Warhammer Fantasy Lore: The Steam Tank. An engineering marvel from The Empire - Total War Warhammer - Duration: 5:02.

Steam Tanks are monstrous, smoke-belching war machines that rumble towards the enemy

and fire deadly cannonballs from their steam-powered guns to crush all those that stand against

the Empire of Man.

The Steam Tank is powered by a large pressurized boiler that siphons super-heated steam through

a series of pipes and pistons.

With an intricate system of levers, the engineer commander directs this steam towards the area

where he needs power.

For instance, he can direct the steam towards the pistons that drive the wheel mechanisms

and send the tank forwards, hissing and whistling.

Alternatively, he can feed the steam towards the tank's steam powered weapons system.

There is a limited amount of steam the engineer can work with so he must maintain a fine balance

on the machine's levels.

Should too much pressure build, then the boiler may rupture with catastrophic effects.

The steam-powered versions of the weapons have proven themselves to be highly unstable

and unpredictable, but terribly effective when working as intended.

Managing the right steam levels on these machines is a delicate, if somewhat unpredictable art.

The infamous Steam Tank was invented by the inspired Leonardo de Miragliano.

He was a brilliantly talented man whose mind was never at rest.

It is said that he was never without his sketchbook and he was always scribbling his mad ideas

and inventions within its leather-bound pages.

The Steam Tank was his highest achievement.

Leonardo adapted the use of Dwarfen steam technology to power the pistons and gears

that drive the wheels of the steam tank forward.

He was a remarkable pioneer in the area of technological advancement and it was he who

founded the Imperial Engineering School in Altdorf and was its first Chief Engineer.

Although it has been attempted countless times, no engineer has thus far succeeded in recreating The Steam Tank from scratch

Leonardo mysteriously disappeared, his designs

lost with him.

After the inventor's death, the secrets of the Steam Tanks were lost with him and engineers

have so far been unable to successfully construct any new ones.

Only twelve tanks were built by Leonardo, all with varying configurations.

The advance of these nearly unstoppable behemoths is terrifying to behold, as arrows ricochet

harmlessly from its armoured hulls and enemy warriors are crushed beneath their heavy bulk.

To name one example, there is Sigmar's Hammer, a steam tank that that has had its prow reinforced

for ramming.

This was at first a necessary innovation.

The steam tank was involved in an ongoing conflict to the north of The Empire, where

the ammunition was short and so, the main focus of the tank had to be refocused towards

ramming the enemy instead of firing at it.

The design proved to be highly effective, powering across the ice covered tundra and

scattering raiding marauders.

This simple design worked so well, that the engineers responsible for making the changes

to the tank, did not fix it upon their return from the North.

Out of the original twelve steam tanks, only eight remain, the lost four having been destroyed

during testing or in battle.

CPAMATICA inside out. CEO tells how an affiliate network works - Duration: 34:03.

Zhenia, do you have any other offices besides the one in Kiev

No, we have only one office, and that one is in Kiev, and that's where are whole team is.

Here and a little bit farther down the street.

Are you from Kiev?

Yes, I was born and raised in Kiev

And what do you like most about Kiev?

It is a beautiful city

nice people

tasty food

strong team, which I could build a strong business with.

Did you want to live somewhere else, except Kiev? Will you be able?

Maybe somewhere in Europe.

I've been to Asia, been to U.S, can't say it was comfortable.

I would probably just travel.

Well then let's go check out your office.

Let's go.

You travel a lot.

How long are you absent, absent from the office?

I stay mostly in Kiev. Maybe a couple weeks every year

So most of the time you are in the office?

Yes, most of the time in the office.

And how many hours do you work, devote to the office?

How often I can meet you while working?

In the office? Almost all of the time.

but..

It's understandable that I work almost all the time.

I don't divide work and personal life.

What motivates you, what drives you at work?

Probably, like for most, it's results.

When you understand that

your efforts bring results, some profit

that's, probably, the best motivation.

Zhenia, there is a tradition going around,

many affiliate marketing companies

like to hide their real location.

Some companies from Ukraine or Russia are writing that they are

from UK, Scotland, Amsterdam.

But you in CPAMATICA like

like I understand don't hide your real location.

No, we don't hide our location. We are in Kiev

we often invite partners to our offices.

We invite both advertisers and webmasters,

there's no hidden truth.

So, for instance, affiliates you work with can arrange a meeting, and meet you in person.

Yes, of course. We invite people to come to us,

to chat, drink coffee, tea, play tennis,

and chat about work and life.

Then please tell the story of CPAMATICA?

Were you there at the beginning?

Yes

We started in year 2015, in January.

So, it will be out four years anniversary this year.

We started from arbitrage,

drove from different sources to dating, to dating offers,

and then

after some time we decided

that we proved ourself,

why shouldn't we try to create our own affiliate network.

And after it we started to do affiliate network.

Then there were lots of changes of business.

Now it looks different, as it was one or three years ago

but basis, name,

part of the team are still from the 2015-2016 years.

When did you drive traffic by your own last time?

Pretty long ago, a couple year ago, probably.

And are you able to launch a campaign now?

I think after some preparation I will try. I think, yes.

Good. I read, that

you were nominated as the best CPA network

in the International Performance Marketing Award.

I wanted to ask,

how did that happen?

We communicate with lots of rating agencies,

tell them about our network, about us,

and participate in nominations.

And if you win will you go to London to get the award?

Yes, why not?

What I have read in description of your network

"It is not just a "network

it's a thing that makes you look more professional.

t's all about creating experiences

that transform affiliates, brands, grow businesses

and make people's lives better."

How do you change people's lives for better,

what do you think?

For partners we try, probably it sounds banal,

to make them happier, to help them make more money,

to make them feel more satisfied.

The same we are trying to do for the whole our team, because

a team is a group people you spend the biggest part of your life,

40-50 hours weekly, and

you should be satisfied as high as possible with

what you are doing and with people around you.

And from a finance point of view will this year be the best for a СPAMATICA?

Yes, each year we grow 2 or 3 times,

and in the year 2018 we should be able to grow approximately two and a half times

What is your personal motivation as a CEO of the company?

Motivation, my motivation like I already said is…

I mean, what's your finance motivation,

I mean is it based on some figures, achievements, goals in Network?

I don't ask about amount.

I'm interested in your financial motivation.

Certainly, the percentage of what the company earns.

So, you have just a fixed interest from the company earnings?

Yes.

Tell me,

I always wanted to know,

what is main object of expenditure

of a network?

Is this your team's salary?

Network is percent based,

so the main part of money goes to affiliates.

I mean company's profit.

We invest lots of money to the team,

workers, money reward and in something

non-material.

We often travel,

for example, a few months ago we returned from Carpathians,

in the year 2016, we travelled to Andorra.

Company paid for everything,

this was additional motivation for guys to accomplish a goal.

So, we link some events to

achievement of financial performance.

And I hope that based on the results of year 2019

the whole team will have 1 week or 10 days duration trip.

Awesome.

What are the most profitable offers?

Globally speaking, what brings you most of money?

In affiliate business marginality is almost the same,

we primarily work with dating, so dating offers.

As far as I know, the typical margin is about 20 %

Up to 20%

You said,

that business has changed.

The network is different

from how it was originally created.

You became a part of Genesis holding.

Primary business was established as part of holding company Genesis, and,

now it's a part of holding company Genesis.

So you raised investment there, company invested in you

or you worked there?

Originally, I worked on the other project,

then I started doing traffic arbitrage, and

nside of the project, inside of the holding, inside of Genesis

we created СPAMATICA.

How many people work for СPAMATICA now?

Forty people

Do you personally approve

employees before hiring?

I attend almost every interview

What kind of people you will never hire to СPAMATICA?

We take hiring very seriously.

It's always easier

to not hire somebody at the beginning, then dismiss him later.

Nobody likes dismissals.

Not those who dismiss, not those who are dismissed.

So, we are doing our best

to be attentive and rough as possible with hiring process.

Whom we won't hire?

Actuality, there are lots of criteria we check.

A person who didn't approve oneself at a previous working places,

we hire lots of people without experience,

those who want to try themself in the internet marketing

or in development.

In this case we will check achievements in a university.

Was he engaged in something or just attended lectures.

If we speak about professionals,

so if he didn't stand out at a previous working place,

didn't do anything interesting and unusual,

so what is the chance that he will do something at our place?

Relatively low.

Well, and many other factors.

Did it ever happen that an employee quit the job

while still carrying a valuable piece of info?

No, nothing crucial ever happened.

Not long ago there was a conference in Kiev,

and from what I know you were there.

you like to visit conferences in general

So, what is the point

for you to go to such kind of conferences?

Many attend all kinds of conferences, some attend to gain new knowledge.

But I see conferences mostly as networking.

What I mean, you can meet some interesting guys

which you would happily work with, maybe some advertisers

or webmasters.

The second thing is that going to this kind of conferences could help you motivate

some employees t hat work in this area of expertise.

Often conference is the great motivation, from you work point of view,

for instance, you see the same human being with two legs and arms doing ten times more than you.

You understand that you are so far away from your ceiling, and

often it motivates you to do incredible things.

I was motivated by one of the first conferences I attended

to be engaged in arbitrage,

to start driving traffic and do it more qualitative work I usually tried.

Do you estimate somehow effectivity of conference attendance?

We tried, in years 2015-2016.

Now it's very difficult, because

if you spend lots of money, travel a lot

and it can be a very delayed effect.

Results can be in half of a year, a year or in one year and half.

Some ideas you absorbed, can transform in something

and outcome can bring money,

but direct influence is very difficult to measure.

Did you see any rise in registration after conference? Do you check these parameters?

Very often we meet partners that were registered long ago but by some reason don't work.

Also, we do our best to gain a lot for our buying team, they are engaged in traffic

and that's why it's very difficult to estimate direct influence of conferences.

Usually, how many people you do you send to a conference?

Depends on a conference, last time we went to Las-Vegas,

we had 4 people,

but In Kiev we had 6-7, maybe more.

But 2 to 5 is the average number.

And what is the price to place booth on international conferences?

Again, it changes from the location. But probably in average

we spend 6-12$ thousand dollars

Is that only for placement?

No, it's for the booth placement and all the printed materials

But there's travel and hotel price,

so 15-12 thousand, is that how many dollars it takes?

About that, but again

it changes from the number of people we have.

And how many conferences do you travel to yearly?

If we speak about abroad ones, then about five six a year.

As I understand, the main goal of any conference it is to attract new affiliates.

Do you estimate how much does it cost you

to attract active affiliate, that will start drive traffic

through all marketing channels?

We have analytics we tried to use for estimating.

Yes, there is such thing. We try to analyse.

There is CRM with help of which we check statistics.

There are some attraction channels, which we can track

with help of some tags, sources,

we try to count engaging,

for example, if this is placement in some blog,

or some paid rating,

where we pay for it.

If this is free, how much efforts we need to put out?

Essentially, we consider such numbers.

And what is the most effective way to bring in affiliates, that you know of?

Most effective, simply personal chatting.

You mean conferences?

Conferences or meeting the person

face to face.

When someone comes into the office it's usually a partner.

It's much easier to start working with someone when you know them,

then when somebody has high rating,

but you don't know them personally.

But if you personally know a person,

met him,

ate with him, had fun,

it becomes so much easier to work with such person.

Which percent of registered affiliates

eventually converts to those who

really drives you traffic?

Probably 10-15 percents.

If count later, it's difficult to say numbers.

And do you have an inside team on monetisation of traffic.

Yes, we also work with traffic personally.

Do you feel the temptation

to analyse your affiliates' top feeds?

We work by our own rules,

our methods,

and the way we do stuff don't get too close to affiliates.

So, does this statement apply to you,

that 20% of affiliates

make 80% of all your profits.

Yes, if not more.

So most of the profits comes from top affiliates.

Yeah, and that's how many companies make money.

They have one thing that makes most of the profits,

others are additional amount.

But that doesn't change anything for as,

any person even if they generate a very small income is important for us,

in the end they can grow,

and we had stuff like that happen.

Probably, because he wasn't open enough,

he works with some other guys,

and he works with them in bigger volumes,

he hasn't moved these volumes to us yet.

That is way, we do our best to pay attention to all partners,

and not only to those who make 80 % of profit.

We talked about affiliates,

but I would like to talk about the other side of this chain. Advertisers.

I was always interested in

how one can get to an affiliate network with an offer.

What I mean, I'm an advertiser,

I write that a have an offer then what happens?

We have a team of business development

that process applications, and most of the time

they search different things

as how to prepare for conference, where again will travel guys

as from affiliate team, as from business development team.

They research as well in LinkedIn,

lots of researches are done in the niche we work with

and in new niches that we might be potentially interested in.

When incoming applications arrive,

and this happens almost every day,

we communicate,

and if this corresponds to the niches in which we work,

we understand that we can potentially generate traffic,

do not waste someone else's or our time.

If we with the guys understand that this is not our niche,

we just write that, unfortunately, we are not able to work with them.

If guys are from the niches that are interesting to us,

with which we work with now,

then we communicate, discuss terms, start budgets and launch.

As a rule, we work without prepayment.

But you do check the offers?

You do look at the flow?

Yes, of course,

we have an internal team which deals with traffic driving.

This way we can understand right away

if this is promising,

if this corresponds the realities of the market.

Often there are cases, for example,

when we have been working with dating or nutra for a long time.

Sometimes under dating we see non-optimal landing pages

and we can offer following:

"We have experience, there are such and such options.

According to our experience this will work better,

give a better EPC than those you have".

These are our recommendations. Some listen, some not.

Did you try to be an advertiser,

I mean create inhouse offers

We have our own inhouse products

which we offer to partners

By partners you mean affiliates?

Yes.

What is special in working with your own offers?

Unique offer always worked good on the market,

if you can offer something your competitors don't have.

Nowadays competition in CPA networks and affiliate networks

is mainly in technical backgrounds

but not in pay-offs,

when you can give

faster redirect or more stable servers.

These are some kinds of decisions that can potentially increase partners' EPC,

and this is what is important.

In total, product that is the thing you can try

to do better, based on your experience, based on partners' actions,

and we can attract partners this way

not because of 5 % payments increase

but because of more interesting offers.

And for you from a company point of view, this is more profitable?

Yes, and that's because we don't work

only in the first cycle we work in both,

the first cycle being network, and the second one being advertiser.

And are you planning to make more products, to move in this direction?

Yes.

And more about advertisers,

did it ever happen

that an advertiser didn't pay you?

Yes, that happened.

And what did you do when that happened?

Count out the risks,

the percent of profit, and if we understand that

there is no way we will get that money,

we just plan according to this information.

In some cases, payments can be obtained by negotiating,

by communication,

we try to understand why it happened,

But some cases are hopeless.

There are cases when an advertiser didn't not plan his opportunities

and offered payments initially above the market,

and then realised that this traffic would never pay off and backed up.

And in that moment, how does an affiliate feel?

In this case we take the lead,

as what can partner do in this case?

This is our risk as partner network, as a business.

Do you include these risks in a margin of each offer, correct?

Yes, this is not significant risks.

It can make to a percent per year, even less.

Well then, there are a lot of interesting about the offers.

I know that you specialised in dating offers,

and that's very interesting

how they really work,

what I mean if user can really get a service he or she wants?

Dating, I have to say that's big part of the market,

it doesn't consist only of products,

such as adult,

where there is no background,

where there is no, for example, real girls.

Dating is also a completely clear products,

when people really get what they really wanted to get.

What is the ratio?

Ratio of offers quantity or of market?

Your numbers of offers.

Hard to say, but I think I can say

that most customers got what they want from the offers.

But you can chat and meet women using this website.

This more about mainstream dating where

it is expected that there are girls who want to meet and there are men who want to meet.

Unlike for example Casual, where, where, let's say, the percentage of girls is not very high.

So, there's bots, or nothing at all?

We are not planning and not going to produce products related to adult dating,

it's not interesting for us,

the main purpose there is credit cards submits.

A user submits his card, and then it is not so important what will happen with a user itself,

an advertiser can further rebill him,

and so everything is about how long he will be able to use chargebacks.

On one of your network reviews,

I read the following:

You do not come very often

across networks which have direct blackhat offers

but CPAmatica do have such offers

and also allow spam traffic for those offers"

This is open review in the Internet. Is that still the case?

Or this review was written a couple of years ago and now this is not relevant information.

That was an experiment, we had advertisers that wanted to get this kind of traffic,

we don't work with them any more,

so I must say that's not a working fact anymore.

What offers according to your philosophy will never appear in your Network,

in your niches?

First off all,

we check earning opportunities for us, and partners,

it builds relationships.

Those that will not appear,

probably, contradict my personal convictions.

We will never work with the product in which

users have to give their last money for some opportunity,

for example, to heal from some diseases.

This is like a taboo for me,

I will never work with such advertisers,

with such scams.

Zhenia, then how do you build a company were people want to work?

You start company like anything else from yourself.

You must enjoy what you are doing,

and other will enjoy it too.

Listen to other people's wishes and count out your steps.

Very good, but from what I understand this is your main co-worker.

Yes, Petr

Petr, yes. Does he work here from the company establishment?

No, he's been here about 2 years, but he's grown a little bit

What is his job title?

Mascot

Mascot

let's play?

Ok. Why not?

Wow! yeah! I need to get the hang,

I haven't played for a long time. Let's do it.

Whom do you consider

the main competitor of CPAMATICA?

If we speak about affiliate networks, those who work with dating.

There are lots of networks working in our segment. I can't distinguish somebody,

it's necessary to try to be different in payments and technical solutions.

What is the main difference between CPAMATICA and competitors from your point of view?

Probably talking about payments is not that interesting.

But we do try to do anything

to raise the EPC of partners,

from simple things

to our offers,

our decisions which will

make more money to us and partners.

From what you see, what do you think is the number one affiliate network in the world?

There are some affiliate networks which work in atypical for us spheres.

That's why number one depends on niche.

But similar to you by profile?

Personally, I like Advidi.

I think, lot's of people working with traffic wonder,

which sources give the biggest volume?

Adwords,

Facebook

and now push-notification work super actively.

Is push-notification starting to gain some popularity?

Well, in these recent times, yes, it's quite actual.

I've seen lots of time that you emphasised as an advantage having of your own tracking system.

Did develop it from scratch or use something as a basis?

We did everything from scratch.

We started from Husoffers.

At some point we understood that we would pay

about 6000 dollars monthly.

Then it was quite a lot of money for the tracking system

and we decided to do it ourselves.

In fact, when you create your tracking system you think to yourself that you

would do it in half a year, then in 9 months,

and then it's simply "wow, everything is ready."

In fact, we are still doing some features,

and this is good because

for the top partners, for those who generate good volumes,

we put the finishing touch on some additional things they ask about.

It's usually more difficult to do this with inbox system.

If we speak about our own tracking,

we can totally relay on how redirects work,

how servers work.

And some additional things that we need

from finance point of view, income accounting,

and from the partner point of view, for example,

some additional features, some additional possibilities for redirecting,

this we can do.

And we can, as I've already said, do some additional things,

if we see that we have been working with a person for quite a long time

and he generates large volumes,

then we can develop some additional things.

So, you mean if affiliate gives big volumes,

you can customise you tracking system,

let's say, additionally deploy a server in some region.

Yes, it's not an issue.

This can be a server, or some features that affiliate needs additionally.

Obviously, this may take some additional time,

it depends on the complexity of a task,

but if it gives money boost, additional income, then why not.

You play tennis better than me. Apparently, you practice it often here?

Guys often hold competitions,

as among the team and with other companies.

I play sometime.

What other sports do you do?

Snowboarding,

sometimes cycling

What else do you do in your spare time?

I like traveling.

I try on weekend, if I have 2 days

or to take one more day off,

and have a ride somewhere.

What is favorite country?

Beside of Ukraine, of course.

I've been to States many times. 5 times, probably.

But it was more because of job, conferences,

meeting with partners.

I've been lots of times to France, Italy.

Recently I traveled to Switzerland. Liked it so much.

Was it a business trip or your personal trip?

Personal.

With girlfriend and friends.

Do you plan any event today?

Today is event and birthday of one of our team member.

We always congratulate, buy present.

Company buys.

And unspoken tradition a person brings something in the morning,

let's say cake or pies.

Something we can eat together with the team on a lunch.

And what this event is timed to?

Today we accomplished plan,

we have annual and quarterly plans.

Now we accomplished third quarter,

including September,

and today we are going to sum up the quarterly results.

And always after it we have some party.

Just having a party is not very funny,

it can be boring for 3 years,

so we often do some thematic ones. Today we are having party inspired by 80s.

I mean with suits, with all attributions

and I hope that it will be fun.

You said that you set annual plans for the team. But what will be next, do you think about perspective?

How do you see company in 5 years, for example?

We tried but their relevance often changes. For, example,

I think many companies even didn't think that they would work with cloaking and facebook

would be much more difficult.

Probably, they also made plan for the next 5 years

but eventually they can differ so much.

Even in 2-3 years, not speaking about 5 years.

But we made some plans, definitely.

What trends do you see for the next year?

Offers? Traffic sources?

What do think will work?

I think, the biggest traffic sources will remain the same, they have huge audience.

And anyway, either way traffic will remain the same,

probably offers will just change, attitude will be more clear, honest,

will be more compliance with sources policies.

It's obvious that Google and Facebook will always remain.

SEO will be there, and e-mail will remain e-mail,

other sources will also stay, just working methods will change.

Somewhere marge will decrease, somewhere will increase.

We have evergreen niches, everybody knows about them,

there are dating,

body modifications like weight loss, and a human always want to make money for free.

For instance, cryptocurrency, everybody still talks about it, but less than before.

Did you have any cryptocurrency offers?

We did it, but I can't say we earned lots of money.

So, do you see dynamics of attitude changes to make approaches clearer?

I think that everyone will work clearer and more honest.

Now we see that e-commerce works fine,

this relatively clear thing when compared to what worked well inthe early to mid of year 17.

Numbers,

numbers.

I'd like to have some numbers.

For example, what is the biggest revenue brought by single affiliate within a day?

I already told, that top partners can differ very much from average one.

The biggest achievement we had $18,000 in one day.

18,000 dollars. One partner.

One partner one day

And he did not disappear after it? Did he drive traffic stably?

He did, but obviously that was a peak.

Great. Let's give our viewers some bonus from CPAMATICA.

So, you will have new affiliates and they will set your new records.

I am for it. You see.

I offer this, those who will watch this interview, will write

to a manager, or register with us in the affiliate program.

The first payment

or if you are already registered the next one

the next one will be 10% off.

What should be done?

I think, it's just enough to say that

you watched video interview on channel Zorbas media

and this will be enough for a manager.

Great. So, register, or if you are already did it, start driving. Subscribe to the channel.

AZLA Horizon & AZLA-01R MKII Overview: Planar Bass In An IEM - Duration: 2:01.

Meet the Horizon, and the AZLA-01R MKII - new IEMs from the South Korean company AZLA.

Minidisc is a headphone store in Australia, and we're proud to be the first to bring these

innovative new IEMs to Australian shores.

If you want planar magnetic levels of bass control in an IEM, you'll want to listen

to these.

The centrepiece of both of these IEMs is AZLA's Advanced Research Driver - a novel design

where the driver is enclosed inside a large magnetic assembly, so that even magnetic force

is distributed over the entire diaphragm.

Horizon uses an 8mm Advanced Research Driver, whereas the 01R MKII uses a hybrid design

that places a full range balanced armature in the centre of 11mm diaphragm.

The result with both models is stellar sub-bass control and extension.

If you are a fan of the controlled slam of planar magentic headphones, you will appreciate

the sound of these earphones.

In our testing, we found that the Horizon is the smoother earphone of the two, with

a natural, even tuning that works well for all genres, but high frequencies are a bit

subdued.

The Horizon uses detachable MMCX cables, and AZLA's exclusive SednaFit ear tips.

The 01R MKII has a more exciting sound, with stronger sub-bass slam and and an extra peak

in the high frequencies thanks to the BA driver.

Its treble isn't quite as smooth, and it brings a bit of a rough texture to vocals,

but the extra highs add detail and excitement.

Please note that the AZLA-01R MKII is quite a large earphone, so fit can be a concern

with smaller ears.

The AZLA-01R MKII uses 2-pin detachable cables, and improves on the Horizon's accessory

kit with a carry case designed in collaboration with the premium accessory manufacturer DIGNIS.

We think both of these IEMs sound great, and we've been working to bring them to Australia,

so that you can hear what the buzz is about.

For more information, check out our full written review, which is linked in the description

of this video.

SCHUBERT Ave Maria - Alois MUHLBACHER, countertenor (Hymne an die Jungfrau, lyrics) - Duration: 3:33.

Ave Maria! Meek maiden.

Heed the supplications of a maiden.

From this bare, savage rocks

my prayers will drift towards you.

We sleep safely until morning

though men are yet so barbaric.

Oh Maiden, see the strife of a maiden!

Oh mother, hear a pleading child!

Ave Maria!

Ave Maria! Pristine servant!

The demons of the air and earth

are haunted by the glory in your eyes.

They cannot live here with us.

Yet, we still seek to turn fate

and turn your holy solace against you.

The Maiden will intercede in favor

of the child that implores to his Father.

Ave Maria!

An Autumn Dog Walk in the Woods, introducing our next adventure! [CC] - Duration: 10:06.

[music]

[music fades]

Hello! Well, I figured it was time to update you all on what we're doing and

what we've been up to and where we're going.

Now, the plan was to do this from the caravan. However, it is such a beautiful day

I thought why don't I take you with me on this lovely walk with Dougal around the

woods. We're currently staying at Black Horse Farm Caravan and Motorhome Club

site in Folkestone in Kent, and about 15 minutes walk from the site are these

beautiful words, and there's a 45 to 60 minutes circular walk around them. So if

you're ever staying at Black Horse Farm Caravan and Motorhome Club site in

Folkestone, this is a great place to come and walk

the dog and throw the ball. (Go on, Dougal!) So what have we been up to? Well, we last

left you when we were coming back from the Huttopia site in Saumur in France.

So from there we headed on up and I have dropped off my Airstream for a few

repairs and a little bit of titivation; the lino has needed replacing for quite

a while after I managed to tread sand into it and basically spoil it on the

Island of North Uist in the Outer Hebrides. I did that quite a few years ago when I

came in dripping in my wet suit from kite surfing and I managed to get sand

ingrained into the lino and I've been wanting to get that done for a long time.

Lots of other little jobs need doing; all age-related kind of things like I dented

the bumper I did that at Knìp campsite in the Isle of Lewis - my poor Airstream

seems to get quite a bit of bashing in the Outer Hebrides! I'm gonna have my

cooker probably replaced because it is absolutely falling apart, and with the

amount of miles I do and the use that Airstream gets kind of no surprise that

it just needs a bit of love. So that's gone away to receive a little bit of

love and in the meantime I have been loaned a beautiful Airstream Missouri.

I'm so excited about that, this is exactly the same Missouri that I enjoyed this

time last year when I was staying at Love to Stay in Shropshire

and I did a full tour of this very Caravan, so I shall link to that tour in

the description below if you want to have a good old nosey at the Airstream

Missouri that we are currently staying in for the next two months. So after we

picked up the Missouri I took it to a weigh bridge and I was delighted to find

out that it was spot on to the declared MIRO - Mass in Running Order - so I can make the

most of the full payload, and if I drain off the water out the water tanks I can

enjoy even more payload, so that is fantastic.

In York we did a little bit of work for the Caravan and Motorhome Club Magazine;

you'll be seeing that in the December issue.

So from there I dropped off Dougal with my mum

and went to Birmingham to the NEC show. That was a really really full-on week

but it was great fun, and you've probably seen that I managed to bag myself an

interview with George Clarke, Matt Allwright and Martin Dorey, so hopefully you've

watched that. And now we're down in Kent and we're staying at Black Horse Farm

Caravan and Motorhome Club site near Folkestone, and the reason that most people

come to Black Horse Farm is because they're going to go across on the ferry

or on the Tunnel - or they've just come back. Well, that applies to us as well.

So now we can talk about the next trip which is so exciting! And our next trip

is going to be to France Spain and Portugal. As ever my insurance company

would rather I didn't tell you exactly which sites were going to and till after

we've been there, but suffice to say that we're gonna go to some hotspots and I'm

hoping to get some kite surfing in. And when we are in France on the way back

we're hoping to get some snowboarding in. So we would be there until...hopefully

back just in time for Christmas. So I'm really excited about this and then we're...

(just gonna change arms because the sun's over there now)

Now if that isn't

exciting enough what's even more exciting is the fact that we've

been loaned a different car to do our trip with. We are going in a SsangYong

Rexton, and not just any Ssangyong Rexton, we've been given a Rexton that is

absolutely fully loaded it is blinged up to the max.

It has got every single conceivable toy that you could ever want on a car.

So we've got that for the next two months, I am so excited about it. So the plan is to

take Eurotunnel over to Calais and then we're going to take the motorways, the

péage, down through France. It's going to cost quite a bit of money but I'm in

quite a hurry to get down to Portugal for reasons I'll explain in a moment.

Then we're going to make our way roughly around the coast back up, and back to the

UK in time for Christmas. So while we're doing this trip we do have three little

jobs to do. We've been commissioned by Airstream UK to make some short videos

for their website and do some nice pictures for their social media,

similarly with SsangYong they've asked us in return for the loan of the car to do

some very short videos for their social media, and finally the Caravan and

Motorhome Club have asked us to do some pictures and some videos of the sites

that we will be staying at for their marketing and their website and their

brochures, so we're going to be kept busy. But I'm sure there will be plenty of

time for vlogging so what I'm hoping to do is as well as all the regular travel

stuff that I enjoy making and I know some of you enjoy watching, also I'd like

to do a few other little videos probably a couple of Living Simply videos because

I've got a couple that I've been burning to make for ages. And also now I'll

explain one of the reasons we're going to Portugal. Some of you will know my

friend Shanna. We met Shanna in San Diego last year on

the videos, I've known her obviously a lot longer, and she has just made the

move from San Diego California to Lisbon Portugal, so a very brave lady

indeed. We're gonna go and see her, help her settle in. I'm sure the SsangYong

Rexton is going to come in very useful when it's time to go to Ikea!

So I'm really looking forward to catching up with Shanna and finding out about some

of the challenges that she's faced in making such a move because as you

all know this channel is all about keeping it authentic, keeping it real, and

talking about the challenges as well as talking about all the good stuff. So if

there is anything you would like us to cover on this trip whether it's if

you're thinking of getting an Airstream, how we're getting on with the layout, or if

you're thinking of getting an SUV like the SsangYong Rexton, what's it like to live with,

I mean we're going to cover all this anyway, obviously to the

destinations and just silly things like 'How do I pay the French péage when I'm

on my own in a right-hand drive car?' All that kind of thing. So we're be covering

all that but if you've got any burning questions that you would like covered

please leave in the comments below and I will do my best to cover those over the

next few weeks. So there you have it, that's our plans for the next few weeks.

Really exciting stuff. Please also give us a follow on social media; I'm on

Twitter and Instagram, I'll put links to those accounts in the description below.

Those feeds are generally a little bit more up to date than the YouTube videos

because it takes me a while to edit the videos obviously, so give us a follow on

Twitter and on Instagram. But I think there's a little dog over there who wants

me to throw a ball, so I'd better wrap it up now. Looking forward to your company

over the next few weeks, but it just leaves me to say, from Dougal and from me...

Thanks for tuning in!

[music]

Oh Dougal! Really? Really Dougal... oh dear, this isn't going as well as I hoped!

Masarrat Misbah | An Inspiring Interview | Speak Your Heart With Samina Peerzada - Duration: 46:18.

My guest today is Masarrat Misbah

Many people know her

To those people who don't know her, I'd like to tell that she is a beautician

and my friends

She makes people beautiful

very beautiful

but sometimes such people also come to her

who had their beauty snatched from them

thats why I would like you to meet her

so lets meet Masarrat Misbah

thank you Masarrat

thank you so much for taking out the time from your busy life

What are you doing now a days

Life is simply occupied

with work

Are you doing something special?

I heard that you have introduced a new makeup product

Yes

Its a very amazing thing

How did you get that idea?

The idea came like

for many years

I was thinking that

the products of brands coming from outside to the country

They are very expensive

and then there are girls

who want to use them but they let them go

and then they compromise for

a product which is

less expensive

but at the same time, maybe not of the same quality

so then I thought of making my own color cosmetics line for makeup

I worked

for the whole range for a good two or three years

and then caring about

You did research

Yes I did

What will be the ingredients and they should be good

what temperature is optimum

the skin texture

the colors of skin etc

so then I realised that most of the brands

are using ingredients that are

are not permisible according to our religion

Saying that there is no pig fat in it, doesn't make it a halal product

because there could have animal fats from other non permitted animals

and then there is

There are beetles that are crushed to get the colors

you are feeling shocked

but we use those colors and the

red and yellow pigments that come out of the beetles

They were used to in lip and other cosmetic colors

so you feel weird even listening to this that we eat insects

or we are putting them on

so its not permisible because it is blood

so picking up the ingredients which are pure

picking up the ingredients which

suit your skin

than you have to take care of the certain temperature

because of the climate of our country

so doing all these things, I came up with my

cosmetic line called M M makeup

Musarrat Misbah makeup

and inside it

from the foundations

to the eye colors

Liners

Lip colors

Mat colors

Highlights and everything else

and we are growing

you know, all thanks to God

My first

reaction was

that if

I call it as halal certified

then people might

not be impacted positively by it

that I created a product for the poor

so

making them understand

and their perception about cosmetics

I had to educate them to change it

and I am very fond of educating

so I thought that no

it is a challenge

and I accept it

so then I accepted the challengs

Lets rewind a little

reaching this point

Lets start from the very start

Where were you born?

How many siblings?

What was it like?

Tell me about it

I was born and brought up in Karachi

big family, Alhumdulilah

6 sisters

2 brothers

eldest in the family, so I

enjoyed being the eldest in the family

because the youngest sister would get most tense

Make me anything but not the youngest in the family

So it was a very beautiful and loving environment

you have met my family, and my parents

and my children and their children

so it was always a family in which daddy

has always given us chance to

get education

do whatever we wanted to do

Most of my family members are doctors

Even the brother in laws are also doctors

Only I was left behind

Who actually wanted to be a doctor

but I am really

happy and proud of the fact that I am a beautician

and

and now I see that many doctors are becoming beauticians and aestheticians

So

if I had put in the seeds for this thing, now

it has come to a point

in this industry

fashion industry or

makeup

taking in that point of view that

but before all of that

becoming a beautician

How was Masarrat and her home?

Was it chaos with so many siblings

Yes, we used to enjoy a lot

but none of us was a loud child

So no one would get scolded?

No

I don't believe it

You can ask my mother .

When we would have guests, they would say

that we heard you have a lot of children

so where are they all

They might be around here

We used to busy in playing

Our grandmother

and we had a lot of interactions on daily basis

meaing that if we

had elections in our school

My father really getting upset

that 4 of us sisters had dissapeared

you know they all went and followed me

but

you know it was good times

We used to do cycling

And what games would you play?

our games used to be very fun

because of the large ground we had in our house

There was cricket played on it a lot because my cousins were there with me

and we used to play baseball

baseball was part of our school and our college

so that was also very fun

an then badminton

Farhat, my younger sister was a very good player

so I used to play with her

We played table tennis with national teams

There was Farhat and

in Badminton

I remember that we travelled by the train from Karachi

to Lahore

There was a competition

and you went because of the school

We went with the school and college

did anyone come with you?

or teachers only?

Teachers

Oh that is so nice

Your parents trusted you

Yes, everytime

Meaning we were

very proud of the fact that

our teachers

were amazing like Mrs Blossom

and we had good teachers in our school too

We used to participate in inter school events in Karachi

and when it was inter colleges we used to travel to different cities too

so when there are 2 brothers in 6 sisters

what happens to them

They were so pampered

My grandmother used to discriminate us so much

Really?

Yes

both my grandmothers did that

they used to take good care of Ali and Asif

and for example

we had

chicken korma or

whatever

so the leg pieces would be give to the brothers

and we used to think that shouldn't we get them too

but they would tell us that they are small and we should give it to them

it happened like this on 1 or 2 occasions

but one day we ate before them and left them the neck pieces

now eat your leg piece

We had good fun and good laughs

Fun time

Fun time

so how did everyone decide what they will study?

and you decided that you will be a doctor

from the very start in all the minds in our family

we all wanted to be doctors

and at that time, girls didn't even have so many options

like they couldn't become I.T engineers

and there were no such things at that time too

Become a teacher or a doctor

so we used to consider medical as a better option

and many of my sisters are doctors and my brother in law too

because I got married really early

so my only

question to my father was that I wanted to study further

so he told me that they had decided that I will be allowed to study

and I had finished my first year and was going to give exams for my second year

but unfortunately

that couldn't happen

and this was an arranged marrriage

Total

and I was very happy because

my dress was being made

at that time, many things would happen

you know all the old ladies would be sitting

all the processes of planning a wedding

I actually thought that

and I was the eldest

so its a fairy tale

it was such a horrible fairy tale

but it didn't last

unfortunately but

that gave me

strength

to become what I am

I want to know that when you decided that you will no longer live together

what was the reaction of your parents

my parents were very open about it

they actually said that why did I

When did you realize that you couldn't?

My son was very young

maybe he was one year old

so

but unfortunately such things were happening that I had never seen

because no one used to speak loudly in our house

so let alone you were hearing abuses

so things like these were happening

but when

when my parents got to know that things were no working well and

the environment is not good

and he was abusive and violent

so we decided that we should end this

because I think that this in an important moment

for anyone's life

that if you are in an abusive or violent relationship

then the girls get scared

about telling the parents

because you had such big reponsibilities and you had other small sisters

exactly it was like this

that I am the eldest

and things like this should not happen

My parents, my mother and my father

they have got a very big circle of friends

and all the close people

but

I had such amazing parents

that they said

why did you even endure this?

are you not educated anymore?

you have studied something

so I was very close to my grandfather also

so I went to him when

an incident happened and I started crying

so he said that

You did wrong my child

He was

like a shining beacon

and when all these things were eventually resolved

than my father told me that

now I should continue my studies

I told him that no, I have to stand on my feet

He was like, what?

I am sure that he was thinking

that what was I trying to do

but I told him that I have to stand on my feet

so he said that

What are you going to do? You should complete your studies first

and I was fond of studying, I was a good student

so I told him that I wanted to do some work

I will stand on my feet

I will take care of my son, so he said

there is nothing difficult here

and the truth is that if I had 10 children and they came with me to that house, they would be brought up easily

so I said that no

one day he came from his office and

and he had these vogues and cosmopolitans

and at the end pages there were

things and information about school and colleges, so we wrote to many of them

Fashion schools and

all others about vocational training

the first reply in it was of a beauty school

Shaw College of Beauty and Therapy in London Mayfair

then we got information about it

it was good and expensive

so he told me to go and study

So I left for London in 1980, I left my son to my parents, and I was very

upset

I wouldn't say I was unhappy

because I was going there by my own choice

but

and if there was a morning course there I would be studyinig in the evening too

because I wanted to learn so much

in such a short time and

I wanted to be really

educated in my field

this vocational training

It wasn't called this in those days

I think it was only called training

so when I came back after that

I was in for another surprise, my father

had bought and apartment in a building in Tariq Road

and my parents took me there, they opened a door and I saw that my father had it a barber shop

I told him that the seats are so high and he told me that he had seen this in the barber shop he would go to

I told him that women are a little small, they can't sit like this for a haircut

so my father agreed to change them

so this is how I started

and then there was no looking back

I started working, I was so happy

I was happy that I was back and I was qualified

with me came

a girl who was in my college only

from London only

and this is now also a big thing

that her name was Diplex

and no one could understand it

secondly there was an English women who came with us

who used to work there

and very quickly a small thing was spread, at that time

there was no internet or messages, there were only a few magazines and PTV

so slowly we started in that

but there is one incident that I always narrate and tell everyone

not because I succeeded in it

but because

women and young girls face

certain difficulties

like there was this lady

who was our neighbour and I thought that now that I have opened up a salon, I am going to tell her

so I knocked the door and she banged it on my face

I thought that she did by mistake and when I knocked again, she opened and said that, bad women like you will now pollute our society

and I was like

and I started crying

because I was not expecting

that she was saying this to me

you know I was an educated women

for years and years, I would come up the stairs, she was an educated lady

she would go down and I would greet her but she would do this

meaning that she hated me so much

then after 3 or 4 years

one day

Diplex's door opened and this lady walked in

with her daughter

came into my office

looked at my certicates and said

You are very well educated

I asked her whether everything was fine?

and she said, make her like yourself

so that day

I thought that I had achieved something

because they day she

hated me

I still prayed and thanked God and that is something that I always do Samina

I thank God in every kind of situation

that He has give me only such a problem that I can face

so thank you, because worse could happen

but the day she came I

thanked God again

because

this was a big achievement for me

that a perception

of a beautician

of a working women

because I was very young at that time

that changed

people

started looking at me from a good perspective

they started appreciating my work

and the work was getting better because

the girls that I hired

I trained them and I trained them exactly they way I was trained

then we started getting

actresses

actors, for their makeup

for newspapers and magazines

PTV already had a makeup department

but for their special programs like

What was the name?

Neelam Ghar

All the guests in Neelam Ghar used to get their makeup done from us

and that is how I came to know about

so many of our actresses

like Nayyer Sultaana

Sabiha Khanum

We did makeup for Nazia Hassan

Shabnam

and Shabnam and

film industry also at that time but in Lahore

and what about the second marriage? Was it a love marriage?

No

It was also arranged?

Kind of

because I hadn't met him the first time

second time I did get a chance to meet my husband

and he was in England so

my son was already

studying in a private school in Bristol

so I though this was a good arrangement

I would be near my son

and you can see how you focus changed in your life

at that time when I started, my focal point was my son

When he grew older and was capable enough to study abroad

then my work became important to me

and when I got married again, I was very busy with my work at that time

after 10 years and my son was 10 years old

so in those 10 years

I made a name and I earned a lot of respect

people

people started acknowledging me as a good beautician

so at that time I thought that this was perfect

if I am in London

so it would become easy for me to meet my son

because I would go to meet him once or twice a year, when he had his vacations

but

unfortunately it wasn't good also

then I came back

to Pakistan after 5 years

5 or 6 years actually

Ridha was

very young

and

then I started my salon in

Lahore

Why this?

Naturally it should have been in Karachi

It should have been in Karachi because it was easy, I had my parents

but

and you had your siblings too

the support system was in Karachi

but my husband said that I should settle in Lahore

I just wanted to get out of there somehow

if he wanted me to to Chichwatni, I would have gone ther e

you know because I thought of being back home

but when I came back to Lahore

after 2 years

then

my husband started spending more time here in Lahore

he would take all the money that I had earned and saved

but because he was a very difficult man

so it was for me and Rida

that it would be better if he took the money

and I could manage again

Rida was very young then

I think when parents

are unhappy

so there children sense it very quickly

that things are not well

and that is the time and very important for the parents

and specially for a mother

to take care of the children

more and in a better way

so that the negativity of their relationship doesn't affect them

it shouldn't happen like this because I have usually seen

that when parents are angry with each other

and they talk nicely to each other

then the kids talk in the same way

with their parents and other elders

so I kept that thing under control

that people don't come to me and say

that the children are just like the mother

that talks like these are going on

but

all thanks to God, this never happened

but this time I took the step of

getting a divorce

at that time I wasn't understanding anything

and

It wasn't a nice time, this was also a bad time

and

Everytime when you would face difficulties

how do you stand back up?

I have seen this myself, again and again

I have seen the time when people talked bad about you and many other things

there were cases to, you faced so much

but everytime

I never saw you in anger

you always comeback

and you become more strong

how does this happen?

this happens

because of your family

this happens because of your

strong parents and parenting system

My parents, especially my father

my mother is a housewife

and she trained us wonderfully

but my father was so strong that I

could never fall

because he was like a support for me

who would make me stand no matter what

and this time also

he was the one who said, no no no, get up

and the work you have earned so much

worked so hard

you have go to children now Masarrat

because I was really devastated and I thought that this time it would be hard for me

at that time I was young

I was full of energy and self belief

but this time I was thinking that

after everything the same thing is happening again

You will start from zero again

so then I started from the scratch

and then

the thing that started, I think I was

I became more strrong

more confident

and I wouldn't be scared that what will happen next

what can happen any worse

but thank God

that had it been this bad

so I have got amazing children

I am so proud of my students, my son Khurram teaches at Karachi University

I have got a grandson Khizzer and my daughter in law is amazing

then Rida

came into the same field

he was very young, she went abroad

studied and came back

stayed for some years with my parents also

that is also an amazing incident

Rida talked to our maid in a rude manner

and I asked her that how did you talk to her?

she told me that she wasn't working properly

when the holidays came , I told her to pack up for finishing school

She asked whether I was sending her to Switzerland

I said no, it is called grandma's finishing school

and after month she called

and said that I didn't do anything so bad

and you should call me back

and going to grandmother's house means that you have to do everything with dicipline

you have to talk with decency

and now Rida, Alhumdulila, she is an amazing

daughter

loving wife

she is taking care of 2 kids

and is working as well

She has taken over my business

because I

started working for burnt victims

I wanted to ask this that

when there is so much beauty

You call people and they come to you

They become beautiful

with their hair and makeup

and all of them leave with decency

then suddenly

what happened?

where did you get the idea that

all these broken, shattered and battered people

you will take care of them

I personally think that

that this

this is a direction pointed by Allah

If you don't want to do it, then don't

but if in front of you

a face comes that

because you are beautician

and they come to you to fix the face with makeup and when you look at the face

the first time I met this girl who came to my salon

burnt victim

I sat their because I thought that my feet were powerless

because in front of me

there is no nose and an eye is missing

the neck is joined

and this girl said to me, you are such a big beautician, you have to fix me

and I felt the same way when I found about it the first time

and then I

when I went home, I apologized to God

because

I thought of my self as very small

Small because God had give me such an easy life

my business was flourishing and my business was settled

Rida had not been married at that time

but everything was better

so why couldn't I see these things, why was I blind

why was I not listening

that I couldn't hear the sound of people in pain

and why was my language like this

that couldn't speak for anyone

then I thanked Allah because he had give me such a good life

that I

there is a way of thanking

so maybe I could thank him this way

so thats how I started in 2003 and in 2005 got myself registered

and then slowly and gradually

these girls came to me and we would go to them

it becomes a breaking news on every television channel

that a girl was burned and other things

but then I realised this also

when do you help someone?

One thing is that Allah guided you

and this is also guidance that you

lower down the window of your car and you give money to a begger

this also a way to thank Allah

but taking a step further from there means that

you can only do this when, when you are satisfied with your life

when you don't have a problem of getting food

when you are paying your bills easily

when you children are studying or have studied

and your responsibilities are not a lot

then you can take responsibility of others

its exactly like, when you are travelling

and when they say that place the oxygen masks on your face first and then help the other person

I think that you cannot help anyone if you yourself are not strong

Gone are the days when

Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) asked for help

and some was giving half of their homes

and some were giving everything they had

now such people don't exist

and nor can they become

but I know one thing that if someone asks for my help now, I would be able to help them in a better way

as compared to the time when I was worried about my children

and I was trying to make my business better

and when you are doing some good work specially

like you said

that a afield that is all about a women's vanity, the glamour and the beautiful faces

and then a face thats is scarred

deformed

and girls that are

meaning they have lost it

they are women without faces

young girls without faces

bringing them back to life

bringing a smile back on there faces is

something which is difficult

but so rewarding

it is a treat and feast for me

to watch these girls come into the

in the morning to Diplex

and the come and put on lipstick then they do their eyebrows because they don't eyebrows left

their lips are deformed

and when they see that I am watching they do this

and then I tell them how good they look

that smile and happiness

like I told you before

first my child

then my business

then my Rida

and now what?

So this is now

now I don't want Allah to give me another goal

I just want to help these girls, I want them to

reach a point in their life when it is really important for them to be empowered

to be confident

and to feel beautiful

Yes there is no beauty left in them

but it is

We should all put an effort as a society and as an individual

that we

pull them back to the circle of life

and then we love them

why can't you hug them

Why is it like that?

and you know whenever I have seen you

when you meet these girls and hug them

for them it is such a big thing that Samina Peerzada

has hugged us

But can't we stop this, because we talked about this in England when I called you

that why can't we take that legislative step

in which we can't even get the bottle of acid on the counter

coming to the second step of our goal of finishing this

the first was on legislation

and some amendments came on it

and after that, implementations on it

that doesn't happen because

justice delayed is justice denied

but

very recently girl, who would

who had acid thrown on her

and she had lost her eye and everything else

her anti terrorist took place in the court

in 10 to 15 days the decision was made

the boy was put behind the bar

he was sentecnced with a long term penalty

He had to give compensation and everything

one such incident

one such justice

would actually

curb the crime but

but in the last 2 months

there have been 11 to 12 such incidents where acid was thrown

this means that

law was made, implementation on it is being done

but still

meaning in 2 months you do this to 12 or 13 girls

only day before yesterday

a husband threw acid on his wife

A long with the 3 girls

young children\

his own girls

so this means that the second step is sale of acid

so I am working on it

that sale of acid

should be banned in such a way that you cannot buy it without perscription

there are so many things that you can't get without perscription

and the life threatening thing

like medicines

yes, entire lives are destroyed

so we are working on it

When does Musarrat feel happy?

I feel happy with everyhting

I am

you know people think that I am very

much like this

but I am very colorful from inside

Honestly I enjoy it

I love it and I feel happy

when I see a small child you know

he is taking a flower

any mother or child or father and son

any performer

or any man cycling

and he is singing

and irelevant of the fact that who says what

the mop is behind him

and his singing

Look at his happiness you know

and when do you feel sad?

When people

When I get to know

that people are so negative

and why are they thinking so bad about someone else

who are we to judge people

who are we to

form an opinion about anybody

look at yourself first

these thing make me very sad

when I think that

other people think you are stupid

Did you regret about anything?

Not regretted but I have learned

I can say that every

weakness

or every downfall

or any worry

I learn from them

and when you believe people

that is also a learning process

but I have learned and I think that

from many bad people, maybe there are some good people too

you know who gives you positive vibes and happy feelings

What is life?

I think all the stages if your life

its different in all of them

like at this point in my life

I am contented with life

I am happy that I am trying to help women

and before that

I wanted to make everyone beautiful

and that this is my beautiful life

or even before that, with my parents

meaning every era is changing your life

and it should not be stagnant, stagnant means smelly water

people say that flowers blooms in them

but they can bloom in clean water too

And what is death?

Start of another life

this is my strong belief

people think that

this is the life and death and world

but I am a very

inside I am very strong religious person

I know that

after my death

I am preparing for my life after it

Do you know when Junaid Jamshed died

it was so sudden

all of us were so shocked

and at that time

You know if you understand

so we all have our boarding pass

its the flight that we take which is going to take us to

to the end

that is why we should be prepared, and I believe on another thing

today the life that you are living

please make sure

that you don't have any incomplete work behind

and I am not talking about worldly things

For example, you took someone's money

that you have forgotten

or you did bad with someone

and you

you think that what you did was right

you should stop with the me and my

we should actually prepare ourselves for

for what is going to happen tomorrow

and if there are

unprepared or unfinished things

you should complete them

whether you have to end you ego because of it

whether you are questioning that how can you do it

I had done so much

people will say this to me

Let them say

because if you are uncomfortable inside

and if you are

feeling that

you did wrong

then please

forgive and forget

and not in heart

if I have done something wrong then I will apologize to you

and please excuse me even though so many days or years have passed

but if I did something that hurt you

please forgive me

please

Thank you so much

It was so fun

You didn't talk about work at all

Thank you

When A Man Saw An Animal Tied To A Railroad Track, He Faced A Race Against Time To Try And Save Him - Duration: 5:39.

When a man saw an animal tied to a railroad track he faced a race against time to try and save him

Jared Tweddle was driving one weekend when he noticed an unusual mass in the middle of a train track upon closer inspection, though

He realized that the object was an animal and to make matters worse. It was tied up

But Tweddle didn't just stand by instead. He embarked on a race against time to save the creature

Tweddle comes from Oregon where he shares his home with a whole host of furry friends

Including one Flemish rabbit a few cats and a pair of rescue dogs

Needless to say then the man seems to be somewhat of an animal lover

However, seemingly not everyone in 12 states shares his apparent affection in

2017 for instance a rise in the number of animal abandonments was reported in one corner of Southern, Oregon

Residents in Jackson County had grown concerned after having noticed that more and more animals were being left on quiet roads

Ashleigh Cates was a resident of the area at the time and in just one week

She'd learned of three abandoned dogs in her immediate neighborhood

I don't know if it's the heat or what circumstances are pushing more out right now

But the abandonment definitely seems like it's ramping up

She told KOB I in 2017 and the problem hasn't gone unnoticed by the staff at Jackson County Animal Services either

For whatever reason this does happen quite often in Jackson County. Mike sluzer. Ik an officer of the department revealed

Speaking of the abandoned animals lose eric said they're often scared and panicked because they watch their owner or whoever drive off

He added in a specific case. It was reported the dog was trying to chase after the vehicle as if to get back in

And the reality of animal abandonment was something that Tweddle was about to confront head-on on one Sunday in July of 2018

He was taking a trip to a nearby recycling center then however, something troubling would catch twiddles eye

Describing the strange scenes Tweddle told the dodo in July of 2018

There are railroad tracks near the gate out of the corner of my eye. I caught this flicker of movement

He added. I thought it was a deer lying on the tracks

And perhaps because he's an animal lover Tweddle was concerned for the creature safety as a result

He then rolled down his car window and whistled. It was his hope that the piercing noise would startle the animal off the train tracks

But well Tweedles whistling did attract the animals attention. The only response he received was the prickling of two little ears

however, now that Tweddle had a better view of the creature he realized that the animal in question wasn't a wild deer but a dog

All of a sudden Tweddle started to get a bad feeling about the dog's

Predicament and his worries were cemented when he realized that the animal was tied to the tracks

I went into panic mode the Oregon man later admitted to the dodo the dog tried to walk toward the car

but the Rope pulled him back and

Although Tweddle knew that trains passed over that section to track a minimum of three times a day

He had no idea of the schedule as a consequence

Then he jumped out of his car to launch a race against time to free the dog

Speaking of the pooch twel revealed. He was obviously scared. I was worried about whether or not he'd let me get close to him

I patted my leg and said hey little buddy his tail just started wagging. That's when I knew he'd be okay with me approaching him

Now that Tweddle knew he was safe to help the dog

His only hurdle was saving the distressed canine before it was too late

The summer heat had already taken its toll so the abandoned animals welfare depended on his rescuer freeing him as quickly as possible

And

His Tweddle worked to unshackle the dog. He may have thought about the person who had heartlessly left the animal there

The rope was tied in a figure eight like you would use to tie a boat to a dock Tweddle later revealed

Someone did this 100% on purpose. It just made me sick

Thankfully though Tweddle was able to free the dog from its precarious position and to ensure that the pooch was well looked after

The rescuer took him home with him

It was at this point that the young dog became known as Samson a name given to the animal by treadles family

from that moment

Well cared-for Samson is one of his own

Back in the safety of his home the Good Samaritan bathed the dog and picked off the burrs from his coat

Luckily despite there being a small gash on Samson's neck the pup appeared to be in pretty good shape

what's more it didn't take the dog long to find his place and Tweedles family and

The man who had rescued and was particularly happy to see Samson form bonds with his other pets

The dogs have all been getting along great twiddle revealed to the dodo all they've been doing since I brought Samson home is play

Meanwhile, although it was believed that Samson was only six months of age at the time of his retrieval from the train tracks

He was already quite the handful

He's definitely rambunctious and really big Tweddle explained

In fact, the Oregon native suggested that someone may have dumped Samson when the dog had grown larger than expected

Thankfully though Samson's darkest days appear to be behind him and although 20

Originally planning on looking after the dog until a new home could be found

it may very well be the case that Samson's permanent home will be with the 20s all

Samson is a really great dog. The animals rescuer gushed to the dodo

Make an EXTRA $1000 a Month Reselling Stuff Online [ANYONE CAN] - Duration: 23:12.

what if I told you that you can make a thousand dollars every single month on

the side by simply reselling simple everyday items want to know how let's

jump in so you want to make some extra money reselling stuff online but you

might not be sure where how and what to actually sell and we're gonna talk about

all of that here in a second and I'm gonna give you a lot of good examples

throughout the course of this video but first I want to talk about the

inspiration from this video and where it comes from

now this video is inspired from Gary B's new series trash talk and if you're

unfamiliar with what trash talk actually is it's basically Gary Vee going around

demonstrating that ROI the ridiculous ROI that you can make by simply sourcing

resale products from garage sales and all over the place and reselling them

and real estate them back online it is literally so easy to do and there's so

much profit to be made if you're willing to put in the work and I love the

message that he's basically sending aspiring entrepreneurs which is you can

make money if you're willing to cut the excuses and spend the sweat equity so

today I wanted to take it a step further and actually show you a few more great

examples of things that you can resell online for a great profit and this

concept is super super simple to implement but most people won't take the

action why well two reasons primarily either a they believe that everyone is

already doing this especially with all the hype that trash talk is getting

which I assure you they're not because trust me guys 90

nine point nine percent of the people that watch this or watch a video like

trash talk are gonna sit there and think to themselves wow what a great idea to

make money I could certainly do that but then they're not going to do anything

about it because it's out of their comfort zone or be because they're kind

of scared to go out in the world and try it they might not want to be seen

scanning items to check the price or maybe they're afraid of what people they

know might think of them the good news is you can be one of the 0.01% that does

take the action and therefore reaps the cash and the benefits how do I know this

scares other people well I hear it all the time on a daily basis from other

aspiring entrepreneurs that I might be coaching and to be perfectly honest I

have the same thoughts and insecurities as well but the difference is I push

through them and I don't let them paralyze me to not take any action

that's what I suggest that you do so I'm not saying that you have to do this

full-time or even at all if you don't want to I just wanted to demonstrate not

talk about it but actually demonstrate this is what I did and these are the

results and more importantly you can too so if you need an extra thousand a month

just think of this as another tool in your money-making arsenal alright so

where can you actually go to get a ridiculous ROI

on the items that you're buying and where can you resell them what items

should you look for and how are you gonna ensure that they're profitable all

very questions first and foremost I actually recommend two apps and those

are the Amazon seller app and the eBay seller app both are 100% free sure you

can download other fancy apps too like Scout buy or Scout Lee or even by your

own scanner but those are not necessary all you need are the free Amazon and

eBay app to get started so then what items should you look for I'm gonna give

you some examples here in a second of items that I bought and picked

specifically for this reselling process where I got them and how I ensured

that they were profitable and I was going to get a decent ROI and of course

how much I actually expect from buying and reselling these specific items

alright guys so here you'll see a bunch of pictures flashing on the screen of a

book haul that I grabbed from a flea market this past weekend now you can

grab books all over the place in multiple different locations and I

recommend books because there's a great return on your investment they're really

really small there's great return on your investment if you find the right

ones they're really small they're easy to ship and a lot of them sell really

high and for really high ROI on Amazon the key is finding the right books and

paying the right price if you can pay a small enough price obviously your ROI is

going to be you know higher so specifically here you'll see all these

books I grabbed all these books off somebody in a box for five bucks at a

flea market this past weekend so typically I recommend that you're

scanning the books ahead of time now you can grab books at a flea market

you can grab books at a library you know when they have those those sales where

they're trying to get rid of their books you can also grab books you know at you

know Goodwill's or Salvation Army stores or anything like that there's all over

the place you can find books and you know I just elected to buy them at a

flea market because I saw an opportunity there and I saw it as a good opportunity

to show you guys that you know I can make a return on my investment so I

haven't scanned any of these yet I don't recommend that you go this route I don't

recommend that you buy them ahead of time without knowing what they're worth

I just did because I thought it was a good opportunity to show you guys what

these could actually be worth so we're gonna find out together here I'm gonna

start scanning them on my Amazon app here in a second and the key here to

remember is that you're gonna want to scan these ahead of

time and then obviously see what they're worth before you buy them so if you scan

a book and it goes for 20 bucks online but you're gonna spend 15 bucks to get

it well probably not worth it necessarily in my opinion but if you

scan a book in it's worth 20 and you can buy it for a dollar

then let's good return on your investment because after some Amazon's

fees and slight things you could probably make a good 15 bucks maybe 10

bucks minimum on that potential book so like I said this is side money this is

easy side money anybody can do this if you're willing to put the sweat equity

in roll your sleeves up and get to work so let's jump into the phone and

actually demonstrate what it is that these are actually worth now like I said

I bought these for five bucks a flea market you can go ahead and scan them

ahead of time like I'm gonna show you here in a second before you actually buy

them but let's see I bought all these books for five bucks let's start

scanning and see what they're worth so you can scan the barcode if you go to

the Amazon app you can start scanning things on the top right corner and like

you see here and you can scan the barcode this looks like Seoul shift oops

in the wrong book look it's in the the tolkien one in the beginning here

another thing to keep in mind is this up top you'll see the sales rank on the

bottom of the products the higher the sales rank typically speaking obviously

the lower and slower it's going to take for that book to sell or anything to

sell them and give you some other examples here in a second so stick with

me other places you can source other items that aren't books that you can

sell and resell online to make money so looks like this token book already

hat already sells for if you look at the top in here 677 roughly online now if I

assume that I dropped that like 10 cents to get the buy box or not the buy box

but the the the to get you know get basically get an exposure so I could

sell it then I'm still making my money back pretty much just on this one book

on the first one that we scan let's scan a couple more and see what we're working

with here now you can scan the barcode like I said right here this one's worth

four bucks so that's cool now we're up to like nine dollars profit or you can

simply scan the front of the book it's cool little thing about this is you can

scan the front of the book and Amazon's app will pick up on it so same same

looks like this one's a slow moving a SAN

at 11 million it's the same exact book that I just scanned 719 779 it's

important to keep in mind that you'll notice that there's multiple listing

sometimes with books so sometimes if I wanted to sell faster you see this

second one right here has a rank of 900,000 and 2 but it sells for a little

bit less so it depends on if you want to move it faster if you want to wait on it

and get a you know two three dollars more it's up to you let's scan a few

more and I'll show you a couple good examples so right of the far side I

don't know what this book has never heard of it Klim doesn't look like a

great one doesn't even wear it look like it's really worth my time 25 cents to 95

here and there you know the 295 obviously the lower sales rank which is

to be expected if you sell it for 25 cents it should move relatively fast

because books are you know obviously Amazon sells a lot of books let's even

you find a good one here let's try this magazine that I found Tekken 3 Tekken 3

sells for looks like some of our more tense on number 498 and typically

speaking when you saw our 3-2 324 try this one pH miracle

that one looks like it sells new and used because you're looking at the

bottom the new and user right there at the top right you're not going to look

at the buy box price because that's new so it looks like also the bottom one at

9:58 right here sells for $1.99 so not necessarily the best book in the world

with strike on warm Philip Pullman

this one's 230 so we're not finding any good books and typically speaking this

is what will happen you're gonna have to scan you know maybe 50 to 100 bucks

before you're gonna find a great great one but I bought all these for five so

it should be a good ROI see what else we're working with here this is 30 cents

399 not the best I'm gonna find a good one for you guys really really fast and

we're gonna jump into some other examples this one's not terrible this

was not terrible at all so this first one right here and this is a good

example that I want to show you guys now I'm not a professional online book

reseller I do do other online reselling that we're gonna talk about at the end

of this video so stick with me that's really gonna make you some great money

but this is just another tool in your arsenal so the first one sells for 686

already made my money back pretty much if I sell this one book and the sales

rank there's a million so that should sell relatively quickly in books you

know maybe a week or two max and I'll get my money back

however this bottom one right here you might think that you can sell it for 28

18 because it says seven new and used for 28 18 keep in mind that there's no

Asin or there's no sales rank there so that is not a good idea because and keep

in mind when you're scanning these things because when you're scanning and

there's no no sales rank that typically means that it doesn't sell and doesn't

sell well Chris prices investing $1.99 looks like the second one is 857 but

like we said before just like I just talked about no sales rank I'm gonna

find a good one for you guys really fast here that's not a good one

sparse ID that's not a bad one it's a slow moving ass and of so no sales rank

right here $0.99 try to find another one

the mind's eye 76 cents world that list okay so this is a good example actually

so remember keep in mind that I bought all these books for five bucks this one

right here as a sales rank of about six million six hundred and seventy six

thousand and new and used is going for a ten fifty two if you look all the way at

the top of the screen so we're gonna end these books here but I went through and

scanned all these I might be able to find a couple that were a ten I might

find a gem in there that was worth like 50 to 100 potentially if it's rare and I

might you know obviously have a bunch of them that are worth you know a couple

cents to a couple bucks but if I bought all these for five bucks and I'm willing

to put them all and remember guys all you can do is scan them and then add the

product to Amazon with the Amazon app you can do the same thing on eBay I'm

gonna show you examples with eBay although if you're selling books Amazon

is the better marketplace Amazon to the book marketplace in my opinion eBay is a

good place to sell used items that you find out like flea markets and we're

gonna go you know and at like you know Goodwill's and stuff like that we're

gonna talk about that here in a second but it's just important to keep in mind

that you know eBay is a different marketplace so let's jump over to some

of the eBay items all right now moving on to some items that I bought at that

same exact flea market off a guy literally like two feet away and these

are all you know collector's items and things that kind of caught my eye I did

a little bit of research ahead of time on the eBay app obviously you can go

ahead and scan these if they have barcodes in there if they're new I

simply bought collectors items and toys that I thought were valuable you know I

did a little bit of research on the eBay app like I said that's why it's

important to download both the eBay app and the Amazon app so you can do your

research while you're out now keep in mind that these are not new

items I wasn't necessarily going for new items because eBay is

in my opinion there's it's a different market place something sell better on

eBay something sell better on Amazon and specifically here these are collectors

items because I thought they were good examples of you know demonstrating

products that you could resell for a good ROI on your your investment now I

bought all these things off this guy for ten bucks there were as you can see here

I think there is what is there like six or seven items here as you're looking

through the pictures and I did the my research all on eBay to make sure that

they would sell and I'd get my money back if this was a good example to show

you guys of example products that you should go after and target but the the

supply is endless there's no one item or one niche or one specific category of

products that sell better on eBay that you should target there's no one

specific item of products that sell better on Amazon that you target do your

research if they're ebooks scan them obviously Amazon not do your research on

both so let's jump in now you'll see here if we look at the speeder I knew

all the the specific Star Wars toys that this guy had I thought that they would

sell well because I could sell them on eBay as collector stuff and Star Wars

has a broad market a lot of people love Star Wars a lot of people are willing to

buy Star Wars toys and if you call them collectible and you sell them right you

should be able to get rid of them on eBay so here's an example like I said

looking for that I guess it was called the t47 speeder it took me a while to

find it but I found it when I got home and another thing to keep in mind when

you're searching for these products on eBay is you don't want to just search

for them and assume that you can sell them you might search for the t47

speeder like right here and look and see that somebody's selling it for 40 or 50

bucks and someone else is selling it for a hundred bucks and think oh my god I

hit the jackpot I hit the mother lode I can sell this for ridiculous ROI not so

fast make sure that you scroll down when

you're searching for them and you click sold items that will check off sold

items and completed items and show you exactly exactly what the market is for

that item so you're not looking at what people are selling it now some people

can go out and try to sell it for a little bit more and the Rhino might

never sell so you want to look for sold items and completed items and see what

people are paying for these items on eBay so this sold yeah like three

days ago on October 30th 2018 for 2396 now that's the same replica but that has

a stand and it comes in a box so that's not me 2450 comes in a box not me comes

in a box 2572 comes in a box 25 it comes in a box 17 comes in a box for that so

that's might be a little one I'm not sure comes this one is pre-owned but oh

it's a Lego one I don't have a Lego one so it looks like you know speaking here

this looks like a smaller one is it's uh it's art so it looks like here in my

opinion all the pre-owned ones that come with a box are selling for you know

twenty low 20s to about 25 so I probably get rid of this because it doesn't come

in a box or maybe 10 to 15 bucks realistically if I sold it as a

collectible tend to get rid of it fast so just recoup all my money now yes you

are gonna deal with some eBay fees so I might only make seven or eight bucks on

that and depending on if you're offering shipping or not you know or free

shipping you're gonna have to eat some that shipping cost too but you don't

have to typically people don't always expect it but you'll see here free

shipping or free returns free shipping through your turns free shipping free

returns and that you know in a nutshell it's easier to sell on eBay if you offer

free shipping and you know fast processing and handling but that's a

little bit beyond the scope of this video if you guys have any questions on

ebay drop them in the comments I'd love to answer them for you if you have any

questions on reselling or Amazon or anything like this at all

obviously drop them in the in the comments down below I'd love to answer

them for you but I feel like I could offload this for about ten bucks let's

move on another thing I grabbed was a gameboy color a yellow one and it came

with pokemon pinball I didn't even know that was a thing I've heard of Pokemon

obviously because I'm 28 and I grew up playing Pokemon but I've ever heard of

pokemon pinball so it came with pokemon pinball

I don't even search that but that might be valuable so the Gameboy colors it

looks like this is a pre-owned red one pre-owned red one

preowned yellow one that comes with a box and the light you know pre-owned

blue one so I could probably get rid of this game what color fifteen to twenty

bucks realistically and remember I just sold

that last thing potentially I didn't actually sell out I'm just going through

and telling you guys I might list these on eBay I might not I have a pretty

decent eBay account so people would buy with trust and they should go relatively

fast if I decide to list them but just showing you examples here of the things

that I bought and what I could sell them for if I list them and when I list them

so I probably offload this from maybe 15 to 20 bucks that yellow gameboy color

maybe I offer the pokemon pinball if it's not worth anything for you know as

a bundle with a gameboy you know game and the Gameboy for 15

you know maybe 15 bucks so now we're at $25 and I only spent 10 to get those two

items but there is more I searched the pet rock now I don't know

anything about pet rocks I think this is like a 60s 70s or 80s thing

forgive me if I'm you know butchering that I thought it was like a it was like

a trend back in the day I know that because I feel like my dad talked about

that rock so I jumped on that pet rock as an opportunity but apparently you can

still buy them and make them yourself so I did not found that specific that rock

if anybody knows if that's valuable or her hair let me know I thought it was a

guest that was a dud so wasted my money on the pet rock no big deal were still

up 15 bucks another thing to keep in mind just I know I said this before but

reorder iterating because it's smart when you search for the pet rock or any

item go down to completed listings sold items completed items period that will

show you the market for it and what they're actually selling for not what

people are listing that forth moving on more Star Wars r2d2 he sells it looks

like this one's beat up but that one sold for 1995 and that was on that was

today that was before 1995 so I can easily drop that for 1995 mine's in

better condition this one looks like came in the box it's old on today as

well for 10 this is the different it looks like it's

similar but different this is looks similar but different 37:49 this looks

similar and shipping wow I'm surprised that's well that's that's expensive but

that one looks like it's fairly good condition

that one's same thing and that one kind of looks a little bit like mine I don't

have any of those other things that I bought but came with you know r2d2

looking like that kind of I could probably drop this for maybe 20 bucks

maybe 15 so you know and if I really wanted to sell it fast maybe 10 so let's

just hypothetically take the low end and say 10 bucks so now we're at 35 bucks

and I pay $10 to get that alright this other one I had to do research I don't

know what this orange droid was called obviously I know r2d2 who doesn't but

this was apparently r5 d4 and he sells sporadically kind of like r2d2 completed

listing sold those things again let's let's reiterate that you know 11 bucks

for this one that looks pretty similar 17 for that one 1750 1561 so I could

drop this for another 10 bucks easily let's say another 10 bucks now we're at

45 I believe hopefully I'm doing the math right I don't remember what I added

up with 45 all right now the landspeeder thing that I bought now mine the one

that that I actually bought was a little broken didn't have this back piece it

was ripped off and it didn't have that front piece so I probably can't sell it

for 1375 like this even though that comes with a an action figure to it

looks like this looks really similar except mine's a little beat-up and it

comes with that's obviously not it doesn't come with the r2d2 or the

lunchbox alright this is exactly what I have basically without that metal back

and without the via the the windshield there so maybe this

one sold on yesterday for 25 maybe I dropped mine for 10 bucks maybe 950

something like that same thing right here relatively similar there so I feel

like I can get rid of that for like five to ten bucks easily recoup some my money

let's say five because it is a little broken although it is a collector's item

in quotes collector's item that's how you sell them on eBay always about the

marketing so five bucks will add we'll call it even 50 now and this looks like

it's the same landspeeder for 995 that I opened so same same now we're at 50

bucks not only showed you a couple items I didn't go crazy and stay at the flea

market for a while because I had stuff to do last weekend but I did go for an

hour just to kind of grab some stuff cuz I knew I planned on making this video

for you guys so if I sold all those books on the on Amazon and then scan the

marks I didn't want to waste your time and it got a little bit long let's say

you know fifty to a hundred bucks let's say fifty minimum that once we'll

pretend I'm sure there's another one in there that would sell for ten so let's

say 50 on those on those books okay I spent five books on this book five bucks

on those books so fifty minus five is forty five dollars profit so far now I

spend 10 dollars on those on those six to seven potential eBay items that I

thought were collectors items five I was late ill so there's no excuse I wanted

to demonstrate this for you guys you know kind of show you exactly the

process of it not obviously I didn't document it so I don't have a film crew

that follows me like Gary Vee does but you can do this too if you're willing to

put the work in and you're willing to spend sweat equity now if you guys are

interested too I also do have many videos on this channel where I'm talking

about reselling arbitrage products now reselling arbitrage and I've talked

about this in a video in the past I'm not going to get too too in-depth of it

if you guys want to do all this sourcing from your house and you're too scared to

go out you know to the book store if you're too scared to go out to the

Goodwill's and the flea markets and stuff like that and resell items in

person and do the research you can do it all online - I've talked about this many

many times but I'll drop a video that I did about a week ago on online arbitrage

and a trash talk video I did before cards up in the right-hand corner if you

wanna check that out but other than that subscribe if you guys are new and if you

like the video and you like the value in today's video and you

appreciate all the time and effort that I went into putting this video together

please give it a thumbs up I genuinely appreciate it and I put a lot of time

and effort into actually you know creating this video believe it or not

and I will see you guys in the next one

Romper's Doula Diaries: An Early Arrival - Duration: 10:31.

-Emilie!

-OK, I'm here.

How far is the hospital from here?

-Thirty minutes.

-My name is Emilie, I'm her doula.

She went from sporadic contractions to pushing.

[screaming]

-Micheal. Um, yeah, call an ambulance.

[moaning]

-Do you wanna go to the waterfall?

-No, no— Oh, yeah, I do!

-Yes?

I have been a doula for almost two years now, and I've attended 20 births.

Doulas are there for the moms: they're there to help them labor and prepare for the birth.

Where sometimes in the medical field, we see the moms forgotten.

We all grow up, I feel like, in America not having great birth education.

So, when we think about birth, there's a lot of fear.

I have a two-year-old son named Elijah. Helping a mom, I think

it really helps to have been there before.

Wow! [laughing]

This is my calling,

and this is what I'm suppose to be doing and I'll be doing this forever.

-We are 39 weeks and expecting our second child.

I'm, at this point, working full time still.

Exhausting, I think, is the best way to describe it,

um, since, you know, there's less rest and more running around

since we have a soon-to-be three-year-old.

I think that it's hard when you're, like, being a full-time mom.

Full-time wife, full-time daughter, full-time sister, full-time employee.

Trying to be really good at a lot of different things, all at the same time.

-Mommy, look.

-Oh, what am I making?

I'm making tofu, yes, and rice and green beans? Okay.

So, we had a doula during our first pregnancy.

We think it like ensured that we had the birth that we wanted and that we had planned for.

Our first doula ended up going to school, so the second time around, we had to find someone.

We decided to go with Emilie, because she is someone who we trusted,

and we thought that she would help to make sure that our second baby got here safely.

Who's this for?

-Mommy. -For mommy?

-The biggest fear that I had, has to be the first child, and how much attention he gets.

Hopefully, we're able to balance them.

Beso para brother? [kissing sound]

Crocs off! What about socks?

-No!

Socks on?

-Sup, dude.

-Who you calling, dude? Me... A dude?

-Yes.

-Where did you learn that?

Are you tired? I'm tired, too.

In preparation for Jacob's arrival, Emilie hosted a blessingway.

-A blessingway is an ancient ceremony.

Different in essence from a babyshower, which is more focused on the baby.

This tradition is centered around the woman.

This is Christie's village; we are here to make her feel loved and nurtured for her upcoming birth.

-I think it's really powerful for me to be with women of color,

in solidarity with women of color, to have a doula who identifies as a woman of color,

and, like, what does it mean for our communities.

That it's not a thing that's just for upper-class white women.

- My job is revolutionary.

We grow up as women, we're terrified.

Everything that's in the media, in Hollywood is like this image of a mom in a wheelchair,

you know, screaming, and there's blood everywhere.

That's not what it looks like, at all. I have my clients watch births.

When we start changing this frame that we have,

we start thinking about birth differently.

-So if anything, was in the way of this baby getting here,

it was my own insecurity and my own fear about doing this a second time,

and I think to know I had the support of like all of these people I loved,

I think gave me the courage.

-I think she needed to see her community in action and to really release onto us,

in order for her body to, like, say it's okay to give birth.

-I think we left there and everybody was like, "Oh, this baby's coming this week."

-Mama!

-I know, bubby. Mommy's gonna go to work.

I got the call from Michael, who said that her water broke.

When I walked in, I noticed that she was on the couch holding a lot of tension in her body.

And, so I wanted to see a couple contractions first and see how she was coping with them.

Good job.

You're in between, right?

-Mhm

-You're not feeling one right now? -Mhm. -You are? OK.

You wanna relax as much as possible, let all that go.

It starts getting into a pattern, like regularly 10 minutes for an hour.

Regularly nine minutes for an hour. You know, down to two minutes apart, umm,

or one minute apart, and that's when you're fully dilated.

So, as soon as the pattern is established we go to the hospital.

-I was on the couch, like breathing through contractions, and Emilie's like,

"Are you comfortable here?" And I was like,

"Oh, maybe I'll lay on the bed a little while longer and see if I can just get some more rest

before, like, you know, we had to go…"

-The thought was, if I put her on the bed and have her,

like, you know, take it down a little, the contractions will slow down.

She can get a little shut eye, in between.

[screaming]

-Okay. Take a deep breath and go really low.

[breathing sounds]

-And a couple contractions into it, I noticed that she started making pushing sounds…

and that's when I was like "Um, Christie, what are you doing?"

And she was like, "I'm pushing." And I was like, "Don't do that."

-Don't push. Alright, mama.

-I can't help it.

-OK.

-Oh, shoot. -OK, OK, OK.

[moaning] Oh, no.

-Ok, take it.

-Oh, oh, my god.

-The bag's ready and the car's ready?

-Yes.

-OK. How far is the hospital from here?

-Thirty minutes.

-I was definitely scared because I had to decide, like, should I call 911?

And knowing Christie goes fast, I knew we weren't gonna make it.

And she doesn't have an elevator. All those things were going through my head —

like, I don't wanna have a baby in the stairs, I don't wanna have a baby in the car.

-Um, yeah, call an ambulance.

[moaning]

EMS was there, very fast. Walked in to kind of assess the situation—

they had never been to a birth before.

- You're doing good, baby, OK.

-And she's pushing already, so if we can wait—

-If we could deliver it here?

-Well, I think that's what she—

[moaning]

-Well, do you have experience delivering babies?

-Even though they had this amazing training, they didn't necessarily know what to do

other than if something went wrong. At that point, as a doula,

yes, we don't do anything medical, but sometimes we're the most qualified person in the room.

-I wasn't scared at any point of this process.

Saying it out loud sounds a bit odd to be like, "You're not scared?" But I wasn't scared.

I was a little shocked, that it was happening so fast.

-Her sister is here now, and she's a doctor.

-You got it, Christie, you got it.

[moaning]

- Breathe when you're ready. You got this honey, you got this.

-I just knew there was a lot of people in the room,

'cause I, like, could sense that there was a lot of people.

My eyes were closed most of the time... I was very much centered on the fact that, like,

this baby was coming.

People think somebody delivered your baby, and I don't think anybody's delivering my baby.

But somebody's catching my baby — I'm delivering my baby.

-OK.

-Good, mama.

-Good, strong, deep, deep.

-There you go, mama.

That's it, there you go.

Shoulder one! Come on! One more push... there we go!

Yes!

[laughing]

[baby crying]

You know, this is what OBs must feel like when they catch babies everyday.

It's that surge of adrenaline.

I definitely have a special place in my heart for all the babies

that I've helped get "earth-side," as we say. But, Jacob holds a special place.

Aww, Michael. Come here, I could be your doula, come here.

Honestly, I feel like it should be a right that all women

should be able to have doulas present, because that support is really necessary whatever that looks like.

And it looks different for every birth.

-Whoever delivered you, they did a good job, you're fine.

-We were talking earlier about like,

second-time moms maybe not feeling like doulas are as important as they are

, like, the first time.

And clearly, in our case, we would've been like totally, like, lost.

-We're all entitled to having women support women.

It's literally giving us an opportunity to feel encouraged to use the power that we have.

That, to me, is what doulas are about. It's not like anybody's giving you your power

— power belongs to us.
