An
$1,800
Package got sent to the wrong place
That is what he was trying to tell me.
Hey guys! Sorry about the lighting change and the location change. I just wanted to quickly say...
Hi how's it going? My name is Michael Saliba. And this is my first ever youtube video that I have ever made
Filmed, edited everything so, please cut me some slack. I apologize for all the cuts and everything
I was trying to shorten the video as much as I possibly could
Because no one likes it when someone just talks talks talks all the time
So I cut it down for like 28 minutes to like 12**. So there are a lot of jumps in there
I tried to make it as natural as possible
if you were blindfolded and you were watching it, you wouldn't even notice but
Unfortunately, I talk with my hands a lot. So
It's way more obvious when I do the cuts because my hands are just moving around all the time
I'm sorry, but I hope you can still enjoy the video! Thank you so much for watching and enjoy
long story short
I ordered the iPhone XS max on the Apple website
umm maybe
two, three weeks ago and
I got a notification
Yesterday morning. At like 8:45 a.m
Saying "Hey Michael, your order will arrive sometime today" but I had work
so I had to leave the house and no one else was at home
So when they eventually did bring it to me, I wasn't there
So I got a notification saying "Hey Michael, we tried delivering items in your order except
It could not be collected. We'll try again a little later" then
Maybe like two three hours later. I got another notification. Saying the exact same thing.
Immediately followed by a notification saying "Hey Michael, good news. You've received your order. We hope you enjoy"
*tonguepop* so I was at work and
I read that and I thought to myself
Maybe someone from my family collected the phone, you never know. So, after I finished work
I called my mom and I said "Hey, did you get my phone?"
She was like, "No I didn't" and then I called my sister. I was like "hey
Do you have my phone?" She's like no, I don't have your phone
So I said, can you please go check the mailbox to see if they left a letter in the mail saying
"Hey come to the post office to come and collect your package"
There was nothing in the mail, at all.
But the Apple store said that I have received my product so I frantically search my emails for the tracking number
and then I go online to see the tracking data and I will put a screenshot of
What I saw up here
So as you can see, there's a lot of stuff going on. Started off in Sydney, went to Melbourne
Anyways, it says I'll zoom in actually, it says
"Your
delivery address has been changed." Now I read that and I was like what?
Why would my address change? How did it change? I never changed it! Who collected it.?! So, I
was still at work by the way
Like I was just finished work, was just walking towards my car when this was all going on and I was like nah
So I finally got off hold
So he said it's on Sweetwater Road, which is a seven minute drive away, and he was like, "But they close in 10 minutes"
*mouthpop* *tonguepop*
10 minutes closing and it's a seven minute drive!
I Pumped the gas, drove all the way down
I was on a red light and I was just crying on the red light because I was like, I'm not gonna make it
*exhale* I get there! As soon as I say, "Hey, how's it going? I have a package." He goes. "Yeah
well, that's not what I need to hear. What I need to hear, is your surname and who you ordered it with." and I was like, "Ummm
My surname is Saliba and I ordered it with TNT," he's like, "Right."
Then he goes in the back and he looks
like just behind the counter
And he sees 'TNT' and he's going through all the packages that he has and then he sees 'Saliba' and he says "Cool, Saliba"
He puts it on the bench and he's like "I need to see your ID just to make sure
that the address I live on is the address of the package and that we're the same person
So I give him my ID and he reads it. He's like, "Ummm,
I don't have an order for Michael Saliba, sorry." And I was like "What? What's that package?" and then he's like "This isn't for Michael,
this is for..." I'm gonna make up a name. Um
Mary. "This is for Mary Saliba." But then I scroll down, *laughs* scroll. Oh my god, that's how you know I'm addicted to technology...
I look down and I see the address
It's not my address. It's um, like some random address
It's on iPhone Drive
so I'm like "iPhone drive?
I don't live on iPhone Drive! This isn't my order." So he just grabs it away
Alright, well, then I can't help you. He put the package away gives me my license back and he says "Go, you need to leave now."
I can't help you and I was like, "what do you mean? Where's my order?
I was on the phone with TNT and they told me that it was here" and then he was like "Nah,
It's not here. Maybe the courrier sent the wrong order"
an
eighteen hundred dollar
package
Got sent to the wrong place
That is what he was trying to tell me. I don't know about you
*tonguepop*
But if you pay $1,800 for a phone, and have been on hold for 15 minutes, That doesn't make you smile.
He was like, "Call TNT, Call TNT." So, I call them again. I'm on hold with them
But in my mind, I remember iPhone Drive, and I remember just quickly
I only glanced at it for like two seconds and I straight away just said "nah this isn't mine" and put it away
But I was like "I need to go to this address". But I was like "No, I can't do that, that's illegal"
"I shouldn't of seen that" "I feel bad for..."
What was the persons name? Mary? Okay," I feel bad for Mary Saliba"
because I just saw her address like I shouldn't have seen it.
So, I did what anyone would do *tonguepop*
I put iPhone Drive into my navigations and went to iPhone Drive and I was like cool iPhone Drive
I'm gonna get my phone. It's gonna be all good
And then on the way there I was on the phone with my mother and my father as well
They were on speaker and she was telling me like "You shouldn't be doing this,
this is a scary thing to knock on someone's house and say 'Hi give me my iPhone back' because they might not do it
They might lie to you. I am on my way to a iPhone Drive, but I don't remember the actual address
I just remember quickly glancing at it and I remember seeing the number
Three and the number four, but I don't remember the actual address
so I put '3 iPhone Drive' into my
Navigations and I went to '3 iPhone Drive' and I knocked and I was like "Hi
are you Mary?" because it was an old lady and she was like "No, I'm not Mary"
I was okay like "Do you know someone named Mary Saliba that lives in this neighborhood?"
She was like "No I don't", So I was like "great." So I went to '4 iPhone Drive' and I was like "Hi
do you know someone named Mary Saliba that lives in this neighborhood?"
"No I don't." So I was like great. Okay, like there goes that idea
So I think to myself all right, if you need to find somebody and all you know is their name
How do you find them in 2018?
Facebook! I go on Facebook and I write down Mary Saliba
and I find this old ladies facebook profile, I click on it and
She's there and guess what?
I had one mutual friend with Mary Saliba.
Someone that goes to my high school. I
Was like what? This is crazy this can't be real so I go and I click message request
So I said "Hey Mary, my name's Michael Saliba. Um, I think we have a mix-up with our packages. Please contact me ASAP"
So I do that and now I'm waiting for a response
From this old lady for a message request and I was like, I can't do this like I'm never gonna get a response.
I messaged the mutual friend and I said "Hi
'Vanessa'
Awkward question
Can you please contact Mary Saliba and tell her that
she needs to contact me back because we have a mix-up with our package!"
She replies literally one second later and we have a conversation getting it all sorted out.
So I thought to search her up on Facebook,
found her, messaged her.
She thought to look at me, look for me through the phone books
I just think that's really funny and cute and I just wanted to add that in because like it's just funny how the
Generations both act like we both thought let's look for the other person
But I knew to go to Facebook and she knew to go to the phone books
She didn't find me but I found her so it proves that you know
*tonguepop* Facebook is powerful. It can really do wonders
Basically, she just said that I'm more than welcome to go to Mary's house to collect
My phone whenever. Literally before I could even knock on the door she was already walking outside and
she gave me m- my phone
My beautiful iPhone XS max she gave me my device and
Yeah, we had a good conversation for about 10 minutes and then I went home and Here I am filming this video right now
I thought you know
That the courrier that was in charge of delivering me my device had made a mistake
And it turns out she didn't get it delivered. She got a phone call saying
"Hi Mary, come to the newspaper agency and we'll give you your parcel." She ordered a bunch of different mugs
I don't know why I have this ready to go, but she ordered a bunch of mugs and
Didn't get them and they told her to come to Sweetwater Drive newspaper agency
So she did and then the girl
so the guy that served me was a guy, he was a rude old man with gray hair and
He checks my ID and he said go away. You're not the right person. This isn't your address
you can't have the parcel but the girl who served Mary she was a
Short large woman who was very rude and it's just funny because both employees at the
Newspaper Agency on Sweetwater Drive are both rude, were both rude to us
Except the only thing is the girl who served her
Said "Saliba? Yep, here you go. No worries"
Didn't even read the ID. She checked it, but she didn't even read it to make sure that it was correct
She just thought to herself "Oh Saliba, how often do you get an order for Saliba?
Like how many Saliba's are there really around town?
So she just gave her the phone and then Mary went home
Open up her mug set to find out that it's not a mug set and that it's an iPhone
*exhale* And I went to the post office to not even receive my product so I
Was gonna blame TNT and say that their couriers made a huge mistake and all that, but it wasn't the couriers fault.
It wasn't TNT's fault. It was the newspaper agencies fault.
The Fact that she was rude and the fact that she didn't even read the ID
It's unforgivable.
Thankfully, I got my product. But I'm sure this isn't the first time it's happened I want to know
What you guys have experienced, like have you ever had something
Similar or the same as this happened to you? Have you ever had your parcel given out to the wrong person?
Did you get it stolen? Like what did the newspaper agency do with it? Like did they try and throw the blame?
Did they pay you back for it? Like I want to know.
What would a manager do
to the employee
that makes that mistake?
How would they?
Deal with the problem. I want to know if you are a manager of a newspaper agency
Tell me what would you do? I think it's pretty rare for that to be the case
What I think is more likely is that someone that has dealt with this would be able to tell me but yeah
thank you for watching and
Enjoy the rest of your day! Or night
See ya
Thanks for watching xx
