Gias Uddin Taheri would not be good practice | Taheri is a hypocrite | Can not believe Taheri - Duration: 4:05.
Gias Uddin Taheri occasionally uploads
the video and promises that he will not do such hypocrisy.
Pray for forgiveness for all the wrongdoings he has done in the past.
Gias Uddin Taheri further says,
"If those who are in the path of Islam,
would have guided me,
I would not have done this in the name of Zikir.
But whenever he gets the atmosphere of his old habits,
then he is busy with dance and singing as before.
Because the habit is not changing any day.
Muhammad (peace be upon him) said,
If you hear that the mountains have turned into the sea or have turned into the sea, believe it.
But do not believe that a man's habit has changed.
Gias Uddin Taheri can be likened to the shepherd,

Amazing Vancouver: can you put it on a map? - Duration: 8:30.
Hello, hello everybody!
CIAO A TUTTI, I am Alessia and this one here is Emanuele
hello I hope you can see me!
This is our first video from Vancouver, Canada
British Columbia
this is where we live, we are two Italian guys
SIAMO ITALIANI!
we want to show you Vancouver and Canada for what we see
and we hope you can discover Vancouver with us
yeah we are here for work and this is first
for our family and then for anybody that
wants to join
Anyway, this is...just so you know
this is False Creek
if you go all the way to the right
all the way down down down...
it's Pacific Ocean so this, where we are
here now is the main part of Vancouver's city centre.
We will probably put a map here. what do you think?
I don't know, maybe!
Yeah, why not!!!
VABBÈ...
We are on the Seawall now
This is one of the...I think it's one of the longest
walkable seawall...
They walk on this side and run... there are so many people running
and on the other side of it, right there... you cycle
but you cannot...I mean you cannot go on the other side because people will...
...run you over.
...be very upset if you do that.
oh here's a map! Look! So you are here
we are here
this is David Lam Park, the park over here
and so this is False Creek as I said
Here...
False Creek here
this is central Vancouver and here the north
side, you can see there are mountains, North Vancouver area and here
Kitsilano, Fairview...
And here it goes out to the Pacific Ocean.
It's May,
it's been a very cold cold May...
Apparently it's the coldest winter of almost ever...
We had snow and they normally don't get snow...so yeah.Anyway let's walk!
Oh! We didn't say that we're from Rome! SIAMO DI ROMA...just so you know...
I hope people will not complain too much that we don't speak perfect English...
I'm sorry about our strong accent
but this is our accent, and we don't care!
I hope I'm recording this because...
COME NO! CE MANCHEREBBE SOLO CHE NON HAI REGISTRATO TUTTA STA COSA...
Ehm...I just bought a new camera...
So we are going towards Yaletown
Where?
Yaletown neighborhood
You can see people take training very seriously and health...
Yes and we do as well. AHAHAH! Anyway, we're going near the dock, one of the main docks
of boats...and...
It's a very nice area and yeah, lots of restaurants, places to be, shops, and we like it
very much here
[Random shouts from the dragon boat]
I think they're training for the Dragonboat Race of this summer
Yeah...
I told you they take it seriously.
That's called Aquabus
And this one is especially big
It's the brand the "Aquabus"...
especially big because this one can carry bicycles to the other side; the smaller boats can't
As you can see, bikes and humans
cannot share the same path...
Humans...and...Robots!
And that one is Cambie Bridge
a bridge that links downtown to...
basically the southern part of Vancouver
FA PROPRIO FREDDO RAGAZZI
It's still pretty cold
Today there were 23 centimeters of snow in Grouse Mountain
that is a mountain that is not so far from here...
23 degrees...sorry...centimeters of snow! In one day in May!
It's nuts!
And this is my boat... of course...! yes....ahah...
So this is... the Marina...
That one is one of the biggest boats, so cool...
It's not a boat, how do you call that?
A yacht
UN PANFILO, UN PANFILO!
...and this is Yaletown Marina
Here there's an amazing pizzeria-gelateria
that we can recommend to any Italian person coming to Vancouver
and non-Italian, of course! It's called "Bella Gelateria"
It's right there. Can you see?
It's a little bit far...
AH VABBÈ...
There! And the ice cream is really good
and the pizza is Neapolitan style
Nice pizza...
so hard to find a good pizza in Canada
...we make our own...
You can find...
a lot of Japanese restaurants,
Oh my gosh so many Japanese restaurants
that makes me very happy
because I'm a "Japan freak" and my husband is too...
If you like Japan, here you can find anything you can find in Tokyo
Well...not everything...!
Not everything but...
...more than in Italy or more than in the UK...
CI VEDIAMO LA PROSSIMA VOLTA!
Ciaoooooooo!!!
Ciao Ciao!

Why Democrat Jeff Erdmann Thinks He Can Win in MN CD2- Interview Highlights - Duration: 3:58.
When you see the number of losses that the democratic party has, you change approaches,
you change strategies.
And so, the strategy of having the multimillionaire out there and raising all kinds of money 'cause
they've got all kinds rich friends, and that type of thing,
that hasn't gone very well for us.
The democrats have lost the US House, the US Senate, the presidency.
66% of our states, Republicans hold the majority in both chambers in those states.
That's two-thirds.
So we need a different approach, and I think our party needs a more authentic approach.
If we are truly going to be the party that says that we are for the working class people
and we want to be that working voice to represent their interests, well then we should be able
to have candidates that come from those working class values, that live it on a day-to-day
basis for years and years.
I'm coming from a situation where I have chosen to have a career of service.
I'm serving the communities, the families in my communities.
And people that want to go do research on me, they can go into New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva,
Cannon Falls, Winona, and Rosemount and ask, "What's this guy like?
Is this guy a good guy?
Is he fair?
Does he do his job well?
Does he work hard?
Does he treat people with respect?"
They can go learn about me.
And I think the more that people do that, I think the more that's gonna help in our
bid to get where we need to get to.
There's a reason I'm doing this, because I think that I'm a better candidate than Angie Craig.
I think the voters of district CD2, I think they deserve to have competition.
Last go around, Angie (inaudible), self-funded a big chunk.
This is what happens in politics, is that you see wealthy people come in and they can
write a big check for themselves to loan themselves money, and then competition goes away and
in a sense, they have no competition and they get the endorsement.
I don't think that's good for the democratic process.
When Stuart Mills goes and tries to buy an election, when Betsy DeVos tries to go and
buy a seat as Secretary of Education, I don't think that's okay.
And when other candidates try to do that, I don't think that's okay.
Especially when you're trying to represent the Democratic Party, which is supposed to
be kind of against the influence of big money and trying to buy and lessen or reduce, the
voice of the people.
This last trimester I had a couple students make the comment that the United States, the
whole purpose of our country, is for us to make as much money as possible.
And I said, "Whoa, no, no, no, no.
That's not what our country's about.
That's selfish."
They shared with me the next day, they brought in a letter, and they didn't like that I referred
to that stance as being selfish.
And then they had some quotes from Adam Smith's 'The Wealth of Nations', which promotes the
business perspective quite a bit.
We arranged a time to meet, and I went and got some other excerpts from 'The Wealth of
Nations' that talked about greed, talked about the need for regulation, the role of regulation
of government to have a balanced society, and we had some conversation about that.
And then I also talked to them about ... Showed them the Declaration of Independence and the
Constitution, and we talked about where in there, go and find how many times capitalism
is mentioned.
And it's not.
We talked about 'The Wealth of Nations' was published in 1776 and that's kind of a magical
day, and so it wasn't that that influenced our country.
But the big concern and fear from this is students watch what's happening in society,
and they think, "Oh, America's about climbing to the top.
And whatever you have to do to the people down here to get to the top, that's what our
country's about."
I don't think that's what our country is about, and I'm hoping that there's other Americans
that think the same way.

#Arsenal and Chelsea must spend big or they can kiss goodbye to their title chances - Duration: 8:04.
Arsenal and Chelsea must spend big or they can kiss goodbye to their title chances
SIR ALEX FERGUSON always said you have to strengthen when you are at your strongest. If his Manchester United side won the Premier League, Fergie used to sign two or three top players in the summer just to freshen things up.
Chelsea have lost six of last seasons title-winning squad this summer.
Alvaro Morata missed his spot-kick at Wembley. That is how you stay at the top for a sustained period of time.
At Blackburn, when we won the title in 1995, we did not strengthen and were made to pay with a seventh-place finish the following year. I fear Chelsea might have made the same mistake this summer.
Yes, they have signed some good players in Alvaro Morata, Antonio Rudiger and Tiemoue Bakayoko, but they started yesterday's Community Shield without any of them.
And they have also let six of last season's title-winning squad leave, including John Terry and Nemanja Matic, with Diego Costa seemingly soon to join them. There is no doubt they look short, which showed in yesterday's penalty shootout defeat to Arsenal.
Antonio Conte is short of signings this summer.
Chelsea star Eden Hazard will miss the start of the season with injury. What doesn't help is the fact that their best player, Eden Hazard, is set to miss the start of the season due to a fractured ankle.
Chelsea have 13 or 14 very good players who will match anyone. But with Champions League football this season, they are going to need more than that if they want to compete on all fronts.
They would need a lot of luck with injuries to get through the campaign and be successful with the squad they have at the moment.
I think they still need at least two or three new additions between now and the end of the transfer window.
With last season's top scorer Costa set to depart, how the Blues fare this year will also largely depend on the form of Morata and Michy Batshuayi.
Neither were particularly impressive at Wembley and, when Costa does go, they will be the only two recognised central strikers at the club.
Alan Shearer has major doubts over Chelsea and Arsenals title chances. Mark Clattenburg speaks at half-time of Arsenal vs Chelsea Community Shield clash with viewers left in shock and awe at his voice.
Arsenal and Chelsea pay tribute to the Grenfell fire victims ahead of the Community Shield at Wembley.
The Blues paid a lot of money for Batshuayi last summer and he had a positive end to the season, which should stand him in good stead this time around.
But it's still a big ask for him or Morata — whose confidence was hardly helped by missing a penalty in yesterday's shootout — to replace the goals Costa has scored for Chelsea in the past three years.
I also really don't understand why they sold Matic. One, they've let him go when Bakayoko is not yet fit. And two, they have let him join a title rival.
Away from Chelsea's woes, I am no more optimistic about Arsenal's hopes this season. It's nice for them that they won yesterday — another trophy following their FA Cup success over the same opposition in May.
But I still don't think it gives them any advantage, psychological or otherwise, over Chelsea in the league.
Alan Shearer doesnt know why Chelsea sold Nemanja Matic to title rivals.
Arsenal have only made two major summer additions to their squad. And it will hardly stop any criticism that will come towards manager Arsene Wenger and Arsenal if they stutter midway through the season.
One positive I think they can take from the Wembley game is the performance of Alexandre Lacazette. He looked sharp, his link-up play was good and the ball stuck to him.
The Frenchman will give them something different this season, going in behind, with a bit of pace. But Lacazette and yesterday's goalscorer, Sead Kolasinac, are their only two signings this summer.
That is not enough for the Gunners if they want to be challenging for the title, which is ultimately what their supporters want.
It is also going to be interesting to see how the situation regarding Alexis Sanchez plays out. Arsene is adamant that his star man is staying.
But if you are the Arsenal board, and you see that a player worth more than £50million could leave for nothing next summer, that must be very hard to take.
New boy Alexandre Lacazette had a solid game at Wembley.
Arsenal new signing Sead Kolasinac has also impressed in pre-season. Still, even if Sanchez does stay, I don't see Arsenal winning the league.
They will have their brilliant moments again, as they have had for a long time. But I don't see them being able to sustain that for a whole season.
Watching on this summer, it looks like there might have been a power shift from London to Manchester. We talk about Chelsea and Arsenal not strengthening enough but last season's second-placed side Tottenham have not signed anyone yet.
They fell short last year yet they have done nothing to try to rectify that.
Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has vowed his side will dip into the transfer market this summer. Meanwhile, both Manchester United and Manchester City have splashed out millions to try to wrestle the title back.
City hired Pep Guardiola to win the Champions League and the Premier League, so he has to claim some silverware this season. And I think they will be battling it out with United for the title come May.

How hackers can steal your passwords over Wi-Fi—and how to stop them - Duration: 3:50.
Hi, I'm Natalie, and I'm about to get my email account hacked.
Ethically!
Yes, ethically hacked.
For science!
So, what I'm going to show you today is a type of man-in-the-middle attack called
"SSL stripping."
SSL is a layer of encryption used between the client and major websites.
That's the "S" in HTTPS, right?
Correct.
But actually I'm going to trick your computer into using HTTP instead, which is unencrypted,
so when you log into your email, you're actually sending the password in clear text,
and I'm picking it up with this.
But won't the website know that there's something wrong if I'm sending my password
in plain text instead of encrypted?
Well that's the fun part, you're actually sending it to me in plain text, and I'm
sending it to the website encrypted.
Neither of you will know there's a man in the middle.
So, show me how it works then.
Sure.
Is your VPN off?
Yup, VPN is off.
Because this attack only works when VPN is off.
So firstly, I'm going to search for your computer on the wireless network, which you
are connected to.
And as you see, this is your computer right here.
Wow.
Now I run the attack.
So now please log in to your email account.
Okay.
So as you can see, when you typed in your credentials and pressed enter, you can see
that the device picked up the credentials and here is your password.
Oh my!
Not a great password I guess.
Well it doesn't matter how it good it was because I have it now.
And if you're the kind of person who tends to reuse their passwords…
Oh boy.
I'm definitely going to have to change my password.
So does this same attack work on other sites?
Yeah.
Shopping websites, cloud storage, online banking, you name it!
Wow.
Was this equipment expensive?
Was it hard to figure out how to use it?
Well that's the scary part.
This bit caught maybe twenty bucks, and the software is free and open source.
Even a smart kid can do it.
Yikes!
Okay, can you unhack it now?
Now earlier you said the VPN had to be turned off.
What would happen if my VPN was turned on?
Great question!
Just turn it on and let's find out.
OK.
So I can still see your computer here.
As you can see, this is your computer right here.
But when I run the attack, I'm just stuck at the listening screen.
So you can't see any traffic at all, even when I try to log in.
None.
Because your online activity is being sent through the secure VPN servers instead of
to me, so there's just nothing for me to read here.
Amazing!
So, Samet, would you say that it's always a good idea to have your VPN turned on?
Pretty much, especially when you're on public Wi-Fi, you'd be crazy not to protect yourself.
Alright, well thank you so much, Samet.
Thank you, thanks for having me.

Arsenal vs Chelsea: Martin Keown reckons Gunners can win Premier League if they continue to - Duration: 5:06.
Arsenal vs Chelsea: Martin Keown reckons Gunners can win Premier League if they continue to show street fighting skills
MARTIN KEOWN believes Arsene Wenger now has a team of angry street fighters.
And the Arsenal legend says if the standards they set against Chelsea in the FA Cup final are used as the benchmark for this season, then Premier League glory will be theirs.
Arsenal beat Chelsea in the FA Cup final after a poor season in the league.
Martin Keown believes his former side rediscovered their fighting spirit. Arsenal's 2-1 win at Wembley in May was so impressive that Keown insists it was their best performance for YEARS.
As the Gunners face Chelsea today in a rematch of that final at Wembley in the Community Shield, Keown is optimistic this could be THE season they end what will be a 14-year duck without the title.
He told SunSport: "I looked at that cup final and the players looked like street fighters. There was an anger, a competitiveness and a determination that I had not seen for many years. I was stunned by it.
"The Arsenal fans were vociferous and you could see they had their team back again. "It looked real, they were battling for everything.
"Whatever he said to the players in the way they prepared, that has got to be the preparation ahead of every game now.
Keown was a notoriously robust centre-back.
Arsenal used to combine skill with steel with Keown among several tough stars.
"The players must be at their best, they have to be at boiling point. "It should not just be for a one-off final. It should be like that for every game of the season.
"Anything less is not good enough. "And if he can create that mood and feeling throughout the group and the new signings gel then they have a real chance of winning the Premier League.
Keown thinks Arsenal can fight their way to the title. Former Arsenal defender Sol Campbell shares his video of Arsenal lifting the FA Cup.
Inspirational skipper Patrick Vieira led by example. But Keown has warned that Arsenal cannot afford players such as Mesut Ozil to go missing in games – something he was accused of last season.
And Keown warned that true street fighters turn up every day – not just when they feel like it.
He added: "You can't do it giving it half tilt , you have to give everything – and that includes Ozil, Alexis Sachez, the whole lot. "Against Chelsea, the big man, Per Mertesacker came in and played in that back three.
'He was only able to do that because he had the energy around him to protect him to use his know-how. "It was a complete performance from him – and that is what they're going to need this season.
Arsenal 2-1 Chelsea : Chelsea fail to do the double as Arsenal win the FA Cup at Wembley.
"Even had Arsenal lost, it was the first time I had seen for years where they gave a complete performance – everyone ticking the right boxes.
"I was seeing players put tackles in, be physical, compete, scrap. And I wanted to see the beauty too and there was plenty of that on the day.
"It was how the team was fired up and if Wenger can get them in that mood – in street fighter mode every game, not just when they decide to be one.
"Arsenal fans will want to see early signs – including in the Community Shield game against Chelsea – that their team will be in the running to win the Premier League.
Aaron Ramsey is not afraid to scrap for the ball.
Arsenal have been accused of going soft in recent years.
Chelsea were unable to compete with the Gunners at Wembley.
Martin Keown won three league titles with the Gunners. In-limbo Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez kisses the Arsenal badge during training session.
Keown does believe the Europa League can hinder them – but insists it is vital that Wenger goes full-pelt at trying to win the tournament.
He added: "I don't like Thursday night football - it's almost got to saturation point. It's a night where we should all be recharging our batteries and looking forward to the weekend games. "As a player, it just feels disorientating.
"When we played in the European Cup Winners' Cup back in the day, when no one gave a hoot about rest, and then played Saturday, it was probably our worst finish in the Premier League that I could remember.
"So it does have an affect. It does seem to put you behind. You're always playing catch-up on everyone else – you're always playing afterwards.
"You can't afford to make mistakes and Arsenal will be in it to win it and there is no reason why they can't as it's a backdoor route to the Champions League.
"In sport, you're either a champion or not. They should want to hear that Champions League music ring out at the Emirates every month. "That should be your one and only desire to do that.
Chelsea star Pedro taken off with head injury after being clattered by Arsenal keeper David Ospina. Keep up to date with all the latest transfer news and gossip with our live blog.

However, as unbelievable as it may sound, but is the case with plenty of self-made entrepreneurs,
Branson had poor academic performance.
He attended Stowe School, an independent school in Buckinghamshire until the age of sixteen.
While attending school, many of Branson's teachers considered him to be a bit slow and
lazy.
He was, in fact, dyslexic and admits that by age 8 he still couldn't read and was
hopeless in math and sciences.
As British schools worship the sportsman, Branson realized that he needed to channel
his energy into doing well on the field.
Before Branson left school, headmaster Robert Drayson said to him, 'You'll either go
to prison or become a millionaire'.
You know what?
That headmaster was onto something.
Instead of feeling sorry for himself and seeing himself like one big failure, Branson recognized
his weaknesses but also recognized his strengths – his ability to make things happen.
6 – Always be bold
Branson expressed his desire to become an entrepreneur at a young age.
At the age of sixteen, his first business venture was a magazine called Student.
Later on, Branson started his record business from an old manor where he ran the magazine.
Whenever Branson saw a need for something in the market, he asked, why shouldn't he
do it?
Branson advertised popular records in his magazine, and the new business was an overnight
success.
Trading under the name "Virgin", Branson sold records for considerably less than the traditional
record stores.
Branson once said, "There is no point in starting your own business unless you do it out of
a sense of frustration."
The name "Virgin" was suggested by one of Branson's early employees because they were
all new at business.
Another example of his boldness is how he entered the airline industry.
Branson's first successful entry into the airline industry was during a trip to Puerto
Rico.
He formed Virgin Atlantic Airways in 1984, after his flight was cancelled.
He decided to charter his own plane the rest of the way and offer a ride to the rest of
the stranded passengers for a fee of $39 in order to cover the cost.
After that, he received a proposal to establish a transatlantic service to compete with British
Airways and he couldn't resist the opportunity.
Against the better judgment of his advisers, he called Boeing in Seattle and negotiated
to lease a 747 for a year, 'just to see' if the whole idea would work.
Virgin Atlantic was soon a reality, although it almost never got off the ground.
On the inaugural flight, a flock of birds flew into one of the uninsured engines, ruining
it at a cost of 600,000 pounds!
This brought the company over its credit line, and it came close to being bankrupt.
Only an emergency recall of cash from Virgin's overseas operations got everything through.
5 – Do the opposite
Earning enough money from his record store, Branson launched the record label Virgin Records
with Nik Powell and bought a country estate north of Oxford, where he decided to install
a residential recording studio, The Manor Studio.
The first act Virgin signed was an unusual choice.
A young musician called Mike Oldfield had spent months perfecting a recording that had
no vocals and a lot of bells and other unusual instruments.
This was a bizarre first choice for what was intended as a rock music label, but it paid
off.
Oldfield's album Tubular Bells was one of the biggest selling records of the 1970s,
and helped to bankroll Virgin's early years in the business.
Virgin later signed controversial bands, such as the Sex Pistols, a band many other companies
were reluctant to sign.
However, Branson saw opportunities where others could see only risks with the band.
Branson was willing to go against convention and do the complete opposite of what the trend
was.
Virgin Records would go on to sign other artists including the Rolling Stones, Peter Gabriel,
UB40, Steve Winwood, Paula Abdul, Culture Club, Phil Collins, and The Human League.
By the early 80s, Virgin had become an unconventional big label to contend with, because of Branson's
willingness to step outside the box with artists many contemporary labels were afraid to sign.
4 – Nothing is ever too big Necker Island is a 74-acre island in the British
Virgin Islands that's entirely owned by Sir Richard Branson.
The whole island operates like a resort and can accommodate up to 34 guests.
When Branson bought the island, it was uninhabited.
He purchased the island at the age of 28, just six years after starting Virgin Group.
The story behind the sale completely shows Branson's attitude in life.
Richard Branson first became aware of the British Virgin Islands in 1978.
He had actually never heard of the 'Virgin Islands', had no idea where they were located,
or knew that the islands are actually called the British Virgin Islands.
He had just been trying to impress a girl he liked, they were still in the early days
of Virgin Records, and Branson by no means had the cash to buy an island.
Luckily for Branson, the realtor didn't know this and offered him an all expenses
paid trip to see the Islands.
Branson agreed to go on one condition, only if he could bring a guest.
Seriously, I love the balls on this guy!
Anyways, they were given a luxury villa and went around the islands by helicopter.
The final island he saw was Necker Island, and after climbing the hill and being stunned
by the view and wildlife, he decided there was no way he COULDN'T purchase the island.
However, Branson had no money to buy the island.
But he figured he had nothing to lose, and he made an offer with an amount the thought
he could come up with from the bank.
After making a lowball bid of $100,000 for the $6 million island, the owner said no and
Branson actually had to find his way off the island!
But, he was in luck.
After a year, nobody else had made an offer on Necker Island.
This time, the owner of the Island was desperate to sell.
Virgin Records was in a much better position than it had been a year before, so Branson
quickly agreed to a purchase price of $180,000 – the only condition was that Branson would
need to build a resort on the Island within four years.
The rest is history.
3 – Get inspiration from others Branson has stated in a number of interviews
that he has been much influenced by non-fiction books.
Branson frequently cites "Long Walk to Freedom," Nelson Mandela's autobiography, as one of
the most influential books he has read.
Mandela wasn't just a personal inspiration to Branson, he was a friend as well.
One of the best lessons from Mandela that guide and inspire Branson is letting your
vision guide you, instead of your fear.
In his own book, one of the most interesting parts is the soul-searching that Branson did
when he turned 40.
Branson decided to put much of his free time into philanthropy.
A great example of Branson's philanthropy is that of The Elders, an international non-governmental
organization of public figures, peace activists, and human rights advocates.
Richard Branson, musician and human rights activist Peter Gabriel, and Nelson Mandela,
initiated the group.
They describe themselves as "independent global leaders working together for peace and human
rights".
Obviously because of his interest in humanitarian and ecological issues, Branson also lists
Al Gore's best-selling book, An Inconvenient Truth, and The Revenge of Gaia by James Lovelock
among his favorites.
2 – Don't forget to have fun The other thing that Branson knows very well
how to do other than just business is fun.
Branson will be the first to admit he didn't go into his first business to make money,
but more as something fun to do.
Even nowadays, Branson's main criterion for entering a new market or industry is that
it be 'fun' and exciting.
For example, 'Virgin Galactic' is on track to be the first company to offer commercial
passenger flights into space.
This enterprise fulfils Branson's business criterion of only going into fields that are
fun and exciting, yet where obviously there's also money to be made.
Branson also has a number of achievements that have nothing to do with business and
are related to his various efforts to break world hot air ballooning and ocean powerboat
records.
Branson says that things like that add another dimension to his existence and make him feel
alive.
Branson is also known for his preference of casual clothing both at home and the workplace.
He has a distinct dislike of ties and there's been his lifelong campaign to quote "say
bye to the tie."
He often carries a pair of scissors with him at all times, ready to cut off a tie of anyone
at his company.
What's even funnier is the fact, that he even owns a pillow on Necker Island completely
made up of some of the ties he's cut!
According to Branson, most people in business dress the same and that contributes to them
acting the same.
Wearing a tie restricts new ideas and innovative thoughts.
Although I don't have the same hate for ties, what I can agree on is the fact that
business people need to embrace change.
1 – Do it right
Branson's march to riches did begin with a somewhat less benign and fun-loving version
of failure: a youthful foray into tax fraud, in which he was caught red-handed.
Though his chain of record shops was growing, it was actually losing money.
In the spring of 1971, Virgin was losing money as a discount music retailer.
Its record shop on London's Oxford Street was popular and its mail-order business was
growing, but thanks in part to its rock-bottom prices, the company was burning cash and digging
itself deeply into debt.
Branson accidentally found a solution to the problems that would almost fulfil the other
part of his headmaster's prophecy.
The scheme was simple.
Virgin would avoid paying purchase taxes on its merchandise by pretending to export albums
that it actually sold in England.
In Britain at the time, music retailers paid a heavy 33 percent tax on records they planned
to sell domestically.
But the tax didn't apply to vinyl destined for abroad.
While attempting to drive a large shipment to Belgium, Branson discovered that he could
stop at customs in Dover, get his export paperwork stamped, then bring the cargo back to sell
at home, where he could pocket the tax savings.
He figured that after a few such profitable trips Virgin would be debt-free.
However, after three trips of taking records across the English Channel to imaginary buyers,
his activities were discovered by Customs.
To escape jail he had to pay back three times the amount not paid in taxes.
Under tremendous pressure, he somehow met the payments from store earnings, but the
experience burned him, and at the age of 21, he resolved to never do anything approaching
illegality again.
Branson learned at that moment, if you're gonna do something, do
it right.
Here's what's next!
