>> Joining us now is Eric Williams.

He's an associate professor at the Golisano Institute for Sustainability at the Rochester

Institute of Technology in New York.

He's live via Skype from there.

What would you say the opportunities are that e-waste presents in terms of recycling?

>> Electronic waste is very different from other things we use the word waste for.

In many cases electronic waste is still functional or can be easily repaired when someone wants

the device.

So a considerable industry in both the developed and developing world is engaging in repairing

and reselling this end of life electronics.

This is relevant to the digital divide.

The digital divide is the idea that information technology widens the gap between developed

and developing worlds.

Now while the digital divide is very complicated, the cost of electronics is an issue.

So if you can't afford a computer, you can't learn how to use one.

So millions of people around the world have gotten access to this equipment due to this

repair and reuse industry.

So I think the opportunity is how to get the most economic and social value out of these

end of life electronics.

>> Tell us about the environmental impacts both of e-waste itself and the trading of

e-waste between countries because this is something that is going on right now.

>> Sure.

So there is a downside.

The problem is you have these very valuable materials in e-waste such as gold and copper.

And it's mixed into the devices in a very complicated way, so it's very technologically

challenging to get it out in an environmentally safe way.

And so what happens is it ends up in the hands of these informal recyclers in the developing

world who don't have the technology and then use very destructive processes to recycle

it.

For example wires.

With wires, you want the copper inside, but you don't want the insulation.

So there are machines that could chop the wire up and can sort them into copper and

casings, but when you don't have the machine, what people are doing is piling those up and

then setting the insulation on fire.

Insulation is a chlorine-containing plastic.

When you burn it there's very bad environmental pollution and this is causing substantial

harm in these areas.

So there are also problems with recycling circuit boards.

People use cyanide and acids to get the gold out.

>> In what ways can we do a better job of tackling the e-waste challenge?

>> As was mentioned earlier in the program, one of the main ways governments are trying

to tackle this is trade bands.

And the idea is that much of these electronics is coming from the developed to the developing

world, and if we stop that flow, then it will solve the problem.

The problem is that if you run the numbers, most of the e-waste is being generated in

the developing world rather than the developed.

So even if you succeed in cutting off that trade, you won't solve the problem.

So I think there is a need for direct intervention to do better at dealing with the impacts of

informal recycling.

>> We're running out of time unfortunately.

Thank you so much for talking with us.

What Neil Gorsuch Just Did on LIVE TV SHOCKED Everyone! This PROVES Trump Made the Right Pick for SC - Duration: 12:22.

What Neil Gorsuch Just Did on LIVE TV SHOCKED Everyone!

This PROVES Trump Made the Right Pick for SCOTUS!

One of the most important decisions a President will make is who he will nominate as the next

Supreme Court Justice.

It's clear that President Trump knew what he was doing when he chose Neil Gorsuch.

Gorsuch is a man of integrity and that was proven today when Gosuch surprised everyone

and had a heartfelt moment with his wife.

Right in the middle of his confirmation hearing, Neil Gorsuch stopped everything and professed

his love.

"I could not even attempt to do this without Louise my wife of over 20 years.

The sacrifices she has mad and her open and giving heart that leave me in awe.

I love you so much."

Gorsuch said.

It's clear that Neil Gorsuch's strong and loving marriage has inspired him to become

the man he is today.

Just like our president, Gorsuch is a man with heart, and you don't see that very

often these days.

Neil Gorsuch is a loyal man and he will remain just as loyal to the laws of this country.

Great pick Mr. President!

CLEARED!

What James Comey Just CONFIRMED About Trump and Russia Should Shut Democrats Up FOR GOOD!

Democrats have been pushing the narrative that President Trump only won the election

because he was working with the Russians.

Well, that claim was SHOT DOWN today by the Director of the FBI James Comey.

"James Comey officially CONFIRMED that there is NO EVIDENCE of collusion between President

Trump and Russia.

"

When asked if Former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper was wrong for saying

that there was no evidence of Trump colluding with Russia, James Comey admits that Clapper

was right.

Here is the one minute exchange that the liberal media is conveniently ignoring…

Democrats have tried every way possible to delegitimize our president, but no matter

how hard they try, they keep coming up empty handed!

Did Russia expose some of Hillary's dirty secrets?

Yes.

But Had she not been LYING to the American people, there would have been nothing to expose.

President Trump won this election fair and square and Democrats can't stand it.

The media has ignored this exchange because it CLEARS Trump's name, but they can't

hide the truth forever.

We the people won't stop fighting and exposing the TRUTH for our president!DEMOCRATS ARE

RUINED!

James Comey Just ENDED All Russian Lies with 1 BRUTAL Fact!

Today we finally got some REAL answers from the FBI about the Russian election hacking.

Now Democrats are FREAKING OUT over what James Comey revealed.

They are so SCREWED!

The Democrats decided to ask Comey straight up "Did Russia make ANY attempt to hack

the electoral system?"

That's when Comey and NSA Director Michael S. Rogers dropped this bombshell on them:

THERE IS NO EVIDENCE OF RUSSIA MAKING ANY ATTEMPT TO HACK OUR VOTING PROCESS!

Ouch!

But what about all the claims that Hillary Clinton won and Russia hacked the election?

I mean sure, we already knew that they didn't succeed, but this is saying there was NO attempt

at all!

Oh, and to put icing on the cake, Comey also revealed one key piece of info that TOTALLY

discredits everything the Democrats claimed.

According to the FBI's investigation, Russia was NOT trying to help Donald Trump win.

Putin thought Hillary Clinton (who he hated) was gonna win because of all the polls and

was supposedly working to sabotage her as President.

That means that Trump was voted in by the American people 100%!!

We need to help President Donald Trump set the record straight once-and-for-all and let

the world know that James Comey said the Democrats are FULL OF IT!DEMOCRATS ARE RUINED!

In His First 2 Months In Office, Trump Did The One Thing That Obama Never Could!

Trump has now officially reduced the debt by $100 Billion since Obama increased the

debt by $400 billion.

That's a half a trillion dollar difference.

Are you tired of winning yet??

On January 20th, the day after Trump's inauguration the US Debt stood at $19,947 billion.

By March 16, the most recent US debt stands at $19,846 billion.

That means that Trump has cut the US debt by $100 billion and 0.5% in the very first

months since his inauguration.

President Trump has increased the Debt burden by $400 billion after his inauguration in

March 19th, 2009.

This happened in his first two months in office.

Obama increased our debt by 3.9% during his first Stimulus bill.

It was a colossal failure.

This comes one month after Trump cut the US debt by $12 billion.

It is now at $100 billion.

What Trump Did For This Man In White Proves That He's The Best President Ever!

President Trump stopped his motorcade on Friday to greet supporters while on his way to Mar-a-Lago.

He then invited them over to the "Winter White House" to meet him.

Check out this awesome picture:

Look at the guy on the far left.

This is his story via Reddit:

"For about a year I've been "sign waving" to rally local support for Trump with the

FL Trump Street Team — http://twitter.com/chatrevolve —

and other local patriots.

We fought hard to win Florida and we NEVER gave up hope — even when the media was trying

to psychologically defeat us all and make us think there was NO chance of winning!

We campaigned up until the very last day @ the early voting poll locations.

A number of local centipedes (R- gather to welcome President Trump whenever he flies

home to Palm Beach… and yesterday there was a small group of "hardcore" supporters

who waited all afternoon to show our support for him as he returned back to Mar-a-Largo

from Trump International Golf Club."

*** HELL YES!

This is why he is the people's president.

Here's all of us shortly before the President drove by:

Then check out what Trump did.

Shortly after this pic was taken his motorcade passed by and a white van pulled up and two

White House staffers said that the President wanted to meet them!!

How great!

Here's a video from inside the van.

According to the staffer that picked them up, President Trump liked their "God Bless

Trump" sign.

She said that security led them into the Grand Ballroom.

The President walked in with Steve Bannon and Trump met with all of them.

Trump talked to them like "you guys get it."

He then trashed fake news and how they distorted his meeting with Angela Merkel.

Then he got to meet Steve Bannon and thank him for the "TREMENDOUS job he is doing

on strategy and for crafting the powerful messaging we needed to win."

He left off the story with the following quote:

"What's so amazing about Trump is his historic courage and his sense of empathy.

Even though Mr. Trump is unimaginably wealthy & now sits is the most powerful of all the

globalist elites – he has never forgotten his roots, still sees himself as a hardworking

American patriot, and he STILL cares about normal people.

When he says the America's forgotten men and women will never be forgotten again, believe

him!"

Hugo | Realización TV - Duration: 4:14.

Hugo is a young guy, he is 22 years old. He is studying to be a teacher, he likes being with his friends,

cinema, music and he's single.

A normal person at the end. Apparently…

Welcome to Nesland. Where? Nesland.

This country has a peculiar characteristic: when someone seems to have a gift,

this person has a curse.

Why? You may be thinking…

The answer is easy:

in Nesland, a gift is a superhuman power given by a divine being

who's up there, or down there. Actually, we don't know where it is or even if it's someone or something…

Anyway, it doesn't matter, the thing is that these people have a gift that turn them into a superior being.

With the curse it's checked if these people

are worthy to be talented,

because these geniuses can get rid of it.

But they have to discover this all by theirselves.

And what does this have to do with Hugo?

My dear friends… Hugo has a gift.

You can't imagine how he paints.

He represents our world, creates new ones, makes up stories,

brings to life characters that didn't exist before he painted them…

His hand, his brush and his canvas are melted in one.

His gift? Doing magic through his painting.

His curse? Becoming blind little by little.

Hugo has been trying to discover what is that thing that can break his curse

and he investigates every day about how other geniuses got rid of it.

Indeed, a dancer that was more and more arrhythmic was released

when she met with her first dance couple years later, that couple that made her fly.

Or the story of a singer that was losing his voice

and when he sang his first composition again, he came back to the stages and felt the real passion.

And the pianist that was losing the strength in his hands and got rid of the curse when he went back to Vienne,

the city where he dedicated body and soul to reach the peak of excellence.

But Hugo can't find the exit and every day, the frustration is bigger.

Hugo is painting a horse, or, at least, what he can remember of it.

Strokes, more strokes. Watercolour, charcoal… Nothing.

He gives up and the strength that he is trying to paint turns into hits, anger and impotence.

Suddenly, nothing but silence.

Hugo starts staring at this one direction.

The way seems to be traced by a blinded light.

There it is. His first brush, the brush that makes Hugo

the best in his field.

Hugo looks for his easel and some paper where he can paint.

He starts to paint that brush, a brush that he doesn't need to see because he remembers it perfectly,

a brush that makes him what he really is.

Nesland has a new genius.

Hugo sees again.

Prince Harry's girlfriend Meghan Markle reveals what she and her TV alter ego have in common in a bo - Duration: 2:20.

Prince Harrys girlfriend Meghan Markle reveals what she and her TV alter ego have

in common in a book celebrating female Game Changers.

Meghan Markle writes that her TV alter ego's life is 'a tad more dramatic than mine' in

an essay for a new book celebrating female game changers.

But since the news of her relationship with Prince Harry thrust the actress into the glare

of the global spotlight, it's likely Meghan has been on more of a roller-coaster than

even her Suits character Rachel Zane.

Meghan, whose contribution to success manual The Game Changers is understood to have been

written just a fortnight before her relationship with the royal was made public, also reveals

what she and Rachel have in common - 'our ambition and our taste in shoes'.

The actress also writes that she and her Suits character, an aspiring attorney, are both

'strong willed and driven' in the book.

Meghan appears in The Game Changers: Success Secrets from 40 Women at the Top, alongside

the likes of Arianna Huffington, Gwyneth Paltrow and supermodel Elle Macpherson.

The women featured share advice and life lessons in the success manual, billed as a guide to

becoming a 'fearless, fabulous girl boss'.

Described by the authors Samantha Brett and Steph Adams as 'a force to be reckoned with',

Meghan was asked to feature in the book in recognition of her work as women's ambassador

to the UN and founder of the lifestyle website The Tig as well as as a successful TV actress.

The California-born star, 35, who flew back to Toronto this week following a trip to see

Prince Harry in London, says she manages to squeeze everything in because she is a 'go-getter',

but also because she pursues projects she is 'passionate about'.

One of her key pieces of advice to the book's readers is: 'Don't give it five minutes if

you're not going to give it five years'.

Other successful female stars featured in the new book include media mogul Arianna Huffington,

who advises women to 'experiment and take risks', and stylist to the stars Rachel Zoe,

who says: 'Don't expect a pat on the back for everything you do.'

Office Spaces: The TV show exploring how to create well-designed office spaces, - Duration: 23:59.

I'm Kalyn Rothaus, and that's me at my first building project.

And my first power lunch.

For as long as I can remember I've

wanted to be a designer.

And now here I am creating functional

and fabulous spaces.

This is my client Mark Alfieri, found and

chairman of BrandStar.

And that's Carmen, his Chief

Operating Officer.

In the first season I converted and old

warehouse in to a high tech office space of the future.

But how could I renovate one

building without doing the building next door?

Our high tech renovation continues as

season two gets under way!

Welcome back to Office Spaces, I'm Kalyn Rothous and on our

last episode I met with my client Mark who hired me to

begin phase two of construction on their production facility.

This time around the challenge for me is to renovate the studio

while the creative team was still working hard.

Mark walked me through the building, told me

what his needs were, and I re-assembled my team of

professionals to map out the construction timeline.Anyone

who's dealt with renovations knows that no matter how

prepared you are there are almost always delays.

Now that our construction timeline has

been pushed back due to a couple small bumps...

There has been one major bump.

That's right, I'm having a baby!

But first let's talk about what's happened

since the last episode.

Since I knew Mark needed to find space

for 50 new employees and fast I focused first on how to

transform the empty warehouse area in to office spaces.

But how could I build a space like

that in such a short time frame that could also house this many

employees?

The answer, modular.

Modular construction refers to the use of factory produced

pre-engineered building units.

The components are designed to the same codes as conventionally

built facilities but in a fraction of the time.

I called up my friends at Allied Modular

and sent them my plans.

Then I decided to fly out to their

headquarters to see how it's all made.

I got the chance to meet with Fred Ketcho, President

and CEO of Allied Modular.

There is a real advantage to deciding to go with a modular

building system versus typical construction.

Typical construction takes so much time,

there's so many different people and moving parts and pieces

involved and in order to go modular I was really

interested in seeing their facility today because their

lead time to get this project from design out the door, ready

to ship and deliver and install is extremely short and I wanted

to see how they were doing this.

When you're dealing with permanent construction you

typically have to tear down and start over and so there is a lot

of waste, there's a lot of extra cost.

There's a lot of extra time so a lot of the intrinsic

benefits of modular come in not just with the design flexibility

but also in I think the productivity and

the effectiveness for the clients from a financial

standpoint as well as schedule and productivity standpoint.

Modular construction is not just quicker and more affordable than

conventional construction, it's also incredibly eco-friendly

with little to no waste, it's a smart, sustainable and stylish

solution.

I would describe our company as a very progressive,

modular building systems company and we are in a variety of

different markets and industries.

In terms of making a building green the

pre-fabrication that occurs off site is very clean.

It limits the amount of waste, which

simplifies the process once you're on the location.

You know you can only visualize so

much when you're looking at a 2D plan but when it comes in to 3D

you can really see where you want to make changes before the

structure is actually built.

Then, I met with Gabe and Khan who took me through a 3D

model of my original design.

So as you guys know I've had this

challenge to convert this warehouse space in to an office

to seat 50 people.

I need a 3D model in order to show my

clients so that they understand what this really looks like.

You know I've toured your facility,

I'm seeing how this sort of comes together and it's

important for me to be able to take this back and show my

client what this thing is going to look like.

With the 3D model we can already visualize the

final project and know what it's going to look like.

Awesome.

If i'm standing on the first floor and I'm walking up this

here?

So those are the five upstairs, your 5 offices

downstairs and then the open floor plan in front of the

offices which is below the mezzanine.

There's a real benefit in being able to see a

3D model because I can only visualize so much of it in my

mind looking at finishes and plans, but when I see it coming

together in a 3D model it really allows me to make design

decisions or changes or corrections to the actual

structure before it's fabricated and cost a lot of money to

build.

This looks awesome.

And I really like the under side of

the mezzanine.

That looks really cool open like that.

You know this space is really for a

creative team I think to make it not like the corporate head

quarters for the creatives, right?

To make it much more industrial and funky and cool

and fun.

I love the brushed aluminum, I like the powder

coated steel.

I think it looks really cool with the black.

On this, we did it this way, but we

can definitely add something else or add to the grid ceiling

and go back to the original but we were always on the industrial

theme.

It's very cool, this looks awesome guys.

Now that I've been able to see the 3D

model I think it really captures the essence of my design intent.

I was really looking forward to create a fun, funky, industrial

space and I think it really does that.

So a real benefit is that they fabricate everything in

house and custom and they have all of the different components

here.

I mean everything happens under this roof so it really

cuts down on your lead time and allows for the manufacturing

process to be quick and then they actually even pack it here

and get it ready to go on the trucks.

Next, Gabe walked me through their factory to show me

step by step the modular manufacturing process.

Being 100 percent custom anything that

you can really dream of we can do here.

After a design is created the aluminum that makes

up the main portion of the modular structure is cut.

The modular pieces are then painted,

or powder coated, and placed in to a heater to dry.

Windows and glass are created in house, as

well as doors.

This is our window department and here we

make our own windows.

Anything that our customers request we

are able to do it.

It is 100 percent done all here at the

warehouse.

Electrical wiring in each unit is made to be

hidden, out of site, inside the metal structure.

So all of the electrical goes in.

Our wall panels go in to this.

Everything is hidden inside what we call a

raceway.

And it goes from here straight over to our laminating

machine.

When each order is completed it is wrapped, packed,

and ready to ship to location for a quick installation!

These are complete orders that have already been purchased and

they are ready to be shipped out.

After the factory walk through, I had all of the

information I needed in order to make a decision.

(music).

They completed the manufacturing and

then it was time for the Allied Team to install the modular

unit.

We will start off with unloading the truck, staging our

material, laying out the floor track and start putting up walls

for our first floor and all of that should happen in day one.

In this space we are putting in five offices downstairs, five

offices upstairs and then an entire mezzanine will be used

for cubicle workspace.

So it gives you a second story that is

built just like our modular offices in a matter of days

instead of months like your conventional construction.

That's the great thing about modular.

You can always move it to your next facility or if you

need to expand you just take down what was put up and it's

re-usable.

So you don't loose that asset.

It's not like your dry wall and stick built

construction.

It's more than a one time use.

We've been so conditioned around permanent

construction that when they start to see the possibilities

and the flexibility that this offers them it's quite

interesting to see how the light bulbs starts flickering with our

clients and they start to see and they start to imagine what's

possible.

Coming up next...

See how this empty space was transformed in just a matter of

days.

And how one idea can spark an explosion.

(music).

We still have plenty to do before this office space is

usable, but the initial structure is complete.

Time to check in on Ryan, our

construction operations chief, and my general go to guy.

Hi Ryan!

Hey darling!

You need help lifting that?

No absolutely not, not in your condition.

You look great though.

Aw thanks Ryan!

Wow, look at this!

Look how much progress you've made.

Wow.

This is looking really good.

Yep, getting ready to drop the ceiling in there real

soon.

You can see we've got all of the insulation ready to go.

It's a lovely pile over there (laughter) The mural, it looks

awesome!

It's so nice that you can get so close to it now that

the second floor is in.

Not only did this mural come out

great, but it actually serves a real purpose.

But instead of me telling you all about it let me

just show you.

Take a look!

Getting 50 employees in to 25 hundred square feet and adding a

double decker floor plan made an already tight space even

tighter.

So I called up my old friend, artist and sculptor

Piero Manrique, who specializes in a one of a kind murals that

help make small spaces feel big!

After briefing Piero and his partner Meg on my concept they

set to work finding the perfect design for the BrandStar

wall.

Their inspiration?

The gems in the BrandStar logo.

In a sense, it was a complex

project and I came out with a design that was not so simple.

It was a design that implemented many ideas.

When Kalyn called us she was talking about the large

space that she was creating and that it would be a two story

mural.

You do see a lot of the mural that the design is very

geometrical, very sharp edges.

There's a lot of depth to it.

The different colors represent all of the different

personalities and talents and skills that are here at

BrandStar.

The mural is so colorful and vibrant and bright

that I think that it will inspire everybody who comes in

to the room.

For me art is very important to inspire.

It's important to have a connection

between the viewer and the art piece.

I'm always excited just to see the interaction between

the art piece and how it really affects the viewer.

When we return, witness this walls

transformation from white to wow!!

(music).

Welcome back!

What was once a blank canvas is now home to a

stunning and unique master piece by Piero Manrique.

These site-specific

murals encourage creativity and productivity.

Now that there are murals in each of the two

BrandStar buildings - one in the corporate office and now this

one here in the production facility - there is a definitive

campus feel.

The vibrant colors and the active explosions of

geometric designs will surely inspire the creatives who will

be working here for years to come.

Now that I've shown you how we brought the walls to

life, let's check out we transformed the floors.

With the modular structure built and the

second floor installed it's time to put down flooring that can

withstand a lot of wear and tear.

I need something that looks good, helps keep noise to

a minimum, and that won't need much maintenance.

Sounds like a tall order!

But I've found a company that has exactly what

I'm looking for!

I invited over Catherine Del Vecchio from

Gerflor to discuss my client's needs.

Catherine thank you so much for being here

today.

It's so great to meet you.

Can you talk to me a little bit about Gerflor's

manufacturing process and how they've changed overtime?

Well the big change has been the

concern about sustainability.

We are lucky enough that Gerflor is

manufactured in Europe and the standards regarding

sustainability in Europe has always been higher and a head of

the curb from the rest of the world and also we recycle all of

our manufacturing waste and they are put in the backing of our

product.

So it's a continuous improvement, a closed process of

manufacturing and we are very proud of it!

Gerflor is a luxury vinyl tile manufacturer with

nearly sixty designs and colors to choose from.

Their commercial grade flooring is specifically

made for high traffic areas and the 28 millimeter wear layer

means my client won't need to replace the flooring for a long,

long time.

Ok wow so you've brought a lot of products here

today.

So walk me through what you've brought.

Ok so our most popular products for

renovation of office spaces include our Creation Click

System.

This is meant for quick clean renovation when you have

to keep your operation and your office going while workers are

there so you can install it over existing floor.

So this product floats over an existing

floor which is great because it's much more sustainable and

you don't have waste in the land fills, you're not spending all

of your time picking out tile.

The second line that a lot of offices go for is the line

called Saga Two.

And this is actually a tile format of LVT

with a very thick backing so it provides some acoustical

properties and comfort on the foot, as well.

Wow.

And is this also a vinyl?

It's recycled material from our manufacturing

plant, but also there is cork in it and that provides us with

sound elimination properties as well.

So it's really good for acoustics?

Yes.

So our best selling product is our Creation

Collection and it's the line that actually you're going to

have the most choices.

Ok.

And the line, the way that we

selected we really tried to cover all of the natural colors

of wood.

The whole spectrum!

So you're going to have your

natural colors here.

You're going to have your honeys, the

browns and what's trending more and more the darks - The greys!

Yes the greys and the darker browns.

Yep, which is of course where I fall in this color

palette.

So here you have the tile, but let's just focus on

looking at our woods.

Yes so I think I can narrow it down to

this section here.

Talk to me about the lead time here on the

product?

Oh yes it's all installed in the US.

Oh well that makes it easy.

So it could be here in two weeks?

Yes, easy.

It ships with in three days from our facility in Chicago.

Perfect!

Well yes it's beautiful, the texture that you

guys have created on these planks really does help give it

that warmth and the natural look of wood.

And having said that I think this is the one!

The new floor is exactly what this space

needs!

An easy to maintain, durable and natural looking

design that will warm up the room.

You've really made a lot of progress so far on the floor

here.

How's it going?

It's going really well.

It installs easily and quick.

It's a very simple installation.

I like it!

Yea, and not only does it look great.

It sounds great too!

In a production studio sound

absorption is key!

Here at BrandStar studios we are always

in production no matter rain or shine.

And when it rains... it pours!

Without proper insulation outside noise can bring

production to a stand still.

Plus, in this south Florida heat climate control is just as

important in keeping the control room cool and the on camera

talent from melting.

So, in order to keep the production

running smoothly I knew I needed a solution out of sticky

situation.

I have used spray foam before and was very happy

with the results.

I had heard about this company called USI

and hired them to help me out.

So we are a service company inside of the contractor world

and what we specialize in is insulation and what we call

specialty products which are finishing products inside of the

home.

So what we've done here is we've taken the problem of

having too much noise or trying to reduce noise and use the

unique solutions from spray foam to attenuate that noise and

create a different or more comfortable living situation.

The open cell spray foam that we chose to use in this application

really absorbs some of that noise and at the same time

prevents it from making it through a barrier.

You know there are other applications

where maybe you would want noise to reflect and in that situation

you would use a closed cell spray foam.

It's a thicker, more dense foam.

But we chose the open cell application based on

the unique needs of this project.

So when you are talking about energy efficiency

in any structure, be it a residential or commercial

building really what it comes down to is sealing the building

envelope.

And what we mean by that is any where there could

possibly be air loss or air penetration in to a structure

needs to be sealed up as best it could be.

So from a spray foam perspective our portion of that

is the spray foam can get in to the smallest cracks and crevices

that maybe other traditional insulation can't.

You know the design that Kalyn has brought to

this is able to maximize the indoor air quality of this

facility and in a place specifically like south florida

where there is all sorts of allergens floating around or rag

weed or pollen it's important that you minimize that and if

you have a fresh clean air supply coming in that's helped

by insulation that's obviously will be beneficial to everyone

who's in the building.

Last time I met with Mark he

mentioned needing additional sound proofing in the ceiling.

There was already existing insulation, but with this new

spray foam layer no noise would get in!

Now that the spray foam on the ceiling is complete I

think the employees will notice a huge difference in their

overall comfort - Thanks to a much more regulated temperature,

no outside noise and in the air quality itself.

It's a much more enjoyable and productive

environment!

work place is more than just

about showing off your good taste?

It's true!

And while certain

colors and paintings can be the perfect converstation piece, the

right piece of art can directly impact everyone's well being and

productivity.

Studies have found that people with well decorated

work areas are up to 17 percent more productive than those

without!

Choosing the right art can create a positive, optimistic

environment that boosts creativity and reduces stress.

For theme choose bold colors from your office and look for

art that has similar complimentary tones.

Give it prominent lighting and hang it

at eye level to naturally attract your visitors gaze.

Art also helps create culture in the

work place and it can improve the workplace culture itself,

leaving a lasting impression on both the employees who see it

daily and on the clients who visit.

Keep in mind this will be

the first thing potential clients see so make sure it

reflects a message in line with your company's spirit.

Be bold,

and choose art that inspires!

Whether it's a splash of color

or a carefully curated mural.

Remember art doesn't just feed the heart and the mind.

It can also feed your company's bottom

line.

(music).

We've gotten a lot accomplished in a short amount of time, but

there is still a long road ahead before this entire unfinished

production studio is completed.

But there is no point in delaying the inevitable.

I need to talk to my client Mark and

make sure he is up to speed on what else will be happening

while i'm away on maternity leave.

I'm hoping he took my advice and found someone to fill

in for me during my absence.

Hey Kalyn!

Hey Mark how are you?!

It's good to see you.

It's great to see you too.

Everything is good?

Everything is really good.

I was just next door and i'm really excited

about all of the progress and I've talked to Ryan and Russ,

I've given them kind of an update and filled them in on

what's been going on.

Ok.

And I wanted to know, i'm glad I ran

in to you, if you've found a project manager like I've

suggested?

Well, that's a little bit of problem.

Oh ok!

Well you know what let's go talk to

Carmen she might have someone in mind.

Ok good.

Surprise!! (clapping and yelling) In

construction, and in life, they say you should always expect the

unexpected.

But I was not prepared for this.

Everything is in motion and I've handed over

the plans.

I wish I could be there to over the next steps,

but I know the show must go on.

That was a great surprise for Kalyn, huh?

Yea I think she really appreciated it.

She was surprised!

Yea she was, it's awesome.

So listen the reason why I came in to see you in the

first place is that we've got to do something about the studio

and the construction now that Kalyn is going to be on

maternity leave.

What are you thinking?

I think that you know now that most of the design

is done, what we really need is a project manager and I have

someone in mind.

And... um actually she is right here.

Keri, come here!

I want you to meet Mark Alfieri.

Hi nice to meet you.

I think she would be perfect for project managing

our studio renovation.

Ok, congratulations!

You're our new project manager.

Oh wow thank you!

Good luck, that would be awesome.

I'm really excited thank you!

Are you ok with taking on this additional

responsibility?

Yes!

I am very excited just let me know what

you need me to do next.

Yes we will get together.

Well, I guess I'm taking over!

For now.

On the next episode of Office Spaces I am

diving right in!

First things first, I'll be meeting with Russ

and Ryan, the construction duo that's been working hand and

hand with Kalyn.

They are going to get me up to speed on

everything I need to know about managing a major renovation.

I'm Keri Maletto and I'll see you

next time on Office Spaces!

Gala home win kicks off busy April - Duration: 2:07.

The busy schedule has begun.

The month of April is jam-packed with highlights in all competitions and on Saturday the Reds enjoyed a good start to the month

with a 6:0 home win in the Bavarian derby against Augsburg.

It's great to play after such a long time.

It's been nearly half a year.

Obviously it's even more rewarding when the team shows such a dominant performance

and such a good game.

Eight games remain in 30 days and we're concentrating

on what really matters now.

In the next few weeks we want to lay the foundation for what we hope will be a long season.

Sven Ulreich had a fairly quiet afternoon against Augsburg on Saturday

but that should change dramatically on Tuesday evening

when Bayern Munich encounters Hoffenheim.

Unfortunately Carlo Ancelotti will have to do without Thomas Müller as well as Thiago.

Müller suffered a dangerous foul against Hoffenheim and has ankle problems.

He needs a two-day break.

I have also decided to rest Thiago although he doesn't have any specific problems.

Carlo Ancelotti's team wants to maintain the gap at the top of the Bundesliga table while Thomas Wörle's FC Bayern women's team

is determined to close the gap to the top of the league.

Following the 1:0 win against SC Sand on the weekend the Bayern girls are table third,

only trailing Wolfsburg and Potsdam by four points.

Now the team needs to keep pushing because the championship is far from decided yet.
