Charly Musonda admits crying as he scored first Chelsea goal in Forest win

CHARLY MUSONDA revealed he fought back tears after scoring to cap a dream night for Chelsea.

The blossoming Belgium forward was given his first start by boss Antonio Conte as a wave of youth got their chance in the Carabao Cup demolition of Nottingham Forest.

Charly Musonda is lost in the moment after scoring his first Chelsea goal.

Charly Musonda struggles to hold back the tears after his first senior goal.

Musonda, 20, hit the second in the 5-1 win over Forest then choked on the emotion while embarking on a celebration run which ended with a full length swan dive on the pitch.

He said: "It was an emotional moment I can't even remember it.

My first goal at Stamford Bridge so it was very special.

"I would have been in tears to be honest if the lads hadn't come and got me.

It was so exciting.".

Musonda was joined by fellow Academy graduates Dujon Sterling and Ethan Ampadu for the match as Chelsea look to shake off their tag of snubbing their home grown kids in favour of ready-made, expensive superstars.

Musonda said: "I was looking forward to it.

I came from the Academy and it was a great experience for me to be able to play in my first game with the first team at Stamford Bridge.

I have to keep on working.

"It's great to see the young players coming through and the manager giving them confidence.

They did well.

Charly Musonda fires his goal against Nottingham Forest.

"To be honest I was more nervous before the game.

I had to wait so long for it to start.

"When the game started I felt really good.

Musonda has vowed to wow the fans with his skills and trickery while knuckling down to impress demanding boss Conte.

He said: "That's my game.

I try to express myself when I have the ball.

It's just the way I am.

"The fans were great.

I needed that lift.".

The emotion is etched on the face of Charly Musonda after scoring.

Musonda has been tipped to make a major impact at Stamford Bridge ever since he joined the club from Anderlecht five years ago.

He was tied down to his first professional contract as soon as he turned 17 as the Blues made sure they kept hold of the promising attacking midfielder despite interest from across Europe.

Charly Musonda raced the length of the pitch before performing a swan dive in celebration.

And he was a major influence in the side who won the Uefa youth league in 2015 plus back to back FA Youth Cup wins in 2014 and 2015.

Musonda was then sent out on loan to Real Betis for the second half of the 2015-16 season and made such an impact the Spanish club took him back for the entire 2016-17 campaign.

But Chelsea boss Conte had such good reports on the youngster he recalled him from Spain in January to work closely with the first team squad.

And he made his first team debut as a substitute in the Community Shield against Arsenal, before getting his first Premier League action off the bench on the opening day against Burnley.

The Chelsea fans have already taken to Charly Musonda.

Now Conte is looking at ways to begin bringing the youngster into his first team plans on a more regular basis.

He said: Charly played very well.

He is working a lot to improve his physicality and we are working with him to be ready..

Why it's tough to play for Liverpool, as the 25-year Premier League wait continues - Duration: 6:42.

Why it's tough to play for Liverpool, as the 25-year Premier League wait continues

The longer Liverpool's wait for a Premier League title continues, the harder it will be for new players to settle at Anfield, writes Andrew Beasley.

Liverpool FC holds a uniquely difficult position in English football.

They probably do across the whole of Europe, in fact: the Reds may be the most successful club in the land, but they haven't won the league for 27 years and counting.

They've had spells of success within that period, most notably when they won the Champions League in 2005.

They have also finished second in the league several times, most recently in 2013/14.

What has tended to happen after finishing second has been a nosedive, though, as seemingly everyone associated with the club can't handle the disappointment of getting so close to the holy grail.

Liverpool are burdened with history and expectation, but don't have the huge financial backing that tends to guarantee a title every few years.

Leicester City upsetting the odds and claiming the title in 2015/16 obviously hasn't helped matters either.

If they can do it, why can't Liverpool?.

This insatiable thirst for the title has created a fanbase full of people who can't handle the slightest setback.

It's not the fault of the current manager and players that Liverpool haven't won the league since before Sky invented football in 1992.

They will make themselves club legends if they manage to at some point.

But they are also criticised at times as if they are responsible for the entire lack of titles.

This can make it very difficult for new players to thrive.

Take Loris Karius, a young German goalkeeper who was signed in the summer of 2016.

He was brought in to be first choice in Jurgen Klopp's first summer transfer window.

When he got into the team following an initial injury, he looked like he was going to be No.

1 for the foreseeable future.

Unfortunately he then made mistakes costing goals in successive league matches against Bournemouth and West Ham.

All hell broke loose on social media as fans perceived his mistakes as potentially derailing yet another bid for the title.

Klopp then dropped Karius from the side, and he hasn't played too often since.

This is not to say the boss took him out of the team purely due to fan pressure; far from it.

But clearly if a player in a key position doesn't have the support of the fans, then as the manager you've got a large problem.

It's far harder to allow players to grow and develop within the team when you're trying to get the monkey of a lengthy title drought off your back.

For a comparable example of the opposite of this, we must look to Liverpool's fierce rivals, Man United.

In the summer of 2011, they signed a young Spanish 'keeper called David de Gea.

He looked nervous at first, and made some costly errors.

It's not that United didn't want to win the league during his first season.

Indeed, they only lost it on goal difference to Man City, so they very nearly did take the title.

But whether they had won it or not, they could allow De Gea time to develop as they had won four of the previous five league championships.

Had they had one bad season, it wouldn't have been the end of the world for them or their fans.

As soon as something similar happens to Liverpool though, the world caves in.

Perhaps Karius isn't good enough to be Liverpool's No.

1; his form in Germany before moving at least suggested it's not impossible that he might be.

Chances are he won't be as good as De Gea either, who is now one of the top goalkeepers in the world.

But it seems unlikely now that Karius will get an extended run in the Liverpool team.

We may never know what his true level is.

It's not as if a Liverpool signing can't thrive immediately.

Mohamed Salah has started his debut campaign at Anfield in spectacular style, just as Sadio Mane did 12 months ago.

But the club's most recent signing, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, is seemingly being written off by some fans after one start for Liverpool.

One! What chance does the poor guy have?.

Or indeed, does any new signing at Liverpool have? The weight of expectation and the burden of history is a powerful cocktail.

It's one which must make playing for the Reds very difficult for all but the very best of players.

#Diego Costa's best Premier League stats as he finally leaves Chelsea for Atletico - Duration: 4:32.

Diego Costa's best Premier League stats as he finally leaves Chelsea for Atletico

DIEGO COSTA has finally rejoined Atletico Madrid in a £53million deal following his Chelsea exile.

The Spanish international, 28, has been training by himself in Brazil after being told he is no longer needed by Antonio Conte.

Diego Costa has finally left Chelsea to rejoin La Liga side Atletico Madrid.

Spain international is one of Chelseas best Premier League-era strikers.

With no Chelsea return on the horizon, Costa has now moved on to the next stage of his career, rejoining the club he first left back in 2014.

While Costa was not always the easiest player to love, with his all-too-frequent bouts of rage muddying his Blues career, he was a truly remarkable striker.

The now ex-Chelsea star features in a host of impressive stat titbits, despite only playing at the club for three seasons.

For starters, he is one of only four players to score 20-plus goals in a Premier League season.

Costa is also one of only three, along with Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink and Didier Drogba to do so in multiple campaigns.

On top of that, he is one of only seven players to reach the magic 50-goals tally in Chelseas Premier League history.

Diego Costa will play for Atletico Madrid once theyve served their transfer ban.

His 52 top-flight strikes see him sit behind only Eidur Gudjohnsen, Eden Hazard, Gianfranco Zola, Hasselbaink, Drogba and Frank Lampard.

In fact, since the start of the 2014-15 season - when he first arrived in England - only FOUR players have scored more Premier League goals.

Costas 52 sit just behind Alexis Sanchez, Romelu Lukaku, Sergio Aguero and Harry Kane.

The Brazil-born striker even reached his half-century of Prem goals in the eighth-quickest time, behind the likes of Alan Shearer, Andy Cole and Ruud van Nistelrooy.

Diego Costa notched a host of milestones during his Chelsea days.

Diego Costa spent three full seasons at Chelsea, enjoying huge success.

Its fair to say Costa is the second-most prolific Chelsea forward of the Premier League era, as he scored a goal every 145 minutes in the league during his time at Stamford Bridge.

Only Hernan Crespo can boast a better record - scoring every 141 minutes.

Costa even sits about the likes of Hasselbaink (150), Drogba (169) and Tore Andre Flo (183).

While Costas time at Chelsea will now forever be remembered for its controversial ending, his ability for the Blues will also never be in question.

All in all, Costa scored 52 Premier League goals in just 89 games, while winning the title in two of his three seasons in West London - to go with one League Cup.

Eto'o considering return to England as former Chelsea and Everton star eyes becoming a manager

FORMER Chelsea star Samuel Etoo is considering a return to England - as a manager.

The Cameroon striker scored 12 Blues goals four seasons ago and spent the following year with Everton.

Samuel Etoo is currently playing for Tukish side Antalyaspor.

But Etoo is targeting a move into the dugout and a job in England.

Etoo, 36, currently plays for Turkish club Antalyaspor.

A close advisor has revealed the former Barcelona and Inter Milan ace plans to go into coaching after ending his playing career in the United States.

George Gardi said Etoos dream would be to manage former club Inter.

However the three-time Champions League winner would equally relish the chance to boss a Premier League side.

Gardi, the right-hand man of Antalyaspor president Ali Safak Ozturk, lifted the lid on Etoos plans.

Gardi said: Samuel Etoo has had two great seasons in Turkey, scoring 40 goals.

The Cameroonian scored 12 goals for Chelsea in the 2013-14 season .

Etoo scored four goals in 20 games for Everton the following season.

I dont rule out the possibility of him renewing his contract for another season.

Then he aims to finish his career in Major League Soccer.

But once he has hung up his boots, he wants to become a coach.

It is his desire to manage Inter Milan some day.

Etoo won the Champions League twice in his Barcelona days.

North Korea in outrageous Trump 'barking dog' threat as WW3 tensions ESCALATE - Duration: 3:02.

North Korea in outrageous Trump 'barking dog' threat as WW3 tensions ESCALATE

THREAT: Donald Trump has slammed Kim Jong-un as a rocket man.

In an address on Tuesday to the UN, Trump escalated his stand-off with North Korea over its nuclear challenge. He threatened to totally destroy the country of 26 million people if the North threatened the US and its allies.

Trump also mocked its leader, Kim Jong-un, calling him a rocket man.

ANGRY: Foreign Minister Ri Yong-ho said Donald Trump was a barking dog. North Koreas Foreign Minister Ri Yong-ho has hit back at Trumps comments as "the sound of a dog barking.

There is a saying that goes: Even when dogs bark, the parade goes on, Ri said to reporters in front of a hotel near the UN headquarters in New York.

If (Trump) was thinking about surprising us with dog-barking sounds then he is clearly dreaming, he said.

Asked by reporters what he thought of Trump calling North Korean leader Kim Jong-un rocket man, Ri added: I feel sorry for his aides. North Korea conducted its sixth and largest nuclear test on September 3 and has launched numerous missiles this year.

These including two intercontinental ballistic missiles and two other rockets that flew over Japan.

Such provocations have sparked strong disapproval from the international community, especially from the United States and Japan. Daily Star Online revealed defence chiefs fears North Korea may strike Tokyo, Seoul or Los Angeles.

They may use their nuclear weapons if the US takes military action against Pyongyang.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has called for calm. He said the situation on the Korean peninsula was getting more serious by the day and could not be allowed to spin out of control.

We call on all parties to be calmer than calm and not let the situation escalate out of control, Wang said this morning.

Klopp lined up Bayern star as Philippe Coutinho replacement | Liverpool FC News Now transfer | #LFC - Duration: 2:03.

Liverpool targeted Bayern Munich forward Thomas Muller to replace Philippe Coutinho in the

summer, according to a report in Germany.

Coutinho never left Anfield in the summer, despite putting in a transfer request, but

Livepool had drawn up plans to replace the 25-year-old and Germany international Muller

was their top target.

The Reds were understood to be prepared to spend €100million on the 28-year-old, who

scored nine goals and managed 17 assists in 42 games for Bayern last season.

The Bild report claims that Bayern's reluctance to sell ended any hopes Liverpool had of buying

Muller.

The German publication, earlier this month, claimed Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool all

failed with efforts to sign Muller this summer.

The 28-year-old struggled for form last season and was no longer a guaranteed starter at

the Allianz Arena, but he has played in all five league games this term, scoring once

and assisting once.

Muller is contracted to Bayern until 2021, but Bild stated earlier this month that Muller

could be sold off if he has another difficult year at Bayern.

Coutinho though is understood to have been chasing a move to Barcelona and the Catalan

club have insisted Liverpool were prepared to sell Coutinho for €200m and were not

willing to negotiate.

President Moon promotes 2018 Olympics as opportunity for peace and reconciliation with North Korea - Duration: 2:01.

Only 140 days to go,... until the cauldron is lit at the Olympic Stadium in PyeongChang.

South Korea is now in the final stages of preparing for the 2018 Winter Games, and President

Moon has been busy promoting it in New York... with an overriding emphasis on peace.

Won Jung-hwan has the details.

President Moon Jae-in, an honorary ambassador for the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics,

invited the world's countries to the games,... including North Korea.

(KOREAN) "As the tension on the Korean peninsula is

on the rise, so much more peace is needed.

If the two Koreas join together at this point, it will be a good opportunity to convey the

message of reconciliation and peace to the world."

President Moon's comments, made during a promotional event for the games at New York's Metropolitan

Museum of Art on Wednesday local time, weren't the first occasion he has shown his intent

to invite the North to Pyeongchang,... as he has previously brought the topic up in

a meeting with IOC President Thomas Bach.

And under Wednesday's event's theme of, 'Celebrating the Olympic Winter Games for Peace', the South

Korean leader expressed his hope that Pyeongchang 2018 will be the most peaceful Winter Olympics

ever.

The official design for the 2018 Olympic medals was also unveiled, simultaneously in New York

and Seoul.

With an inclusion of four new disciplines, including big air snowboarding and mass start

speed skating, there'll be a record 102 opportunities for athletes to win a medal at Pyeongchang.

The medals from each Olympics reflect the host nation's culture, and for Pyeongchang

2018, the medals' design is based on Hangeul, the Korean alphabet,

from the idea that the root of Korean culture is the Korean language.

Samsung selected as one of 5 most influential companies that shaped Asia and the world: Forbes - Duration: 1:39.

Forbes magazine has named Samsung Group as one of Asia's five most influential companies.

The American business magazine released its list of the five firms that have shaped Asia

and the world on Friday,... and cited Samsung as a prime example.

Park Ji-won has details.

U.S.-based financial magazine Forbes selected Korea's tech giant, and the world's largest

smartphone maker, Samsung as one of the five most influential companies that have shaped

Asia and the world.

The U.S. magazine told the story of Samsung's growth, from its beginnings as a small distribution

enterprise in 1938,... and analyzed Chairman Lee Kun-hee's major shift in business strategy

during the 1990s as a turning point for the company.

Forbes said Lee's so-called 'Frankfurt Declaration of 1993',... which included his famous quote

"Change everything but your wife and children,"... has turned a mediocre electronics company

into the world's second largest tech firm.

The magazine also said the 'Asian Tiger economies', of Hong Kong, Taiwan and South Korea, which

experienced rapid growth in the late 20th century,... continue to be relevant,... and

inspire other Asian countries today.

Other firms on the list were Toyota Motor, Sony, India-based HDFC Bank and China's online

commerce giant Alibaba Group,... and the magazine said these companies have helped make Asia

a global powerhouse with a strong economic outlook.

Kim Jong-un makes unprecedented statement at Trump as N. Korea suggests future H-bomb ... - Duration: 2:43.

North Korea's leader isn't backing down in his war of words against the President of

the United States.

Kim Jong-un threatened to take the "highest level" of response to Trump's latest rhetoric.

According to our Kwon Jang-ho, there are hints... that one possible action by the regime could

be a hydrogen bomb test in the Pacific Ocean.

The stakes in the tit-for-tat rhetoric between the U.S. and North Korea has been raised once

again.

North Korea's leader Kim Jong-un released a statement on Friday, condemning U.S. Prsident

Trump's speech at the UN General Assembly, where he threatened to "totally destroy" North

Korea if forced to defend itself or its allies.

Kim said instead of making any remarks that could have defused tensions, Trump spouted

"unprecedented rude nonsense" that caused "worldwide concern."

He called Trump "mentally deranged" and a "dotard", meaning a senile old person.

Kim said the U.S. President has insulted him and the regime and pledged to take the "highest

level of hard-line countermeasures."

The statement is an unprecedented escalation in rhetoric.

It's believed to be the first time Kim, or any of his predecessors for that matter, has

made such a statement in person on state media.

However, despite this new precedent, one expert says it didn't come as a total surprise.

(Korean - ) "Kim's grandfather and father, Kim Il-sung

and Kim Jong-il, were charismatic and had authority.

They wouldn't have dealt with this kind of situation themselves, they wouldn't have needed

to.

But Kim Jong-un's grip on authority is much weaker, so he HAS to show a strong response

to Trump's comments.

It just shows his limits."

North Korea's top diplomat, Ri Yong-ho, who is in New York for the UN General Assembly,

was asked about Kim's statement.

(Korean - YTN) "In relation to Trump's thoughtless words,

he said he would take the highest level of countermeasures.

I believe that could be a test of our most powerful hydrogen bomb in the Pacific Ocean."

Pyongyang already carried out a nuclear test earlier this month, which it claimed to be

an H-bomb.

But a detonation in the Pacific Ocean would be considered a massive step in provocations,

especially as it would be outside of North Korea's borders.

But for now, experts are skeptical such test will come any time soon..

(Korean - ) "I believe they are technically capable of

carrying it out.

But I think it should be seen as an introduction of a new threat card on the U.S.

They are first more likely to continue test firing Hwasong-14 ICBM missiles into the Pacific,

and then later use that to make further threats about testing an H-bomb there."

Kwon Jang-ho, Arirang News.
