and load a little slow.

Phone calls sounded clear on both sides with reception bars hovering around 4-5 bars most

of the time.

The Xiaomi Mi 5C is running MIUI 8.1 on top of Android 6.0.

It's a China ROM so Google Apps need to be installed.

The Google Installer can be downloaded from the Xiaomi App store.

MIUI is heavily changed by Xiaomi and the whole look and feel of the UI is nearly identical

to the other Xiaomi phones.

One obvious change is the absence of an App drawer, but that can be fixed with a custom

launcher.

In the Themes App, you can further customize the UI with themes, wallpapers and such.

In the Security app, several tools and functions are combined together like Optimization, Cleaner

to clear unwanted junk, Battery function like getting a heads up if the device temperature

gets too hot.

There is also virus scanning and Permissions to control individual app permissions.

The scanner apps has QR Code, Shopping mode where you can take a photo of an item and

it search through Taobao (a Chinese Website) and displays the products.

Translate where you place a word or phrase into the frame and it translates on the fly.

Study mode where it solves Math problems, Business card and Document scanner.

At the lock screen, swiping left or right opens your favorite chosen apps.

You can also open the camera quickly by pressing volume down twice.

To protect your Apps from being opened by others, use the App Lock and set a password

before allowing the app to be opened.

Other features include changing toggles position and layout

do not disturb mode

child mode

Quick Ball

customize buttons

one handed mode

and Reading mode to reduce background glare.

2 features that comes with MIUI that I like are the Second Space and Dual App.

Second Space creates a 2nd workspace where you can share documents, photos and apps between

each other.

It's like having 2 different devices in 1 phone.

Dual App is where it makes a copy of a compatible app where it functions independently from

each other.

The 2860mAh battery seems a little small with the fact that the Mi5S with the same screen

size manage to pack in a 3200mAh battery.

I wouldn't mind if the phone was a little thicker for space to add in a larger battery.

It still lasted the throughout the day with moderate use.

My daily usage are the common phone functions like calls, messaging, gaming, web surfing

and stuff like that.

Usually, I unplug the phone at 8am and plug it back by 9-10pm.

By then I would have around 15-25% battery left.

If I have plans in the night, I needed to charge the phone mid day to last till around

12-2am.

The supplied charger comes with 5V/2.5A, 9V/2A and 12V/1.5A rating and took around 1 hour 15 mins

to 1 hour 45 mins to charge from 0% - 100%.

There is the Power settings to see battery temperature, usage time, Apps that have been

using the battery and Battery Saver mode that monitor background processes.

The Xiaomi Mi 5C has a 16MP back camera and a 8MP front camera.

The stock camera app has functions like Beautify, Tilt-Shift, Panorama

and HHT (Hand Held Twilight) mode.

Tap on the triple circle icon to access the camera filters.

Daytime photos with good lightning retains sharpness but the colors doesn't seem that

vibrant to me.

It would be nicer if the colors look more saturated.

Night shots looked pretty good to me but some noise and blurriness can be seen.

There is a button that looks like a film icon which becomes colored when active.

It apparently enhances the colors in the photos.

This option wasn't there when I was using it, until a software update came.

Manual focusing speeds is very quick and keep the focused object look sharp.

But for continuous auto focus, it can sometimes fail to focus on the target object.

Macro shots can be done with a maximum distance of 10-15cm between camera and object.

HDR mode takes longer to process photos and makes the scene look generally brighter.

The HHT (Hand Held Twilight) mode is to improve night shots but comparing the photo between

this and normal mode, I honestly didn't see much difference.

In Manual mode, you can adjust settings like White Balance, Focus, Exposure Time and ISO.

There is no OIS on the Mi 5C so videos will definitely be shaky.

Previously it can only record up to 1080p but in the latest update, 4K video recording

support was added.

Front camera works well as a selfie camera and helps to remove blemishes on my face with

the beautify tool.

At SGD338, it's relatively cheaper as compared to the other Mi5 counterparts at launch.

Maybe because Xiaomi wanted to test the market with their new chipset.

It's able to take on most games on the market but definitely not on the highest settings.

Daily usage was good, UI and app loading works generally well.

Quite disappointed with the battery life, not surprising with the size of it.

The Mi 5C is like the budget version of the flagship series.

If I were to choose, I will get the Mi5 or Mi5S over this, which should be cheaper by now.
