Tottenham could steal Gareth Bale from Man Utd as they have first option to by Real superstar

TOTTENHAM could beat Manchester United to the signing of Gareth Bale. Shrewd Spurs chairman Daniel Levy insisted on a first option clause being included in the Welshmans world-record Real Madrid switch.

Real Madrid star Gareth Bale is in Super Cup action tonight. And should United have a bid accepted by Los Blancos, the North Londoners would have 72 hours to match the bid.

But the clock is ticking for Tottenham as the agreement runs out in 2019. Spurs have yet to spend this summer despite flogging Kyle Walker to Manchester City.

Tom Brady Doesn't Have to Give Up His Private Medical Info, ESPN - Duration: 4:40.

[Bob Ley]: "Brady was asked flat out by our colleague Mike Reiss whether Gisele Bundchen's

statement, that her husband had suffered concussions, was indeed accurate.

Tom Brady's response: 'It's none of your business.'

The hell it isn't, Tom!"

You don't need to go to med school for four years to know somebody's medical information

is supposed to remain confidential.

It's pretty much common knowledge at this point.

But ESPN has had a hard time grasping this, like when Adam Schefter tweeted out Jason

Pierre-Paul's medical charts after his fireworks accident because "journalism."

He was eventually sued, and Schefter had to settle because it's against the law.

But here we go again.

Obviously there's been a lot of outrage over this recent study that showed 110 of

111 former NFL players had CTE.

Of course, those were brains from players that all showed symptoms of CTE, so saying

99-percent of pro football players have it isn't entirely accurate.

But it is a concern nonetheless.

That being said, ever since Gisele let it slip on CBS that her husband Tom Brady has

had concussions, despite the injury report not saying anything, ESPN has been on top

of it.

And they were pissed when Brady basically told reporters, my medical info is none of

your damn business.

Look, I understand the NFL hasn't been the most transparent organization with the CTE

stuff.

But they haven't been ignoring it, despite the media narrative.

They've cracked down on all the hitting that made NFL Films from the 80's and 90's

so great.

Those are all illegal.

Helmet-to-helmet hits are gone.

Practices where players wear pads and hit each other are limited.

Every game has multiple spotters now, whose sole job is to watch for concussions.

They even have the power to pause the game.

That doesn't mean they're going to find every concussion that occurs.

I'm not denying Brady has had concussions, I'm sure he has.

But if there's no visual evidence that his play is suffering, and he's still lucid

when communicating with coaches and staff, there's no way of knowing.

That doesn't mean the public should know what Brady talks about when he meets with

his private doctor, just because Gisele briefly mentioned concussions to Charlie Rose.

But my big question is, where is this CTE stuff supposed to go?

What is the end goal?

I agree that football players at all levels, from Pop Warner to the pros, should have as

much accurate information about head trauma and football so they can make an informed

decision on whether they'd like to play or not.

But between the Concussion movie, which nobody saw, and ESPN claiming they should have access

to your medical records, there's this weird "it's time to get rid of football" vibe

coming from a lot of people, even from those at ESPN whose jobs depend on the sport remaining

relevant.

And this is such a slippery slope because plenty of other sports have issues with head

trauma: boxing, cycling, UFC has become exponentially more popular in the last three years.

Brandon Belt was just plunked in the head this past weekend.

That's just in sports.

Plenty of people in the workforce have jobs that they know carry inherent health risks.

That doesn't mean they shouldn't be allowed to do them, or have their privacy taken away.

It's very "Big Brother" of ESPN.

But even more important than ESPN trying to accelerate the breakdown of western society,

is their treatment of Tom Brady.

How dare they!

By the way, we're still waiting on a retraction from the 11 of 12 deflated footballs story,

which was proven to be completely false over two years ago.

Why are they still going after Brady?

And E:60 of all programs, who documented Tom's trip to China just a few weeks ago.

So now Bob Ley and the gang have destroyed whatever partnership they had with Brady,

in an effort to delegitimize the guy who most football fans consider the greatest QB of

all time.

And for what?

So Roger Goodell can crack down on him again?

And I'm sure Goodell and the NFL aren't thrilled with ESPN constantly saying, "They're

ignoring CTE," when clearly they're not.

I'm sorry they don't want to drastically change their business overnight because of

your hysteria.

I'm all for taking precautions and educating players on head trauma.

But after that, it's up to the players whether they want to play, retire early, or say, "I

don't care, football is how I make a living."

Are You Really Ready To Have A Baby? - Duration: 5:50.

There is some truth to the old adage that "there is no perfect time to have a baby."

But there are some times that are better than others.

From being financially secure and emotionally ready to having the right support network

in place, here are the signs that you might just be ready to call up the stork and bring

a new bundle of joy into your life now.

Shared interest

One of the most important questions any couple should ask before taking the plunge into parenthood

is whether they both share the same desire to procreate.

While it's true you don't have to be married or even in a committed relationship to have

and raise a child, if your baby plans involve a full-time partner, it's important to make

sure both people are similarly committed to the concept of bearing children.

"We had a boy so he's gonna grow up and be just like me"

If not, it's the baby who will pay the price for one party's post hoc hesitation after

pregnancy.

Couples should make sure there are no assumptions about their expectations.

Babies bring on an entire new host of challenges, so there's no room for resentment when children

of married couples with children have both parents at work.

While having a romantic partner isn't always a necessity for building a family, having

a support network of some sort is.

Whether it's having relatives who can pitch in with babysitting in a pinch, close friends

who can offer advice and consolation during the tougher moments with your tots, or a parent

group that can share in the responsibility of carpooling kids to soccer matches, it's

important to have some happy helpers in place before baby comes along.

If you already have people in your life that you can trust and are willing to reach out

age of 1 right now, so parents can expect to shell out an inflation-adjusted amount

totaling more than $300,000 throughout the course of a child's upbringing.

That's not counting college tuition, potentially lost wages, and those other unexpected expenses

that creep up along the way.

From the mounting cost of diapers and formula in infancy to putting a down payment on that

first car, raising kids can be very expensive.

And while you don't have to be a one percenter to make it work, future parents should have

income stability and a workable budget plan in place before bringing another mouth to

the table.

Physical stamina

Most new parents would agree that the biggest challenge to raising a baby is the lack of

sleep that comes along with having a newborn.

"My brain is like oatmeal."

Even the healthiest little ones take several months to get into a circadian rhythm, so

it requires a lot of physical vitality to endure so many restless nights.

Even with a partner who might be willing to trade off turns handling the midnight feedings

and nappy changes, so much interrupted sleep can be taxing on a person's physical and mental

well-being.

As a result, a parent's overall health does become a major factor to consider when thinking

about a baby-to-be.

It's also important that a growing family has a steady healthcare plan in place in case

of emergencies and that they are willing to discuss any issues, including potential postpartum

depression, with a physician if and when those issues emerge.

Mess management

Another common complaint new parents tend to have is how chaotic and messy their lives

may become once kids come along and take over the household.

Being ready to sacrifice the pristine clean of your home and prioritize your kids' need

to make mistakes as part of the growing-up process is of paramount importance to being

ready to parent.

It's a grim subject to consider so early on in the family process, but having an estate

Antonio Conte has spoken about the need for three or more signings, and with Virgil van Dijk also handing in a transfer request at Southampton, the race for defender is hotting up.

However, Jamie Redknapp claims that Chelsea are not desperate for another centre-back, saying on Sky Sports: But from what I hear Jurgen Klopp is a really big pull for him.

He wants to play for Klopp and Liverpool need a centre-back desperately. Chelseas need is not as strong and I think he will go to Liverpool.

But Im also surprised Manchester City have not gone for him. They must really feel Vincent Kompany can last the season.. So what is Chelseas biggest need from the players they have been linked with so far?.

1. Alex Sandro/Ryan Bertrand: Marcos Alonso had a superb season for the Blues during the last campaign, but there is a real lack of depth in that position and lack of options for Conte to choose from.

The fact that both Cesar Azpilicueta and Victor Moses have filled in there during pre-season just goes to prove that and there is no doubt that an upgrade can be made.

Whether it is Sandro or Bertrand, both can offer a decent level of play down the left and it is a crucial, niche position that needs to be filled.

2. Ross Barkley: Barkley has been arguably one of the most talented English players around for the last couple of years, however the 23-year-old has failed to really kick on in his career.

Maybe time under Conte might do that for him and for £35m in todays market, Chelsea could get an untapped potential that could prove to be a valuable member of the squad.

With the ability to play centre-mid, on the wing or number 10, he could be an asset for the Blues and one that Chelsea should look to target.

3. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain: The versatile Englishmen once again showed in the Community Shield that he could easily fit in Contes system and his ability to play in central midfield or right wing-back might just be what the Blues need.

Chelsea are also in desperate need of some homegrown players, which is something that Oxlade-Chamberlain could no doubt help fill as well.

However, it might be a challenge to get him from Arsenal, but he would prove to be a useful acquisition if they could get it over the line.

4. Virgil van Dijk: The race for Van Dijk is certainly hotting up with the fact that the Dutch international has handed in a transfer request to Southampton in search of European football.

Chelsea are going to have to battle Liverpool and Arsenal to sign him, but is he the most important person that Chelsea need to bring in with Antonio Rudiger signed and Andreas Christensen back from his loan spell?.

It looks like the 26-year-old might go for around £60m, so the Blues could look to spend the money more wisely with other needs.

5. Gareth Bale: This seems something of a pipe dream in the last few days as rumours ramp up that the Welshman is on his way out of the Bernabeu to make way for the potential incoming of Kylian Mbappe.

Once the world record fee, there is no doubt that Bale would go for a bit less however it is still going to cost some serious money to bring the winger back to England.

Conte has already said he is not interested in a marquee signing, that he just needs more numbers, so the likelihood is his interest in him is not overly high unless hes handed him on a plate.

6. Danny Drinkwater: Drinkwater seems to be one of Contes top targets at the moments, but I struggle to really see what he would bring apart from back-up in the centre of midfield.

There is no doubt that Chelsea need more numbers in that role, but Barkley and Oxlade-Chamberlain could provide that, with extra cover in other areas as well.

It looks like Drinkwater may well be on the way to the Blues this summer, however it would surely be just a matter of bolstering numbers rather than adding the quality.
