X Factor SHOCK as Olympic Medallist auditions: 'Stick to what you're good at'

Back before he showed off his gymnastic prowess on the pommel horse, the 28-year-old decided to give the opportunity to be an international recording artist a go in the 2008 series.

Taking to the stage in front of Simon Cowell, Dannii Minogue, Louis Walsh and the artist formerly known as Cheryl Cole, a short-haired Louis belted out a very off-key version East 17s If You Ever in the arena auditions.

But the multi-talented Louis, who was runner-up on Channel 4s The Jump and winner of Strictly Come Dancing, found singing was not his strong suit.

Cheryl told the future Olympic medallist: I think youre a really nice guy, I think you look great, but I think you should come back after 2012.. BELTER: But Louis wasnt much of a singer.

Is it worth coming back? he asked. But while Cheryl wanted to give Louis a chance post-2012, Simon was quicker to condemn the singing hopeful.

No, Louis, its not, he said bluntly. Your voice isnt good enough, and I dont think it will ever be good enough. Id say just stick to do what youre brilliant at doing.

UNIMPRESSED: Simon wasnt too pleased.

GUTTED: Louis was turned down by Simon. For you to achieve what youve achieved at your age is incredible.

Im giving you an opinion, good luck for 2012. Of course, we all know Louis went on to smash the Olympics by scoring one bronze and one silver model at the London Olympics.

But imagine what could have been if Louis was the 2008 X Factor champion? The X Factor starts on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd at 8pm on ITV.

Hello my name is Michael Werner and I'm the Project Scientist for the Spitzer Space

Telescope. I've been asked to answer the question – "Can we talk with Spitzer as

long as we've talked to Voyager - which is 40 years - and where will Spitzer be in

a 100 years?" The short answer to that question is in principle we could talk to Spitzer after

40 years but it is unlikely that we will be able to do so. This is sort of illustrated

by this picture which shows the orbit of Spitzer and this is the Earth, this is the Sun, and

with time relative to the Earth, Spitzer has been drifting away and right now it is out

about here. So from this picture we can see that it will take about 50 years for Spitzer

to go all the way around but right at the moment we're only planning to continue to

communicate with it for maybe 3 or 4 more years at which point as Spitzer continues

to move we're going to kind of lose track of where it is, and wouldn't quite know

where to look when we wanted to recover it and talk to it 40 years from now. In addition

we're not totally confident that the hardware on Spitzer will survive that long in the harsh

space environment, although Voyager of course has in fact survived for 40 years. For the

second part of the question - Where will Spitzer be in 100 years? It takes it about 50 years

to go around this circle so in 50 years it'll come back close to the Earth and then in another

50 years it'll be close to the Earth again, but as I said I don't think we will be talking

to it then. So I think our best strategy is to work well with Spitzer until the mission

comes to an end in the next 4 or 5 years and then wish her adieu and farewell as she continues

to orbit the Sun just as the Earth does. Thank you.

Arsene Wenger in £90m Thomas Lemar offer as Gunners final get serious | Arsenal FC News Now transfer - Duration: 1:49.

Arsenal have lodged a surprise £90million offer for Monaco winger Thomas Lemar.

The Gunners have been trailing 21-year-old for much of the summer and have had three

bids rejected.

Emirates boss Arsene Wenger had claimed the deal was 'dead'.

But it is now very much alive.

Liverpool, who also had a £57.4million offer rebuffed, were also keen on Lemar.

Should Wenger's side clinch the deal, Alexis Sanchez's move to Manchester City would get

given the green light, reports the Mirror.

City tabled a second bid for the Chilean international at lunchtime after having their opening gambit

of £50million rejected by the Gunners yesterday.

It is understood that the increased offer – which will see City pay £55million up

front and another £5million in add-ons – is deemed acceptable by Arsenal.

But the London club are waiting to see if their £90million offer for Lemar is accepted

before doing a deal with the Manchester club.

Danny Ings hailed as "big influence" as Liverpool striker regains sharpness

Liverpool U23s manager Neil Critchley has hailed the "big influence" of Danny Ings as the striker works his way back to fitness and sharpness.

Ings suffered his second serious knee injury in as many seasons last term, ensuring a layoff that kept him out of action for 10 months.

But the 25-year-old has now returned to the fold, turning out for the Reds' U23s side on three occasions so far in 2017/18, scoring in August's 2-0 win away to Swansea City.

His most recent outing came against Arsenal at Boreham Wood, playing his first full 90 minutes since being sidelined last October. Assessing Ings' performance in that 2-1 victory, Critchley praised his work ethic, and the example he sets his younger team-mates.

"What summed up his performance for us was in the 93rd minute of the game he was back in the left-back position making tackles and winning free-kicks for us," he told LiverpoolFC. com.

"That sums Danny up as a person and as a footballer.

"He integrates brilliantly with the staff and the players and he sees himself as part of the team, and you can feel that. He is a big influence on the young players around him.

"Don't forget, Danny is still only 25 himself so he has got a lot of years left in the game. But he does take on that senior role and he is very good at it.".

Ultimately, however, Ings will be targeting a first-team role, having stayed with the Reds amid rumours of a loan move at the end of the summer transfer window.

Ings failed to feature for Jurgen Klopp's side throughout pre-season, despite travelling with the squad to Munich for the Audi Cup, but is clearly part of the German's plans this season.

Critchley believes it is only a matter of time before Ings recaptures the spark required to perform at senior level.

"He has had a torrid time through injuries but he has been a pleasure to be around in the short time I've had in his company," he added.

"He has gradually built up his fitness, built up his minutes and the more he plays the more confident and sharper he will become. "He had one or two opportunities at Arsenal that I think in a few weeks' time he will put away.

Given Divock Origi and Ryan Kent both left on loan deals on deadline day, and the Reds failed to secure the signing of Thomas Lemar, there may be opportunities for Ings in the near future.

It will be difficult for the forward to catch up with the likes of Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino, but he certainly has the attitude required.

Hello everyone! Did you know that Milk can be good for your

garden and use of milk in gardening can work as a fertilizer and help get rid of plant

diseases like powdery mildew and viruses. To know more about this and the exact recipe

to use in gardening, Stay tuned�

Firstly, we shall talk about the benefits of milk in gardening and then in the end about

the recipe and how to use it on your plants. 1. Firstly, its use as a FERTILIZER � Milk

contains calcium, beneficial proteins, vitamin B and sugars that are good for plants, improving

their overall health and crop yields. 2. Used as a quick remedy for Blossom End

Rot (BER) commonly seen in tomato and pepper and spraying milk on the plant leaves helps

a lot � that�s called foliar feeding. This Blossom end rot is due to lack of calcium

either in the soil or a defect in the plant system to uptake calcium from soil.

3. Milk has been used as an effective antifungal agent, specially in the prevention of powdery

mildew.

4. Milk has been used in pesticide applications, especially for aphids. And also milk has been

effective in reducing the transmission of mosaic leaf viruses such as tobacco mosaic.

There are certain drawbacks of using milk in garden, like:

1. Excessive use of milk can help harmful bacteria to multiply and spoil the plant producing

a foul odour and then poor plant growth. 2. Rarely it can induce plant rot and some

leaf spots if used inadvertently.

But, whatever, the benefits are a good thing for us in gardening. SO lets learn how to

correctly use the milk in garden.

It�s a simple formula � just two points on this:

- If it's skim milk, you can pour or spray it directly onto your plant's leaves - this

is called foliar feeding. The leaves will absorb the milk solution.

- Secondly to be on the safer side, use 50 percent Milk + 50% Water and spray on the

plants foliage. Now the question is How often you can do this

� the answer is � use of milk monthly once is recommended. And for plants already

suffering from blossom end rot problem, along with this quick remedy, you can also used

calcium nitrate spray, egg shell powder in soil, bone meal powder and also garden lime

in soil. -

- Thirdly � one Gardening Hack to use this milk solution : You can pour the milk solution

around the base of the plants where the roots will gradually absorb the milk especially

for smaller gardens.

The gardening hack here is: Place the top portion of a 1or 2-liter bottle containing

milk solution (upside down) in the soil next to the plant. This makes an excellent hack

to offer both water and milk feed to your plants.

Lastly 2 more TIPS: - 1. When you are finished with your milk

container, before you wash it out, fill it with water and shake it and water your plants

- 2. Do not spray any form of chemical pesticide or chemical fertilizer after applying milk

fertilizer. This can affect the useful ingredients in milk that actually help the plants� that�s
