Reacting to old videos #FemtubeRewind - Duration: 5:48.

So I started making youtube videos in 2011.

And when I started, I was making them just for me.

but everything changed for me during vidcon of 2015 when I really started to find community

making videos with femtube, which is a group of women and other marginalized people that

formed during a women on youtube workshop and just kept growing.

And it made me feel like all the work i'd been doing for years mattered for something.

So to celebrate two years of this community, Ally who is a wonderful leader and organizer

in this group, asked us to make reactions to our very first videos.

But i think there a lot of ways one could interpret first.

So here goes.

The first video i ever uploaded to youtube I made right after I got my first laptop when

I graduated high school.

I made it with the built in webcam, and it was an acoustic cover of the Lonely Island's

On a Boat.

This was.

So earnest, and so pure, and so colorful.

This sidebanged child thought she was real original.

Doing an acoustic cover of a rap video parody.

There were levels.

Now sometimes i regret that I didn't start doing youtube sooner but that's kind of

incorrect, because the moment I had the tools, like most people didn't really have phones

that could shoot video in 2009 so the moment i had a computer and a webcam it was the literal

first thing i did.

If you go to the first video on my actual channel.

I started my youtube channel to make time lapse drawing videos.

I used to always take art classes and hang out in the art room in high school.

I always drew in the margins of my notebooks and on my hands.

I wonder what I had on friday at 2:3) probably a therapy appointment lol.

I wanted to be like an artist or a graphic designer.

And so I started making daily time lapse art videos thinking that that would make me better

at art.

I didn't really actually get better but I did learn that video was also a kind of

art, and it taught me how to do basic editing and stuff.

And i made these kinds of videos for like a year and a half and i remember getting 50

subscribers.

It took me a year and a half to get 50 subscribers.

Which is probably why i still do this even though my channel is still pretty tiny 6 years

later.

Then I get into the artsy video phase.

This is when I wanted to learn to be like, a film

maker.

I got my first DSLR as a combined christmas/birthday/graduation present my senior year of college.

It's actually the same camera I am filming on right this moment.

I just got a new one but I haven't learned to use it yet.

But I wanted to like, direct music videos so I dragged my boyfriend to the library at

my school and made him like, hold the camera, as i like wafted around the library.

So moody.

Such art.

I actually like never studied in the library at school I always just studied in my dorm

or my apartment and it wasn't until i made this video that i was like oh i should like,

study here.

Also I made this kind of videos long enough, and like got better so that people hired me

to shoot their wedding videos.

And I bought all my lenses with that money so yknow.

Waft away girl.

And now.

We arrive at what we refer to as itsradishtime C.E.

i started making youtube doing a daily video challenge, and i didnt know what to do anymore

so I joined a facebook group for veda.

So in april of 2014 i made my first vlog, and then I did that every day and that's

how I learned how to vlog, like proper.

I think I'm just listing like, facts about myself right now but I'm doing pretty well

like i've got background music, I'm sitting in front of a bookshelf, this is yknow.

Not terrible vlogging.

I think it was actually easier for me then than it was now, because i hadn't told you

guys anything yet.

It was all new.

But I met some people like katherine and evelyn that i'm still friends with today.

Those were my first youtube friends.

And as they've grown as creators that pushed me too.

In fact I didn't really learn how to tell stories how I do now until after i did veda

again in 2015 because i ran out of fully baked stories to tell.

So i had to learn how to make stories out of like hazy snapshots of memory and 3 years

later you get what you're getting today.

The cool thing about making content for a platform like youtube is that the barrier

to entry is so much lower than a lot of things, and it's allowed me to reinvent what i want

to make way more than even four times over.

It's cool that any day or any week, every video i put up could be my first something.

And that it's introduced me to so many incredible friends and supportive communities that make

me want to keep trying.

If you want to see more femtube people there'll be a link to the playlist as soon as it's

live.

And In the comments tell me about the first time you did something that's important

to you.

If you liked this video, you can subscribe, you can also find me anywhere on the internet

at itsradisthime and I'll see you next week.

Bye!

Why I make videos in French (in French, subtitled) - Duration: 5:58.

Hello and welcome to Learn English wiht Jojo.

Today we're in my new room, in my new apartment in Chicago so

welcome and today I wanted to talk to you about something specific, it's

not a lesson in English, it's just to give you more info about my channel, behind

my channel and that will let you better understand how it works here with me.

So the subject today is why I make videos in French and not

in English.

I do make videos in English as well, but I like making videos in French better

and we're going to talk about that.

The first reason that I make this channel for the most part in French

is because there are already a lot of channels in English for you to learn

English so you can go see all that, you can search

"Learn English with" in Google (or Youtube) and you'll choose between something like 20 channels.

So I wanted to do something different.

There aren't a lot of channels for you to learn English in French with a

native English speaker.

I don't want to make things int he same way everyone does.

And the second reason is that it's quite possible that you already have a lot of experience

in English, meaning you watch Game of Thrones, you listen to music

in English, you watch movies in English maybe, but you don't understand enough;

you watch moves in (English) with French subtitles because you don't understand

everything.

There's a lot of slang, a lot of expressions, a lot of grammar that isn't... that you

didn't learn in school and you are a little bit stuck and this channel is here

to make you unstuck, to clarify little things for you that aren't too hard

but without good instruction aren't possible to truly learn, so that's

why I do that.

And the third reason is that I want to make videos in French and to stay

motivated, to continue to make videos once a week, twice a week,

I need to do something that I enjoy and so speaking French is something I enjoy.

It lets me continue to learn, to continue to practice, to improve myself,

to do all that, it's really good.

I advise you that if you want to start a channel in English, a Youtube channel

it lets you listen to yourself, watch yourself, analyse yourself in the editing process

and all that is very good.

If, for example, I make a 10 minute video, I speak to the camera for around

20 minutes and so I practice a lot.

20 minutes speaking another language is already really good, good for improving.

And to finish this video I wanted to say that what I'm doing with this channel

is maybe not the best, meaning it'd be maybe better if I made

videos only in English because you could immerse yourselves at the same time as learning

learning little grammar rules, slang, expressions and all that but I can

make videos in English too and that works for immersion and you already have

a lot of videos on Youtube in English, you can go see those videos and

everyone's happy.

If you have any ideas about that, if you don't agree, if you think that "Jojo, we already

know how to speak French , you need to make videos in English because we

have to learn English and... we don't like you and stop" you can say that and I

will listen, I will continue to make videos in French anyway, but

I'll maybe change the videos, change the ideas, do more videos in English,

do videos half in English, half in French, stuff like that.

So I want to listen to you and ummm.... otherwise I just found a job, I am going to work

I think thirty hours a week so I am going to... I am not unemployed anymore, so

that's already pretty great.

I can pay my rent in my new apartment and all that but that means

I will maybe do fewer videos on this channel because I am going

to be very busy, busier than before, thirty hours a week isn't too, too much.

I am going to continue anyway, even if it's a little bit less I hope you're still

down and ummm... yeah.

One day I'd like to pay my rent with this channel but we're not there yet.

You have to have... one hundred thousand subscribers to do that, so... yeah.

maybe in two years I don't know.

uh... yeah bye. See you very soon and uh... I'm going to work!

6 Rare Last Ever Videos of Animals Before They Went Extinct - Duration: 7:45.

1.Tasmanian Tiger Thylacine, commonly known as the Tasmanian

tiger, was the largest known carnivorous marsupial of modern times.

It was a shy and nocturnal creature native to Australia, Tasmania, and New Guinea.

Thylacine had the general appearance of a medium-to-large-size dog except for a stiff

tail and abdominal pouch.

From the top of its back dark transverse stripes radiated, like a tiger.

The thylacine was an apex predator like the tigers and wolves.

It could hunt prey and survive even in the extremely sparsely populated area.

Virtually wiped out in the wild due to constant hunting and the encroachment of humans on

their already limited habitat, the Thylacine was finally recognized as being in danger

of becoming extinct in 1936, too little, too late as that same year the last Thylacine,

named Benjamin, died on 7 September as the result of neglect in Hobart Zoo, Tasmania.

However, reported sightings are fairly common, as far as extinct animals go.

They've been spotted in Tasmania and mainland Australia, although none of the sightings

are scientifically confirmed.

2.Heath Hen Heath Hen was a large North American bird

which became extinct in 1932.

It was an extremely common bird during Colonial times and was hunted extensively for food.

In fact, many have speculated that the Pilgrims' first Thanksgiving dinner featured heath hens

and not wild turkey.

By the late 18th century, the heath hen earned the reputation of poor man's food.

Due to intense hunting, the population of heath hen declined rapidly.

By 1890, there were only 120-200 left in Martha's Vineyard, off Massachusetts.

By the late 19th century, there were only 70 left.

In 1908, they were protected by a hunting ban, and the population grew rapidly to 2000.

But due to various reason including a destructive fire and blackhead disease, the numbers started

dwindling rapidly.

Finally, during 1928, only one male survived.

It died on March 11, 1932, thus making the species extinct.

3.Golden Toad The first record of the Golden Toad was by

herpetologist, Jay Savage in 1966.

The toad, recognized by its brilliant golden orange color, was native to the tropical cloud

forests which surround Monteverde, Costa Rica.

None have been seen since 1989.

It last bred in normal numbers in 1987, and its breeding sites were well known.

In 1987, due to erratic weather, the pools dried up before the larva had matured.

Out of potential 30,000 toads, only 29 had survived.

In 1988, only eight males and two females could be located.

In 1989, a single male was found, this was the last record of the species.

Extensive searches since this time have failed to produce any more records of the golden

toad.

4.Laysan Rail

The Laysan rail was named after the Laysan Island, a small Hawaiian island that this

particular type of rail was native to.

Discovered in 1828 by sailors, the Laysan Rail was a flightless bird that preyed on

a wide range of food.

The extinction of the Laysan Rail could have easily been forgone as the oceanic island

was filled with a lot of fauna that flourished in the lush vegetation.

But extinction was inevitable due to the introduction of domestic rabbits.

These rabbits had no predators and so they thrived on the island, feeding on the vegetation

and grasses.

In 1891, the already endangered Laysan Rail was supported with conservation efforts when

a colony of rails was imported.

They prospered for awhile on the island before ultimately dying out due to a rat invasion

and human influence.

After this, numerous other efforts to save the bird had been set up but all to no avail

as the rails expired either due to storms or competition for food.

The last sighted Laysan Rail was seen on Eastern Island in June of 1944.

5.baiji dolphin The Baiji population declined drastically

in recent decades as China industrialized and made heavy use of the river for fishing,

transportation, and hydroelectricity.

As China developed economically, pressure on the river dolphin grew significantly.

Industrial and residential waste flowed into the Yangtze.

The riverbed was dredged and reinforced with concrete in many locations.

Ship traffic multiplied, boats grew in size, and fishermen employed wider and more lethal

nets.

Noise pollution caused the nearly blind animal to collide with propellers.

In the 1970s and 1980s, an estimated half of Baiji deaths were attributed to entanglement

in fishing gear.

Only a few hundred were left by 1970.

Then the number dropped down to 400 by the 1980s and then to 13 in 1997 when a full-fledged

search was conducted.

The dolphin was declared functionally extinct after an expedition late in 2006 failed to

record a single individual after an extensive search of the animal's entire range.

6.Western black rhino The rarest of the black rhino subspecies, the

West African black rhinoceros, is now recognized by the ICUN as extinct.

The species, Diceros bicornis longpipes, was once widespread in central Africa, but the

population began a steep decline due to poaching.

The rhino was listed as "critically endangered" in 2008, but a survey of the animal's last

remaining habitat in northern Cameroon failed to find any sign of the rhinos and No West

African black rhinos are known to be held in captivity.

The West African black rhino is a subspecies of the black rhino, but all rhinos are in

trouble.

The IUCN warns that other rhinos could follow saying Africa's northern white rhino is "teetering

on the brink of extinction" while Asia's Javan rhino is "making its last stand" due to continued

poaching and lack of conservation These footages are visible testament to just

how recently the creatures shown were wiped out – and a jarring reminder of the precarious

situation for many species still left on the planet.
