Simon Sinek: "A leader is someone who sees themself in service to some higher cause and

definitely to their people leadership is not about being in charge it's about

taking care of those in your charge the closest thing to leadership is being a

parent yes you have all the authority yes you have all the power but you're

responsible for the bringing up others around you helping them build their

confidence and see that they can achieve more than you so leadership is exactly

the same thing so what laters inspire you who your

favorite leaders so I mean I like all the big ones you know you're Gandhi's

and Martin Luther King's but there's there's a lot of the leaders that that I

turn to or look to for inspiration are not public and not well-known many of

them wear uniforms I'm become very close with some folks in the military I think

they're misunderstood very very often by by the general public and I met people

who I've cried with more than I've ever cried with anybody in a suit I've hugged

more often than I've ever hugged anybody in a suit and you know in in business we

have things called colleagues and co-workers but in the military they have

brothers and sisters and it's that that kind of intense relationship that I that

I love so much and learned so much about so you've learned a lot about leadership

over your time and you are a motivational speaker you speak to

inspirational well inspiration okay so is that just because a motivational

speaker since so 90s 84 is it yeah it's just like it's I didn't set out to be a

speaker I'm very very lucky that I have ideas that people request me to come

speak but it's it's very self helpy the whole but you know I think think of yeah

no not me for someone watching this what's something that they could do to

be a better person saying their workplace or in their life oh yeah so so

one of the things you can do is practice speaking last you know we're constantly

told you have to be a good listener but communication goes both ways you get to

speak and you get to listen yeah that would literally not work it would not

work wouldn't working a job well so Nelson

Mandela is universally regarded as one of the world's best leaders you know

different people are regarded differently depending on where you go

but Nelson Mandela is important because everyone thought he was great and he was

actually the son of a tribal chief and was asked by a journalist how did you

learn to be a great leader and he said when I was younger I remember going to

tribal meetings with my father and I remember two things one they always sat

in a circle and two my father was always the last to speak and if you think about

how we conduct meetings so often we walk in and say okay guys here's the problem

and here's what I think we should do but I'm interested in what you have to say

let's go around the room it's too late you've biased the room or people don't

feel heard and the strength that takes to not say anything and not even give

away what your ideas are and let people contribute not only do they feel heard

but you actually get the benefit of everything they they have to they have

to say so just practicing speaking last is is a big is a big one

now we've already heard in this in the show tonight that Millennials aren't

having enough sex which is terrifying and important but but is the future in

safe hands or Millennials a good hope I think every generations are good hope I

mean you know we never know what's going to happen they like every generation

prior to them have been molded by the events of their upbringing and there are

some significant important things that we have to remember is greatest

technology as it comes with a liability the thing that concerns me most about

the millennial generation is the addiction to technology we're all

addicted to technology but they grew up with the addiction and the statistics

are sort of alarming which is if you compare it to alcohol and dopamine is

the chemical that is released when we drink smoke or gamble that makes us

actually addicted to those things it's the same chemical that's released when

our phones go buzz or Bing when somebody discovers alcohol and starts drinking

prior to the age of 15 40% of them will become alcoholics if they just wait

until they're I think 19 the number drops down to something like 8% and so

if we're giving open access to an addictive device like a cell phone or

social media to kids under 15 the odds are incredibly high forty percent will

have an addiction later on in life and like all addiction it means they'll

struggle with human relationships they'll struggle dealing with stress and

this is what what scares me so much which we have age restrictions on

tobacco we have age restrictions on you know alcohol and gambling but we have no

age restrictions on social media or cell phones and yet it's just as dangerous so

I love Millennials for so many things they're so open to

others they're much more open than older generations to the sexuality or gender

identity of others they speak out when they when they don't when they work for

a company that doesn't offer them a sense of purpose or cause older

generations just suffer in silence and hate their jobs it's called having a job

it's about having a job that is part of it too yeah but and so I love them and

I'm hopeful for it but I am concerned about the addiction and their ability to

deal with stress as adults a disproportionately high number will

struggle you broke the internet recently when you said that Millennials suffer

from what you called failed parenting strategies have a look at this they were

told that they were special all the time they were told that they have anything

they want in life just because they want it some of them got into honors classes

not because they deserved it but because their parents complained and some of

them got a is not because they earned them but because the teachers didn't

want to deal with a parent's some kids got participation medals you got a medal

for coming in last Wow say some real support yeah for that now true or not

it's a brave man who goes around telling parents they're not doing a good job

that's a guy without kids yeah that's right

so where do you get off so the the funny thing is that most of that data comes

from parents themselves it's it's actually not sort of parenting experts

looking back at parents and saying you screwed up it's actually a lot of

parents now looking back at what they did in saying ooh maybe that no you know

so if you look at the data it's actually the parents themselves and a lot of the

things they tried parenting experts are also weighing and said it didn't work um

I've got to say I mean nightly suspicious of anyone who is

overwhelmingly positive all the time yeah and I'm just curious what do you

crap at yeah I'm bad at a lot of things I'm sort of a big baby I can't like like

for me to get my lucky continental no no no that's not something I would admit on

national no like for me to get my work done I

actually have a like this for when I write a book I shouldn't be saying this

on television either when I have to write a book I actually have a

babysitter that's what her title is she's my babysitter who comes over and

her entire job is to just sit in my apartment to make sure that I'm working

because I actually I have no discipline otherwise I'll just watch TV so you've

got a nanny I know she's babysitter so no not even at the level of nanny knows

like no she change you know that's that's remarkable because you say that

out loud is so it should be judged and the more you say it was like yes it's

that is exactly what I need in my life it I have to admit you know I it works

brilliantly it's just somebody who like cuz I'll just surf the internet

otherwise all day and when somebody goes are you working oh yes yes you know

we're working and having somebody there I work better so my most productive days

are when my babysitter's over now speaking of writing books your

latest book the the release in America and Taiwan I think yeah had a page that

smells of optimism one page yes what does optimism smell like it

I can't tell it's like what is it what you know was an unfamiliar with fear

yeah yeah I know what that smells like yeah it's like bananas I don't know I

can't describe it it's like how do you describe a Beethoven's Symphony it has

notes and those notes you can play chopsticks or you can play Beethoven's

Symphony and so the same thing goes in here there are notes of smell put

together in a way that is complicated and deep and wonderful and makes you

feel optimistic highly recommend it you could have a scent for the show yeah

some would say it already does

Degree Factory: Why Universities Are So Expensive - Duration: 7:01.

Universities are a business like any other: they have revenues, expenses and a product.

Like most companies, one of their most valuable assets is reputation:

yearly rankings are the first thing parents look at and their interest usually stops there.

Naturally, this results in cutthroat competition between universities: to rank higher each

year by obtaining better faculty and larger facilities.

This arms race is one of the reasons why universities have become so expensive, but it is far from

being the only one.

Together we'll learn just how deep the rabbit hole goes, because today we'll be looking

at the degree factory.

The assembly line of the modern American probably looks familiar:

A tedious grind from kindergarten to twelfth grade, likely followed by an undergraduate

degree.

As this percentage increases, the line between higher education and k-12 becomes thinner

and thinner.

It has already ceased to exist in the minds of most middle-class parents, who start saving

for their children's college before they've even learned to walk.

It's gotten to the point where teenagers are expected to know which university they're

gonna go to and to earn college credits long before they've even decided what they'll

be majoring in.

Of course, people's faith in higher education is well founded:

on average, people with a bachelor's degree earn a million dollars more over the course

of their lifetimes than their high school diploma counterparts.

Averages, however, can be misleading.

If you look, instead, at the median wage of graduates based on their major, you'll see

that not every degree was created equal.

And the people with majors from the bottom half of this chart, well, you're much more

likely to find them working at a Starbucks.

If you look at things on a macro scale, the situation looks even worse:

tuition doubles every nine years, youth underemployment is close to 50% and student debt in the US

is larger than the GDP of Australia.

The real winners here are universities, whose revenues have risen by 56% between 2009 and

2014.

But how did we even get to the point where everyone is supposed to go to college?

It wasn't always like this.

In fact, this 'college is for everyone' mantra is a very recent development.

Universities have been around for millennia, but back then only a select few could join

them.

Prior to the 18th century the vast majority of people were farmers, and they didn't

really need a degree in theology to till the fields.

Once the Industrial Revolution came around agriculture was replaced by manufacturing,

but again: no higher education required.

When World War 2 ended in 1945 manufacturing and services made up about an equal share

of the US economy, but ever since then the industrial base of America has steadily declined.

Today, the US is a service economy, with almost 80% of its GDP coming from that sector, and

that's why universities took off.

If you look at the rate of enrollment, you'll see that it neatly coincides with the rise

of services.

That's where the highest paying jobs were, and Americans were quick to jump onboard.

In the span of just a few decades the number of enrolled students quadrupled, and universities

cashed in on that big time.

Once they saw just how much money they could make by admitting as many student as possible,

universities started one-upping each other to stay on top.

For private universities, which make 80% of their revenues from tuition, this meant investing

in amenities.

Nice dorms, gyms, stadiums; anything that would keep them ahead, and to get the money

to build them, universities had to raise their tuition.

To maintain graduation rates despite admitting more and more below-average students, universities

have had to artificially pump their grades up.

They couldn't let actual academics get in the way of their profits now, could they?

Back in the 1940s only 15% of students got As, but today it is the most common grade

across the country.

All those extra students mean more administrative work, which has actually become one of the

biggest chunks of university spending.

Take for example the California Polytechnic University, where over the course of thirty

years the number of administrators more than tripled, compared to a meager 4% increase

in faculty.

Unsurprisingly, all of this has caused university spending to skyrocket and since 1970, it has

increased by more than 22 times.

To maintain their income universities have had to increase their tuition, which they've

done as much as they've been able to.

But people can only pay so much tuition, so what do you do after you've bled them dry?

You get them to borrow more money, and who better to borrow from than the ultimate lender,

the government?

Starting with the GI Bill from 1944, Uncle Sam essentially began subsidizing universities.

Civilian loans got underway shortly after, and since then student loan debt has become

second largest form of consumer debt, ahead of auto loans and credit cards.

Today, student loans amount to $1.4 trillion of debt, 92% of which is in the hands of the

government.

If you're thinking "Hmm, doesn't this sound familiar?" you'd be right.

And if you weren't thinking that, it's probably cause you're a dirty millennial

But really, the student loan bubble is eerily reminiscent of what happened back in 2008

with the housing market crash, and the worst thing is that nobody's doing anything about

it.

No university is gonna start firing staff and tearing down stadiums, and that means

that the bubble is only going to get larger.

As of right now, the average university graduate takes on over 37,000 dollars of debt, which

they're gonna be repaying over the course of 20 years.

And all of that just to have a 50/50 shot of getting a job below their qualifications.

It's pretty clear that higher education reform is sorely needed, and until that happens,

things are only going to get worse.

The good news is that community colleges have become a lot more attractive lately, and so

too have online courses.

In fact, the rise of online freelancing has made careers without a degree entirely possible.

As long as you can do the work, nobody cares whether you've got some expensive piece

of toilet paper vouching for you.

The Internet is full of places where you can learn a vast array of skills without going

into lifelong debt.

"And So It Has Begun" | The Character-X-Action Game (Ep. 1) - Duration: 5:09.

What is up? It is me, Loafbud!

And today in this video, we are going to do some randomness. Hehe...

I am going to use two cups.

Two cups! I ha-- I have two cups.

I have another third cup but that one's irrelevant, but -- two cups.

Both cups are filled with slips of paper that each have writing on it.

One cup is filled with all of my characters, all of my OCs.

The other cup is filled with actions and scenarios and basically what I do with these...

...is that once I get a character and an action put together...

I... draw it! And we'll just see how random it gets.

I also have third-party characters in here such as like... like characters from Splatoon.

But...

I'm just gonna stick to my OCs, I guess.

And fan characters! Yeah, I'm doing fan characters as well.

Alright, so the first person I pulled up is a character I've made way back in fifth grade. I'm a graduate now.

His name is Gotharist! So, boom, here's Gotharist right here.

He was part of a band -- a fictional band I was creating as a kid.

*frantic paper-filled cup shaking*

And he's like the guitarist.

Gotharist will be doing...

I pulled out the thing that says "Happy and Super Excited"!

And it's the complete opposite. So, here you go! Here's Gotharist super excited.

AGT' Winner Darci Lynne Reveals Why She Was So Emotional During Finale: 'I Was Like

Darci Lynne, understandably, just could not hide her emotions after she was named the

season 12 winner of 'America's Got Talent,' and she revealed EXCLUSIVELY to HollywoodLife.com

the sweet reason she was tearing up so much onstage!

When Tyra Banks announced that Darci Lynne, 12, beat out Angelica Hale, 10, to win season

12 of America's Got Talent, she broke down in tears as her family rushed the stage to

congratulate her.

Despite being someone who was very nervous to perform before coming on the show, Darci

has mostly been able to keep her emotions in check throughout the season, but that all

changed on finale night!

"Oh yeah, I was waterworks right here on this stage," she told HollywoodLife.com

EXCLUSIVELY after the show.

"I was like a water faucet!"

So, what caused that sudden outbreak of tears?

"They were all bottled up inside," she admitted.

"I felt so loved during my AGT journey by all the contestants, and all the staff, my

friends and family, and everyone…and it just all came out!"

Darci's singing ventriloquist act won over the heart of viewers and judges right from

her audition, when she automatically advanced to the quarterfinals with the help of Mel

B's golden buzzer.

Every round, she came out with even more impressive performances, and despite the tough competition,

it really was no surprise that she was named the winner.

Of course, her parents and two brothers were absolutely ecstatic, and Darci continues to

credit them with giving her to the confidence to perform in front of a crowd.

"They made me feel so good that they made me come on the stage," she gushed.

"I was overcome with joy, and I was kind of shocked and delirious at that time, so

I can't remember anything."

Along with the title of AGT winner, Darci also took home a $1 million prize, and will

get to headline a show in Las Vegas this fall.

It's safe to say this is just the beginning of a very successful career for this young

girl!

Mama Dog Who Lived In Junkyard Is So Happy Her Puppies Are Safe Now - Duration: 3:25.

Dogs knew was a junkyard in

Baltimore

While they technically been owned by someone the owner had recently passed away, and the dogs had been fending for themselves

ever since

When the officers arrived a few weeks ago

They found two dogs a male Labrador mix and a petite golden furred female. Who'd be named Goldilocks

But as the officers were getting the dogs onto their transport vehicle they heard something

squeaking a

Swift search led them to three tiny puppies

Two black ones and one brown huddled behind a junk pile

Goldilocks had been caring for them

But they just weren't visible to animal control when they got there marine Sosa

Intake director at the humane Rescue Alliance told the dodo

but she allowed them to pick her puppies up, and she was very sweet about the whole thing the

Officers took the dogs back to Baltimore Animal Rescue and care shelter barks and kept them there for their stray hold

They wanted to make sure that nobody was going to come forward for them like a family member Sosa said

but no one did

The mail lab mix whose Sousa believes fathered the puppies was quickly adopted after his stray hold

Goldilocks and her puppies however needed more time together

Goldilocks was still nursing and her puppies needed to get bigger and stronger

so last week salsa went to pick them up and

Transferred the little family to the shelter run by the humane rescue alliance in Washington mom was so sweet Sosa said

She jumped up in my lap and wanted to be pet

Then she climbed right into the crate in the van and curled up with her puppies and slept the whole ride over

Since the mom was already named Goldilocks the workers at the humane rescue Alliance named the puppies little bear

Pooh Bear and baby bear I think it was because she had three little bears so so said

Goldilocks is a bit thin and malnourished so the shelter staff is giving her extra meals and vitamins to help her gain weight

But nothing has stopped Goldilocks from being a great mother to her puppies

She's an amazing mom so so said

She takes really good care of her babies

She tends to do cleans up after them you can tell she's very proud of them

and

She takes really good care of them

once the puppies have grown up a little they will all be up for adoption if

Why is Dedede so BUFF!? (Kirby Star Allies - Nintendo Switch) | SwankyBox - Duration: 5:33.

Why is Dedede so buff!?

Has he been hitting the gym really hard?

What has happened to our penguin-like king this time?

Just recently we were given a sneak peak at what Kirby Star Allies has to offer.

The game looks incredibly fun, and the combination of elemental traits with abilities looks pretty

interesting.

In some way sort of reminds me of Kirby 64, but it looks like they have taken it to another

level.

Towards the end of the trailer we see some pretty common sights though.

Whispy is once again the target of our Kirby driveby beatdown, and it looks like Dedede

has joined the fray too.

For those unfamiliar with previous Kirby games, the most common trope that occurs is good

people going bad.

Some entity possesses characters and forces them to turn temporarily evil until you defeat

them.

Then the evil is expelled form their body.

Dedede of course is sort of a middle ground character though, and isn't really good

or evil.

He serves as an antagonist in the series sometimes, where as other times he can be found helping

Kirby out.

Nintendo's amiibo description outlines it perfectly: "Every hero needs an arch frenemy,

and King Dedede is Kirby's!

His hobbies include eating, stirring up trouble, and yelling orders at his loyal Waddle Dees

while bashing things with his huge hammer."

Throughout the series we have seen Dedede become stronger with each iteration of his

appearances.

Perhaps from every loss he learns a little more, although that could surely be debated

because he's not really the one in control half the time.

From upgrading his hammer, to wearing a protective mask - he tries to step up his game any way

he can.

However…

This time things are looking a little different.

Not only did our penguin friend get completely shredded, but the size and length of his arms

have become simply abnormal.

Even if he was spending all day with Tony Horton cranking out some P90X,

I hate it…

But I love it.

...he wouldn't see these results.

No work out plan is going to turn those arms, into these mutant ones.

Why are his forearms bigger than anything else?

Has he been slamming some spinach?

What is going on?

Extreme workout results aside, this really got me thinking about what we are really seeing

here.

Obviously Dedede is possessed, but we don't know if this possession is what is causing

his hulk transformation, or if this is something he had been training for prior to being possessed.

However, this possession does possibly hint at who the underlining villain is within this

game.

In order to figure that out though, first we have to look at some potential culprits.

Within the Kirby universe there have been a multitude of bosses who all hold the ability

to possess and corrupt others.

Nightmare, Dark Matter and Nebula, Yinyarn, and Taranza to name a few.

However, all of their possessions are not equal.

Nightmare has the capability of manipulating the mind, but no physical abnormalities take

place.

Taranza and Yinyarn have similar abilities whereas their possession is a form of puppeteering.

They manipulate their victim from the background and seem to have control over their individual

limbs.

However, Dark Matter is quite different.

Dark Matter, 0, 02, and Dark Nebula are all derived from the Dark Matter family.

The possessions they utilize have the ability to change the form of whatever is being possessed.

This isn't always the case, but it isn't outside the boundaries of what they are capable

of.

Dark Matter in particular shows the true darkness behind its powers when it possesses Dedede

- especially in Kirby's Dreamland 3.

He began to fly around as if he is growing demonic.

And then something awful happens.

Yeah, that was his stomach opening up to reveal an eyeball.

But it gets much worse…

His stomach actually becomes a mouth that tries to eat Kirby.

How this works I have no idea - truthfully his stomach should be ripped right open, but

I suppose this is the magic of the Kirby universe.

With the eyeball and mouth though, it seems he's only a step away from Resident Evil

territory.

But this is why I find this scene from the Nintendo Direct teaser so interesting…

Dark Matter has the ability to change the host's body in any way it desires.

We are told that there is a dark new force manipulating Dream Land, but I really wonder

if this is actually a new force at all.

From what we can see in the video, it looks like some form of abnormal possession.

Whispy is glowing with a dark aura while Dedede looks like he overclocked his strength.

I'm wondering if the reason why Dedede is so buff is because he's once again been

possessed by Dark Matter.

If Dark Matter can transform one's stomach into a mouth, why wouldn't it also be able

to grant that user super strength?

What if this "new villain" is honestly just the return of Dark Matter or some other

form of him.

Dark Nebula's possession seemed to make its victims glow in a similar way, or at least

they were tinted darker.

Dark Nebula, the foe at the end of Squeak Squad, is grouped in with the Dark Matter

family according to the 20th anniversary art book that was released.

It makes me wonder if this new game will branch out with another member of the Dark Matter

family.

It would make sense given what we have seen so far, but I suppose anything is fair game

at this point.

But now that I've dumped that on all of you, I'd of course love to hear your thoughts.

Yanglin will wake up at 6am every day to prepare breakfast for his dad.

He'll head to school, but will come back around lunchtime in order to feed his father

lunch.

Yanglin has taught himself how to shop and even prepare meals in order to take care of

his dad.

Yanglin's neighbors have taken notice.

Most of his neighbors are so moved by his compassion that they'll try to help financially

whenever they can.

Although Yanglin struggles to make ends meet, nothing will stop him from taking care of

the father he loves.

Often times we hear about the concept of unconditional love, but it's hard to put into words.

I hope that the story of Yanglin and his father serves as a testament that unconditional love

isn't some fabricated idea.

Although incomprehensible at times, it exists.

so today! tadaa a Korean viewer sent me these instant fried noodles

this is what they are its got this pic of a raccoon

in the letter that was attached they said that these noodles inflate so big that they look like racoons

and that is why they named this raccoon in korean its pronounced ~~

I've got 2 packs of these but in actuality 2 different viewers sent me these to eat

so that must mean that these are popular ~in korea~

will you look at this... they really took their time and wrote such a nice letter

they even wrote it in Japanese I'm shook

so I'll be using these directions to make this dish

?Nagri? ramen

the raccoon mascot looks so KAWAII

I find that the Koreans often do this thing where they say they're selling 4 plus 1 alot

and inside the packet there are noodles plus ~they really are t h i c c noodles and are very puffy looking~

theres so much in here

and I'll toss in random veggies that I had sitting around here at home

gr. onion eggplant and shimeji mushrooms

cut the onion diagonally

remove the tip of the eggplant and after cutting in half cut these diagonally as well

fry up the cut up veggies

while these are cookin' cook up the noodles and sauces

once the veggies are cooked through add the boiled noodles and spices

since 10 packs worth won't possibly fit in here I'll cook these up in 2 batches

I'll add this oil and this soup powder packet

its rather red..... is this going to be spicy?

and once you've added the soup and powder mix it together

tadaa its all done

I took a taste of this and I thought that some egg would probably go great with this and that's why I added it to the dish

I'll now weigh it

with the plate its 4.45kg meaning its 3.3kg

and I also have 1kg of miso soup here at long last lets dig in ITADAKIMASU

do you guys know what this is? its tiny but its a fish cake in the shape of the character

first bite will be without any of the egg

I'm thinking as though this might be a bit spicy

the noodles are truly chewy and fluffy they're rather thick noodles

and it is just a bit spicy as well

would probably be ideal with a bit of egg mixed in with it

so yummy

since it has a spicy kick to it the egg really mellows it out nicely

give it that extra depth and its so yummy

but since its got such bold flavors maybe a bit of mayo would work with this as well

I did add my own eggplant and onions to this but it already comes with quite a lot of toppings in it

its got different types of seaweed in it

these noodles truly are T H I C C and so chewy and yummy

they're somewhere in between ramen and udon sizes

tadaa I feel like my #BFFMayo would go nicely with this so I'll add it

but I think that eggs are a better match

mayo is yummy as well

since its spicy when you mix it with mayo it makes it so very yummy

and I just looked this up online and instead of 'nagri' I get more hits off of 'nogri' ramen

apparently its 'kokkun' 'nogri' the kokkun is fried

and the nogri means raccoon

these really are super delish these noodles are super chewy noodles

it might be because of all the seaweed but its got a bit of sea urchin flavor to it

and with a bit of a spicy kick to it

since I had 10 eggs at home I'll add the remaining ones now

(OK PEEPS: raw eggs are totes safe in Japan rest assured "she not gonna die" of salmonella they're clean, safe and not 'smelly')

and this is ~ its in a shape of a raccoon

the toppings in this fried noodle are very tasty

its got meat in it and there is quite a lot in here

this fried noodle was very tasty

the noodles were super delicious and it was so chewy that I don't think there are

any instant ramens out there that are as chewy as this is

as for taste it tasted like it had a base flavor of bonito with a bit of spice that really tasted great

and I felt as though adding the egg or mayo made it taste even that much better
