happy first day of summer guys it is

currently snowing serene where has

popped out to the gym we have decided

that we're going to have to dark we've

decided we're going to have a barbecue

today even though it is still snowing

and I will cut to heel stones yeah and

so we're going to have his sister and

her kids over I am just kind of

preparing some and roast veggies and

quinoa and other side dishes it is kind

of fun quite mental eyesight and but

yeah we were going to go for a walk but

I don't think that that's going to be a

good idea because this is what it looks

like outside and I think we have a bit

of a screen shop situation going on

right now and over here as well like hi

dusty that is that suppose I want to see

something that I do not maybe clean it

have an excuse

yes I guess we've just been preoccupied

so it is pretty as we say in Scotland

Greek day it is raining in Foveon yuck

but we are stuck in I'm doing some

sewing projects for some of my friends

who recently had babies for are about to

have babies I have a whole load of

friends who are currently pregnant and

cousins and they are due around about

when we're getting married so I'm just

gonna kind of get organized right now

with present and make a whole lot of

stuff so that I'm ready to send out

Ingemar is off work at the moment

because he's pulled a muscle in his back

and so he is currently fighting boredom

lying on the living room floor and going

through all of Netflix

I think he's watched anything

zombie-related he even watched a

Bollywood movie yesterday and is now

onto some enemy I think he's just gone

through all the places where I've lived

before but anyway I will take you

through and show you what I'm working on

on the sewing machine so we have angle

right down here not focused there you go

so far I have a couple of cushions that

I have and some cute elephants and

animal patterns and in some stars and

then I've got a whole load of bunting

that I need to get some ribbon for and

sew that up

so yeah the moment baby boys so I need

to move on to the girl options

and since for any girls are born

I am currently sat outside a

hairdressers a Polish butcher sausage

shop and a bakery and I'm in a compote

car car won't start

I have no idea what's wrong with it and

I'm quite far from home and Ingemar

can't really come and get me because

well he has a contact back so I have no

idea what I'm doing um

his sister finishes work soon so I'm

hoping that she will be able to come

down and help me but at least is parked

in the milky spot so I can just leave it

here but this is the first time this has

happened to me in my driving career

expected

all right again yeah nope

it's not a happy Sonia I really just

have had enough of driving in this

country it happens in threes so on

Sunday night I had to do an emergency

stop on a roundabout because someone

just spilled out at the junction or at

the entrance to the rain debate as I was

coming round well yesterday I was going

up tank my sisters there was a car

accident because there's a t-junction

someone just pulled out and the entire

front of their car was just removed and

the police got there really quickly and

managed to clear the scene then everyone

was okay but then I ended up we were

diverted and I got totally lost and then

today I drove down the Main Street to

the pool and they got to the entrance of

the pool and it was cut off because they

were doing rod works but they hadn't put

any diversions or signs in place just

nonsense like I'd say I'm gonna do a

video on driving in mouseland

I should just fix a camera to the

dashboard and show you guys what it's

like me in the car are not on speaking

terms right now because I just had to

get a jump start from someone and which

I think I've managed to sort of sneak a

little film of because I don't know why

even did it anyway and so I've managed

to drive home and park up but there is a

cable that's worse like completely

broken off I don't even know what it's

for because it's all the way through it

card sorry that was like my sister just

checking them ok so what I was going to

say is that I had to ask 5 people before

I actually got a jump start which was

kind of quite surprising to me not

because they weren't willing to help

there was one person who said that he

was just too busy and but three other

people had electric cars and that's not

really a common thing I would've thought

for three or five people to have an

electric car well just putting some

thanks out there to that person who

actually helped me didn't have an

electric car we

and I asked the garage lovely car that

I'm currently not seeking - he's getting

mended just got home and there's another

person who's broken down so maybe it's

just a thing at the woman ah kind of too

much today

well in our family it's always something

exciting never a dull moment today we're

going to be hauling a speeder for a 15

narrow gauge railway unfortunately my

tire deflated well it was sitting here

on my trailer and most of the power of

the buildings is are off so I can't plug

in our big giant compressor well this

I've had this in the Box in the car for

a while waiting for a nice day out so I

could use the vacuum port to vacuum out

the car but one thing it also has is a

compressor and a flashlight so today

we're going to give the compressor

portion a try we've got this neat

two-way valve clamp on left one in onto

the side here the other end onto the

tire so let's put it on and see if it

will inflate this completely flat tire

no a rubber alone was strong enough with

no weight on the trail and make it look

like the trailer had arenít or the

tiger head air in it once we got way

down there we found out that's just not

the case so here we go

you

and that's it we took about three

minutes to get up to 30 psi from

completely flat Oh have a leaky valve

stem that's what our problem is cap on

there now that'd be good enough to get

us a couple miles home until I can renew

melts them in there but that would

explain why this hair keeps going play

so found out two things so that was not

too bad about three minutes goes from 0

to 30 p SI units cool to the touch not

that it's really too hot out here the

beginning and I mean it wasn't the

loudest compressor but when you're stuck

in an emergency you take what you can

get and the built in the pressure gauge

came in handy to the flashlights not too

bright but you know what when it's dark

out you don't need too bright you just

need enough to see what you're working

on which is basically trying to fill up

the tire with air so I will do another

video once i get to test out the vacuum

features which i really don't feel like

cleaning up the inside of the car just

yet so see y'all later if you are

see how well the actual vacuum works now

Car insurance model will not help energy market, says charity

Citizens Advice criticises Scottish Power proposal to scrap standard variable tariffs for product customers renew each year

An energy company's proposal to scrap default electricity and gas deals in favour of car insurance-

style annual renewals could amount to a rebranding exercise and not help billpayers, a consumer group has said.

Scottish Power, one of the big six energy suppliers,

said the Conservative election pledge to cap standard variable tariffs may harm competition.

Its chief corporate officer, Keith Anderson,

instead urged the government to take the "bold move" of abolishing the deals in favour of a product that needs renewing each year.

"Just as you insure your car every year and go to the market for the best deal for you,

so every energy customer should engage with the market at least once a year to make sure they are on the best deal for them,"

he said on Wednesday.

But charity Citizens Advice said the idea could, in practice, amount to a rebadging of standard variable tariffs,

which households default to at the end of better value fixed-term deals.

"Setting targets to get loyal customers on to cheaper fixed deals would be a helpful step for suppliers to take,"

said the charity's chief executive, Gillian Guy. "But questions remain about what happens to customers' bills when those deals end.

"Just abolishing the standard variable tariff could end up with it being recreated in all but name

as the more expensive tariff that people are automatically rolled on to at the end of their fixed term."

1.5m EDF customers face a second price hike from June

Anderson had suggested that all households be moved to fixed deals by the end of 2019,

with price caps imposed on any companies that failed to meet this deadline.

Five of the big six have increased standard variable tariffs in recent months, with EDF raising them twice,

prompting ministers to promise to save 17 million families £100 a year through a price cap.

Scottish Power's alternative proposal, similar to one previously put to the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) by British Gas,

received a warmer reception from analysts, personal finance experts and comparison sites.

Martin Lewis, the founder of Money Saving Expert, said an annual "call to action"

could increase engagement in the market for the two-thirds of people on standard variable tariffs.

"I don't think structurally this would be much different – the key is to make it behaviourally different," he said.

Jon Ferris, the strategy director at Utilitywise, said the idea was an "interesting alternative",

but doubted that annual renewal letters would increase consumer engagement.

Customers who did not renew would end up on worse value default deals, he said,

potentially returning the market to where it is now. "Does there then need to be some sort of of control on what that price can be?

And you're then back to some sort of regulatory price setting," Ferris said.

Robert Buckley, an analyst at energy consultancy Cornwall,

said the proposal was "definitely worthy of serious consideration" and could lead to more engagement from billpayers.

Comparison sites, which have a business model dependent on competition and people switching,

said the Scottish Power idea was far better than a price cap.

Mark Todd of energyhelpline said: "I think this could be a big step in the right direction.

The car insurance market is much more dynamic than energy, which this idea would mimic."

Claire Osborne of uSwitch said it was crucial that the renewal letters were clear enough to trigger action from people

"This would help and be a step in [the] right direction, but on its own is not enough.

All the CMA remedies would still need to be implemented to make it a good alternative to intervention [price caps]."

On Wednesday, the energy retail and generation businesses of Scottish Power, owned by Spain's Iberdrola,

posted a 73% fall in earnings before interest and tax to £47m in the first quarter.

Although the retail business modestly increased customer numbers to 5.5 million,

earnings dropped to £81m, which the company blamed on increases in non-energy costs and mild weather.

ScottishPower has the smallest percentage customers on standard variable tariffs among the big energy suppliers.

How To Polish Your Car Properly - Mustang GT - Chemical Guys Car Care - Duration: 8:40.

This actually looks pretty good.

Today in the Detail Garage as you can see we still have this Mustang.

We started off by washing it to remove the road grime and debris that was sitting on

the surface and now we're going to clay it because as we were washing it we could tell

that there were some grime and debris that was stuck in the pores of the paint and if

you listen to it, that rough sound is contamination that has embedded the surface and it makes

it difficult for new glazes, sealants or waxes to bond to.

Also there are some minor scratches and swirls in this paintwork that we are going to address

but before any polish job you'll want to clay it because that will make for a perfect result

and also it will restore the perfect shine.

To get started we're going to clay it.

I have a Light Clay Bar set up over here.

As you can see I've kneaded it up into a small paddy and this is because whenever you use

a clay bar you are only using two or three fingers.

So it is only going to cover the surface of about three fingers and we're going to work

it back and forth using our Clay Luber.

What I like to do is, I'll spray the luber on the surface, the bar and my hand because

this is very sticky that will get stuck on the surface as well as on yourself.

Working back and forth using fairly light pressure, you don't want to scrub too hard.

It'll start off sounding kind of rough or it'll drag but as you pull contamination out

of the paintwork it'll get smoother and that is how you know it is time to move on.

The great thing about clay is you can use it on paintwork, glass, plastic and more.

As you can see this car has a two tone paint job, this is actually a vinyl wrap.

In areas like here above the windshield you can see this black line, when you drive dirt

and contamination flies up on the windshield and it gets stuck in this ridge here so using

the clay bar and luber.

I'll spray the surface and work back and forth to pull off all this grime and embedded debris

to revive the perfect shine.

You can see I'm claying the vinyl stripes, this is going to help promote longevity to

the vinyl because things that have embedded in the vinyl can actually deteriorate it and

cause it to crack or fade over time.

So I'm going to continue this process over the rest of this vehicle that way we can get

into the polishing steps.

As you see we just finished off the clay bar process and after wiping off the surface it

is totally smooth.

I'll give you guys a little test.

All the contamination has been pulled out of the surface and now it is super slick which

means it is ready to be polished.

I've also taped off the stripes because as I mentioned in the previous video, this is

a vinyl stripe in between the paint and since I didn't apply the stripe and I'm unsure of

the quality of the material I don't want to peel or tear the stripes.

So by taping it this is a precaution to insure it won't peel or tear off.

Now we're going to move on to the polishing process, over here I have our TORQ X with

a White Hex-Logic Pad.

Place it on the machine as centered as possible.

The reason I've gone with a white pad is because I want a light polish since this vehicle only

has light scratches and swirls we don't need to be very aggressive.

That is also why we're using Slick Finish, this is a cleaner wax that has micro abrasives

that takes care of minor scratches and swirls while leaving behind a protective layer of

wax for gloss and protection.

To get started we already have the pad on the machine next I'll shake up the bottle

to mix everything together to achieve the perfect combination of wax and abrasiveness.

Now I'll apply five dime sized dots to the pad.

I'll also spray the pad with Pad Conditioner to add lubrication to the pad which reduces

friction which prevents marring and also it helps lubricate the polish because polish

has a break down time and if it goes dry from an excessively hot pad it won't give you the

same results that you are looking for and it can cause marring or burning.

We'll start by blotching it out in this small section, I'll work in a foot by foot area.

Now we'll spread it out on the lowest speed setting and when we are ready we'll bump it

up to the high speed setting which is what we use for polishing.

Once your polish has gone clear just take a clean microfiber towel and buff off the excess.

Working back and forth in straight lines will prevent adding swirls to your freshly polished

paint job.

Check that out, beautiful metallic shine.

I'm going to repeat this process to the rest of this Mustang to get the perfect shine.

For those of you who are new to polishing you may have noticed that I am working back

and forth in straight lines covering about fifty percent of my last pass, this is to

get a uniform shine and it is also removing scratches and swirls to give you the ultimate

reflective gloss.

Also something that a lot of new guys or newcomers to polishing do is, whether it be a rotary

or dual action, is rush.

They hustle because they want to get the most shine as quick as possible but you have to

be patient when it comes to paint correction because think about it, you're pulling off

a very fine layer of paint and if you work too fast the paint will burn, mar or create

holograms.

So take your time to restore that high shine.

One last thing we're going to do is hand polish in between these stripes because a lot of

guys ask us how do you hand polish.

So using a microfiber applicator with Slick Finish we'll get in between these smaller

more intricate areas.

A lot of guys want to know if you can or should polish your whole car by hand, you can but

you need to have arms like Hulk Hogan.

That thing looks good.

Well guys we're wrapping up the week long Mustang detail.

We started off by washing it and today we clayed it to remove the embedded impurities

and polishing it with Slick Finish restore the perfect shine while layering down some

protection.

I'm taking the exit off the Autobahn and on my right, there's the exit from the other direction.

I stopped, looked and it was clear.

And in the moment I started accelerating, I saw a Mercedes speeding around the corner and thought "Oh now I gotta step on the gas".

Man that guy was fast! Nobody expects that!

And of course he started to flash his lights and tailgated me.

And at the next traffic lights, he thought he had to show off or whatever.

Or maybe he's always driving like that because he has a really small penis.

I don't know.

I was afraid again.

He flushes into the flowing traffic.
