Hey, que lo que.
My name is Natasha and I'm here to do kind of a wrap up, but since I've been in a reading
slump, more or less, I decided to do a mash up of everything I've been doing besides books
this past July.
So, I'll start with the books.
I read four books which for me is kind of, not much, because I usually read like two
books a week.
I think what got me in the slump is that I read really good books this past month, everything
I read got a 5 out of five stars and I absolutely loved them all.
The first thing I read was Tash hearts Tolstoy, it's about Tash, she's the main character,
she's asexual.
So Tash, loves to film, loves cinematography and all that, so, she does a web series called
Happy Families which is inspired in Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy and the book starts when the
show goes viral and it deals with everything that happens when it goes viral.
So, when that happens, she's also getting to know a fellow YouTuber and it's the developing
of the relationship between them and what happens with her friends and all that.
The next book I read was What I Lost by Alexandra Ballard and it deals with a main character
who's suffering from Anorexia and is entering a recovering/rehabilitation program and the
book is about her time in recover, in rehabilitation.
I loved it, I absolutely loved it beause it's an insight inside the mind of an anorexic
doing that and it gets you to understand what they're going through because there's a lot
of stigma around it and it's just... something worth reading.
The next book I read was The upside of unrequited by Becky Albertalli and it was a reread.
I'd already read it when it came out in March, I think?
And I loved it, I read it in a sitting back then when it came out but I got it as a birthday
gift because in July was my birthday so yeah, I loved it again when I reread it and it's
just something that you read and absolutely love.
The thing about this book is that Molly, the main character, she's fat.
And it shows an insight to what happens when -I already have an insight because I'm fat-
but, to people that are not fat, I think, it shows a insight of what it is like, that
even
though you may not have complexes bout your body, other people kind of have and make you
want to have and they force you to be someone that you are not and everything so, I absolutely
loved it and it's so ... (incoherent mumble), it's so cute and everything.
Yeah, it's perfect for a summer reading, it's actually during summer, so... yeah, it's perfect.
What finally got me into a reading slump was this right here, Illuminae, by Jay Kristoff
and Amy Kaufman.
I had been wanting to read this book for like, a year, maybe?
I tried but Ididn't like the format I had it in but I got it in Hardcover and everything
so, it's beautiful.
It's about Kady and Ezra which are exes, recently exes and they just broke up and then their
world is kind of invaded and it's the story of how they survived and what's going on and
it's told only by documents and chat conversations and yeah... it's the best.
You've probably seen it because if you've seen booktube you've probably seen it because
it's been everywhere.
Other things I did...
I watched my second complete anime.
I've been wanting to watch anime since forever because I have friends who love it -who love
anime and maga and everything so, yeah- I'd watched one but it didn't get me hooked up
on anime
but I watched one more called Shigatsu kimi no uso,
in English I think it's called Your lie in
April it's on Netflix.
And, it's
so heartbreaking, so beautiful.
And the animation is so great and everything is great
And it's just beautiful it made me cry a lot of times
And, I'm the person that when something makes her cry I just, fall in love with it?
Because it's so beautiful.
I absolutely loved it.
Other things I've done, so:
I'm a huge Doctor Who fan.
My favorite show is Doctor Who
So, I've been watching series 10, which was long overdue.
I was kind of scared of season 10
because Peter Capaldi has been my favorite Doctor
well, he's in a tie with Matt Smith, those are my two favorite Doctors.
So I was kind of scared of what would happen and everything and, I don't want him to go.
But since the news came out that Jodie Whittaker was going to be the thirteenth Doctor which
I'm so excited for but also a little scared.
I've been watching it and absolutely loving it; I love Bill and I love her relationship
with the Doctor and I love everything that the Doctor has done so yeah, it's been great
but I haven't finished it cause I'm a bit scared so yeah, I don't want him to go.
I also have been watching Merlin which is also a BBC TV show, it ended, quite a few
years ago?
But I hadn't watched it so, I've been doing that.
I'm just two episodes from the end and I'm a bit scared for it because, I know what happens.
It's been a long time since it ended and there's a lot of spoilers on the Internet so I know
what happens and, yeah...Not excited for it.
And yeah, that's it, thanks for watching, I'll see you in my next video.
