826 Valencia is a non-profit organization

that supports students from under-resourced schools and communities.

We work with tutors to provide the students with individualized attention to their writing.

We present the idea, we present the prompt, we do brainstorming with the students.

So the prompt that we presented to the kids is: what it would be like to live on a planet ruled by love?

We know that technology and technological literacy are crucially important for this generation.

Google wanted to collaborate with us on a project,

they are going to create a virtual reality, 360, film experience.

We are really excited to take this technology

and to create a story that is based entirely on our students writing and their ideas.

They don't really know what to expect.

I think they are going to be shocked and so proud of what they wrote.

I am super excited about the kids understanding how much we all care about what they have to say.

The Universe invites us to the planet of love.

Love spread on this planet by saying nice words.

People act like themselves, they don't have to be the same.

We play soccer.

The ball says: perfect and good job!

People's homes are made out of marshmallows.

There are also unicorn loves.

It's wonderful because families spend time with each other.

When I saw the movies is when my imagination came to life.

It is so big.

It's in your eye.

It is made by kids.

Yeah, real kids.

I love it, I watched it three times.

I know that, this is going to stay with them forever.

Google Slides - Insert a Straight Line - Duration: 0:27.

If you're using Google slides and you want to insert a line, that can be

relatively easy because you just go to line and you draw it on here. But, if

you're trying to get it straight, there's just a little trick. It'll take you one second

to learn. Hold down the shift key and then, when you drag it left to right, it

stays in a straight line. Then, you just let go of the mouse and you're done.

It's in a straight line!

Accessing e-Books & Google Books - Duration: 1:57.

Find e-books using OneSearch on the library home page.

Narrow your results to e-books using the sidebar.

Look for the links that say online access.

From the item record, select the full-text available link. If you are off campus, you'll be asked to sign in with your CSUN ID.

The Oviatt's e-book collection is on different platforms, so the interface is going to look a little

different and have different options depending on which one you are on.

You may need to look for links or buttons that say "full-text" or "read" to get to the book.

Google Books is also a great option for accessing books online. You can find it at books.google.com.

If you don't have a particular title in mind, you can use it to search for your topic.

Even if you can only get a preview of a book, it's still handy for looking at its table of contents or index to see if a book has

what you need before going all the way to the library to get it.

You can also do a search inside the book to see if it has the information you're looking for.

Click on About This Book, and you'll find reviews, related books, bibliographic information and more.

Look for Find in a Library, and you'll be connected to WorldCat, a worldwide catalog that lets you see if the book is available here

at CSUN, or at a nearby library.

Despite its name, you can use Google Books to search magazines, too.

From your results page, click on tools. Select "magazines" from the document options pulldown menu.

You can further refine your search by clicking on settings and selecting the advanced search menu
