Hi everyone Simon here Bangkok Chronicles whatever number as per usual

I forgot the numbers slightly different today we're going to jump onto my dating

with the wife a year after I moved to Bangkok I've been dating my wife mainly

on Sundays sometimes occasional evening and as we

got towards the end of that year it was apparent that we were falling for each

other we had fallen for each other we were moving on to the next level and it

was great it was fantastic we decided after pretty much a term limits of

dating that men should give up her job and move into the condo with me now this

as so many of you guys or with partners moving in wherever you are in the world

everything changes when you move in together huge culture shock I suddenly

lost all my space or my single life but for them it was even bigger she was

given up a job she'd been in for years ten thousand bar salary she was taking a

gamble getting involved with a foreigner she didn't speak my language I didn't

speak their language to any big degree we had the translator the little

calculator thing but we had to somehow come to an arrangement almost like a

business deal because of our different backgrounds culture and plans now

luckily one of her close friends spoke really good English

I remember it well we I went down to near her room to a cafe and with their

friend we sat and we spoke for a couple of hours and a friend translated and we

worked ate as I say it was like a business deal

mam had person that she was contributing thousand baht a month which was twenty

twenty-five dollars she was contributing the same to her

mother up in Petra boo she was paying for her room her food and saving 500

baht a month by moving with me as boyfriend/girlfriend she Thai people are

very money-oriented so family's number one her son and mother were where the

list before me and she was very inquisitive on how she would make some

money whether she I'd want her to work in

Bangkok whether she was wanted to work support her family it became apparent

very quickly that however far we went and if we went on to get married that I

would have to accept her family and support them I understood all this and

with the translator there I got my head around it all I explained to her that

financially I would give her money every week so she had money in the pocket and

potentially we would earn money together hopefully she would help me and we'd go

forward and see how it went all agreed just about the business and she moved

into my condo from that moment for the all the work I'd done in the first year

it was hard but I'd got there and I was making really good money that first year

I started if you remember at the beginning with three thousand dollars in

my bank at the end of the first year I had it

was floating around in PayPal accounts and banks two different banks UK and

Thailand but $25,000 complete profit from a year of trading in Bangkok I

hadn't hardly spent any money on me just bits and pieces just worked alone

plate done so well that first year 24 hours $25,000 so there was rainy day

money there I was set up I was homesick but now I was in love so

it was just carry on in Bangkok in my head and as soon as mam moved in the

first month was so many amazing things happened she was younger than me so it

was almost like teaching someone a new way of life and she was teaching me her

culture her religion we try to teach other teach each other our languages my

sign language my members computer computer she was computer literate

really good on computers she was great with numbers and she was brilliant with

exchange rates and the different currencies I didn't realize but of

course from her job the first week it was amazing I had to get her water some

couple of bits of furniture and some bits and pieces for that for the condo

and I showed her around the immediate vicinity

she knew platinum roughly anyway showed her my little cafe downstairs in the car

park for breakfast and but she preferred another wall but I had to keep working I

had to keep moving and the best moment I remember is on one of the first few days

we went out at a quick walk around platinum and I had to go to Chinatown

the lady I was buying the handbags off the main lady had given me the nod of

the week before that she was getting some special really good bags coming in

and that for me to go so I can remember it was midweek me and Matt jumped in a

taxi across to China tank and again men she

didn't use taxis much he would use buses and things so this was peak on upper

level we were just taxiing everywhere she was amazed you know okay

flying around so he got into China time I popped in a couple of shops to buy

some bits and pieces some of those Jewelers loops and supple of the cheap

watches back over to the handbag and I walked into the shop where the lady was

every time I went into this shop the lady would I do buy it so much offer her

assistant would run across the road to a7 and get a bottle of water and a

coffee from seven of them sent me down coughing water

this was member shot and the lady in that shop spoke a little bit of English

men just saw all these handbags and the hidden room behind with all the

counterfeit handbags and and was a maze I mean typical woman he was just like a

child on the candy store and I said to go look room the lady I was buying off

took because both actually into the back room and pulled out these bags and they

were bright red and white multicolored Gucci bags she pulled the one bag which

were the counterfeit ones and then was just amazed and she was into them

looking at them her I of detail she was checking every inch over every stitch

enjoying but I had an arrangement with the woman if I had any faulty bags all

the work wasn't happy with I just bring the bank she swapped them em didn't know

this but then she pulled out the bag of these equivalent to Gucci so they were

all the white bag of all the colors but over

no marks on them different clasps and hinges just look great they were amazing

I was pen as I mentioned anything from 150 to 250 bars a bag if I wanted the

kind if it was about 350 but that that by I knew straight away just from the

learning that it was a new integrity shops it was a new bag he was kind of

sell like hotcakes

50 bags I said 50 bags which was and they put all the bags in this big thick

plastic green bin liner but 50 bags is quite a bit you know it's like two and

three big bags she pulled out 50 bags men was looking at me thinking what are

you doing I could just see her say you're buying handbags you're a man

fifty handbags and I pulled out it was ten thousand bark for those 50 bags was

like 250 billion or two hundred ten thousand but I just pulled out real dogs

just bang and then if to see her face that was a month's salary

I just spent on all these handbags she didn't have the clothes like what each

read her face anyway I pointed at one of the case of bags because they were

beautiful and I'd said to him you want one and she's like how much you know

don't worry the woman ought to give me the bag free

but I always paid her I paid it 350 but whatever

so I got their bits and it was a short trip it was go over get these bags get

back to the condo angry can if just after lunch trap it was pretty bad and I

said we're gonna get back to condo now I was just about to hail a taxi with that

traffic it would have took an hour tell me about four five kilometers but

with that traffic an hour and then got one of the big bags I think I have one

half bags and she's like okay what's what was he on about

I have no took took the ones up to drag me she knew Chinatown quite well because

she's part Chinese she'd come up quite a lot for meals anyway she took me back

Danielle yellow rat road and then snuck off to the one side there was one of

these humpback bridges on the main road humpback bridges at the top of yellow

are at road there's one humpback bridge she walked me to there on the pavement

and then down some steps we're looking down and I'm thinking that's a canal

clung as the toys for a second now what on earth are we walking down here for

and she like you so down we go these steps there's a pavement home I've just

on the one side nothing on the other side just a bit of a pavement walkway

we're no longer about 20 meters there's a couple of posts there and she just

stopped there and then along came this long boat it's the Good Seats in it go

about with an it big engine like a car engine the canvas roof in the middle

section with poles coming down and he pulled up onto us members rated

something to him basically what number are you or what gives a taxi what number

where you go in worked out fire I probably get on a boat we want to go

back to the condo yeah it was the right one she's it pushed me in I get past me

the bags inside yet 20 but 20 bottom and she paid the guy

off we went steady speed but a one-part it was really quick and the water was

splashing you then I boat come the other way

water taxes when he went past the wave come up along my arm and get wet here

but it wasn't too bad I'm homeless clung and then suddenly he did a 90-degree

turn quite quick as well off then another call so he must spin about 2

kilometers pulls up next another walkway says something to men mmm he threw the

one bag up she let up on sir there's many steps are

in the busy bar the whole chief left up onto the side I threw the other bag open

and I climbed 8 and then she sort of nodded at the guy and off he went I was

good great but where the hell are we wait wait wait wait don't come another

one just nope wrong one another one come along yes even we get

again 20 buck that's 40 bar if it's a zip so long another couple of kilometers

round a couple of corners different clouds stopped a we got up the steps and

we were on the bridge by the sea town center the big sea opposite side of our

condo Pecha berry road but he surely we were there but we still had because you

had the water and a corner and go up over one of those big overpasses the

roads HP Road was a big lanes so it's a big walk we're at the top of the road

foot for pedestrians so all these bags at the steps over the walkway then we're

like five minutes of the conduct food you know when do some foods go back to

the condo and your is going to be tapping away on the computer so men

grabbed a load of Thai food from the one corner saw 19 and 17 there was great

food Thai food around there fabulous she grabbed a load I wanted to

tell them cigarettes bits and pieces my coffee was these little bags little

singular strips it was three and one Nescafe you just pour that into a cup

hot water it had sugar in it had creamer in it and it's got tasty great there

were a couple of parts actually were I used to buy a big bag of about 80 or 90

anyway 7-eleven was just there grab some stuff

from there got myself some questions which was a favor of mine if we went to

the condo and then still no idea what these bags back to the condo and I know

15 minutes would go on of it I then for the next 24 hours punched in all these

new bags did all the photos photography first laughing she was amazed I was

doing all this but she couldn't understand did everything listed them

all got everything sorted laptop was plugged into the screen that some child

like me got it all done now the first one of those Gucci bags I show mem on

Lion Gucci store there's the bag England but it wasn't nothing markings for Gucci

shoulder and she was amazed put on any Bay the first why I put on I didn't put

a Buy It Now price like most of the ones I did I just set it at like five pounds

seven dollars awesome it just to see if it will find its own price on what it

was start selling for set it all got it going and this was early evening and I

showed ma'am there was all these round of stuff I got listed he'd go read zero

when someone bid you'd go green and go green in one bid or two bid and the

price and I showed at that she sat there amazed watching it glued

and within 15 minutes because it was early evening it was early morning

stateside maybe the west east coast but customers over there the bid started

coming in and she saw the red zero go to green like number one number two he

watched the price now he knew them I'd put them on dollars I think and she knew

the dollar by exchange rate and she knew that I paid 250 bars which was about

three peppers my five dollars she knew that was the point five dollars

and I'd got a postage below so that was covered and I explained that there and

she watched the price and the beats came in this handbag was probably one of the

best I ever had wasn't going to go huge money because it didn't have the Gucci

stuff on it but her face was a picture I thought it was going to go to about

forty dollars up over that nice went up to sixty dollars saqib one

she was calculate I could see her face come kept looking at me England and over

the next few days and I sold all those 50 bags average about forty dollars

great profit then she started tweaking what I was doing or carrying this one on

tell you what that max with her and how she changed over there for me

Ciao Everybody, this is Marco from Sons of Social with our usual weekly social media

tip.

This week I just want to talk about something very quick, a very easy strategy that you

can implement on your business - whatever your business is, whatever industry you're

in - to attract more people to your social media profiles.

To do that I want to use a real example, something that really happened to me, and this is this

little product here that I got yesterday in the mail.

The product is actually a camera strap, so a strap that you put around your neck to carry

your camera around, but what I really want to look at is the packaging and what's inside

the packaging.

Keep in mind you can use this on any business, so even if you're a service-based business

you can use this.

Inside the packaging I found this little flyer here, which I thought was really cool.

It's about...it tells you about the company, about the product itself and obviously it's

got the social media handles, Instagram handles here and hashtags that you can use if you

want to feature their product on Instagram, and at the back it's got the Facebook profile

as well.

So, first lesson here is put your Instagram, Facebook, or whatever platform you're using,

put your social media links and usernames everywhere on your marketing.

So if you have a flyer put that on the flyer, if you have an email signature out that at

the bottom of your email signature, if you have a brochure put it on the brochure, if

you have a website put it on the website.

Every marketing...

every touchpoint that you have with your customers is an opportunity for you to promote your

website and your social media profiles.

What I really liked about this flyer though, is the...the way they've done it.

They haven't just told me to follow them on Instagram and Facebook, they've added more

to it.

For example at the back here you can see, they say "don't forget Facebook, share your

photography page with us so we can see all of your awesome work", and then they have

the Facebook URL at the bottom.

This is a great way to do it because not only they're telling me to follow them on Facebook

but they're giving me a reason to do it, and they know they audience very well because

they say "share your photography page with us so that we can see al of your work".

They understand that photographers, or people that like photography, all they want is to

share their photos, and be seen and share their photos with the public and see other

people's photos as well.

So they understand that and that's what they're asking you to do.

So obviously people are going to be like "oh cool, I have a photography page, I'm going

to share it with them on Facebook".

So two takeaways, first of all put your social media name, profile name, everywhere on your

marketing and second of all give them a reason to follow [you].

Tell them what's on your Facebook page, on your Instagram profile, on your YouTube channel,

tell them what they can find there and you'll see you'll get a lot more people follow you.

This is the tip for today, don't forget to comment on the section below and let us know

your thoughts and I'll get back to you.

Also if you like this video Like it and Share it with your friends and with any business

owners that could benefit from this.
