Crosspost your Live videos with Facebook and Switcher Studio - Duration: 9:03.
so Facebook has some great tools for cross-posted videos so that videos can
live on one page and another page at the same time there's also some great tools
with scheduling in advance so while your videos will get the maximum number of
notifications to all your viewers and followers and now we have integrated
both of these two features into the switcher studio professional plan today
I'm going to show you how both of those work in Facebook on this computer and
also in Switcher Studio stick around
hey what's up everybody its Jimmy with
switcher studio today I'm going to show you how to set up crossposting with
Facebook how to do scheduling with Facebook and how to use Switcher
Studio to harness the power of crossposting and scheduled live videos
whenever you want to go live so cross posting is a really powerful tool it
essentially lets you take videos from one page set up a cross posting
relationship with a second page so that video can be live on both pages at the
same time if you want or you can take a video that's owned by one page and you
can set up a cross posting relationship so that video is allowed to be crossed
posted by another page there's a lot of cool ways to use it
but if you want to learn more about it all you need to do is go search for help
in Facebook and there's a great article that they wrote about how cross posting
works and it gives you kind of a step-by-step on how to set it up but I'm
gonna set it up today so you can see just how it works so I went ahead and
set up two Facebook pages that I administrate so on the first one over
here in the upper right you click on settings we'll go down and we see an
option called cross posting so as you can see this page has a cross posting
relationship already established with a couple different pages including Switzer
studio if I want to add another page I just search for it here in the add page
so any pages that are already public you can search for them here so I actually
created another page today called switcher cross post in there to switcher
cross posting so anytime you enter into cross posting relationship what you're
doing is you're allowing videos either automatically or manually to be shared
by another page as if it was their own post so right here especially when we're
doing live video you want to make sure you allow automatic posting that way
when you go live with some cross posting relationship it goes live on both pages
at the same time otherwise you might run the risk of going live on one page and
then waiting for somebody to manually select that a video can go live on the
other page and maybe it won't be live by the time
somebody gets around to saying that it's allowed you can see the problem here if
you want it to go live you need to just say automatically so that live means
live so just remember that if you're setting up cross posting for pages you
administrate just go ahead and set it to allow automatically we're gonna do that
right now so I'll just choose next now let's go look at the other page and so
just like the other page which is actually called switcher cross posting
will choose the settings and on the left will go down to cross posting and here
we are we can see the other page that I just
requested from and we've got the option right here it says your live videos
they've allowed you to automatically cross post live videos to their page
well I'm gonna go ahead and set the relationships so that they both are set
up to automatically post this just makes sure again if both videos are supposed
to be going live at the same time they'll automatically go live as soon as
one post goes up I definitely encourage you to read up on this more if you're
going to be establishing cross posting relationships with pages that you're not
the administrator of you just want to make sure that you're an agreement with
how your cross posted videos are gonna be going up whether it's manual or
automatic just check on that first all right so now let's see how this works in
switcher studio so if I want to set up some cross posting options I'll just do
what I normally do in switcher I just tap on Facebook as an option I get the
menu here and what I'm gonna choose is I'm gonna choose to go to a page so I'm
going to choose our page switcher studio because I know we've set up a bunch of
different cross posting relationships over the last couple of months so in the
stream setup we've got your regular stuff we've got the title we've got the
description but now in the switcher professional plan we've got cross
posting if I tap on cross posting you'll see the list of all the different pages
that we have cross posting relationships with and I can choose among these
different pages so that we can go live to both pages at the same time as long
as the cross posting relationship is set up to allow automatically this is a
great way of seeing that full list of all your cross posts and relationships
so if you want to make a live video go live right now and you want it to be
cross posted immediately or be available for cross posting from one of those
approved pages you've got the entire list right here so I'm just gonna pick
one of the early ones I set up so we're just gonna go to this page for now and
I'm happy with that so based on the setting that I chose when we were
setting up the cross posting relationship it'll either be held for
approval or it'll go up automatically as soon as this live video goes out all
right so while we're already in here why don't we take a look at scheduling
Facebook live posts directly within switcher studio
so we'll just go inside of the Facebook output and I'm just going to stick with
my default stream destination which is just a switcher studio live testing page
it's a private page that we created so I'm just going to stick with a default
destination and for the description I'll call this so once I've got a description
for the post all I need to do now to schedule it is toggle the scheduling
option so if we look back at the interface if I just toggle on scheduling
I get a scheduled start time option so I'm just going to tap on that and I'm
gonna set the time to be hey let's just make it closer to 4:00 so I can choose
to create a live stream and that's it I've scheduled a Facebook live video
post through switcher studio that's now visible on my page so one of the great
things about having Facebook live scheduling integrated into switcher
studio is that when I use switcher to schedule something it appears on
Facebook immediately as a facebook live post so earlier I went ahead and just
set it up I went ahead and scheduled an event I typed in I scheduled this post
with switcher studio three exclamation marks and right here it is on the page
switcher studio live testing you can see all the details are in there if I want
to mess with this post or adjust any of the settings I can just choose to edit
and I get all the same settings right here I can add cross posting to if I
want I can edit the schedule but you can see it's on the same date that I set up
inside the switcher studio that's pretty cool so one of the greatest benefits of
having Facebook scheduling integrated directly inside the switcher studio now
is you can select your stream destination based on scheduled events
that you have across different pages that you administrate or even your own
personal timeline so what I did was I created some Facebook live posts using
the web browser and now in switcher studio instead of having to manually
type in all of the different information in here what we can do is just choose
that destination from the list so there's a new icon on the left side for
people with the professional plan and when you tap on that icon you'll get the
option to manage all of your streams that are scheduled so from the list we
can see all the different scheduled streams that I have and you can see
maybe the first one there it's coming up soon it's Wednesdays at 2:00 p.m.
hashtag extreme squad come see us on Facebook lab there's also one that I
created earlier so this one you can see is created for a page that I'm an
administrator I've called switch your studio live testing
so here's another scheduled event I made for the following day it says here's a
scheduled posts from switcher cross-posting I mean that one just a
little while ago you can see the last one on theirs from a page we were
looking at earlier with all these different scheduled streams I can use
the icon on the right to get some more information about them and edit
different things about them so I can change the screen title I can change the
description and I can save these settings or alter them if I need to
using scheduling inside of switcher studio with the professional plan is
going to make things a lot easier this is a really easy way of setting things
up in advance and then coming in after the fact and choosing your destination
right here inside of switcher studio it's way easier than having to type in
our TMP information for each individual scheduled event this makes things a lot
more streamlined and a lot easier if you're doing multiple events all the
time all right so that's a little bit of a technical rundown of some of the
different tools that we've added in switcher Studios new professional plan
cross posting is really advantageous if you want to get your message out to
multiple pages that you administrate it's also useful if you're trying to
start a relationship with another page that you're not the administrator of but
you want to sort of have this symbiotic relationship where your content and
their content and live on both pages that might be useful for you scheduling
is a great tool if you want to make sure that notifications get to your followers
in advance if you scheduled a video they're more likely to get a
notification about it being live also with scheduling in advance people can
request reminders from when a video is going to be going live so that's another
way of making sure that your audience is gonna get your content if cross posting
is important to you or scheduling your events in advance is important to you
then utilize this tool find ways of making relationships with other pages or
utilizing other pages to get your videos out there to a larger audience utilize
scheduling so you get notifications to people faster so these two features are
just the beginning of all the different things that we're adding in switcher
studio if you like hearing about these different things and you want to learn
more ways to help you level up your live video please go to switcher Studio comm
start a trial sign up and also hit the subscribe button we got more content
like this coming your way we're gonna help you utilize cross posting and
scheduling your videos in advance to the best of your ability so please check all
of that stuff out we'll see

How to stabilize 360 videos and straighten horizons in Adobe Premiere with VR plugins - Duration: 8:03.
Hey Guys, it's Gaba VR, and this time I'm gonna show you how to straighten your 360 footage,
and how to make your horizon constantly straight during your whole video.
Looking at these videos, maybe everything seems fine, until you start panning around.
Then you can feel that they behave a little bit strange.
You cannot look around as easy as you want, because something is wrong with them.
But here you can see the problem, right after switching to flat view.
As you can see, the stabilization itself is quite okay, but the horizon line is a little bit twisted.
That's why the whole video behaves weird in 360, as the main directions are shifted.
If you want to look right, you will turn the video right but it's not the real direction in the virtual space…
… I hope you know what I mean.
You won't see such things in my 360 videos on this channel,
but unfortunately I meet this problem a lot of times in several Facebook groups,
when people just upload their raw footages, shot with Mi Sphere, Theta or GoPro Fusion.
And I think it ruins the whole VR experience,
because you can't look around perfectly. Even more, it's quite disturbing.
Anyway, if you are interested about this content I create check out my 360 travel vlog.
Now I have a series about Lisbon, you find in the right top corner.
Previously I published my videos with English subtitles but now I create English speaking versions, too
I dub the whole videos.
So sometimes when I'm talking to the camera, like this time, you can hear the original audio in the background
overdubbed in English, but the narrative parts are totally replaced.
So if you are interested about my 360 contents, check out my Portugal vlog in English,
or this playlist with all of my 360 videos in various topics.
But now, let's jump into it, and let's see how to straighten 360 videos on a computer.
It doesn't matter if it's a PC or Mac, because I'm working with Adobe Premiere.
In one of my previous tutorials I showed you how to insert titles into the 360 space
using one of the VR plugins come with the latest Premiere CC version.
And now, we're gonna use another one.
And this time I show you this workflow with a Madv footage.
So starting at the beginning I stitch my video.
I use the latest Mi Sphere Camera software,
because somehow it does a better job than the Madventure 360.
Madventure 360 creates such a weird "stitchline" in the middle of the front lens,
but Mi Sphere Camera app doesn't.
Each time I make sure that "Gyro calibration" is on, and that's all.
This basic stitching "workflow" makes the footage smooth
but the funny part is that none of the videos are aligned well. I don't know how.
Let me show you a funny example.
In this video you can see one of the simplest situations you could imagine.
I just put the camera on a horizontal surface. It's actually a couch.
I press the record button before putting the camera down, and it confuses the whole system.
The horizon line is changing all the time, during the video, even when the camera is not moving at all.
It seems like an extreme situation, but in fact it's quite the same with a moving camera, too,
but it's harder to see then.
So I have the footage with stabilization but the horizon is not perfect
Even more, it's changing during the video.
First I import it into Premiere, and search for "VR" plugins.
This time I will use the one called "VR projection".
To straighten the footage I have two options.
Once I can set up the middle of it, and I can correct the twist of the image, too.
Unfortunately it's always depending on the footage, there are no rules, how to start.
But there are some tricks I found out and I can show you them.
First, you may know that there's an overlay in Premier, called "Safe margins".
When you turn it on, it helps you editing commercials or any other videos you create for television.
Normally you can be sure, that your titles and your important graphic parts are in the safe zone.
But I use it with 360 videos, too.
These lines, especially the short ones on the middle can help me to set up the horizon
and in many times, the other ones are great during setting up the edge of the buildings.
If you don't have this icon, click on the plus button and add it to your toolbar.
Of course, you can create a psd file with a grid and drag it over the 360 video,
but in my projects there are so many layers in the end, that it would disturb me.
So I use these shorter middle lines, to set up horizon.
As you can see, it helps a lot to make the video really straight.
Even more I can switch to 360 preview.
Actually I hate that this preview window is so small, but this way I can check out these things very well,
because these frames and lines remain visible even in this view.
Of course, I can try looking around to feel how natural it is.(Sometimes it needs more correction.)
When it seems and feels perfect, I switch back to the flat view.
And here comes the part, why I showed you that weird moving horizon video in the beginning:
because the horizon line is moving in many cases, and we have further things to do.
I create key frames at that point where I was editing so far, and check out another frame.
Fortunately, in many cases it only needs a small correction.
And of course, I won't use the whole footage.
First I always cut the beginning and the end, when I actually put the camera in position and stop recording.
Then I check out the final cut to see where to put the key frames.
The less key frames are the better.
I think it looks more natural, when you create an arc to it.
Of course, it depends on the footage,
but I like to make it as smooth as possible, with continuous changes
instead of strong steps from frame to frame.
And finally you can see how it looks before and after
And how this weird footage looks before and after.
It's in flat view...
...and in 360.
And finally there's one more thing.
As you can see, we have a third option with this VR plugin, I haven't used yet.
I use it to set up a starting view-point and match the further videos to it during cutting.
You know, in a 360 or VR space it's very important to be consistent in directions.
I think the most important thing is to set up the first frame, because that's what the viewers can't control.
After that it doesn't matter what's in the "middle" or on the sides,
the point is to keep the scenes consistent during camera moves and setting up directions.
I think the easiest way to do this, is to create a fade.
In the middle of the fade you can see both images upon each other.
So when your opening scene is okay, you can match the next one to it, and so on…
That's how I go through the whole video to match all the scenes.
And that's all. I have straight horizons all over the video, and all the scenes are matching.
I hope you like this method, and if you do, please thumbs up!
And if you are interested about further 360 shooting and editing techniques,
press that subscribe button and don't forget to check out my 360 videos on the right top corner!
See you soon guys!

MY LAST VIDEO (100K subs SFX giveaway) - Duration: 11:47.
Asalaamu Alikum' guys and welcome to Smile2jannah
if you say smile to jannah
Smile to jannah? I don't know... what does that mean?
Jannah is paradise
so basically what you're saying is, you're saying Smile 2 Paradise
Smile 2 Jannah
Smile 2 Jannah
Alhamdulillah
Alhamdulillah I know you guys don't like this
After five long years of grinding
Alhamdulillah Smile2jannah has crossed the hundred thousand subscriber mark
Can I please get a round of applause
No? Of course not because you should be
saying mashaAllah
why is this hundred thousand subscriber mark so important?
Reason being guys my main objective at the start was to show
people that you can make funny videos that make people laugh and of course
with benefit in it, without using music, without using free mixing and any other
haraam stuff. But obviously I couldn't do that with 10/20K (subs) yeah. Now the channel
is verified I can finally say- man did not use any instruments, voice only
tracks and of course many people have asked for those tracks and insha'Allah
it will be in the description below
I wanted to show you that look it is
possible to do all of this and still get an audience
Now don't get me wrong I honestly thought it would take about a year or two
And I would think that people
would be more appreciative towards an initiative like this
but you know what guys, honestly...it was much more difficult than I thought
and the support Alhamdulillah was there, but it was very little in comparison to
say some of these big big channels
but Alhamdulillah as soon as I crossed that mark
I got on the phone, I spoke to brothers that I could get a hold of
And I thanked them. You know people like Alidawah, Omar Esa, Hamza Tzortzis
-Erm Dad -Ha Jee (Yes) -Basically...
Yeah, we're gonna have to edit that bit out- yeah?
-It's ok, I'm going to take you under my wing
It's a great honor
All these brothers who were big before even smile2jannah and at that time I had
I think under 50k, they still believed in the project and they still supported
Now without this being a click baity video, I did say to myself when I reached
the 100K mark that will be it for smile2jannah- I'll hang up my coat
I'll bow out and say there you go
For people that want to pursue something
like this you have an example right there
but to be honest guys smile2jannah
has become a part of me- it has become a part of my life
I viewed it as a hobby. People used to say "after work how do you get time to
make videos" I honestly didn't see as work, it was a hobby, it was an extension
of what I was doing what I was learning and perceiving in life
so if I started eating healthy, you guys noticed healthy videos were going up
If you are to do a project or an endeavor
immerse yourself in it- become that project
that's why make sure it transcends just money
and it has Islam in it, because you'll believe
in it more and it will mean something more to you as well
now that I've reached a 100K mark I honestly cannot separate myself from smile2jannah.
It's become me and I've become it
but Alhamdulillah I wanted to thank all of you guys that were out there
I get messages of people saying- been with you since
day one- been with you since 20K/10K and mashaAllah honestly I can't do
justice to that message by replying- so I'll say something cliche as Jazakallahu khair
appreciate it, but honestly it makes, makes my heart go tingly to know
that somebody believed in the project so much and Alhamdulillah
that's all it needed yeah some of you guys helped by commenting, even the
likes, even the shares, sending on the whatsapp groups,
guy every little helped.
The advice and the tips that helped me the most was number 1:
Consistency. I believed in my project, my own friends, people around me did not
believe- told me what are you doing? Yeah in fact I was an introvert but I felt a
need to do this because no one else was doing this even now, no one else is doing
it. That doesn't use music, that posts regular content about the deen
you know people don't understand that when they come up to me "Oh smile2jannah
I love this video, that video" I'm just talking about Islam, that's all I'm doing
but look how Allah honors the people who are trying to honor his religion and
this is why I want each and every one of you guys to do something yeah
your marriages will become better, your lives will become better, your just your
day to day activity will become better if you do something for the Deen
It could be writing a blog yeah if you're good at writing do a blog and share that
amongst friends and family if you are somebody that's good at editing or
whatnot do videos, do animation yeah you got Productive Muslim who does these
little cartoons. Do comic strips like the Muslim Show and I can promise you it
will add value to your life because that's the beauty of the Deen. Make sure
you're affiliated with scholars so they can guide you in doing that which is
correct and in accordance with the Deen. You don't wanna do stuff and it ends
up playing against you. And the thing is even now I get people saying "oh why are
you doing this/why are you doing that/ at the start we used to do sketches, then
the brothers some of them got married, some of them moved away x, y & z a lot of
people mashaAllah asked for them Allah bless them for whatever they did, but I
had to carry this channel on, even when you're starting and endeavor don't rely
on other people. I don't rely on people for editing, I don't rely on people for
adding subtitles or whatever
yeah you notice I add subtitles to most of my
videos as well. I do it myself I edit myself and I learned myself as well.
Because... I had to search the cameras, the sound equipment and everything and I
set up this stuff in my living room that's literally what it is
and guys if you do want to get into a project like this learn how to edit take a month or two
out or just do a couple of hours in the evening and watch within a month or two
you'll be done
you'll be done, possibly even shorter. Now theres tutorials all
over YouTube, any software you want to learn you can learn for free, you can buy
cameras if you can't afford a camera you've got a smart phone put it on a
tripod and start recording. I will put in the description my sound effects, my hums,
the voice only ones that you guys wanted its all in the description.
Get started, do something. I don't anything in return,
just pray for me make dua Allah accepts the little I have done and Allah accepts
me as his friend because if he does that guys, I'm successful, I'm successful. I
don't need all this stuff, yeah. The aim of the game is just to make
Allah my friend. And people around may not be able to like me that much,
but you guys did and that's the beauty of the online platform nowadays you can
upload videos share ideas, you know create stuff using apps it's very
difficult for someone to lose today. You don't need other people's help you can
just do it yourself. And that's what I suggest guys do it yourself.
Don't rely on other people yeah there are so many things I was you know I
didn't get invited to many radio shows or podcasts or short films or movie sets
or whatever Alhumdulilah a few here and there but the point is guys I didn't rely on
other people I carried on doing me and Alhamdulillah verified smile2jannah is
now verified. Now of course people are gonna look at subscribers and say oh he's
doing well let's get him on this platform of that platform, but guys be you
yeah and it's like Umar (r.a) who was very harsh. Prophet (SAW) doesn't
didn't tried to change him he just directed that harshness and harnessed it
for the deen, you know there's this book called Men around the Messenger, it is
like I think about 50 companions and then their short biographies they all
have unique personalities. All of them and that's amazing
so you guys you're sitting at home thinking I'm depressed & bla bla bla bla bla but
I was like you once upon a time and this channel helped me through difficult
times because I felt that there were people that were relying on me, people
that appreciated me and this is why I honestly cannot do justice in thanking
you the smile2jannah audience. Because you guys have helped me as much
as I have helped you, and you guys have given me a lot because of you guys
watching, commenting, sharing, showing your appreciation, I was able to meet amazing,
amazing people learn amazing things. But like I was saying when I tried doing
different ideas because I couldn't just do sketches there wasn't viable there's
too many people the whole day recording, so then I'd started trying different
ideas on you have the School of life to Heal and thrive series, I tried doing
vlogs, spoken word- all sorts, interviews anything yeah mashaAllah some did well
some didn't, but mashaAllah again experiment guys yeah
don't let other people dictate, people say "no you should do this you should do
that" no I do whatever I feel I can do. Oh talk about this/ talk about that
I'll talk about it I feel I can bring something beneficial to it yeah again
there came a time where I wasn't too fussed with criticism. A lot of you guys live
and die because of what someone says, you can't do this, you can't live and die
because of other people there's you know billions of people on the planet
everybody shares a different culture, lifestyle, perspective of the world you
cannot win with everyone it's just simply not practical. Just view the world
through the ethics and the morals of the Qur'an and the Sunnah and guys you will
be successful. Utilize your personality through the
prism of the Qur'an and the Sunnah and watch you will thrive and there'll be
people that can relate to you, don't try be like me, be yourself you might have
your own frame of comedy. Honestly there are some videos that I just loved doing
and enjoyed it and I genuinely found it funny but it didn't get the most views
but it's not gonna make me stop making them because then there's still people
who did appreciate them. And just the comments that you guys sometimes give
just blows me away, you guys have such a good way with words. But until next time guys
Asalaamu Alaikum

calling "explorable videos".
It was done in collaboration with Ben Eater, who runs an excellent channel about Computer
Engineering which viewers of this channel would definitely enjoy, and all the web development
that made these explorable videos possible is thanks to him.
I don't want to say too much about it now, it's really something that you have to experience
for yourself.
Certainly one of the coolest things I've had the pleasure of working on.
So to set the stage, last video I described quaternions, a certain 4-dimensional number
system that the 19th-century versions of Wolverine and the old man from Home Alone called "evil"
for how convoluted it seemed at the time.
And perhaps you too are wondering why on earth anyone would bother with such an alien-seeming
number system.
One of the big reasons, especially for programmers, is that they give a really nice way for describing
a 3d orientation which is not susceptible to the bugs and edge-cases of other methods.
I mean, they're interesting mathematically for a lot of reasons, but this
is probably their biggest practical application.
To take one example, a friend of mine who used to work at Apple, Andy Matuschak, delighted
in telling me about shipping code to hundreds of millions of devices that uses quaternions
to track the phone's model for how it's oriented in space.
That's right, your phone almost certainly has software running inside it that rely on
quaternions.
The thing is, there are other ways to think about and compute rotations, many of which
are way simpler to think about than quaternions.
For example, any of you familiar with linear algebra will know that 3x3 matrices can really
nicely describe 3d orientation, and a common way many programmers like to think about constructing
one of these matrices for a desired orientation is to imagine rotating an object around three
easy-to-think-about axes, where the relevant angles for these rotations are commonly called
"Euler angles".
This mostly works, but one big problem is that it's vulnerable to is something called
"gimbal lock", where two of your axes of rotation get lined up and you lose a degree
of freedom.
It can also cause difficulties when trying to interpolate between two orientations.
There are many great resources online for learning about Euler angles and Gimbal lock,
and I've left links in the description to a few.
Not only do quaternions avoid issues like gimbal lock, they give a very seamless way
to interpolate between two three-dimensional orientations, one which lacks ambiguities
of Euler angles, and which avoids the issues of numerical precision and normalization that
arise in trying to interpolate between two rotation matrices.
To warm up to the idea of how multiplication in some higher dimensional number system might
be used to compute rotations, take a moment to remember how complex numbers give a slick
method for computing 2d rotations.
Specifically, let's say you have some point in 2d space, like (4, 1), and you want to
know the new coordinates you'd get after rotating it 30 degrees.
Complex numbers give sort of a snazzy way to do this: Take the complex number 30 degrees
off the horizontal, a distance 1 from the origin, cos(30o) + sin(30o)i.
Now just multiply this by your point, represented as a complex number.
The only rule you need to know to carry out this computation is that i^2 = -1, and in
what might feel like a bit of magic to those first learning it, carrying out this product
from that one simple rule gives the coordinates of a new point, rotated 30 degrees away from
the original.
Using quaternions to describe 3d rotations is similar, though the look and feel is slightly
different.
Let's say you want to rotate some angle around some axis.
First, define that axis with a unit vector, which we'll write as having i, j and k components,
normalized so that the sum of their squares is 1.
Similar to the case of complex numbers, you use the angle to construct a quaternion by
taking cos(that angle) as the real part, plus sin(that angle) times an imaginary part, except
this time the imaginary part is the 3d axis of rotation.
Well, actually you take half that angle, which might feel totally arbitrary, but hopefully
that will make some sense by the end of this whole experience.
Now let's say you have some 3d point, which we'll write with ijk, components, and you
want to know the coordinates of what you'll get by rotating this point by your specified
angle around your specified axis.
What you do is not just a single quaternion product, but a quaternion sandwich, where
you multiply by q from the left and the inverse of q from the right.
If you know how i, j and k multiply amongst themselves, you can carry out these two products
by expanding everything out, or more likely by having a computer do so.
And, in what might feel like a bit of black magic, this big computation will return for
you the rotated version of the point.
Our goal is to break down and visualize what's happening with these two products.
I'll review the method for thinking about quaternion multiplication described last video,
explain why half the angle is used, and why you multiply from the right by the inverse.
On the screen, and at the top of the description, is a link to the website Ben Eater setup with
the explorable videos.
It's...it's just really cool, Eater did something awesome here.
At the very least, you should go take a quick look, but I'd love it if you went through
the full experience.

RATING YOUTUBER APOLOGY VIDEOS - Duration: 26:34.
*clap* *clap*
youtuber apology time.mp4
[Gnome: why! am I still getting hate?]
[I have no exCusE *Cries in Gucci*]
*gibberish*
[Scammer: cooper I have no idea
how I am going to record this video dude]
Hello
I, um...
wanted to make a statement on what I said.
Time for me to review youtuber apologies.
That's right!
for some reason I thought this was a good idea.
You know
I made a few apology videos.
Just a few of them
just a couple
so I feel like I have the basic knowledge and skill to
determine what makes a bad apology video
and what makes a good apology video.
So sit back and learn
just in case you become a youtuber
and decide to mess up as well.
Like most of us.
Now
what makes the perfect youtuber apology video?
A couple things
there's couple things.
First off
the most important thing you need to start off with a sigh.
You need to tell your audience immediately that
this is a heavy video to make and it's an extreme burden on your shoulders
and there's a no way a better way to do that
but with a *sigh*
tHe SiGh.
No.2 what you wanna do
is shift blame
shift blame
whatever you could do, okay.
Never. Take. Responsibility.
If you take responsibility
then that's admitting that you're wrong
and doing that
that's just impossible.
Never admit that you are wrong!
Rule No.1 ACTUALLY
that's rule No.1
Rule No.2
Shift blame
Rule No.3
Play the victim.
you.. you wanna make sure that
People know that, eh, this has been a great inconvenience to you
Ok
This has been a big problem for YOU.
So you might wanna bring up something like..ah...
lets say ah...
I'm getting cyber bullied.
[ His entire community has decided to cyber bully me]
Pewds: *chuckles*
Or if you're in deep trouble
What you wanna do is bring in death threats,
cause basically anyone that messes up on the internet
will get death threats.
It's just how the internet works
Unfortunately, there's gonna be that 0.01% of people that go too far
and that's an effective way to just diminish
every other criticism
The 99.9% of everything else that I, uh, people have to say
Excuse me
ahh!!
I'm getting death threats, ok!!
Oh! I messed up.
Oh well,
A few selected people have decided to send mean comments to me
so
I think your point is invalid
Tana: That I take full responsibility for that
Every single one of your biggest client told me how much money you've
taken from them, how much you've hurt them like *summons cthulhu* say their names
like if you want me to I'll ask them to ask you like I looked so why does every
single one of your clients tell me that six months ago they knew that you were
gonna scam me that six months ago you stopped working on all their stuff just
You know you can always say that you can take 100% responsibility
but that shifted completely to someone else
that's always a sneaky move to make
May be say like
You know what, This was 100% my fault
That you were offended
*laughs
Lets go through the apologies .I have selected a couple i have selected the most
*kisses quintessential apology videos that i think has defined
the.. the culture on this website. Yes my own is included
But lets just jump into it.
First of we have that
Trevor martin apology video
This video sort to became on meme itself
Just because its.. is a got damn piece of art
This apology video i mean Trevor martin *kisses
If this apology video was a fine wine... it would be a uh chondeau 1955
a la mon
verrryyy good
just to bring in context in case you weren't aware of this
I'm sure that most people know, but *deep breath* basically T. Martin
ran CS go gambling website he pretended that he had nothing to do with it and
look how much money I'm winning this is epic guys, look how much I'm winning all right
kids sign up for my website where you can win too - and oh what it came out that I
own the website what I'm the CEO of the website
what and here's the apology video so T Martin thought okay well I need to
address this in the best way possible Cooper I have no idea how I'm gonna
record this video dude
I can't stress enough I wish I loved this video okay guys okay guys because
we're only eight seconds in and don't really so much have happened first off
you start off with a dog that's an amazing thing to do you want to bring in
like a pet something that everyone loves everyone loves dogs and he doesn't just
bring in a pet he also has the pet for advice I have no idea how I'm gonna
record this video and the dog even looks sad I mean if this is not the perfect
apology video I don't know what is
if you can make it your pet looks sad for your apology video
you're done
hey edgar
he brings in the most beautiful sigh
i have ever heard
well diluted nostrils
his eyes are closed
he tells us you know what
this is me
THEN you have the background
not only is he sitting in the goddamn mansion
you know if you scam kids for money you kind of want to meet
seemed a little bit more subtle with it
maybe you want to not record in the
entrance hall
of YOUR mansion?????
how tall is that ceiling?
and on top of it all
HOW do you get your car
in the background of your video????
I'm sorry
how is that even possible
he does not only just get his mansion in
this apology video he gets his car in there as well
a nice little cameo
I mean I don't even know how I could possibly set up an
apology video to have my car in the background it doesn't get better than this
*sigh* alright guys so well I'm gonna try to make this as short and sweet as
possible I don't want to take up too much of your time but first and foremost
I do want to say that I-
he started off by saying that he doesn't want to waste
our time and then he proceeds to waste our time with saying how much he loves his fans
I love you guys you guys seriously mean the world to me you have
for the past 6 years that I've been on YouTube and you honestly have changed my
life like every single day I get to wake up and chase my dreams and follow my
passions and that's all been made possible-
because I lied to you
*lil skratta*
I'm sure he loves his fans just in the same way you love your money just in the same way
you love your car and your mansion so I don't necessarily think he's lying
I just think it's it's a good way to start a video you
want to make sure that you tell your fans how much you love them right off
the bat but and not acknowledge any wrongdoing that you've done just that
you have just so much love to give now my connection to csgo lotto has been a
matter of public record since the company was first organized in December
of 2015-
however I do feel like I owe you guys an apology I am sorry to each and every one
of you who vote like that was not made clear enough to you
I love this cuz he's been exposed
that his company
he was the CEO of the company
but there-the
response is basically:
it was public record- it was just public-????
its YOUR fault get it??
shifting blame this is what I'm talking about
it's YOUR fault
I'm not being disingenuous and I haven't been lying to you
it's your fault you know
you watch this video
go boys all right so I'm
gonna open up my-
it's your fault for not understanding how perfectly clear it is
that he actually owns his website
look at that well through a hot start baby
I mean this whole apology really is just-
it just seems like he's trying to cover his ass
legally speaking
and he even says it himself
please also know that I
am committed to making sure that my youtube channel as well as all of my
other businesses are in compliance with the law
they're in compliance with the law everybody
a great response you know if you've done something that people
don't like just just hit them with that:
it's a compliance with the law guys like
that ice cream of a kid it's a compliance with the law so what was the
repercussion with this well not much to be honest a lot of people thought you
know this would be a big scandal possibly jail time people said there
will be millions of dollars in fines what what was the verdict well basically
nothing I mean they got away with a warning from the FTC and essentially if
this happens again they will be fined roughly $40,000 which for someone like
tmartn seems like a pretty insignificant amount so really nothing really changed
but you know it was in compliance with the law as far as I can tell he saw
still uploading videos and I mean fair enough I guess I
no there's no reason to dwell on these things but I will always be grateful for
T Martin for the best apology video I would rate this apology video
it's an 8.5 I know I just said it was the best positivity of all the time but
it could be better let's go through why we have of course
Laura Lee's apology video now I didn't know who Laura Lee was apparently she
did some racist retweets it's just confusing this video to me because I
don't understand what is going on does it start does it honestly start like
this I wanna talk to you guys there is no tears the video has just started off
if you want it like why Pat's here you can start the video at any point this is
an amateur move what you want to do we just say you want to make sure you get
to the point of the tear break then you hit record you can't just you know what
what is this 12 seconds in and she said absolutely
nothing at all but rubbing her face in strange way and fake wipe tears this is
this is good this is what I meant with the white tee Martin's apology video
wasn't perfect because he didn't do this this is what team I would miss missing
the thing is when you're going through a controversy and the internet absolutely
hate you now I can speak from experience although I never cried personally from
it because I'm not a child or a whamon just joking you know it is a stressful
moment and I think that's what we're witnessing here this is not an apology
this is a I'm trying to fathom what is happening to me here I'm trying to
process what is going on right now this is not an apology this is a reaction
video to the outburst that is probably happening right now I imagine on Twitter
or in different news media
why is this so comedic I you know you're watching someone crying you're not
supposed to laugh right but I think most people think this is funny I don't know
why is it the rubbing I'm not buying it I don't think anyone is buying it oh
Jesus Christ what was that was that from the nose or the mouth or what happened
yeah oh you know what I'm sorry this is the perfect apology so some people
pointed out the reason why she's not really crying and then sometimes you see
tears this is stressed tears so she's not really crying because she feels bad
but she's crying because she's dealing with all these emotions happening which
is kind of aligns with what I said earlier as well disappointed not person
she practically hasn't said anything but I'm better so but haven't showed any
reason for us to believe why I don't know maybe I'm being mean now I can't
tell but I just find it interesting how she starts off with saying I'm better
I'm better now guys I'm cured look at me I six years ago decided to retweet
things that were so vile what laura-leigh does here is absolutely
amazing because when you mess up you want to underplay it as much as possible
you want to make sure that people get the lowest form of what you did so
instead of saying that she tweeted something it was a retweet and she goes
very hard in on six years ago it was six years ago how can you possibly still be
angry but that's the problem with these things people don't really care when it
happened stupid and I have no excuses here today
I'm not here to give you an excuse I have no excuses I'm only here to say
that I've done this as well this is a great you can't make excuses in your
apology video but it's just so damn hard not to so what you want to say is I'm
not making any excuses but then you can still sort of sneak excuses in there you
know it was six years ago I'm not making any excuses it was a retweet
I'm not making any excuses I'm glad there's captions here because I honestly
I don't know what she's saying
this goes on for four minutes and 44 seconds I can't I can't stay in this
video it's kind of like some things are just so bad that they're good this is
just bad I'm sorry again there's no excuse continues to give excuses alright
they've gotten her phone number they attacked a child again I feel weird
criticizing this but I think it's an important point it's not okay getting
death threats and I think everyone can agree on that but it's not a valid
excuse either if you get death threats take it up with a police there's no
reason to bring it up to your audience as a tool of defending yourself I've
seen this done so many times even by the media mainstream media as well oh we're
getting so many hateful comments or death threats or people are being so
mean or yadda yadda yadda you know it's sort of playing the victim mentality and
it's sort of saying that everyone that criticizes me is doing this thing so
what was the replication here well Lauren Lee was celebrating that she got
five million subscribers with the hamburger
saying five and then the comments are saying I'm confused on YouTube it says
4.4 meal hmm this is very confusing yeah about
that boy do I have news for you I think that's really the reason why we
got this reaction instead of an apology because she was losing subscribers and
you know you got to pull the plug quick you got to do something real fast if
that's happening I would rate this apology video as solid set it's it's
pretty good it hits most of the points that I
brought up earlier moving on we have of course Logan Paul I'm kind of sick of
talking about Logan Paul but it has 53 million views this is the most viewed
apology video of all time which is something I'm sure Logan feels very
proud of you know that was a joke but it's true I've made a severe and
continuous lapse on my judgment the funny thing I think the reason why I
love this apology video is that it was you know he did the mistake of making a
tweet first when you're in the drama or the internet is on your back you want it
you have to sort of assess the situation you know it's just gonna grow bigger you
know are people not gonna just care for a while like how far'd wage will go to
address this do I make a video do I just make a tweet and Logan full of
thought I'll just make a tweet and it's a beautiful tweet it's a beautiful thing
I'm sure everyone's seen this but here it hits all the good points as well
instead of apologizing just make sure that you can tell everyone how great you
are as a person you know how this is the first time you've ever made a mistake in
your life for example that's a good way to start
off an apology video how you get so many views on your channel that this drama
doesn't even mean anything to you that's always a great way to acknowledge it as
well how you upload videos frequently and how hard you work on those videos
which has nothing to do with the situation and then say how much power
and influence you had I mean where's the apology in this it's absolutely
beautiful and I think the cherry on the top is the emoji a good apology ends
with an emoji and a hashtag otherwise it's not either wise don't even talk to
me about apologies hashtag Logan for life but the video is pretty good III
you know obviously a lot of people hate Logan but I you know he addressed that
he what he did was wrong that's that you know what else can you do a lot of
people have been commenting that he's clearly reading from a script'
and all these things and oh he scripted his apology and I get that but clearly
you want to have some idea of what you want to say this is usually a pretty
important video and you want to make it right so I don't really see that as an
argument obviously if it's completely script that it comes across as
disingenuous and maybe someone else said it but overall I think that's fine I
don't know maybe that's just my opinion no I did not script all my apology
videos okay I've made a severe and continuous lapse of my judgment a good
apology video sounds like someone else wrote it okay what you want to make sure
it's a use language that you don't typically use in your videos so it
people can know that it's not you who wrote this apology someone else did so
you can read it out I made a severe and continuous lapse of my judgement which
totally doesn't say I want to apologize to the internet when you make an apology
video you want to make sure that you apologize not to the people affected or
at least not first you want to apologize to that people that are angry first I
want to apologize to the Internet the internet apologize to anyone who's seen
the video the people who see in the video most importantly I want to
apologize to the victim and his family and then the person the most important
one put that last that's the last that's the last thing on the list I don't
expect to be forgiven I will be better thank you it's a pretty good apology
video I I don't have that much else to say about it but it would be better if
he ended with look in for life this is my personal opinion if I had to give any
feedback if you guys need any help with your apology videos always reach out to
me I I'm here to help now we're running a bit low on time so I want to just give
a quick shout out to some response videos we have of course jenna Marbles
famous 47 minute long what happened to my fish's video it's a forty seven
minute long apology video it is the Atlas of apology
videos a lot of people use this apology video as an example when someone makes a
oh they did this horrible thing and they just did a two minute response video
with jenna marble did something simple wrong and she made a 47 minute long
video so if you were actually really sorry
you may would have made a five hour long video you would have made a 24 hour
livestream apology video if you were really sorry I've just been seeing a lot
of people make this argument which of course makes no sense I do like this
video it's really funny and it's a I don't know in a bizarre way it's not
really an apology video it's just Jenna giving an explanation to what she did
wrong apparently she bought fishes and the way she treated them instructed by
the general store manager was incorrect so people in the internet got angry that
this is not how you treat the fishes and then she made a video responding to ok
I've learned and this is how you do it basically I am that's I think at least
what I got out of it which is nice you know because a lot of people don't know
these things and if the store manager gives you the wrong information it's
nice that she took a chance to give the Internet the right information as well I
mean obviously most people don't know how to treat a face I mean we also have
the famous fine brother response video which looking back on it's kind of sad
isn't it you guys remember this that's over what this all is has been so
overwhelming and what we've realized is that we completely screwed up with how
we originally because I mean I feel bad I met them I know they're nice dudes
I've only met them once so I can't say like yeah they're amazing like they're
legit but I don't think they had bad intention but this apology video is just
so awful it's just terrible it's the worst apology video it seems it kind of
comes across as their scolding you you know they basically try to copy right
that's right can we copyright they copyrighted the world react because they
own the YouTube channel react so people are like no you shouldn't try and
copyright react because then you can just copy strike everyone else I put
react in the title this is actually true but they're saying no we're not going to
do that even if that wasn't your intention you
shouldn't try and do that so it's just some saying no you're wrong you're wrong
we're not we would never do this you're wrong the thing is they're not youtubers
they produce videos they don't sit in front of the camera they have other
people sitting from the camera for just this reason so things could definitely
have gone a lot better they seemed like you're doing fine now anyway so it
doesn't really matter it's one of those things that really shows you in my
opinion how important it is to make sure you do an apology video the right way
because then you know if your intentions are pure that doesn't necessarily come
across in a video so I think this is a good example of that so for example we
have a YouTube channel youtube.com slash react so we're trying to protect it and
not run the risk of losing our channel name thanks to someone else getting the
trademark but just because we have or might get trademarks doesn't mean we're
going to run around and start taking down videos you dummies I guess I got a
watch mine I mean I can't sitting criticize other people's reactions and
not acknowledge my own first of all I mean what is that cup doing there could
you not have moved that goddamn cup it's so annoying to me I don't know why
second of all already the posture I mean I'm clearly in a very different position
here hi guys sorry this is not how you make apologies you see I still have
things to learn I also look a bit angry I don't look very happy I'm no I'm not I
wasn't happy no surprise I wasn't that hello I wanted to make a statement on
what I said in my previous livestream you probably won't believe me when I say
this but whenever I go online and I hear other players use the same kind of
language that I did I always find it extremely immature and stupid and I hate
how I now personally fed into that part of gaming as well this is true I still
believe this but I haven't given anyone a reason to believe this at this point
so it's kind of stupid to bring that up in the beginning I would say the thing
that I said in the heat of the moment I said the word
now because I said the heat of the moment that has just become a meme that
has just transpired through YouTube it was a heat of the moment guys come on it
was just a heat of the moment you know I didn't mean for this just sound like an
excuse but a 100% comes across an excuse so I never should have said that and I'm
not gonna make any excuses to why it did because there are no excuses for it
accepts you you basically just made a bunch of excuses for it you idiot
a very good way to thank okay that's how I should have started it honestly
whatever it doesn't matter at this point it's interesting looking back though at
how different I feel I'm really sorry if I offended hurt or disappointed anyone
with all of this being in the position I am I should know better yeah I keep I
keep forgetting about that part don't I how long ago was this not bad it's not
bad I think I'm doing okay I owe it crops in here because you know when you
make an apology video you want to keep the cuts as low as possible because if
you just if you have it a consistent cuts in it and people are just gonna
think it's fake it's kind of like you're reading off a script or something like
that kind of like the Laura Lee video has
constant cuts in it despite you know it's just being said nothing in it but I
wanted to make sure that the last bit came across properly because I thought
it was important to say that you know I don't want this to keep happening
because obviously this is the second time I messed up big time and I want to
make sure that people know that I'm not planning for this to happen again yes
there was the thing with the tweet ahh! okay that was insensitive but it wasn't maybe
as big of the Alessa tease that this at least one of the things that I've
learned from my mistakes is that there's a clear difference in what mainstream
media or news outlet wants to think about something and what people actually
think about something I was given so much advice that looking back on I am so
glad I didn't take if you want to make a good apology video just be honest
don't try and think that you can trick the internet because you can people
people are smarter than you think and they'll see through the whole
it's bullsh a it's easy to for me to say this looking back of course but it might
be a good lesson for everyone out there that's it for YouTube apology videos
there's clearly a lot more of them but we're way over time so smash like
goodbye!

Full Roulette of Hazards! | 500K Subcribers Special :) - Duration: 11:09.
Five hundred thousand...
Half a million...
Halfway to a million!
No matter how many times I repeat it to myself
I can't believe so many people have subscribed to my non-mainstream channel!
Thank you very much to each and every one of you.
Thank you for giving me a place here on YouTube.
I want to celebrate this massive milestone
by doing a little experiment for every hazard in my hazard-roulette.
I've never used them all in a single video. Until now...
Let's start with magnetism - the backbone of my channel.
This will be a challenge for you to think about.
I want you to have a guess at how many of the following objects can be lifted by a magnet.
An incandescent light bulb...
An LED bulb...
A soda can...
A glass bead...
And an iron supplement - also known as an iron pill.
How many of these five can be lifted by this magnet?
I haven't given you much info, so consider it carefully
and I'll give you the answer later in the video.
For radioactivity, I would like to follow up on my latest video
where I showed the weak magnetism of thorium
in my series 'Exotic Elements vs. Magnet'.
In an earlier part I showed uranium near a magnet
but I have never managed to show the paramagnetism of uranium.
I want to fix that but first, let's just confirm it is still radioactive.
Of course it is.
The half-life of uranium-238 is 4.5 billion years
so the Sun will burn out before this stops being radioactive.
Time to test its magnetism on a sensitive waterbath.
There's a lot of glass compared to the 500 mg of uranium
so this will not be easy.
The first result is a failure...
The sample is repelled by the magnet.
This is the diamagnetism of the glass.
Not the attractive paramagnetism of uranium I'm looking for.
I need to get closer to the uranium and use a magnet with a farther reaching magnetic field.
There we have it.
Uranium is attracted to a magnet!
So now you know and have even seen it too.
I will have to revisit the lanthanides too so part 7 is on my long to-do-list of videos.
Moving on to high-voltage, which is an area I haven't touched in my videos yet.
But it certainly will happen in the future
because there are some truly interesting topics to cover here.
For now, you will have to do with these 'proof-of-concept'-shots.
I'm playing with electrons using a plasma ball as a safe high-voltage source.
I will make a video where I look into the science of this beautiful display.
Make sure you have clicked the notification bell
if you would like to see the video.
My videos easily drown in your other subscriptions.
Blood is the only biohazard I have featured in a video.
It was in the popular 'Monster magnet meets blood...'.
I want to follow up on that by letting a magnet touch the blood directly.
to see if anything in it sticks to a magnet.
If you are sensitive to blood - close your eyes now and just listen...
All right, the blood is out again.
Let's put a magnet in it and see if anything from the blood collects on the pole of the magnet.
Hm hm, nice color! But I don't see anything sticking to the pole of the magnet.
I try to explain why in the original video.
There are superparamagnetic molecules in our bodies
that could stick to magnet - like ferritin and hemosiderin.
They luckily just aren't freely floating around in our blood.
Still no reasons to worry about being near a magnet despite our iron content.
I wonder about that iron pill...
In my video 'Burn it! Ferrofluid vs. Ferripaste'
I set fire to both over a magnet.
But I didn't move the magnet.
What will happen if I move the magnet while they are on fire?
Only one way to find out...
I'm starting with ferrofluid.
There we go. Time to move the magnet.
Meh... not much different than with a steady magnet.
Or... so I thought...
- Oops...
Don't copy my mistakes. Just learn from them, ahem...
What you see is a thermal shock in the glass.
By stirring the fluid with the magnet
it burned faster than with the steady magnet.
Faster burn equals faster rise in temperature
so the glass didn't have time to spread the heat.
The center expanded much faster from the heat than the outer part.
The glass couldn't handle this stress and decided to split.
Will it be the same with ferripaste?
This did better.
It is a paste and isn't stirred in the same way.
It just wiggles and didn't heat the glass as fast.
But as always: Don't let fire play with you!
Ahah, lasers! One of my favorite topics.
I love the laser tunnel effect.
It looks awesome and is not difficult or expensive to pull off.
I need to make a video about it.
For now, just enjoy my test shots.
- Woah!
Time to test, which can be lifted by the magnet.
The incandescent bulb is attracted to the magnet
but not enough to be lifted.
The other one is easily picked up by the magnet.
The main difference seems to be the metal base
where the incandescent's is made of aluminium
and the LED's of some cheaper steel.
And speaking of aluminium and steel.
The soda can...
... is magnetic.
This contains iron since it is made of tin-plated steel.
Not an aluminium alloy like the more common alu-can.
The top, though, is made of aluminium.
How about the glass bead?
Glass is usually repelled by a magnet as shown in the uranium test.
But this one is different!
It can be lifted by a magnet since it is doped with gadolinium.
It's so odd seeing glass sticking to a magnet.
The iron pill...
... is not lifted.
Like with the iron in our blood
there's no pure, elemental iron in it.
It contains a tiny amount of ferrous fumarate
which is magnetic enough for the pill to follow the magnet
but not enough to be lifted.
So three of them could be lifted. Did you guess right?

Top 10 Scary Scottish Urban Legends - Duration: 13:11.
Starting off at number 10 we have The Gorbals Vampire
Alright next up we've got the gorbals vampire.
Back in September of 1954, the children from Gorbals in Glasgow went on a monster hunt
looking for the creature that killed their two friends and drank their blood.
For 3 nights, hundreds of children between 4 and 14 carried knives, stakes, clubs and
crucifixes stormed into the creepy necropolis graveyard known locally as the city of the
dead.
They were hunting a vampire that was said to be 7 feet tall with blood red eyes and
sharp iron teeth.
The children called him, the gorbals vampire.
This was actually a real event.
On september 23rd, constable Alex Deeprose was called to the City of the dead because
of a disturbance, and found hundreds of armed kids looking for a vampire.
Local news outlets picked up the story.
Headlines said things like 'amazing scene as hundreds of children rush cemetary'.
But the report about the 2 missing children was false, the police heard of no missing
children reports at the time.
The gorbals vampire was dismissed as an urban legend, and some say that the kids were inspired
by american comic books like Tales From The Crypt and The Vault of Horror.`
9. we have The Devils in the Binns.[a] The house of the Binns is an old Scottish ancestral
home.
General Tam Dalyell was the head of the Dalyell family in the 17th century.
While he lived there, Tam claimed that every night the Devil visited him every night for
a game of cards.
He said that the Devil usually won - in retrospect, this was actually a good thing.
One night, the Devil appeared as usual and as usual, the Devil and Tam sat down to play
cards.
This night was different though - this night, for the first time ever, Tam seemed to be
getting the upper hand.
As the game went on, the Devil got more and more angry - eventually, when the game looked
lost for him, he flew into a rage.
The Devil threw a marble at Tam, it missed and instead landed in the Sergeants pond outside
the house.
For many years, people laughed at Tam and dismissed his story as nonsense.
Then, over 200 years later, the pond outside was drained - and what should they find buried
in the mud at the bottom but a single, shiny marble …
Moving right along now to Abandoned Annie.
The City Chambers is a famous building in Edinburg with ancient alleys that run beneath.
The streets below the city chambers are said to be haunted, and they attract psychics,
ghost hunters and mediums.
This is because back in the 16th and 17th centuries, this particular area of edinburgh
was hit extremely hard by the plague.
The streets used to be littered with bodies and sick people who were banished and left
for dead.
After the 18th century, the abandoned homes and alleys were sealed, but that doesnt stop
people from venturing there.
There have been many strange noises and sightings reported, but most notably, a psychic claims
to have come into contact with the ghost of a young girl named annie.
Abandoned Annie is a story that began in 1992, after a japanese psychic called Aiko Gibo
went to the close as a part of a documentary on paranormal activity.
When the group were touring the area, she came accross a room that she at first was
too afraid to enter.
She said the room had a terrible feeling of sickness, hunger and cold.
But then Aiko went inside the room, because she said she was invited in by the ghost of
a little girl named annie who had died of the plague.
Annie grabbed her hand and said that she had been abandoned by her family, and she said
had lost her doll.
Aiko later went back to the room with a barbie for annie to play with, and since then, visitors
to annies room are told to bring a gift for her.
There is now a pile of toys created by people who have visited the room.
To this day, people report feeling sick, uneasy and cold while visiting annies room, despite
the fact that there is no historical record of any girl called annie, and the story has
been dismissed as a popular urban myth.
An urban myth that actually has a happy purpose.
Along with toys, people leave money for annie, and at the end of every year, the money is
counted and given to The Sick Kids Hospital.
So far, annie has raised more than 45 thousand pounds for other sick children.
Next up at number 7 we have the A75[b].
This is the name of whats said to be the most haunted road in Scotland.
It runs through the county of Dumfriesshire and has been a hup for reports of supernatural
activity over the years.
Its attracted paranormal investigators from all over.
Kathleen Crone is the founder of Mostly Ghostly.
She said -There have been screaming hags, eyeless phantoms and a menagerie of unearthly
creatures witnessed on this famous road- … In 1962, one of the most famous sightings occurred
on the road.
Derek and Norman Ferguson were driving along the road when a large hen flew into the windscreen
of their car.
They then saw huge cats and other creatues pass by as well as a phantom furniture van
- all of which vanished into thin air.
In the years since then, the number of stories has grown to the point where some truck drivers
avoid the A75 altogether.
Alright its time for number 6, its The Boneless.
The true story of the boneless comes from The shetland Islands, a group of small islands
off the coast of scotland who were once terrorized by a ghostly blob.
Stories about a ghostly apparition called the boneless and sometimes a frittening have
been whispered on the Shetland Island for years now.
Its based on an account found in the book, shetland traditional lore by jessie saxby.
Although no one could describe the apparition properly, People called it the boneless because
witnesses say it looked like a giant glowing white blob.
Others said it looked like a jellyfish or a slimy white cloud.
The boneless would appear pressed up against windows, and it never made a sound.
It could move though, apparently it could move faster than a dog.
If you happened to find yourself face to face with the boneless, you would cower in fear,
and often die of fright.
Theres a story of one boy who was dragged by the boneless to the edge of a cliff.
He described it as smelling like rotting flesh.
As he heard the waves crashing below, he grabbed the rocks and hung on for life.
The boneless rolled off the cliff and disappeared, and the boy managed to drag himself back to
his home to tell his parents.
Next at number 5 we've got the haunting of castle stuart.
The story goes like this: The Earl of Moray inherited Castle Stuart from his father.
He wanted to rent it out, but couldnt because the castle had such a bad reputation.
So the earl tried to improve the castles reputation by offering a reward to any man who was brave
enough to spend the night in castle stuart.
News about the reward spread and eventually 4 men agreed.
A minister, an elder in the presbyterian church, a local shoemaker and the last was a large
man named rob angus.
The deal was, each of the men had to spend an entire night alone in a haunted room.
Once they were inside, the door would be locked, and wouldnt be unlocked until the next morning.
The minister fell asleep in the room and had a dream about a blood spattered man who sat
down next to him.
When he woke up, no one was there.
The elder had a similar experience.
While he was reading his bible, the door to the room sprang open, and in walked a man
covered in blood.
The man drew his dagger on the elder, who fainted.
He was found the next morning in complete shock.
When it was the shoemakers turn, he heard the door open, a tall man with hooves for
feet appeared in the doorway.
The being jumped at the shoemaker and he fainted in terror.
He was found unconcious on the floor the next morning.
And lastly, it was rob angus' turn.
Rob angus was a big strong scotsman who said he wasnt afraid of anything.
As the servant closed the door to his room, he said, you will find me as i am, or dead.
When the servant returned in the morning, the furniture in the room was broken and all
over the place, but there was no sign of rob.
But then he looked out the window, and saw rob angus lying on the ground dead.
At some point, rob angus fell out the window or was pushed.
Various sightings and reports of paranormal activity over the years have Given Castle
Stuart the reputation of being one of the most haunted castles in the world.
Coming in at number 4 now we have Arthur's Seat Coffin[c].
This one comes from Edinborough.
Arthur's Seat is a rocky hill there.
One day, in 1836, 5 local boys discovered an entrance to a small cave on the rugged
north eastern face of the famous hill.
There, they found some intricately carved miniature figures set in coffins.
I know - creepy.
The 17 coffins had been left undisturbed for an unknown amount of times.
Each casket contained expertly carved human effigies creepily dressed in unique clothing.
They had painted black boots on and twisted facial expressions.
In the years since, these creepy coffins have defied all attempts to explain them.
This has opened the door to a number of creepy urban legends surrounding them - the most
popular is that they were created to commemorate the 17 victims of the notorious Edinburgh
murderers and grave robbers Burke and Hare.
Im no relation to that Burke though - OK maybe somewhere along the line.
Awkward.
Sawney Bean Getting close now, at number 3 we've got
Sawney Bean, scotland's most famous cannibal.
Not much is known about Sawney Bean but he was said to have been born in the late 15th
century.
He married a woman who was said to be a witch and moved to Bennane Cave in Aryshire with
his new wife.
Sawney supported his wife by being a robber.
But rather than risk being caught, Sawney murdered his victims, and disposed of the
evidence by eating the remains.
The couple started having children, a lot of them, fourteen to be exact, and fed them
a high protien diet of human flesh.
Eventually the children grew up, and had their own children born of incest, and before long,
the cave was inhabited by an entire extended family of 48 cannibals, all with a taste for
human flesh.
The family remained undiscovered, and would ambush unfortunate victims, steal their money
and eat them.
Local authorities would find decaying body parts, sometimes pickled, washed up on the
surrounding beaches.
Eventually King James of scotland heard about the Sawney's and orchestrated a 400 men
manhunt of the cave.
They found it full of human remains and stolen valuables.
Sawney Bean was reportedly executed for the mass murder of over 1000 people, but most
historians believe that sawney never existed, and his story was nothing more than an urban
legend.
Moving on to number 2 we have Ghillie Dhu.
In Scottish legend, he's a solitary Scottish male fairy that lives alone in the forest.
He disguises himself in trees so as not to be seen by humans.
His light green skin and long branch arms make it almost impossible for people to spot
him.
However, its important to note that the Ghillie Dhu is usually only this elusive to adults.
He's been known to appear and interact with friendly children.
Its important to remember though that this doesnt mean every interaction is a good one.
He has been known to prey on people lost in the woods, killing or enslaving them.
Perhaps the strangest thing I read about this creature is that he is said to collect the
teeth of children to perform protective magic on them.
This has led to some people believing that the Ghillie Dhu actually gave birth to the
legend of the tooth fairy, a much lighter story.
I don't think the tooth fairy has killed or enslaved anyone.
If you know otherwise, let me know.
And finally at number 1 we have The Mackenzie Poltergeist[d].
This is perhaps the most famous ghost story in all of Scotland.
The Black Mausoleum is the name of a tomb in Edinburghs Greyfriars Cemetery and has
become famous as the home of an evil paranormal entity.
Over the years, visitors have reported feeling extreme hot spots and cold spots.
They leave with cuts, bruises and burns on their bodies.
Photographic evidence for the legend includes pictures of these injuries as well as pictures
from inside the tomb that some claim show an unidentified shape.
Others have reported seeing a white figure in the dark, smelling strange odors and hearing
knocking noises under the ground and even from inside the tomb itself.
If that wasnt enough, locals have gone to the grave some days to find dead animals in
front of the Black Mausoleum.
Some people have even claimed to have been possessed which led to the grounds being exercised
twice, both unsuccessfully.
In the past few decades, it seems as though the Mackenzie poltergeist has become to spread.
Poltergeist activity has been reported in four different houses around the graveyard
and in 2002, a large fire broke out in the residences behind George Mackenzies tomb.
